We stayed at the Luxe Sunset Blvd Hotel and decided to try this restaurant for its convenience and the wide variety of dishes on the menu. Unfortunately, the experience was a bit underwhelming. We were the only guests in the restaurant, yet both the service and food took quite a while--about 20-30 mins. One of my friends was very excited to try the rigatoni bolognese, but it didn't meet expectations. The noodles were overcooked, and the sauce was sparse and lacked the rich flavor you'd expect from a bolognese. It tasted more like a watery tomato sauce with a bit of ground meat... Another friend and I ordered the burger. Although the waiter asked for our preferred doneness, the results were inconsistent since hers was overcooked and mine was underdone. That said, despite the slow service, our waiter was very kind and thoughtful. Since we mentioned we were graduating school soon, he surprised us with a celebratory cake, which was a nice touch and much appreciated. Overall, this spot was a bit underwhelming but made up in kind service. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here again, but it's okay for convenience if you're staying at the hotel. read more

Service was slow for both breakfast and dinner. Did like the ability to order off the menu at the pool. This was perfect because there was no way my son was going to leave the water. Food was definitely pricey. My son's diet soda was a whopping $8! My favorite dish of all the meals was the chopped salad. Lots of flavor and textures. I added some chicken to make sure it would be filling for a mid-day meal, definitely didn't disappoint. Oh, and if you're going to order dessert, get the cookies. They warm them up and are great served with a scoop of locally made vanilla (or chocolate) ice cream. Overall, on par with other hotel restaurants. Just lacking on the service end with infrequent check-backs and long waits for food. read more

The place is pretty nice and we stayed at the hotel for a few nights and ordered food from the restaurant twice. The Cesar salad was pretty decent but in my opinion the dressing had an overwhelming taste of anchovies, which only made me assume it was house made dressing. However, the strong taste of the anchovies really threw me off. I also ordered their house chopped salad which I felt certainly lacked in flavor, including the dressing. Wasn't much of a fan. Their fries were pretty great as well as their lattes and overall service and kindness. read more

This was an excellent experience! Upon arrival at the hotel we were assisted by a kind valet attendant. The valet here is very affordable. As our group approached the restaurant we were greeted by a gorgeous, very friendly hostess, Ashley, who seated us very quickly in the outdoor seating area. This was a preview of the exceptional service that we would recieve through the duration of our meal. We were offered a variety of fresh breads. They quickly took our drink orders, brought water to the table, and gave us an opportunity to review the menu. The menu was well balanced, seasonal, and affordable. I ordered the seared Salmon with cauliflower puree and romesco sauce. The meal and presentation were fantastic. We had a birthday in our group, the wait staff presented a beautiful and delicious chocolate tarte. The service was spectacular and the food was as well. This place was whatever's I only came into this restaurant to use my free rewards cards for free drinks but they were so rude about it they literally walked away and got a manger and asked for my ID. I then order the omelette with sausage bacon and Swiss cheese but they gave me the wrong order instead I got some food my grandma could of made so I asked for the check and they literally stood right next to me the whole time I was writing the tip I felt uncomfortable. I dined there with a work colleague, and while we had lots to catch up on, the length of time between when we ordered and when we received our food was unacceptable; indeed, we had drained our iced teas 10 minutes earlier. I got 1/4 of the way through my Asian chicken salad when I realized it had no chicken. I would have sent it back had the waiter returned to check on us in a reasonable period of time. But since he did not, I was 3/4 of the way through when I inquired about the missing meat. He offered to bring me a side of chicken, but I said I'd rather just have the salad taken off the menu. While I wished there were a little more basic options, I'm satisfied with the cheeseburger+fries and soup that I got. The portion was on the bigger size, so I'm glad that, under the help of the server, I made the right choice of sharing it with my mom. We stayed at the Luxe last night, and had dinner at Sirocco. The restaurant was very quiet for a Friday night. The decor was simple but nice. The staff was pleasant and attentive. We had the lobster rolls appetizer, which was excellent, and enjoyed by all $25. My wife had the winter squash risotto, which she said was ok $29. The kids each had a Luxe burger with shoestring fries and both said that it was good but not outstanding $30 each. I had the steak frites, which came with an arugula salad and shoestring fries as well. The arugula salad was outstanding. The fries were also wonderful. The steak, however, was not. It was rubbery and chewy, which I believe was the quality of the meat, not the prep. $31. The wines were excellent, but overall, I'd say that this was a disappointing experience. Disappointing because of the price to value/quality of the food. Quality wise, it was a $100 dinner, but we paid $290 with tip. This explains why the restaurant was not well attended. read more

I have a few rules when choosing a restaurant or picking what to eat. When it comes to food, rules are too limiting and may prevent you from experiencing something very special. Of course, I became celiac and lactose intolerant 21 years ago, so that forced me to observe these dietary restrictions. Apart from those restrictions however, I am open to eat anything which is why I ate live lemon ants straight off the tree in the Amazon and giraffe at a restaurant, Carnivore, in Nairobi, Kenya. The live lemon ants tasted like lemon raisonettes while the giraffe was a bit too Necky for me. The one rule I have is unless you are absolutely stuck with nowhere else you can go, I never like to eat at the hotel restaurant. Granted, this phobia of mine is based on the older pattern of uninspired and overpriced food offered as an afterthought to the hotel guests. I know that has changed as hotels have wooed chefs and started to offer a more interesting menu. Still, the prices are generally too high and I would always rather find a local mom and pop restaurant than the more sterile hotel restaurant. With all that rambling aside, I met a client staying at the Luxe Hotel on Sunset Boulevard by the 405 Freeway for lunch. The interior encompasses more than one room and it takes awhile to flag a server. Clean, airy and somewhat bland (excellent for a meeting I guess), the small menu offered some good GF choices. I went light with the house Gazpacho which was GF (most put bread crumbs as a thickener) and it tasty but not like the way it is served in its native Spain. The Burrata salad was a nice accompaniment to the soup. It was a nice meal in a quiet setting made even better because I didn't have to pay for my meal. So, bottom line, if you have to eat in a hotel, get someone else to pick up the tab. read more

I gave this place one star just because the decor and ambiance is absolutely beautiful. Nice and clean but the service i would give zero stars. This was my first time dinning here it was a beautiful morning so we sat outside. No one greeted us there's a sign that says sea yourself after about 6-10 mins we were finally given a Lunch/Dinner menu and ordered drinks. I wish I could tell you anything further but no one ever came back so we decided to leave and no one even noticed we were gone. Other than it being a beautiful place there was nothing else I could review not even water. Not sure if I will be back, way to under staffed for such a nice place. read more

I had breakfast and dinner at Sirocco while staying at the Luxe. Great food and great service. Breakfast was two eggs to order, artisanal sausage, hash browns, and toast. Coffee was good, hot, and plentiful. Dinner was a burger and fries, both perfectly prepared. Had room service from Sirocco once and it came very quickly. My ham, spinach, and mushroom omelet was excellent, as were the toast, hash browns, orange juice, and latte. Very impressed and grateful for their exemplary service and food! read more

This is not for Sirocco but for the Bar/Lounge. I ordered a classic Old Fashioned. What I received was a bastardized piss poor version with no nuances of an Old Fashioned. No effort was made with this beverage and frankly I have no idea what he put into it. Hands down the worst Old Fashioned I've ever had and thats saying something, I'm from Utah! We got there super early around 8 AM and had to wait about 10 minutes before the hostess sat us down. She said she would bring us a heater and never did. My boyfriend wanted a complementary beer that came with our stay she said she would come back with a menu and never did. Our waiter came out and took our orders. When the food finally did come out they bring us the wrong orders. The food was mid I could have made it myself back home. We had to wait forever before they finally gave us the check. When the hostess came back with our check she was standing right next to our table the whole time. I felt very uncomfortable and couldn't ask my boyfriend how much to put for tip so we ended up over compensating greatly. Once she saw how much we put for tip then she decided to ask how our day was it was very unprofessional. DO NOT GO HERE THERE WAS NO PEOPLE EITHER THERE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A WAIT AND THE HOSTESS SHOULD NOT HAVE HOVERED AROUND US WHILE PAYING FOR THE CHECK!!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL ON HER PART!!! To be clear - we made a reservation, but we did not eat at Sirocco so this review is not about the food. We made the reservation because we were told the Luxe had remodeled the space and opened a lovely new restaurant called Sirocco. Ummm - no. This is the same small room that was there before - bright lights, no ambience, no music, and no people. Just one poor server running between the lobby bar (which is lovely) and the "restaurant". It was our anniversary and we figured since we were married at the Luxe, this would be fun. But as soon as we walked in and sat down, we realized this is not for us, so we got up quickly and left. My guess is that for breakfast and lunch, it's a nice spot. And perhaps the food might be good. But this review is just to let you know that if you think you're about to hit a hot new restaurant inside the Luxe - you will be very disappointed. We really do love the Luxe on Sunset...and we will still go back for drinks in the bar every now and then...but this is not a dining destination. read more

A lovely and welcoming restaurant tucked in the Luxe Sunset Hotel. Monthly our small group meets here for dinner. It's quiet serene environment is the perfect place for us to talk over a delicious meal. We always request our FAVORITE WAITER ANDRES! He is warm and helpful in every way. He seems to sense when we need something but never feels imposing. We continue to be delighted to find a place where we can talk and hear each other and where we never feel rushed to leave. In this chilly January weather we eat inside, but it feels as if we are outside sitting next to the patio and waterfall. In warmer weather, we love to sit in the patio. We went to this place for dinner and the food was horrible. We had a cheeseburger, tortilla soup and the mushroom risotto. All the dishes were very bland and had no flavor. The only good things about the food we ordered was the tiramisu dessert and the fries that came with the cheeseburger. I don't recommend this place, please try some place nice. read more

Stayed at the Luxe for 2 nights and hands down the best part of the hotel is breakfast and lunch at Sirocco. Eddie served us and was fantastic. Give that man a raise, he's super attentive and personable. We got chilaquiles and avocado bruschetta for breakfast - both were delicious. And then don't pass up the club sandwich for lunch. We arrived at the Luxe on a Thursday afternoon and had lunch here. It took 45 minutes for our food to arrive, and our waiter didn't come out to check on us once during this time.
