Chai and matcha
Su L.

I don't know when Muso opened in West Adams but I made it here in January 2025 and wish I'd discovered them sooner. I came here around 9:30 am on a Sunday morning and the coffeeshop was super quiet. There was no line to order and the staff who were working were friendly and welcoming. There are a couple of seats inside the coffeeshop but it's very tight inside. Most of the seating is outdoors, and there are a mixture of low tables and chairs, as well as benches that are more optimal for anyone who wants to work on a laptop. I got two drinks, which came out very quickly. I got the coconut matcha cream top and the chai latte. Both were excellent. The coconut matcha would be a refreshing drink on a hotter day. The chai latte was comforting, and not super sweet as they can be sometimes. I'd rank this as one of my favorite coffee shops in LA and will be back.

mu.sō Coffee is such a beautiful addition to the West Adams area. The space is clean and modern, with a calm, welcoming vibe that makes it a great place to relax or get a little work done. Although the shop itself is on the smaller side, there's a large outdoor patio that gives you plenty of space to sit and enjoy your coffee. Dogs are welcome, and you'll usually see plenty of them on weekends. The coffee is consistently delicious, and I love their creative cold foams, which are usually seasonal and always fun to try. The chocolate chip cookie is also a must. Customer service is great. Street parking only, but it's usually manageable.

Creative drinks, nice + big patio, lots of street parking. Our barista was friendly and the drinks were beautiful. I got the lychee matcha and my partner got the guava matcha. I preferred the lychee matcha, but it's good to know that it's not a matcha latte like I thought it was.

Note: this is a review on only one drink and I will provide an updated review as I try more drinks. Previous yelpers mentioned that this coffee shop is kind of hidden while lots of patio seating and little indoor seating. Upon glancing at the menu we were drawn to lychee nectar matcha cream top. We decided to give it ago. We also wanted to try the breakfast burritos but they were sadly unavailable. Upon receiving it, we noted it had a a citrus taste - kind of like orange Yakult with a strong kick of matcha. It was a unique taste - but not bad at all, I would get this again. I want to come back and try the dutch mocha along with a standard latte and update this review but for now this gets a 5.

Coffee is solid, they have a court yard where you can chill and read or do work. WiFi is okay, I haven't tried video calls or anything but it seemed like you could browse the web on mobile and stuff. Service is friendly, there's a parking lot that cliffs of id uses for the overflow lot that's walking distance from this coffee shop. They used to have a discount for cliffs of id members, can't remember if it was temporary or not.

Beautiful location. Shop itself is pretty small, but there's plenty of seating outside. Drinks menu was straightforward with some unique flavors and staff was really friendly. Got the lychee nectar matcha cloud, Guava matcha latte, and brownie. Drinks were both pretty solid in terms of matcha. Their elements could be a tad more sweeter for me. Lychee nectar has that sour profile so I wished the matcha foam was a tad sweeter to negate that. And the guava puree was on the tart side as well so I wished that to be a bit sweeter too. Brownie was really good. I recommend getting coffee if ordering that. The texture of it basically melted away inside your mouth.

The first thing that's undeniable at this place is how beautifully it's designed. I'm a big fan of the minimalist storefront and interior, while still maintaining personality through the fridge of offerings (never seen a fridge burrito in a cafe), cozy seating, and some books to flip through while enjoying your drink. The outdoor seating area of course is a huge up - great for studying, reading, or a weekend yap session with a good friend. Onto the drink - I got a Lavender Cream Top Americano. Drinks overall are on the pricier side and this wasn't an exception, but I could at least tell the coffee quality was good! The lavender cream is also quite tasty and and the shop doesn't skimp on the amount to allow you taste the drink as a whole rather then as two separate layers. The owner was prompt at taking our order and could tell the team was working efficiently together on a busy Saturday afternoon. Slight nitpick, but would've liked maybe just some info on the bag of beans for sale even if it's not a huge draw if the shop, even just stating it's the shop's espresso blend would be nice to know for those who might want a bag.

This cafe is great for relaxing and is a beautiful place to take pictures or draw at. There's both inside and outdoor seating and the entire property is very very spacious. Great for large groups or for a solo trip! I had gone on a Sunday afternoon and it was not too crowded and fairly quiet. Love that they don't blast music. The drinks are on the pricier side but they did taste pretty good so I would recommend this place for people who love visiting nice spaces as one off trips. LYCHEE NECTAR MATCHA CREAM TOP (7/10) - $9 Got this drink since I've never seen a lychee matcha drink. Great for those who are lychee lovers! Personally I don't love the lychee nectar but my boyfriend who does really liked it. The drink is not too sweet and has a very subtle tangy taste. - free street parking - Lots of seating for large groups, duos, and solos - Free WiFi - Bathrooms available downstairs - Sells both drinks and pasteries! - Dog friendly This cafe is great for relaxing and is a beautiful place to take pictures or draw at. guava matcha

last week I went here with my coworker to try out some drinks, and I had my eye on the guava matcha. the place itself is very nice inside and outside too. there's a lot of tables outside that get the right amount of sunlight and it's a bit tucked away from the street view which is great. they have a bathroom downstairs that I believe they share with another business, just ask for the key. street parking is available around the cafe. so I ordered my guava matcha while she ordered the dutch mocha, and then we both got the Virtu protein bowls which I have had at another cafe (I think Virtu makes their bowls in an unknown location then sells them to cafes), it's always tasty just expensive lol. the matcha was honestly not my fav! the guava flavor at the bottom was delicious and fruity, but the matcha had no sweetness whatsoever so once the guava was mixed in, the drink tasted like nothing. I had to add some simple syrup at their little drink station but I wish it already had come a bit sweet. my coworker did enjoy the dutch mocha but she also had the same complaint as I did, it was barely sweet. that's really the only downside but I suppose it's good if you like your drinks without any sugar at all lol.

Love the outdoor patio + the matcha foam lychee nectar!! We tried the iced americano with lavender foam + lychee nectar with matcha foam. The latter definitely steals the spotlight. The foam consistency is thick and creamy, paired well with lychee nectar. Most other cafe offers coconut water with matcha, so I was super excited to try with lychee nectar. It did not disappoint!

Came here for a coffee while finishing up my morning walk. I got an iced Dutch mocha. It was pretty good. Rich in taste and gave me an extra kick to finish my jog. At $6.50, it's reasonably priced as well. Wasn't able to try any of the food, so I'll have to come back for that.

Espresso tonic

Cute selection of drinks, with standout espresso. I bought a bag of their minimalist branded house seasonal drip, and enjoyed my first cup this morning. Service can occasionally be a little curt from some of their baristas, but that's my only complaint.

Our waiter was personable and took our order quickly as well as consistently replenished our drinking water. Everything was delicious and had its own unique flavor, from the chickpea fritters which had softness and crunchiness, the goat mousse with sweet and savory sauces and the crumpets and crackers; then the goat belly with a deliciously crisp skin and soft inside and intense flavor (but not gamey) with a rich sauce, the steak was yummy and precut, and the pork shank which was epic! I loved all the greens and pita to wrap the pork and goodies into! We ended with a bday scoop of mango sticky ice cream which was completely different than I've had before and yummy.

With things like goat curry and gluten free options, you gotta have rice. Second, they ran out of goat curry. I came all the way from San Diego to try it. Oh well. Excuse to come back. I loved every bite I tried. There was nothing that disappointed. The standouts were the green beans, the Brussels sprouts that came with the chicken, the pork shank and the tuna and crunchy quinoa salad. I'm still thinking of that crunchy quinoa. We had no room for dessert. So maybe next time we try the goat curry, get the quinoa salad again and get dessert! The service was great too. Attentive but not overbearing. It's a cute restaurant both inside and outside.

My wife and I stopped here a few weekends back for lunch and I was pleasantly surprised with just how much I enjoyed the food. The ambiance here is pretty generic, white and bright and very copy and paste of a lot of places popping up recently. The staff was super friendly while taking our orders and dropping the food off, which is always appreciated. I ended up ordering the Santo's Turkey Melt which is smoked turkey, grilled onions, Swiss cheese, and chipotle aioli served on sourdough with a side of french fries. The sandwich was really good and the same can be said for the french fries and I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of fries given, so thumbs up to that. I forgot what the food costs so I visited the website and for some reason they don't think it's important to put that online, which is pretty darn stupid if you ask me.
