I'd been longing for a new aesthetic coffeeshop in the Culver area, and my wishes were answered when Leilo opened, sometime at the end of 2025 I believe. I've been to Leilo a few times now and I always enjoy my drinks here. The interior is chic and gorgeous, and they have free WiFi, so I've been planning to come here one morning to do some laptop work. Baristas are generally pretty friendly. They have a range of regular drinks and seasonal drinks that are always tempting (one of my personal favorites was the carrot cake latte). Cute café that opened not too long ago. It's a popular neighborhood spot, with plenty of patrons coming in and out throughout the day. There's lots of street parking in the residential area, although it might be difficult to find a spot during some parts of the day. However, I found the drinks just-okay: I opted for a matcha latte with oat milk (plis extra shot of matcha) and the Orange Velvet. The former was strong in matcha taste, but the matcha wasn't well-incorporated, and I still found the drink too oat milk-forward. Not my favorite, unfortunately. The Orange Velvet was innovative, with an Americano base and orange juice foam on top: the first sip was a bit disconcerting, as the acidity of the orange juice hadn't quite mixed in with the bitterness of the Americano; however, once I mixed the drink, it tasted a bit better, more blended for a smoother taste. Overall, an-okay café, but I think the drinks just weren't my style. Service was nice and friendly, even if a bit slow, but otherwise, I'm glad I got to try Leilo, another addition to the neighborhood. read more

Came here after seeing a video on Instagram and the coffee looked good. Saw what kind of coffee they serve and I knew this was a place that I needed to come to. Got there before opened so had to wait a bit and it was worth it! The location is small but feels welcoming, answered my questions and made suggestions. Both of my options were the right ones. The espresso was nicely pulled and balanced and the Elderberry Orange drink was very unique. First time at Leilo Culver City and I loved the vibe. The space has a warm, terracotta, New Mexico-inspired aesthetic that feels really thoughtfully designed. I ordered the Brazilian matcha lemonade with condensed milk (half sweet) and it was delicious refreshing with just the right balance. The staff suggested half sweet for me since I said I wanted a balance, and half sweet was perfect. 5/5 It's a great alternative to being right in downtown Culver City, where parking can be tougher. I'm not usually in Culver City but if I'm ever back I'll definitely stop by again. This little shop is in the corner of a neighborhood entrance. Very quiet and clean and cute! You can definitely find street parking with only a short walk to the shop. The vibes were amazing. I went early and was there for a bit so I saw it go from only a few people to lines outside the store. They have both indoor and outdoor seating so you have options. Looks like there is also a bathroom available inside. The workers were super attentive and welcoming. The music was 10/10. Now, the coffee. This review is purely based on their matcha. I think their matcha is above average for west side standards, but below average in comparison to ktown matcha spots. I loved the hint of Jasmine flavor on their Matcha Snow, but the matcha itself was a bit grainy and grassy in my opinion. Leilo Coffee is a very nice neighborhood spot very close to Culver Blvd and Overland. There really isn't much else there around it. Unfortunately there's not a lot of parking which can be a problem. We tried to go early one day and it was packed. When we couldn't find a place to park we decided it just wasn't our day. Ended up coming back later on a Sunday afternoon when the line was gone. It looks nice on the inside, on the modern side but not so minimalist as a Blue Bottle. The colors were well chosen. There is a fair amount of seating with small round metal tables inside. Outside it was very comfortable with nice tables and chairs. It was very shady on the East side in the afternoon, actually quite pleasant. The latte I had was respectable. The pastries we had were very solid also (cardamon bun and butter croissant). While I might not consider it one of my top coffee "destinations", Leilo is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

Small cute coffee shop in Culver City! The location is rather small with few seats inside, however there is plenty of seating to use outdoors so it's a great way to maximize their space. Staff was friendly and welcoming and super helpful with choices for first timers. I stopped by because I was attending a pop up and had the luxury of trying the carrot cake latte. Amazing little coffee shop! The service was excellent, we got recommended a different drink each based on what we told them and they all exceeded expectations. We got the carrot cake latte which was very unique. The cream cheese foam and biscoff bits were a great addition. The carrot cake taste is not that evident but the pairing is good. The matcha snow was also delicious. I got a coconut foam edition they had and it made my matcha have a lovely texture and a great coconut flavor. We also got the strawberry matcha and the strawberry flavor was one of the better ones I've tasted. It's not too artificial and the texture is velvety and smooth. Super cool spot with very friendly staff. The place was hopping both days I visited--and I came two days in a row because I loved it. Still in their soft opening period, the cafe only opens until 2pm in the afternoon and offers limited options of drinks and nibbles. I visited quite late and they did say that most pastries were out early in the day so what's displayed wasn't the full selections. The terracota-colored venue somewhat gave bit of BOHO touch but it's very iconic. Plenty of seats available if I took into account the outdoor area by the curbside, but each of the table pretty much accomodated 2 people max. I went for their signature Hot Maple Cinnamon Cappuccino, served in 8oz size. The iced one would be slightly bigger at 10oz. It was pretty strong, and prolly not suited my preference best as it's more on the acidic note. I did like the sweet maple flavor blended with cinnamon powder on top. I was so excited that a new neighborhood coffee shop had opened in a more sleepy, suburban part of Culver City, and I decided to stop by this morning to check out their soft opening and get a cup of joe this morning before Pilates. While I theoretically love the concept- a minimalistic, aesthetic space with artisan crafted matcha and coffee drinks, I felt like the quality of their drinks and speed of service still needs some work. I arrived at 10:20 to a small line, but it took until 10:40 to get to the front of the line and 10:50 to get my drink. I understand that a) this isn't Starbucks and b) it's their soft opening and they're still sorting out kinks especially with a busy weekend morning rush, but the efficiency felt limited due to the fact that there was only one cashier, who often had to step away since he was also hand mixing the matcha, pouring the latte art, and adding the finishing touches to the drinks. I felt like these tasks could have been delegated to the 4 other employees all jammed behind the small coffee bar, while the cashier focused on taking orders to prevent a line build up at the door. Onto the drinks - I ordered a regular latte with their special seasonal espresso, and to say I was disappointed is an understatement, especially considering how expensive and nice their espresso machine is. With add-ons like oat milk, the seasonal espresso, and vanilla syrup, my drink came out to $8 for a small cup. The espresso itself was not flavorful and even almost bitter, and the latte was so muted that it tasted almost like a flat white. The cafe itself is beautiful, but the seating is a bit cramped especially with the line to order blocking one entrance, and both indoor and outdoor seating is a bit better for waiting/conversing than sitting down and doing work. I also think they need to add a sign to watch your step at their back entrance (near the bathroom), since there's a six inch drop from the cafe floor to the sidewalk outside that almost made me trip and drop my coffee. Overall, I see a lot of potential for this coffee shop, but I'd give them some time to sort out their operations and for the lines to die down before coming back again. read more

I came here today with my sister, my cousin, and his girlfriend for coffee. It was very busy around 2:30pm until closing. They have seating inside and outside. It is small, but it is very aesthetic and has great staff. I usually avoid sweet drinks, but I was told their maple cinnamon cappuccino is popular. I got that half-sweet, which I liked. The metal on clay aesthetic here is really memorable. They sell (and presumably serve) SEY Coffee. I got the shaken espresso, which was slightly floral and fruity. It leans on the more acidic end, but it was very refreshing! They use really good ice cubes that don't water the drink down at all.
