I have been meaning to try this place out for months. I got tired of waiting on people so I went by myself on a weekend. What had previously intrigued me was the fridge cigarette coffee drink and their aesthetics. I ordered an Avo toast and of course the fridge cigarette (chilled espresso, with Diet Coke and I added cold foam). The Avo toast was okay - what you would expect it to taste like. I personally like mine with a little bit of kick - either chili crunch oil or some chili flakes. The drink was really good too - I do wish the espresso was a bit more like a double so it could be stronger. Because I still wanted to taste the coffee flavor together with the coke but I felt like the coffee needed to be a bit stronger so the coke didn't overpower the flavor. But still good. I want to try the short stack next, which looks like a yummy drink. The aesthetic and design was very cool and retro. The place was packed and I think I was the only person who didn't have a laptop. So it definitely seems like a chill place for people to work/study. The chef who also assisted me with my order was super cool and helpful. Told me about events that they have and that they expanded their hours until 7 pm and do a happy hour from 5-7 pm. She said it's more of a wine bar at that time. I'm definitely going to come back for that after work. Price point is what you would expect from a trendy LA coffee and wine bar. I think my bill came out to $32 for the Avo roast, fridge cigarette ($2 added for cold foam) and I also got a custom lighter (lighter with diet coke logo wrapped). I would recommend this place for either a chill coffee get together/date or by yourself like I did , or in the evening for their more wine bar vibe for happy hour. read more

For $10+, you would get a much better deal at any of the other overhyped matcha places. 4++ A small cafe/ coffee shop with a relaxed, cozy vibe. This place is located at the base of a residential building (I think - either that or offices?). The folks here were very friendly. I was in the area for the weekend and was looking for a walkable place to grab some breakfast. I came here to try the cachapa - a Venezuelan style corn pancake served with queso, butter, and whipped cream. It was more on the savory side and wasn't too sweet. I thought it was delicious. The coffee was solid too. I sat in an area outside, so it was dog friendly. As for parking this area could be a little congested. To be fair I haven't tried the food or matcha drinks, or wine - but I have tried many of the drinks on the coffee menu, and they were all quite bad. The toughest part is they are wildly expensive, and the staff will sneakily suggest things without mentioning that they are extra cost of $2+. The one I got today was over $12 and it was so bad I couldn't drink it. I really tried, then brought it to the counter and mentioned it, and they had no response. There was also no mention or notice that their wifi system is down (and possibly gone, because the password used to be on the bottom of the menu and now it's not). They also promote a Blackbird app deal on a sign at the front door and then didn't apply the deal when I went through the whole app process and communicated that I was doing that. With no drink, lost money, and no wifi, I tried to survive on my hotspot for a bit, but they were also blasting the music so loudly I couldn't hear myself think. I've tried to give this place many chances as I do appreciate the later hours and large indoor seating area, but will not be coming back. read more

From the moment my boyfriend and I walked up to the coffee shop the staff was so friendly Natalia and Claudia, and one of the baristas Claudia even opened the door for us to enter. The cafe is cozy and modern, like a San Francisco tech vibe, nice music playing, low decibel for easy to conversation. The coffee wasn't very acidic thankfully Perfect balance with my oat milk. The Avacados toast here is on another level I can't explain how awesome it was, but the flavors were soooo intense. The radish and quinoa were a nice touch. Perfect for breakfast. Really enjoyed myself here! The staff were super sweet and very knowledgeable. The atmosphere was super cozy, a great place to either catch up with friends or get some work done. The music was mainly jazz and it was perfect. If you enjoy the taste of coffee then I think you'll enjoy the coffee here, I certainly did. As for the food, I absolutely LOVED the Cachapa. TROPICOQUETA Guava-forward matcha drink. A little bit of fizz. There was an extra mineral taste. Could be from the carbonated water. Matcha was okay. But it didn't shine. It tasted muddled. It wasn't good. I always want to try mango mixed matchas, but this one was a letdown. CUSTOMER SERVICE Friendly service. Greeted as I first walked in and the barista even offered to answer any questions in regards to their menu. She was very easy-going and was not rushing me to order, which was nice. INDOOR + OUTDOOR SEATS Indoor sofas, tables, seats and bar seats. Outdoor tables and seats available. Very relaxed vibe overall. Most of the seats and tables were occupied and most people were there working on their laptops. PARKING There is a parking garage right next to Noun, but it is not free parking. I did not park there. Discovered this spot a on TikTok and went later that day. Great vibes. Went with the "short stack" drink, so so good. The sea salt is an amazing touch. I also got the chocolate cookie with cardamom, which I never heard of before. It was... Different. Not the biggest fan, but the cookie was still tasty and the big chocolate piece on it helped. Came here on a rainy Saturday afternoon with a friend. Street parking was easy to find. Plenty of seating inside and outside. Perfect for working or catching up with a friend They sell lots of goodies, beans, matcha kits, Palestinian olive oil, etc Noun Coffee on a rainy day feels like a warm hug. I really Loved the Honeyama matcha latte. I was excited to see that Marina Del Rey got a new coffeeshop with a nice aesthetic, this area has needed one for way too long. We came around 7 am on a weekday morning and got parking right outside. It didn't look like they had their own dedicated carpark. Noun's interior is cozy and gorgeous. It's the best thing about this place. Service was friendly and welcoming. We were surprised to find that they didn't have some regular espresso-based drinks, like lattes or flat whites. They had their own drink creations, which I appreciated, but it was unusual that they didn't offer the basics. I got a matcha latte which tasted mostly like almond milk, and my husband, who normally orders flat whites, had to get one of their specialty drinks, which was way too sweet for him. He also ordered a breakfast item which he didn't enjoy. I may try this place again when they're more established. read more

I live in Santa Monica and was really looking forward to trying this new coffee place. I saw posts on social media and was impressed by the cozy vibes. The customer service was excellent, but the coffee itself was just ok. I'm paying $8 for a cup of coffee; it better be good than the one I have at home. First, I tried a pumpkin iced coffee, which was too sweet for me, so I asked the barista to make me a new one, which was the golden hour. This is a great new cafe for working, great interior and exterior space with lots of tables! I most recently got the Yuzu Dream which was unique and great for a summer day, but I've also had matcha here as well that was good. I love that they are open day and night as a great meet up or working spot. I will say that the prices are a bit high, I can understand this is a new spot and I love to support local but the yuzu dream was basically yuzu and sparkling water and it was almost $9 which is a bit steep in my opinion. Unfortunately, I think the more interesting thing I've noticed both times I've been here is that the service is a bit lacking, I was the only person there ordering a drink and there were 4 employees and it still took a solid 5 minutes for them to make a flavored sparkling water drink and they were openly talking to each other about "oh we don't have that ingredient so we use that instead" which felt odd since I had already ordered and paid and then they didn't provide me any context? lol just kinda odd. Typically I'd expect the pour over to be served in a warm cup (e.g., warmed with hot water) but it wasn't. We parked on the street, it's next to an apartment though so you may be able to park in their garage. Definitely a cozy space, but for the price and quality, I'd rather go somewhere else for coffee. I get they use ceremonial, but they use maybe 2.5 grams and it tastes water down, along with the color being super pale green. The matcha itself is high quality but skimping on the grams makes the latte hard to drink, it just taste like milk. First impression on Noun Cafe was it gave me that artsy and contemporary co-working space vibe. Lo-fi background music, aesthetic design, with plenty of seats occupying various needs. Cozy couches for those who just hanged and chill, bigger group table that could accommodate people meeting-up or even working/studying together, and individual table for whom working on their own. This space used to be occupied by another coffee shop, which only opened until early afternoon so I was so excited knowing a brand new cafe now took it over and opened until pretty late in the evening every weekends. Seeing the vibe energized me even more especially having its location being so close to me, so I could easily hopped there when I fancied ambiance change and got fed up with my home working desk. They did offer plenty of food options throughout the day, various options of tea and coffee based drinks, and even alcoholic drinks since they did sell themselves as coffee and wine spot. Soaking under the sun watching the Glencoe traffic was another choice offered and the space was nicely well-shaded. I got 'The Usual', which was their version of Iced Vanilla Latte, served with house-made vanilla syrup. Selling their in-house blend as well, they offered stellar medium-bodied coffee and I fell for their vanilla syrup which came as perfect pair to the coffee. With plenty of seats available and speedy service, the place doubltlessly made it to my regular to-go list now. read more

I was pleasantly surprised to find this cozy coffee shop in Marina Del Rey just a short drive from the nearby Costco. I had the Gold Rush latte (espresso, dulce, autumnal spices) and Cachapa (a Venezuelan sweet corn pancake stuffed with a hard cheese; their version has whipped cream and lime zest on top) - both of which I thought were delicious. Love this cute coffee shop/bar in MDR Arts District!! Very convenient fully automated parking structure that is very reasonably priced. Very nice ambiance. Employees are very friendly and helpful with menu perusal/make choices. Short stack coffee drink is a fantastic ''treat'' as it's quite sweet but with nice balance of cardamom spice and espresso notes. The Heavenly Matcha is truly heavenly. Perfect amount of earthiness but sweetness and matcha is very good quality. Don't sleep on their pastries or food options. Pan au chocolat is fantastic. This is a great location, I'm honestly surprised there aren't more cool coffee shops around the area! The staff is always really kind and friendly, which I appreciate. The coffee, matcha is decent, and expensive. Food is decent.. My biggest note would be the temperature inside. The AC doesn't always seem to be on, and it can get pretty hot, especially on warmer days. I often end up ordering a cold drink because of the temperature, even though I actually prefer hot coffee. A couple of hooks in the bathroom for bags would be really helpful! Overall, a nice spot with kind staff and a great location. read more

Tried to come back from my not good experience 8 months ago with the no taste matcha, my friend said can we try? I said sure!!! We ordered an ice coffee and she could not stop laughing! She was like that coffee taste ok but is a small glass cup! Then we ordered a banana bread to share and it tasted seriously like rubber. I really wanted to like it here... Going to a neighborhood coffee shop, I expect good service, good food/drinks, & consistency. Sadly the customer service is lacking, their food menu changes constantly, &the drinks are mid. Last time I came, they weren't busy and we decided to try a new food item. We finished our drinks and after some time passed, went up to the server to check on our food. They were talking to eachother so I politely waited. It's an open kitchen so i knew they could see me and figured they wouldn't leave me hanging... After an uncomfortable amount of time, I interrupted their convo & asked if they already started on the food. He acted annoyed and told me it was already being made.
