Iced Vanilla Latte

I went to Alana's coffee roaster on my lunch break because I work from around the corner. I saw this location on TikTok and thought it would be a perfect place to grab an ice vanilla latte. When I came in, I felt like I was disturbing the baristas who gave me a weird stare, continued their conversation, and it took them a couple of minutes to give me any attention. I ordered it was fine - about 8$ for an iced vanilla latte with oat milk. I went to the restroom real quick and when I asked where it was because I hadn't been there before, I just got a head nod in the direction - again as if i interrupted the baristas peace. When I came out of the restroom, I asked if the latte sitting on the counter was mine and no one acknowledged me, so I just took it. I only asked because I was in there for a couple minutes and wasn't sure if someone else had ordered in the time I was in the restroom. The latte was mid. I've had better from Primo Passo or the boy and the bear. The ambience is cute for a nice local hipster coffee shop. But it seems if you don't fit the vibe, they don't vibe with you.

First time visiting this location and had a great experience! Free parking lot is a huge plus with no time limit. Spent a few hours here doing work, free wifi. Ample indoor and outdoor seating. Got the overnight oats ($10) which were really good!!! I appreciated the fresh fruit, made the price feel a bit more valid. Didn't try the coffee this time but enjoyed the ambiance. Would definitely come back!

This is the second location of Alana's I've been to. They have the actual bean roasting (I think) area and machines inside so you see part of the process, very cool. The coffee is very good, got an iced mocha on a hot day like today. There's seating inside, in front of the coffee shop and on their back patio. A lot of people here doing work today.

Staff was really friendly and nice! I asked them for recommendations and they recommended tea with peach syrup since I was looking for something refreshing and I really enjoyed it! Lots of tables and seating WiFi is fast and great for working!

Lovely service and atmosphere. Solid clientele coming and going this Sunday morning. Latte- solid yum. Daughters iced orange vanilla matcha is delicious for that dang green tea! Love all the pet photos posted.

The drinks here are absolutely delicious! We really enjoyed their Matcha lemonade, a very unique twist with what seemed like iced tea. Perfectly refreshing on a hot day! Service is wonderful, they are so friendly and welcoming. They get through the lines quickly with a smile and everything is made perfectly. Prices are extremely fair and their coffee is roasted in house and fresh and delicious every time. Highly recommended if you are looking for the great drink or pick me up in the area.

Loveeee this coffee shop with so much outdoor space to work! It does get packed so make sure to get there early if you want to secure a seat in the shades. The vanilla cardamom latte was one of the best I've ever had!

Absolutely love this place. The staff are fun, welcoming, and make the whole experience feel easy and inviting. The coffee is excellent, and I really appreciate the variety of vegan options. My favorite part is the outdoor seating in the back--it feels like a little garden oasis tucked away from the noise. It's the perfect spot to sip your coffee, relax, and maybe get lost in a book for a while. They also offer indoor seating and tables out front, so even when it's busy, you'll most likely still find a place to sit and enjoy your time.

average prices for the area, great seasonal/fun drink options! the orange creamsicle had a subtle orange zest flavor and cardamom brown sugar was amazing. lots of cozy seating outdoor, some indoor seating. line is long but moves quickly!

Just moved to Mar Vista and stumbled upon Alana's! Love love love this coffee shop. It's a super popular spot with tons of delicious coffee and pastries. The line was kind of long when I went but moved pretty quickly. I ordered the orange creamsicle latte and oh mannn the cream was so good. It's my go to now! The outside is also really nice and spacious as people often chill there. I can't wait to try everything else on the menu!

Fresh, fast, and delicious mocha. Small parking lot next to the building with parking. Ordered to go and it was ready when I arrived.

This could be up there as one of best coffee spots i've ever been to. Incredible. Truly incredible coffee. Alana's roasts their beans in-house, and you can taste the difference. Fresh, rich, and beautifully balanced , the kind of coffee that makes you slow down and actually enjoy every sip. The staff were just as impressive welcoming, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. It adds so much when the people behind the counter care about what they're serving. The ambiance is cute and cozy, with a relaxed neighborhood feel. Plus, the available outdoor seating makes it a perfect spot to sit, sip, and stay awhile.

This place was cool! I needed a spot to get some work done and I was not alone in that pursuit. The staff were all a lovely, the coffee I got was good, and the pastry hit the spot. I will say the Chorizo hand pie was on the spicer end so watch out if you're a wimp like me aha. WiFi was fast, seating was ample, so a solid place to be if you need to hang!

We booked a ResortPass for a Saturday and had a really enjoyable day at the Marina del Rey Hotel…read more Having eaten lunch here a couple of times before, I already knew the hotel had a great vibe. The location is hard to beat, with the property surrounded by boats and beautiful marina views that make it feel like a true getaway. Check-in was quick, and the front desk staff was especially welcoming and friendly. Self-parking was convenient, although the lot filled up quickly and available spaces were limited. The pool itself is very nice, but it was quite busy with families and young kids when we arrived. At times, it bordered on being a little too chaotic, especially when some parents weren't keeping a close eye on their children. It didn't ruin the experience, but it did take away from the relaxing atmosphere early in the day. Getting food and drinks was easy. We simply walked into the bar to order, and the service was smooth. By later in the afternoon, the pool area had quieted down considerably, making it much easier to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Overall, we had a great experience. The beautiful marina setting, friendly staff, and relaxed atmosphere more than outweighed the crowded pool earlier in the day. We'd definitely consider another ResortPass visit. 4.5 stars

When he called and asked if I had ever been here, I responded and said no-to which he added that it was understandable being that "Joe Blow" can't just come in here and plop down for a bite-you need to be invited by a current resident and be placed on the guest list. If you want to be transported back in time, specifically either the 70s or 80s on a Friday night, you'll definitely want to come in and dine. The crowd is a nice mix of resonance or friends and or associates of the residents who live there. And while it's certainly not an assisted living home, the average age of the crowd when we attended was certainly on the north side of 60, and for over half of them pushing 70 easily. The ambiance, physical structure, layout & features (both overt and subtle) of the Dockside restaurant mirrored that (era/time/age of the location in every way-and in this particular case I would argue that's a good thing. My guest and I both went ahead and ordered the chicken tender salad, with him opting for blue cheese and myself going with ranch for the dressing. We both agreed it was better than average. Since I don't do alcohol, I didn't order any drinks, but he stated the two drinks he did order were excellent. All in all a great experience at The Dockside restaurant here at the Marina City Club restaurant where depending on what day and time you arrive, you will be treated to some jazz, old disco, or any combination thereof. If you want to go back in time a bit, it's a nice place to visit if you can get on the guest list.

I've never rented the space nor have I ever seen it in use. I hear the LMU Board of Directors…read moreoccasionally meets there, but I've never seen anybody use it. I know it primarily because it is the halfway point on my evening run. I always stop and take a look at the view, which in my opinion is magnificent. In fact the Bird Nest is ALL about the view from the patio. You can see from Marina del Rey, to the West (see photo I posted) and Century City, to the East. The spot is truly inspiration point. The next time you are visiting the LMU campus be sure to take the time to visit the Bird Nest and soak in the view.

O Bird Nest. You'll always be the Bird's Nest to me. For some reason, either right before I…read moregraduated from LMU or right afterward, it became a big deal for people who worked for Student Center Facilities or whatever department to refer to this swingin' remnant of the '70s as Bird Nest rather than Bird's Nest. Whatever. This weird clubhouse-like structure will be familiar to anyone who grew up in the '70s or '80s in California. It seems that every place near a beach or a pool had some wooden building with dark windows, a loft, and a conversation pit. LMU's Bird's Nest, or Bird Nest, is no different. I attended many a campus event here, and all of them were disappointing. OK, that's not exactly true. Many of them were wonderful, but Bird's Nest never really lived up to its '70s hype. The loft was always kind of sad, and the conversation pit, while definitely not sad, just never did the best job of maintaining conversations. I will say, however, that it was cool that during pre-orientation my freshman year they had Dazed and Confused on loop here during a mixer. I didn't really watch the movie, and I actually really didn't enjoy this mixer, but this movie and the feelings I had were very appropriate. The Bird's Nest was much cooler when it had a swimming pool next to it. They took that out either in the late '90s or right around 2000. When I was at LMU, it was a tradition that you were thrown into a body of water on your birthday. Most people got thrown into the Foley Pond, which is scary because it's really really really shallow so if you struggled at all you were likely to get hurt. If you had a nice friends, they would throw you into the Bird's Nest's pool. I was one of the throwers once, and the lead thrower counted 2 twice, so I let go of the girl's arms while he held onto her legs. She wasn't injured, but I felt really bad.
