This place has really exceptional beans, however, the so-called "Baristas" hired to the job do not know how to make coffee/pull espresso/steam milk professionally. And they're unbelievably rude/unprofessional toward customers too. To Eataly's senior managers -- properly and routinely train your staff how to make acceptable coffee drinks, for the majority of them, obviously, did not have coffee-making experience before you hire them, thus rendering the whole experience worthless! read more

As I enter my third decade I decided every time I experience something wonderful food and beverage or brick and mortar I'll talk about it. Anything short, as my grandmother said, may she Rest In Peace, miss you grand gram, don't talk about, negatively, just move on. This was an absolutely fantastic experience, I adore passionate people, know idea who helped me but passion was part of the equation. The cortado was the perfect 50/50 and then some. Don't know what the guy put in it, but I was flying in a happy place with each sip. The lady with the glasses at the pastry counter was fast, helpful and sort of bossy like my late Italian Grandmother. Bossy with love, making sure we got the best in our 24 box. My mother really noticed this and appreciated this, that she cared that we left with the best selection. My cousin enjoyed her latte and the americano was spot on, less water, more espresso. Right on, right on guys and gals. My paps wanted another Americano, but I had to distract him as we were going to eat at their pizza and pasta restaurant, which by the way, was perfect for our kids. Staff were so welcoming, personable, at first I thought we were on a show about to get punk'd, but it was real, these folks are good at what they do. I love Italians, I love Mexicans, I love cultures with passion, emotion, a lust for life. It was like going to church and not feeling guilty because I wanted to go. I knew it would be good. Worth the wait. Thank you to these hardworking folks for making me feel valued, appreciated. I will be back. God bless! Delicious espresso. Hubby and I each picked up a cup of espresso from here during our visit at Eataly. Hubby got the Espresso Salentino which is comes with almond milk and I got the Espresso Napolateno which comes with hazelnut cream. They each range from $4 - $6 depending on singles or doubles. The Salentino has a great aftertaste, almost floral from the almond milk that is used. The Napolateno is rich and the hazelnut cream adds so much additional flavor. Both are espresso shots are amazing. There's also a selection of delicious pastries and small bites but we didn't get the chance to try them this time. We can't wait to come back and try out their other espresso flavors! read more

This is one of our favorite family outings. We usually come to Eataly when visiting my parents and find a place to eat, we pick up fresh meats, cheeses and fish to take home and of course the dessert! Dessert has always been my favorite! It can get packed walking around and the lines can sometimes be long. But the quality of the food is always great. It's definitely like a little slice of Italy right in the middle of Los Angeles, and most importantly all in one location. I have loved getting fresh made salads, and pizza on the go...but as I mentioned the desert counter is my favorite! Come pick up some pastries for your next tea party, or just to indulge on! Nice to finally have a stand alone location for LavAzza. Love having their coffee and espressos when dining in restaurants, but now they have a place where I can try all of their products without having to spend on dinner I'm an Espresso guy, so I really like their single shot dark roast. I love their special spoon is is designed at an angle to properly mix your beverage. My son and wife got their Chocolata Calda which reminds me of Spanish chocolate, thick and creamy. Yum!!! I will be back to try their whole beans which are sold in 2.2 lb bags as well as the other items on the menu and pastry area. As one reviewer mentioned, the stand is a bit standoffish. Our go-to coffee spot, located at the entrance of Eataly. Serves 4 different roasts, and have enjoyed them all. Currently, the fav is espresso con panna with two extra shots, 1882 roast. Actually, con panna (generous whip cream ) is an awesome way to have some dairy & sweetness without let's say, drinking coffee flavored sweet milk. The guy who makes the coffee on weekdays in the AM is a, well, kinda guy who thinks this is his show. Coffee is usually okay, but really, who wants to listen to a lecture or a bunch of stuff while he talks up his regulars? Sometimes it can grow unpleasant as anything you say can and will be held against you if you just want to get your coffee and get going. Simply, this guy can be really unprofessional and at times incredibly rude and offensive; particularly when his regulars are standing having their coffee in the tiny space meant to pick up your order. UPDATE below... 1st time: Ok...this is the first ever time to any Eataliy and i am floored at how good it is! It has so many options, from an Italian full marketplace where there is a butcher and cheese shop - you can also get your Italian cravings for pasta, pizza, fish, cafes, pastries, and many more Italian specialties from their other little restaurants which are all inside this conglomerate that is the best of all Italy! After walking around and getting our surroundings we sat at the bar and just ordered a Marguerite pizza - it's where all pizzas should be judged - mama mia! They nailed it - you get an unforgettable crust and natural flavorful Ingredients with the mozzarella which is Bufala and the sauce, and the crust is soft, chewy, and crunchy - you practically melt at how good this bread is! I will say it's not a personal pie but about 6-7 slices on a tray. It's good but a bit pricey! I also ordered a Sangiovese - just a glass and the Aperol Spritz for the lady. The Aperol was great - I could have 3 of these! After our small taste of pizza - we sweetened it with 2 espressos and some pastries, a pure delight. Overall I recommend checking this place - it does bring you back to Italy and makes you appreciate the simpler things - and that simple ingredients can say so much to a dish! For the entrees she ordered the Pizza which came with fresh Italian sausage and mushroom and I ordered the Tangliatelle al Ragu. Man! That dough was to die for - they don't mess around those wood burning stoves for nothing. What a pie!! It was large enough for both us to share and then the pasta came. Al dente perfection! Great tasting coffee, but... they told us they don't have low fat milk and they don't make the coffee extra hot. So basically the coffee is lukewarm. Coffee is meant to be hot. If you don't mind your coffee lukewarm, then I recommend it since it's great tasting coffee. The staff is not friendly either and they are slowwww. I saw how they treated other people who were in front of me and it was sad. Bummer. read more
