Cappuccino as it comes, traditional by choice.
    Daniel P.

Mad Lab hit the spot for a lovely morning cappuccino. The service was quick and friendly. There were a lot of options on the menu. I went traditional. Wifey went signature and tried a Dali latte which was a delicious latte. There was a lot of seating with many customers working while drinking their coffee and tea. The ambiance was alive with lotf of colors and some excellent jazz playing. Maybe baristas choice? I was looking at the coffee selection mostly from Ethiopia from what it seems. I will do a better job on my next visit to see what's the light and dark roasts. I prefer the light roasts.

One of my favorite spots to get work done and grab coffee! I used to work not far from here and even though it's a drive for me now, I still love to sit and enjoy a moment here. Inside is always so clean and the coffee is delicious! Some of the best coffee beans! The baristas are always sweet and fast with preparing everything! They are very knowledgeable about all of their products too! My one wish is for decaf espresso but their matcha is amazing!

Using my Huila beans from Mad Lab and my pour at home

So, while I very much frequent my local coffee shops, I'm also a "home barista" and while Mad Lab not only has cafes, they are also a roaster (it's in the name)! It wasn't until recently that I purchased a bag of one of their frequently used beans in the Del Rey location. I asked the barista the name of the beans they had that day as I thoroughly enjoyed the cup from earlier. They have freshly roasted beans at the counter. They have several varieties of beans at the counter and always look for the roasting date on the bottom of the bag to make sure it is roasted within two weeks or so for the best flavor out of your beans! Also don't be afraid to ask the barista for recommendations. They are always friendly and engaging. Today's bean recommendation was Huila - a Columbian bean that I think tastes great from my usual latte! It took a while for me to dial-in my beans (I'm still a beginner) but its a nice pull I have to say. Check out their IG as they post which beans are being used at each of their locations! That's awesome.

Cute little coffee spot. Only one person was working, so be nice to her! She was nice to us! I mean, any coffee or matcha lover knows the quality of a drink is based on the color inside the cup. So if I can't let the picture speak for itself, it was really flippin good. Worth the stop

An L.A. based coffee roaster with fresh, bright flavors and a community-oriented feel. As a big coffee person, appreciated the chance to try an LA roaster. Today, their house coffee was Colombia Bryan Smith and the espresso the Doc Brown blend (?) I tasted the house coffee which was unique and very solid. We got the Americano ($4) and The Dolly ($7). The flavor notes of the espresso really shined through even for the Americano! The Dolly has their specialty syrup. We got less ice and sweetener but next time will just do it regular.

The coffee was fine, nothing that necessarily stands out to me in any way. I ordered candied yams and my girl got a regular matcha. My coffee didn't have much flavor, but I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and say that maybe it was because I ordered it iced? The place itself had a cool atmosphere, and parking fortunately wasn't an issue, the menu was a bit unclear for certain drinks, and the service was okay.

I was sad then I drank coffee and lifted weights I feel better now. That said let's begin this mad review! :D Mad Lab Coffee Roasters is a tiny coffee shop on Pico blvd and Carmona ave in Culver City, LA. They offer a modest selection of coffee, tea and specialty drinks on their menu. Similarly, they have pastries, merch and bean bags for customers. This coffee shop has limited indoor and outdoor seats. I was on the mood of a new coffee shop adventure and I end up choosing this shop. I came on a warm Easter weekend and I was warmly greeted by a female barista. I perused their menu and order an Iced Sencha Green Tea. It's packed with antioxidants, supports heart health, boosts metabolism, and can enhance focus while reducing stress. I really liked it. Atmosphere was cool. Prices were reasonable and competitive. Street parking only. Staff was competent. Overall, it's a humble little coffee shop.

They keep it fun and new with various coffee and latte creations. Lately I enjoy the espresso or cold brew drink without milk. I love the various espresso iced with soda drinks. Less calories and lots of caffeine kick! Today I had a Fig Figtion cold brew with fig drink. While not carbonated it was not too sweet and I "get" maybe taste, the "Old Fashioned " reference. The slice of orange on top made it look cool too! The only negative here is parking is difficult and while on weekends a lot of people hang out, but for me it's not a warm comfy place sit and drink or do work. But the drinks are great

    Azuki Latte

Stopped by Mad Lab for my Sunday morning coffee on vacation in Hollywood, CA. I tried the Azuki Latte because I'd never seen that flavor combo before: sweetened red bean paste and sesame. Very smooth and nutty, a nice change up. It's pretty calm and cool at 9am on Sunset Blvd - sitting at their outdoor tables - enjoying my latte, a cool breeze, and pretty tame people watching.

Cute little cafe on a corner in Culver City. I stopped by on my way to run errands. Seems like a great place to study, work, or catch up with friends. Service is friendly but can be a little slow when busy. Drinks are decent! Standard coffee menu with some food items and grab n go as well. Parking can be tricky because it's all street parking and confusing time restrictions

It all started with the peculiar design of the cup that got me hooked and triggered my curiosity to pay the coffee shop a visit. Yep, that skeleton on the green cup. The cute coffee shop was located right at the intersection between Inglewood and Culver Boulevard, two busy roads making it bit tricky to find parking. The place was cozy and pretty quiet other than the background music, as most guests were on their own gadgets. It was pretty busy throughout the day even on weekday, I guess with the location being strategic. The service was swift and the barista was super friendly. I tried their Dolly, which was basically latte with Demerara sugar. I would say their coffee was pretty strong and tad acidic, so probably would suit those loving that kind of notes for their cup of joe. I would say it's pretty decent, despite wouldn't call it my top list.

Cute little cafe in Culver City! Great place to work, co-work, and just catch up with a coffee. Interior is cozy and has some seating. Service was also good, and I ordered a Mocha Latte which tasted good and was a nice size as well. Will be back to grab a coffee and get some laptop work done!

one shot of espresso (half caf) Cherry Pie Latte
    Nandini R.

Not a bad spot on the west side at all, and the service was super great and friendly! I ordered the cherry pie latte and it was delicious. Reason for 4 stars is that the seating was pretty limited, and they don't offer decaf espresso. They seemed to have a decent food menu and pastries but I didn't get a good enough look at the menu. Also: not a reason I deducted a star, but street parking is def hard around here, but that's just LA!

It barely had any sugar in it, which I loved because coffee shops usually never have healthier options. He also really liked it, which is a win! I also tried the vegan chocolate chip cookie and shared it with two other people so we could all give it a try. We all loved it! I got the Iced 7th Inning Stretch, and mannnn oh man, it really shocked me with how unique the color and the taste were! Like I've said before, sadly some coffee shops have the looks but not the taste. This place has both, win win again! My boyfriend got the hot mocha latte, and that was really good too. Service: The cashier was super nice, and I told her it was my first time visiting. She explained every seasonal drink they had and even let me know one of them had peanut butter in it in case I had any allergies. I really appreciated that! Good thing I gave it a try because I usually don't like peanut butter, but this was so good (honestly, I couldn't even taste the peanut butter for anyone who's like me). I ended up going back and ordering another drink. This time it was another cashier, and she was just as nice! I asked for it without ice and explained how I still wanted it to taste really good and not watered down. She said she'd do me the favor of separating everything into cups. That kind of service is definitely memorable! Ambiance: Inside was super cute. I loved that there were small tables for people coming alone, and there was also a huge table in the back near the restroom with a big window that could seat at least 5-7 people. They had music playing but at a nice, comfortable level. Parking was super easy to find outside. I didn't ask if they have a parking structure, but they might. The only thing I didn't like was that there were no toilet seat covers in the restroom. It was super clean, but I always like to use those just to be safe. That's the only thing I'd say needs a little work. Overall, 10/10 for customer service, ambiance, and food/drinks! I will definitely be coming back!

As I was working through my message, I had the idea to include a visual illustration--a charcuterie setup to represent the abundant life Jesus offers. Right away, I thought of Alex and Olivia at Joliet Cafe. I've enjoyed Joliet Cafe for years-- whether I've come by in the day to get delicious coffee, or enjoyed the restaurant on a romantic night out with the wife - the food is always outstanding. Alex is truly a masterful chef! So just a couple of weeks before Easter, I reached out with this idea. Not only was he open to it, but he took the time to understand the vision and bring it to life. On the day of, Alex arrived early and prepared a beautiful, abundant "feast" that fit the message perfectly. It didn't just look incredible--it tasted amazing. After the service, we placed the charcuterie next to our lunch table, and it was gone quickly! So many people commented on how delicious and well-presented everything was. I share all this to say: Alex's professionalism, creativity, skill, and flexibility make him an incredible choice for charcuterie boards, catering, or any culinary service. He truly delivers--and you will not be disappointed. Thank you again for helping make Easter such a meaningful and special day!

While their coffee is a bit of a lighter roast than I prefer, their current spring special - a Sakura black sesame Hojicha latte is easily one of the BEST Hojicha drinks I've ever had, and I hope they keep it on the menu or introduce more Hojicha drinks to the lineup.
