I wasn't even planning on getting coffee today.
I was waiting for my Söbuneh Cali Burrito at The Colony ghost kitchen and was absolutely feral for caffeine because I didn't get a chance to grab any that morning. While wandering around, I noticed Craft Line Coffee.
Naturally, I looked them up on Yelp... and they barely had any reviews.
Immediate trust issues.
Living in LA has completely ruined me (in the best way). The coffee and matcha scene here is so good that my standards are pretty high, so I'm not easily impressed.
I started with the iced matcha.
You can always tell when a matcha isn't relying on sugar to do the heavy lifting. There's nowhere to hide. This one was creamy, bold, earthy, and within minutes I felt the caffeine kick I'd been praying for all morning.
It checked every box:
Flavor
Texture
Caffeine
While ordering, I asked the team member, "What's better here... the coffee or the matcha?"
Without missing a beat they said, "Both."
I'll be honest... I internally went, yeah okay.
In my experience, that's almost never true.
But because the matcha absolutely ate, I decided to trust them and ordered an iced latte too.
...Plot twist. They were 100% right.
The latte was rich, smooth, and actually strong without tasting burnt or bitter. If you're someone who wants to feel your coffee working, this is your spot. Because nothing hurts more than paying $7 for coffee that tastes mid and somehow still leaves you exhausted.
The vibe was also really nice. They have indoor seating, a shaded patio with bench seating and high tops, clean restrooms (which deserves its own honestly), plenty of paper towels, and I even noticed the staff regularly wiping down the counters with Lysol disinfectant spray. We love a place that actually cares about cleanliness.
After two back-to-back wins, I knew I had to leave a review.
I was low-key tempted to gatekeep... but I couldn't do it. They deserve their flowers.
Do yourself a favor and check them out. Hopefully this review helps them get the love they deserve, because more people need to know about this place. read more
