    Outside patio

Hidden gem in Century City Mall, stumbled upon it looking for a Brunch. Really nice outside patio and we loved the booth seating. The menu had vegetarian and vegan breakfasts. I ordered the oak milk Matcha and the Eggs Benedict. The food and service were top notch! Definitely, will be back!

Cafe Landwer is a Mediterranean-style restaurant located inside a large mall. We visited right at the start of lunchtime and noticed the restaurant filled up quickly soon after we were seated. Unfortunately, the service was a bit spotty, and it was difficult to flag down a server when we needed assistance. After we ordered, three of the four dishes arrived. When the staff noticed our food was still untouched, they checked in and asked the person without a plate whether they had ordered something. Since we didn't want to start eating without the missing dish, our food sat for a while. About ten minutes later, the fourth plate finally arrived. That said, all of the dishes looked fantastic, my plate in particular was both beautiful and delicious. If not for the service issues, this visit would have been nearly perfect.

Easy place to settle, comfortable spot with good coffee and genuinely attentive service. Tried the herb omelette with crushed potatoes. The omelette was light and fresh, and the potatoes, nicely cooked, well seasoned. It's straightforward food done right, in a space that feels relaxed.

    Tasty but poor portion

Not my first time ,probably my last. Food quality and portions went downhill from great to terrible. The only tasty thing was a salad and it was ridiculously small. Staff was very slow and had a feeling they could use help. Place needs a good cleaning and refreshment for sure. Hope someone will see it and take care of it.

Came here yesterday because my friend recommended it, and it did not disappoint. My pancakes were great, and although I can't remember the names of the dishes my husband and friends ordered (see pictures), everything they had was also delicious. My drink was really good too. I can't remember the name lol but it had cinnamon, orange, and ginger with a breakfast tea base, and it tasted like Christmas. The service was great as well. We didn't feel rushed at all, and the staff took the time to ask if we had any questions about the menu. They did forget my friend's Benedict at first, but they were very apologetic and made it right as soon as possible. The place itself is very pretty and does get busy as the day goes on. The bathroom was clean too, which I always appreciate. I'll definitely come back again when I'm in the LA area.

    Plain Hummus

Came in around 4 PM on a Monday and was seated immediately. Service was very nice, and the ambiance was cool and trendy. We ordered the plain hummus, spicy rigatoni, pasta verde, basque cheesecake, and a shot of espresso. The hummus and bread were great! Soft and really enjoyable. Both pastas were also tasty and cooked well. Unfortunately, dessert and drinks brought the experience down. The basque cheesecake started good and not too sweet, which I prefer, but I bit into part of a paper film still stuck to the bottom of the cheesecake. The espresso also had a chemical-like taste. Overall, some good dishes, but the issues made the experience less enjoyable.

    Landwer's Famous Schnitzel

I stopped by for dinner recently and had a decent dinner before heading back to shop with my friends. I ordered their famous schnitzel as it sounded pretty good and was one of their more popular items. I was sat down immediately at a table when I walked in and service was friendly and relatively quick. The schnitzel arrived after waiting around 10 minutes and was of a good portion size. The fries were crispy and they were well-cooked. They had some seasoning on them and weren't bland. The schnitzel was crispy and had a good crunch but was a little on the bland side and squeezing the lemon on top definitely helped. It wasn't memorable or anything to write home about. It was a good place to try in the mall but I would go for a different option in the mall if you want something worth more spending on.

Came to the new location on San Vicente blvd. We love it! Great food, beautiful place and friendly staff. I'm looking forward to come back.

    Lamb and Steak Kebab

Had a team meeting nearby and decided to grab lunch here. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with a few small hiccups. The food was surprisingly very good. I ordered the lamb and steak kebab. The meat was cooked very well and tender, though it could have used a bit more seasoning. The salad that came with it was fresh and flavorful. I was initially excited about the almond and sunflower seeds on top, but halfway through they started getting stuck in my teeth, which made it a little less enjoyable. The hummus bowls were excellent and definitely the standout dish for me. The pita was incredibly fluffy and paired perfectly with the hummus. We also tried their famous iced tea with fruit, which was refreshing. One of my colleagues ordered a freshly pressed green apple juice that was very tart, a bit too natural and sharp for our taste. Service was a bit slow and our dessert order got mixed up, but nothing too major. Overall, I'd still come back for a quick lunch.

My husband and I went to Cafe Landwer for the first time for lunch yesterday. We got there around 1 PM and it was not that busy. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I liked their decor and you get to choose your seating, assuming if it's not that busy. The only draw back was the bathroom. For the women's bathroom, one stall was out of order and the other was a complete mess but overall our experience was great! I ordered the chicken shawarma pita (not pictured) but the staff had messed up and put in the falafel pita instead. They had communicated to me the mistake, apologized, and said that I could keep both meals. I tried both stuffed pitas and I'm actually glad they messed up because I preferred the falafel over the chicken! They even gave us a dessert on the house which was so sweet. Service was definitely a 10/10 for us! My husband ordered the burger and enjoyed it! For a drink, I got their famous iced tea and wow!! It was so delicious and refreshing. If you're looking for a nice spot with great service and a good menu, I'd recommend Cafe Landwer. I look forward to coming back!

Wow wow such a nice restaurant with delicious food. Especially the chocolate dessert.. seriously to die for. Rameen and Luis are friendly and pleasant. We had really good time !!!

Landwer Burger. Delicious. Bun was amazing, beef was great and sweet potato fries were good too.

One of the best restaurants we have been to in California. From the food to the service, 10/10. The restaurant was cute and clean. Food was absolutely amazing. Food presentation was amazing, quality of food was delicious and service of food was quick. We were impressed and this place will definitely be on the go back to list! We loved it!

Cafe Landwer was a place that I really wanted to try because the menu items looked so good upon first glance. Server was nice and friendly and was sat immediately during lunch time. Ordered the schwarma sandwich + hummus plate. Everything was just mid. Sandwich just lacked a lot of flavor and the chicken was just plain to me. Hummus just lacked that flavor/saltiness. Not a place for me to visit again. Cute spot tho, but i dont think ill go out of my way to try it again. This is inside century city mall on the lower floors, so you have to park in the parking garage. First hour is free.

I made an OpenTable reservation about 10-15 minutes before arriving, and I'm glad I did because there was already a short line when we got there. There's valet parking for $13 for smaller cars/SUVs and $20 for larger trucks, plus tip, so definitely factor that into the meal cost. Street parking looked pretty difficult, so we were happy to just hand over the keys and not worry about it. Even with a reservation, we waited about 10 minutes. The restaurant is beautiful, and as you walk toward the dining room, you can see the fire blazing in the background. Unfortunately, our table was close enough to the fire that one side of us was basically being slow-roasted. We asked to move, and the staff was incredibly nice and switched us to another table immediately. Food-wise, this was definitely a mixed bag. The 26 oz prime ribeye ($185) was the biggest disappointment. I know it's an expensive special-occasion dish, and I saw a Yelp review calling it 10/10, so we thought, why not? Sadly, it was probably the worst ribeye I've ever had. There was a lot of silver skin/tough connective tissue throughout the meat, and for $185, I just don't think it was worth it. 1/5 for me. The grilled prawns were my favorite dish of the night and were excellent. My husband loved the lamb neck shawarma ($61). It was a little too rich for me, but I can see why he liked it, and at $61, it actually felt like one of the better values of the meal. We also enjoyed the duck hummus. The hummus with two pieces of pita was $19, but that definitely wasn't enough for three people, so we ordered two more pieces for another $10. That brought us to $29 for hummus and four pieces of pita. Delicious? Yes. A bargain? Absolutely not. Even in California, that's a lot of pita math. We also tried the Samira cocktail ($18), which they said was their most popular drink. It was good, but not particularly memorable for that price. There's also a 4% "Healthy LA" charge, so that's something to keep in mind when looking at the menu prices. For three people, our total was about $375 before tip, or a little over $120 per person. That's actually more than we spent at Nobu, so yes, I think Bavel is overpriced. But was the food good overall? Also yes. I'm glad we tried it, and I'd probably come back for the grilled prawns and maybe the shawarma. But the $185 ribeye? That one can stay at Bavel.
