At that event, I was a little bummed when there was a mix-up with my order. I had ordered an iced ube latte, but they ended up giving me a Mount Milo drink instead. Fast forward to now and I'm so happy that I'm back. It is Filipino American History Month and visiting this October made for the perfect time. This time I finally got to finally try a drink with ube! I This time, I went with their Halo Halo Latte. Their Halo Halo Latte is essentially Teofilo's coffee inspired take on the classic Halo Halo Filipino dessert. It features a strong Filipino coffee base with red bean, ube and ube cream! Wow! So masarap! I loved how the different flavors came together to capture that Halo Halo taste, with a delicious ube touch that made my drink extra special. It was sweet, creamy, and packed with Filipino inspired flavors. The one thing that I would have preferred was for it to be a little hotter. I ordered it hot, but it arrived more on the lukewarm side. It would have been even better served hot for the morning. That said, it was still a solid and an enjoyable drink overall. It was a bit on the pricey side, coming out to $8.84 with tax and close to $10 with tip. Nevertheless, it was definitely a treat! Overall, I was happy to be back here at Teofilo Coffee Company and finally get my ube fix. I would definitely come back again to try more of their Filipino inspired drinks!

The Pink Berry Smoothie was so refreshing and fruity, especially on a hot day. It's a great spot to hang out with friends, catch up, or even get some work done. The customer service is amazing, too--friendly, attentive, and welcoming every time. Definitely a place I'll keep coming back to!

MAI Coffee & Tea House is a modern fusion tea shop that specializes in Vietnamese coffee / Japanese…read morematcha / Taiwanese tea. This tea house was founded by Chef Nam and is a sister shop of NAM Kitchen. As others have pointed out, their pink colored takeout cup for hot drinks looks like a copycat version of Molly Tea's cup and the logo for MAI looks very similar to Chagee's logo. [Parking]: The tea house is located inside Pacific Square Shopping Center in Gardena and there's plenty of parking space within the lot. [Ordering]: There are two kiosks to place an order. No waiting line on a weekday afternoon. [Setting]: Plenty of indoor and outdoor tables with K-pop music playing in the background. [Menu]: Some of the top highlighted items include Pistachio Bun, Babanana Coffee, Strawberry Matcha, Double Matcha, Ube Cream Coffee, etc. For milk options, the tea house uses Straus Organic Milk. The morning menu (8 AM to 11 AM) only includes coffee and matcha and the full drink menu is available after 11 AM. *** Double Matcha (green tea organic milk swirled with velvety matcha cream foam - Straus organic milk & less ice - $8.00): Passable drink, but it didn't taste as strong as other Double Matcha drinks I have had in Koreatown. The latte portion tasted a bit watery. The drink also didn't appear to have less ice despite having picked the less ice option. *** An a-okay option for anyone who's craving matcha but doesn't want to drive out of the way to Koreatown. I had too high of an expectation for this tea house and there are better matcha options in the South Bay.

The coffee was pretty solid, the baristas were all friendly as well. When waiting that long, I feel it helps to actually see the menu before I order and wish it was more accessible. The one menu on the wall was not the full menu just the featured drinks which was somewhat helpful.

The parking is a bit off putting as there are limited spaces and the lot itself is small. I was almost hit by a larger car suddenly pulling out of their spot, so be careful! My sister got a small Strawberry Vanilla Latte ($~7, looks about 16 oz) and service was efficient. I had a few sips of her drink, and it instantly made me think of Nesquik strawberry milk mixed with espresso. I thought the sweetness was at a good level, but I could see it being borderline too sweet if you have a whole drink to yourself. I really liked the unexpected nostalgia factor, and the drink itself was very pretty. The interior is intricately decorated, with little signs and knick knacks everywhere you look. My favorite part was the community resource wall! It was completely filled with flyers (some bilingual) and there was a shelf with stacks of business cards from professionals of all industries. I also spotted a "Know your rights" poster on one of the counters. La Cha x The Bowl currently has a second location in Hawthorne in addition to this flagship location in Torrance. The shop is known for its viral cracking chocolate shell boba cup. [Parking]: Easy parking within the plaza. [Atmosphere]: A very casual setup for this tea shop and customers can place their orders via one of two kiosks. One thing to note is that the tea shop plays fairly loud background music so it is hard to have a conversation unless you are sitting right next to the person you are talking to. [Menu]: Yelp's top highlighted items are Strawberry Matcha W/ Milk Foam, Strawberry Taro Milk Tea, and Caramel Cheese Latte. Other featured items include Popcorn Chicken, Biscoff Shake, and Chicken Teriyaki Bowl. *** Strawberry Matcha Milk Tea (100% sweetness - $6.20): The drink was slightly too sweet for me, but the overall flavor was there. Chicken Teriyaki Bowl (Charbroiled Chicken Teriyaki + comes with white rice, chopped lettuce, macaroni salad and grilled fresh pineapple - $13.90): The bowl was surprisingly better than I had expected. The bowl had a slice of grilled pineapple and decent macaroni salad. I was actually able to split the bowl into two smaller meal portions. It was certainly a lot better than the teriyaki bowl from Flame Broiler. *** A solid 3.5-star for the drink and rice bowl. I personally slightly prefer their rice bowl over their drinks and overall this is a nice neighborhood tea shop to grab a quick meal or get a-okay drinks as there aren't too many tea shop options in this part of Torrance (closer to the city of Carson).

I told him I wanted to mix matcha with thai, and he was honest enough to tell me that it probably wouldn't taste the way I was expecting because they use powder, and it doesn't always blend well. I appreciated him so much for that because if I had spent money on a nasty drink, I would've been upset. So my backup plan became the Fruity Booty, and it was SO good. I don't remember everything that was in it, but I know it had mango and strawberries. The only downside was that it melted super fast. By the time we got back to the car, there was already juice collecting at the bottom of the cup. Even with that, it was delicious. I ended up finishing the whole thing, which I definitely wasn't expecting. It was so hot outside, and it ended up being the perfect refreshing drink.
