I stopped by on a Monday evening and was surprised by how busy it was. They have different menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It is located at the hotel lobby and the prices are on the higher side. The space has a nice indoor/outdoor seating area and also a bar area. I just ordered the fries which were about $13. They were good and came with ketchup.

I've been to Plateia three times now, but once was just for drinks and a hummus appetizer. The hummus appetizer is delish!! And Plateia's drinks are marvelous, but pricey. Both times I came for a meal, I wasn't that happy with my entree. One time the chicken sandwich, and second time the risotto. I was also still hungry after eating the risotto, so an appetizer or side of fries or hummus would've been nice. The people I was with enjoyed their burger, so that's a plus! I'd give the food 3.5 stars, the drinks 5 stars and the service 5 stars as well. Wish they could lower the price of their drinks though. I do like that there is a bar and seating just inside. Didn't realize this place is inside a hotel! Super cool.

Dined at Plateia for a business lunch on a Friday afternoon and it was pretty busy. Luckily I made a reservation through OpenTable so I was all set. The space is next to Luskin Conference Center so it was very nice and spacious. They have valet in the front but I would see if there are any free parking lots in Westwood. Was promptly seated after check in. Host was nice as well as our server. We ordered the hamburger and lamb pita based on the servers recommendation and I ordered the shrimp tagliatelle. The food came out pretty quick, however the meat on the burger and the lamb pita were cold to the touch. The bun on the burger was warm, but the patty itself was cold- not room temperature.... cold. Almost as if it came out of a fridge- but it was cooked. We let our server know and she immediately took the plates back and apologized. The food was then re-delivered to us about 5 minutes later, warm. The burger and lamb pita came with a side of fries or a salad- surprisingly, they didn't have any ranch! We opted for fries, which was crispy and cooked well. My shrimp pasta was cooked well and had enough shrimp. The food was tasty but nothing really stuck out. I think this restaurant would be perfect for business meals as the price isn't too bad and the food comes out quick. The lamb pita didn't come with tzatziki sauce but we were able to ask for it. That sauce was pretty good. The pita is a bit dry without it so definitely be sure to ask for it. What was really surprising was the bill. We tried to tip the server but noticed there was no place to do so. At the bottom of the bill, it said "Plateia is a gratuity-free environment". That definitely caught us off guard. It was nice that I didn't have to pull out my calculator in front of my boss, but it would've been nice to have been able to tip the kind and understanding server.

    Cadillac Margarita. Deceivingly strong. Nice!

Loved that Plateia is located so close to Polly Pavilion (between the Pavilion and Parking structure 8. Very nice setting for dinner before a game. As we checked in we no reservations, we were asked if we were going to attend the game? Nice that they were going to ensure we get out in time. Even though we arrived with only an hour before game time. Excellent service got our drink and meal order in and served timely. My Cadillac margarita was very nice and deceivingly delicious and strong. I got the chicken fillet with mashed potatoes and hubby ordered the game day burger. Both were delicious. We definitely will be back for pregame dinner at Plateia.

Both the Greek Village Salad with Steelhead and the Market Salad with Steelhead at Plateia were fresh Mediterranean-inspired meals. The Greek Village Salad with Steelhead had romaine, radicchio, cucumbers, tomatoes, red onion, Kalamata olives, and marinated feta tossed in a bright lemon-oregano vinaigrette. The Market Salad with Steelhead had seasonal greens, fresh fruit and vegetables, and vinaigrette dressing. The fish added plenty of protein.

Hands down this is the best place to dine at while at UCLA. Service here is excellent! Came here for a late lunch while waiting for my baby Bruin to get out of class to come home for the weekend. Located conveniently by parking lot 11 and near the Bruin store and the Alumni Center. I originally assumed it was a members only kind of dining establishment, but I asked the staff and they said it was open to the public. If you want a nice sit down restaurant rather than the UCLA fast food options, this place will not disappoint. I sat outside in the beautiful patio surrounded by olive trees where I enjoyed reading a great book while waiting for my food. The staff is amazing and attentive. I had a burger and fries, which was great! For dessert I had the basque cheesecake, which was light, delicious, and refreshing. Overall, this is my new favorite place to eat while at UCLA. Definitely will be back!

Came for pre-graduation meal back in June. It was an awkward time - 3:30pm. We had the lounge menu. Decent selection of meals (salad, hamburgers, pizzas) and good selection of drinks and cocktails. The spring salad was light and tasty. I don't remember the name of my drink, but it was good. Attentive service. If you can, sit on the patio when the weather is nice. We sat indoors, and it was quiet and good for conversation. Made the reservation in advance, but there were open indoor tables when we arrived. Located on the campus of UCLA, across from Ackerman Union.

Came here for a group event. We had a group of 12, and it took us 50 minutes to be seated, order, and get our food. I ordered the shrimp pasta, which was decent but nothing too special for the price. I tried someone's gyro and liked that much more, and it was cheaper! This is a reasonable place to go for group events on UCLA's campus, but if you can go off campus, there are better restaurants in the area!

You never know what you are going to get with a hotel restaurant but Plateia is a great option. It is pretty spacious and offers outdoor, bar and traditional seating. I have been twice now - once for lunch and once for breakfast. For lunch I ordered "The" Burger. It was delicious and they were able to honor my request of a gluten free bun which was awesome. The only change I would have made would have been to add egg and bacon onto the burger. The side with the burger were their parmesan fries. These were so good I wish there were more! For breakfast, I ordered the eggs your way. Once again, they were able to accommodate with gluten free toast. The prices are a little high but worth it because you can tell they use fresh, high quality ingredients. Overall, I was a big fan of this restaurant!

Our food was excellent. The restaurant has a Mediterranean slant and we started with the hummus and roasted calamari appetizer, very healthy and a good sized portion with homemade spiced pita bread. I had the steelhead fish with pea purée and generous roasted farm fresh vegetables. And the basque cheesecake for dessert - gluten free and not too sweet with berry garnish. Hubby had the olive oil cake garnished with blackberry sauce and blood oranges. Would come here again.

Stopped by on Friday, 10/11/24 with my boss during lunch time (my boss's treat for my last day at work). We ordered the following: - 1 Ezzo Pepperoni and Mushroom = $25 - 1 Market Vegetable Risotto = $23 - 1 Molten Chocolate Cake = $14 - 1 Basque Burnt Cheesecake = $13 The mushroom pizza was delicious! The bread is a bit flat, which I didn't mind at all. Definitely on oiler side though. I had leftovers. Overall this place has a great atmosphere and overall ambiance.

House focaccia bread is absolutely divine. Ask your server!

For a hotel restaurant and campus spot it's actually very good. The service is first rate; which is much appreciated after a long day working a conference inside this hotel. For me food just has to be good enough given the convenience of this place but the kitchen excels. Their house bread is a fluffy and fresh focaccia which is crave worthy. The staff has been generous to provide it to me complimentary when I've asked on multiple occasions. Their pizzas are Neapolitan style with a crust that rivals some of the best wood oven craft pizza places in town. I recommend keeping it to the simple margarita pizza, as I found the other ones not so tasty although the crust was great across all of them. The burgers are solid and cooked to your requested temperature, and they'll do them for lunch or dinner even tho it's not on the dinner menu. The pastas here are also crave worthy with perfectly cooked pasta and just the right amount of everything. I had to do a lot of work meals recently and was surprised that looking back I was wishing the food at other places was like Plateia--high quality, piping hot, and well executed dishes. I've had their food and service many times for catered events in the Luskin center and large group dinners in the restaurant but they truly excel when you're just stopping in at their restaurant bar or dining room for a meal, never mind it's part of UCLA so you're prob here for the convenience factor. If this restaurant was standalone and off campus I would still be craving it and raving all about it. I hope they bring back their bacon wrapped dates one day bc those were legendary!

I love the little animal paintings on the wall, and the wall made of books. It wasn't too busy the day we went, which was nice since it wasn't too loud. Now the food.... well that's the whole reason I'm writing this! I'm used to having dry af salmon at restaurants but this place blew my mind! I didn't know you were able to have your salmon cooked medium rare or well (like a normal steak), so when I was asked that I was taken back. I believed I chose on having it cooked medium. The whole dish -- flaky salmon, creamy cauliflower smash, well seasoned greens -- was an experience from start to finish. I haven't had a salmon dish that delicious in AGES!! Someone in the kitchen got down that day, so hats off to the chef! My fam was satisfied & they enjoyed their dishes as well. Unfortunately there was a mishap where some appetizers weren't brought out but we resolved that. The waiter was attentive & kind (and really handsome lol) I really wish I remembered his name, but he made the experience memorable as well. He was kind enough to step away from his duties to take a few group photos of my family. I'll def come back again, and next time I'll try their drinks!

I'll preface everything below with the fact that there were only 3 tables of customers in the restaurant and several bar and wait staff. It was NOT busy. The service is terrible. We were greeted and seated quickly. The girl getting our water could not remember if we ordered ice or not. Two trips later, the three of us had water. Our server approached us quickly but we were not ready to order. From this point on, it was like we were invisible. We ordered one appetizer (Guacamole Fresca w/ chips), a burger and the short rib grilled cheese. Our entrees were served ahead of our chips and guacamole when I commented, we were told they were still working on the appetizer. Seems odd that it takes more time to serve chips and guacamole than it does to prepare the entrees. No apology or acknowledgement from any staff members. My beer glass and my son's water glass sat empty for 10 minutes. When we asked for refills, it took nearly another 10 minutes to receive the beverages. Our server NEVER came to check on us. We were NEVER asked how we were doing or if we wanted dessert. When asking for our check, the server had to bypass us twice and then told us that we had to fill out the receipt before the card could be run. In a city with so many dining choices, service is as important as food quality and taste. The new management has work to do or this will be another failed restaurant. We will NOT be returning.

The menu tonight is themed with a movie playing at the Hammer. So it's not the normal fare. But from what I understand, they do a different prix fix menu every night, in addition to their normal offerings. This meal was wonderful. The first course was a poblano chile filled with a walnut based stuffing. It was delicate and brilliant. It was also a dish from the movie that was served at a wedding and everyone fell in love. The main was a medley of different seafoods (scallops, shrimp, clams, and tilefish) with vegetables (hominy, garlic, avocado, onion, and chile) and a lovely broth that was deconstructed and wonderful. Service was fine, but nothing special. We were greeted, seated and the waitress took our orders. Once the food arrived, our waitress barely came by again except towards the end to drop off our check. Other staff did come by to clear our empty plates from the table, so that was nice. We did notice that they only provided 1 serving spoon for all of our dishes. Would've liked a serving utensil with each dish to minimize cross-contamination and mixing of flavors. Throughout our dining, there were flies and small bugs flying around, which was off-putting and annoying as we had to keep swatting them away from landing on our food. 1. Farmhouse Beet Salad (5/5) It's a good thing this was the 1st dish to arrive at our table as it left a good 1st impression. The roasted organic beets were fresh and had that earthy-tone to it. Dressed with their lemon-oregano vinaigrette, feta, arugula, and candied pecans. OMG, those candied pecans were heavenly. It's crunchy and toasted to perfection. the candied flavor of it was addictingly delicious. If they have a menu item of candied pecans, I'll order it any day. 2. Trio Taco (2.5/5) You can choose between chicken, steak, shrimp, plant-based chicken, or jackfruit. We opted for steak. The steak was fine, but for BBQ sauce used was just a dish killer. They need to rethink the choice of sauce used in these tacos. Also, not a fan of corn tortilla. Wish they gave a choice between corn and flour tortilla. 3. Artisan Bread & Butter (5/5) Their sourdough bread sliced, grilled and brushed generously with garlic olive oil. Severed with a side of whipped duckfat butter. I've never had duck fat butter before, so this was a pleasant experience to try. Not to worry, there's no duck flavor at all. It's almost like cream cheese but lighter and airer. 4. Ahi Filet (1.5/5) Sesame-crusted ahi with a side wasabi aioli. The ahi was so-so; definitely, not the freshest and there's no "melt-in-your mouth" joy. The wasabi aioli sauce was good though. There is a subtle spice kick from the wasabi. It's served with a side of soba noodles that was gingery and peanuty in flavor. Unfortunately, the noodles were overcooked as they stuck to each other in clumps. 5. Bacon & Blue Burger (4.5/5) Quite a satisfying burger consisting of wagyu beef, duroc bacon, aged blue cheese, caramelized onions, and arugula. It's juicy, meaty, slightly tangy from the horseradish aioli and sweet from the port wine reduction. The brioche bun was pleasantly soft. 6. Thai Ginger Salad (3/5) This salad consists of romaine lettuce as the base. It is dressed with Thai sesame dressing, which was underwhelming. The toppings for this salad include fresh mango cubes, slaw, slices of avocado, fresh peanut bits, tomato and soba noodles. It's not a bad salad, but for the price, I do not think it is worth it. 7. Superfood Longevity Salad (4/5) A salad consisting of mixed greens (lacinato kale and spring mix) with a variety of rich, nutritious toppings (organic beets, quinoa, pomegranate, radish, blueberries, almonds, dried Bing cherries, and pepitas). The dressing is a sherry vinaigrette that's tangy, creamy and light. All the ingredients came together well. If you are looking for a hearty salad, this is for you. 8. Hibiscus Rosé (4/5) Sparkling rosé with hibiscus flavor infused with grapefruit skin to give it a bit of citrus note and topped off with a micro flower to add a special touch of decor to the drink. In summary, the food looks better than it actually tastes. Come here if you want to eat out with a large party for celebration, but otherwise, I wouldn't recommend it for a special night out as the price does not justify the experience.
