Went to Cha Cha today excited to try their matcha and ended up ordering the Strawberry Matcha. The service was pretty eh nothing terrible, but there wasn't much of an inviting or welcoming energy. I watched them make my drink, and almost the entire cup was just light pink milk. There weren't any strawberries in sight. It was about 3/4 pink milk before they poured the matcha on top. When the barista handed me my drink, the lid immediately popped off and almost the entire matcha on top spilled. Overall this was a 3.5 star experience but I didn't feel like it should be bumped to 4 stars :/ this location sadly doesn't have soft serve; their menu simply consists of coffee and matcha drinks. I wanted a strawberry matcha or an ube matcha (the purple drink) but didn't want to pay the $9 tbh. So I opted for a simple matcha latte, sweetened with vanilla. I didn't realize it was an up charge but the barista kindly waived the fee. The vanilla is not a syrup but like a vanilla bean extract so I was a little thrown to be tasting the vanilla bean at the bottom of my matcha latte. A reminder to mix well if you opt for the vanilla. Always passed this place in century city and decided to finally give it a try, especially because it's so aesthetically appealing. I got a hot matcha latte with oat milk and my sister got a chai matcha with almond milk. When my sister's drink was ready and she tried it, she was so confused because she couldn't taste any chai whatsoever. She then asked the barista who acknowledged she misread the order slip and apologized. My matcha was honestly very bland. I had to add a little bit of the simple syrup to balance out the flavor. Neither one of us really loved our drinks all that much. If this was just a regular cafe of brunch spot that served matcha drinks, it would be fine, but this is a matcha spot - meaning, the matcha should be next level IMO, and unfortunately, it was not that great. Perhaps an off day. Total cost for both drinks was $14. Also, the place was a mess, as beautiful as the design is, it was so dirty in there. They are trash on the floor and counters. Recently on a matcha kick since trying Blank Street Coffee's matcha in London (5/5 stars). Was at Westfield for lunch and when looking up coffee/matcha places on my phone I saw Cha Cha Matcha and decided to stop by. Aesthetically I give it a 5 out of 5 stars. So cute, beautiful colors and really looks chic and inviting! There was no music playing when we entered (today around 12pm) and as the only customers, it made the shop eerily quiet. Two employees were there when we entered- one behind the prep station and the other behind the register. Neither made eye contact with us when we walked in. Approached the register and the girl, looking down at her computer, asked what we wanted in a bored tone. Asked a question on sweetness and in explaining the answer, I felt she was giving a bit of attitude, almost like I asked a question I should know the answer to. Placed our order (only one drink for me) and went around the corner to wait for the drink. Watched the other girl make the drink and give it to me - no conversation, no smile, and only eye contact when I asked her a question. The drink was just ok (3/5), tasted bland and didn't feel like enough matcha. The branding and ambiance, however, were amazing, absolutely IG-worthy! But, the service and entire customer experience was so lackluster that I won't come back. There is so much competition these days with specialty drink shops, it's the ones with excellent drinks AND service that stand the test of time. I highly suggest some customer service training to the staff. Or at least caffeine before they start their shift to get them some energy! read more

The cha cha cloud's foam wasn't sweet or salty as advertised. They were such disappointments despite the pretty aesthetics. Service 2.5/5 The person at the cashier was nice and welcoming but the barista didn't have a smile on her face and looks agitated. I was trying to snap a photo of the drink as she was dusting some matcha on my drink and she said "I don't be in the picture" which I understand and respect but there's a way to say it. Maybe I went on an off day, because I've had a good experience at the Abbot Kinney location. Some customers gave off a very unsettling vibe. THIS STORE IS FRAUDULANT. CHECK YOUR BANK STATEMENTS. I came here on Thursday, April 30, 2026. I had originally purchased their pistachio cloud matcha & a tin of their matcha powder. The matcha powder came out to be $82.00. After some time thinking about it, I walked back in to return it, and they allowed me to return the matcha powder. They told me that since the charge is still 'pending', it was still going to show up as $99.00, but once everything has done being processed, it would show as the drink I bought. My bank statements have all been done processing and the charge was still $99.00. I have tried calling this store -- even talked to security to transfer me -- and no response on their end. I have filed a dispute claim with my bank and will never be coming back to this store. Also, if 99-82=17, why was the drink I purchased $17?? All I bought was a pistachio matcha and the matcha powder (that I tried to return). read more

The shop itself was cute, and we had been looking forward to visiting Cha Cha Matcha for a while -- it just happened to be the Century City one today. The interior was lovely, which made us even more excited walking in. Unfortunately, the experience quickly changed once we got inside. All three employees seemed visibly unhappy to be working there. One person took our order, but the process took quite a while because he kept needing to double-check things with the other two staff members. After placing the order, I noticed the person whisking the matcha was using a very worn-out whisk -- frayed and completely out of shape. It was also an electric whisk. When he finished, he placed it upside down, dripping matcha everywhere. I couldn't help but think that if another customer ordered matcha next, the same whisk would be used again without proper cleaning, which felt very unhygienic. It became even more concerning when the staff member preparing drinks kept touching and scratching her face with bare hands while handling milk and ice -- no gloves, no visible sanitation steps. At that point, it completely killed our matcha craving. We left feeling disappointed and honestly uncomfortable about the cleanliness and overall professionalism. It's hard not to think that people from Japan, where matcha preparation carries so much care and respect, would feel quite offended seeing it handled this way.
