I told him I wanted to mix matcha with thai, and he was honest enough to tell me that it probably wouldn't taste the way I was expecting because they use powder, and it doesn't always blend well. I appreciated him so much for that because if I had spent money on a nasty drink, I would've been upset. So my backup plan became the Fruity Booty, and it was SO good. I don't remember everything that was in it, but I know it had mango and strawberries. The only downside was that it melted super fast. By the time we got back to the car, there was already juice collecting at the bottom of the cup. Even with that, it was delicious. After years of forgetting about this place, they popped up on my uber eats. They have a special going on buy 1 get 1 free. I've ordered twice now, the most recent time left me with the "yeah I'm not coming back" feeling. I place the uber eats order: 2 shrimp fried rice 2 garlic noodles with filet mignon, peppers & onion 2 popcorn chicken The issue was the service. There were 2 very young girls working the front end. They took forever to acknowledge me waiting at the counter for my pick up order. When one of them finally approached me I showed her my phone and said that I had a pick up order via uber eats. She disappears for 10 minutes. Comes back out and started doing other stuff, gives me no update or anything. I waited an extra 25 minutes after my "promised time" on uber eats. I understand that the younger gen doesn't talk to people but that's just crazy, like at least update the customer ?? If I was a delivery person for someone an extra 25 min wait is insane They even forgot about another lady that was also waiting... The shrimp fried rice is pretty good, of course there's only like 4 shrimps in the entire container. The noodles are okay, obviously they're garlic noodles so you'll have the heavy garlic breath. Very oily and slippery, feels like it'll break my skin out. Popcorn chicken is not traditional to what I am personally used to. One of the pieces had a bone in it and I'm glad it was me and not someone else in my family that got it. There's flavor, the breading is weird and doesn't entirely cover it? Either way, I haven't been here in years and I think this solidified that I don't need to come back. The outside says Veo cafe now. They only use the door on the side for entrance. Hey hey hey so I'm giving you 5 stars bc I've never actually eaten here ... But I was in there tonight at about 8:05 PM to pick up a Togo order for Uber Eats. As I approached the counter on the right to show them the order I felt something under my foot. I looked down and noticed I was stepping on a straw. I reached down, picked it up, and said to the girl behind the counter, "Do you have a trash can this was just on the floor." She then grabbed it and put it back into the container with the CLEAN straws. I then looked back at her and said, "I.. just.. stepped on that." (Said slowly and clearly.) She completely ignored me. It wasn't loud in there and she was about 3 feet from me. I then got super grossed out because I had been out at day, used multiple public restrooms, and not to mention the sidewalks I walk on are not in the best of areas. I went here with a friend for their drinks. It's a cute store with some food items but mostly focuses on drinks. I had the seas salt green tea drink and they were cool about using no sugar. I've been coming here since it's opening and I have never really gotten anything other than their garlic noodles and popcorn chicken. I think they have the best popcorn chicken in the area. The portions are a great size. Their drinks are too sweet for me so if you don't like sweet I wouldn't order a drink. I think the actual place could use a fave lift. My first time here. Nestled in a new development with a small shared parking lot behind the building. From the parking lot, you have to walk to Carson, around The UPS Store to Hiccups. The entrance is actually facing the small patio area on the west side. A warm and comforting interior with plenty of seating. A large selection of food and drinks on the menu. I got the Pad Thai with Chicken and the Mango Mango Tea. The Pad Thai was delicious. The Mango Mango Tea was too sweet. I usually enjoy my time at Hiccups but I feel over the years, they have not been as great. This location in Carson, doesn't really get busy, well not anymore. There is parking right in front of the businesses or a small lot behind the place that shares with the neighboring apartment homes. It may get packed if you come on a peak day but not sure when that is. The restaurant itself, is pretty nice and the decor is inviting. Unfortunately, staff tends to not offer exceptional customer service. The two guys working the day we visited were okay but they were more invested in talking to each other and he had to clarify my order because he forgot what I wanted. Even when I walked out I said thank you twice and they did not respond. Another couple was waiting to order but were never greeted so they left and went to the restaurant across. As for the drinks (Pink Flamingo and Mango Mango), they were very sweet and the boba was overcooked. They were very mushy and stuck together at bottom of the drink. I should have asked to lessen the sweetness but didn't know that was a possibility. As for the food, I will always be a fan of their garlic noodles and popcorn chicken. It was our first time at any Hiccups and she was helpful with suggestions - we got the garlic noodles with shaken beef, bone rib pho and Vietnamese coffee. All was tasty! The Vietnamese coffee was potent- yum. The garlic noodles made well. Checked this place out because I saw a deal through social media and it wasn't far away. Perfect location on an errand to IKEA and post office. There were plenty of patrons but although she was the only staff working the front, she was patient and helpful- we had a baby in tow. Had a great experience getting the macadamia nut coffee my first time but when i came back this time it wasn't the same The strawberry and mango fruit teas were good, but they mixed up what level of sweetness we wanted. I love, love, love Hiccups! They've been in Carson for a while now and it's one of my kids favorite places to eat and get boba drinks. We visited recently and ordered the Pad See Ew, Pop Corn chicken for the kids, 2 cookies and cream shakes and my ultimate go to, the horchata milk tea. We very much enjoyed our order. This is my go-to place when looking for a place to eat pad thai at night. I love that it is open late so that we can come over and get a delicious pad thai for dinner. I have tried many times the popcorn chicken and pad thai so that is what I will mention in this review. For starters, the popcorn chicken was very crispy and heavenly. It is makes a delicious lunch and tasty snack. The pad thai is my favorite to buy because it hits the spot all the time. The atmosphere is also excellent, being sorrounded with modern decor and a clean environment makes a perfect dining experiance. Not usually a review writing type of person, but my friends and I came to the Hiccups on Carson Street last night, and were met with pretty rude service right off the bat. We understood that we came in pretty late and close to closing, but we weren't planning on dining in, we just wanted to get 3 drinks and 1 food item to go. As soon as we walk in, we received with "we're closed for dining" which all three of us said okay, got it. As we took a look at the menu to figure out what we had wanted, we were met with annoyed stares and sighs as they watched us. This interaction in its full entirety lasted about 10 minutes from walk-in, to waiting, and leaving. It was a pretty uncomfortable situation, and kind of disappointing, as the girls making the drinks not only rolled their eyes and let out sighs while simply making our drinks, messing up one of them up and saying "oh well" and continued to make faces. Which is fine, I didn't ask for it be remade since I didn't want to further interact with the women during this closing shift in this establishment as to not want to feel anymore uncomfortable as we had been with the treatment from the staff. Along with the service not being the greatest, the food item we had ordered Pad See Ew, ended up containing quite a few pieces of meat that we weren't anticipating, considering one of us doesn't eat meat, it unfortunately caused pretty bad stomach issues. We hope that maybe we had just caught an off day with the staff and this isn't the usual service, but as it was our first time at this establishment, it will more than likely be our last. read more

Decided to place a delivery order and let me tell you - it brought me right back to why I loved this spot in the first place. I ordered chicken Pad Thai with no tofu, no green onions (I like them chopped smaller), extra egg, extra peanuts, extra lime, and extra chili flakes (they forgot those, but I had my own) and most importantly, extra sauce. And yes, that sauciness came through! The flavor was bold, sweet, tangy, and rich. Every bite was just right. They followed almost all my special instructions, which is rare on delivery apps. While I think the food was good, I think it's way too over priced to be worth it. The garlic udon noodles were $13 and if you wanted to add beef it was another $6 - so $20 for a plate. They don't have lunch size portions that are smaller and less expensive. The boba tea was delicious, you got a good size for $6. read more

I've been ordering from Hiccups for a while, so I know their process. I placed an order today (paid over the phone since it was over $25) and picked it up without checking because it was cold and raining. We ordered 2 garlic noodles (no protein) and 1 tofu pad Thai since we're not eating meat. When I got home, one of the garlic noodles had chicken in it--so we couldn't even have our family dinner as planned. I called expecting a simple fix, but the customer service made things worse. The manager, Soy, never got on the phone, but I could clearly hear her in the background with an irritated, dismissive tone. That alone turned a mistake into a bad experience. Mistakes happen--but attitude matters. Being inconvenienced is one thing, being treated like you're the problem is unacceptable. If this is the new management, it's disappointing. Losing long-time customers over something like this is avoidable. 1 star. Won't be returning. read more

Stopped by for lunch around 1pm and enjoyed the Shaken Chicken and fried rice with beef. Portions are large enough to share. They have all kinds of drinks and I enjoyed the classic Thai Iced Tea/no no boba. There wasn't a crowd but staff were busy with to go orders.
