Great service in a beautiful setting. We were a party of four and enjoyed the eclectic and delicious food. The owners were very friendly and accommodating and eager to please.
I checked out Chelsea during a happy hour with a friend and sat at the bar. We got lamb kebabs, kimchi, grilled cheese, and fish tacos. The lamb kebabs were a bit gamey for my taste but I enjoyed the sauce that came with it. Fish tacos were flaky and well cooked but wished it was more flavorful. The kimchi grilled cheese felt pretty substantial and filling. The food was good but one dish didn't particularly stand out. The drinks on the other hand did. The shades of pink was a really good sippable drink that was perfect on a warm day. It wasn't too sweet and light enough to feel refreshing. The aloe & behold cocktail was delicious and got a hint of floral flavor that made it feel unique. The staff were great and attentive. The bathrooms were clean and had a cute aesthetic. The whole restaurant felt like a good date night place or a vibey place to go with coworkers. Street/meter parking was available but be wary of the neighborhoods which have parking restrictions.
Definitely worth trying .. especially happy hour .. no reason not to Food, drinks, and service were all 5/5 .. shout out to Ty for top tier service The kimchi grilled cheese was the stand out. Seems weird but it really worked. Menu didn't say so but came with some really good tomato soup dip also. Love a good food surprise Drinks come next .. wow .. really unique and delicious. American Samurai and Shades of Pink .. both home runs The Sea Bass in coconut lemongrass deliciousness. A bit pricey but fair for Sea Bass and location. The portion was pretty large compared to other places. Excellent Tempura cauliflower.. this was good but the only thing I have any notes on .. I'd like a sauce .. it's has flavorful toppings and something like chili oil on the plate .. wish chili oil was more of a sauce .. but still was very good .. texture was perfect tho .. a little crunchier than traditional tempura which was nice Ambiance was charming .. cute little place .. a must try
Chelsea was a beautiful, moody interior restaurant with vibrant dishes and fun cocktails. Especially loved the yellowtail and watermelon dish as well as the grilled octopus. I believe everyone enjoyed their dishes, but docking a star as they overcooked the steak frites! We ordered it medium rare but it came to us medium-well done. It is always disappointing to get a steak more done than you requested. They had a seasonal banana foster dessert at the end that was delicious. Service was attentive and pleasant. Definitely a pricier place, but worth it to try the different dishes on the menu!
Love Little Chelsea for their beautiful patio and delicious food. On our initial visit, the menu was very limited and it was hard to find something that our extremely picky eater liked. The second time we came, they were serving the entire Chelsea menu in addition to the previous menu, so everyone was able to find something that appealed to them. In particular, I have liked their fish - their fish tacos and New Zealand seabass were delicious. The portions for the seabass were quite large. Child loved their escargot stuffed mushrooms and boar ragu. Husband likes the burger - I had a bite, and it was amazing. Don't pass up the desserts here! The key lime pie was outstanding, and the ricotta cheesecake was delicious as well. Love the fresh berries they include with the dessert.
Chelsea is a great choice for a classy & elegant evening. The inside has very modern style decor with dim lighting that really sets the tone for a date night. The menu felt a bit limiting considering the few options for entrees. They serve American food, which really just means a bunch of random things. The Wasabi Pea Crusted Ahi might sound intimidating & kinda weird, but i'm glad J ordered it. The fish itself tastes very plain but fresh. The crust is what gives this dish flavor. I enjoyed trying this dish, but I think i'll leave it as a one-time experience. The service was excellent. You can really feel that this is a family owned business that has a lot of love being poured into it. Chelsea has a lot of potential in my opinion & for that reason, I'd be willing to give it another visit some day.
The cocktails were amazing, flavorful but not sweet. They were just the beginning of the evening however. The lobster rolls melted in your mouth and the sauces for the other dishes blend the best of so many cultures. We just loved it.
Came here for date night and it was definitely the right ambiance. We were able to make reservations and the host was accommodating. Alex was a fantastic server. He read the room and gave us space during intimate conversations but came and checked on us, anticipating needs. We ordered the lobster sliders which were delicious and a reasonable portion of lobster. I'd come back for these. The lamb chop was suggested as a popular dish and was cooked perfectly, however it was just okay...flavor was mid if you will. The duck however was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. I'd recommend the duck. The menu prices were not consistent with what we were billed (actual prices slightly higher)..pretty sure. Oh well. Nice place to try.
Great lounge / restaurant bar in Santa Monica. Dark but not too dark. Good music with cool vibe. I tried almost everything on the menu. From oysters to a couple bottles of wine . Service was great. The bartender made us feel at home. Most definitely will be back.
We made reservations for a Friday evening and the staff were very accommodating when we wanted to show up a little early. The small dining room had lots of good seating. We got a nice rounded booth which made it easy for conversation and dish sharing. The burrata appetizer was very large - easily shareable for 4 people. The octopus appetizer was a nice idea but the thick part of the octopus was a bit tough. The entrees were the highlight of the meal. Everyone's dishes were great. The pork chop stood out for its excellent cook - crisp on the edges and very tender throughout. The trout and sea bass were delusions too.
I have been wanting to try Chelsea for some time now and finally got a chance. The restaurant feels like a nice homey vibe. Nicely lit, quiet with good feelings and sounds. The wait staff was fun and helpful and there was only one waiter for all the tables on this night. Which was fine because we didn't feel stalled at all. The cocktails were tasty but the spicy margarita from the menu lacked some spice punch I have to say. However the tequila old fashion I ordered was a 10/10! Lacking punch is how I would describe the entire meal. Things were good but I can't say that anything knocked my socks off. We started with sashimi and melon dish along with the tuna ceviche. Both good neither great. A surprise was the lobster slider because it was fried. Likely a waste of lobster to cook it so hard. Again different but not mind blowing different. My main was the pork chop. It got a little boring even with the vegetable side and mashed potatoes that lacked all flavor. The rest of the party ordered the sea bass. I had a bite. It was good at first but then I got overwhelmed with the coconut flavor. I didn't try the fried chicken. I wasn't told it was spicy but it's not my interest. The ricotta cheesecake was good. Apologies for my crappy pictures. New phone and the settings didn't get dialed in until the end of the night for the dessert.
I had another great dinner tonight at Chelsea. Sat on the outdoor deck for happy hour with my pup, it was really popping. I'm glad to see people are discovering how good this restaurant is. The ambience the food and the service was exceptional. Shout out to Ty who always makes me feel at home. The service here really is top-notch. Everybody works as a team. Today I started out with a nice glass of wine and two orders of oysters off the happy hour menu And then I tried something new and had the Tikka Masala Fried Chicken with an ice cold beer. The presentation was beautiful, and the dish was extremely tasty, it had the perfect amount of heat, just a really well executed dish. They make it with a chicken breast. I would love to see them have a chicken thigh option. There were a few other dogs on the deck today and they were all extremely well behaved. Very nice to see.
Fantastic. Highly recommend. The sashimi with yellowtail and watermelon was amazing, delicious dessert. Lovely staff. Great cocktails and wine list. Really beautiful atmosphere. Thanks Rebecca!

We celebrated my friend's birthday here last night and I'm so glad we decided to come here! I think the gentleman who seated us might have been the owner, he was very kind and welcoming. Our server, Murray, was so patient with us and was amazing all around. We were very indecisive and he gave us great recommendations, and was attentive, welcoming, and when needed, gave us our space to enjoy the meal. Thank you, Murray! We started with the Rye me a River cocktail and the Mezcal cocktail which were both perfect for our tastes. My mezcal drink was beautiful with a black salt rim and beautiful Smokey flavor (along with the word Chelsea spelled out on my ice cube). My friend loved his Rye me a River cocktail. For food, we started with the oysters and lobster sliders which I don't get a picture of, but they were both great!!! The lobster sliders were actually my favorite bite of the whole meal. My friend devoured the oysters, he loved them so much. We then had the boar ragu tagliatelle which was excellent. It was sweeter than most ragus that I've had, but that was my friend's favorite dish of the whole night. The lamb chops were cooked perfectly, absolutely perfectly, and the pistachio crust was delicious. We ordered steak frites and asked that the fries be truffle fries, which they kindly accommodated. So glad we asked because the truffle fries were delicious, they came with a cilantro dipping sauce that was delectable! The steak itself was cooked perfectly, and the gravy accompaniment was an excellent complement to the steak. We also got the peanut butter and chocolate turnover for my friend's birthday. Yall, it was SO good! It really exceeded my expectations. We will definitely be back! My friend was so happy with his birthday meal!! We found street parking, but they do have valet if you need it as well. The interior of the restaurant is lovely, great for a date night. They have dimmer lighting, and great booths and tables throughout the space. The bar is beautiful and has a small tv screen in case you want to watch something but it's small enough and out of the way that it's not distracting at all if you don't want to watch any sporting event. read more
Great space and interesting menu inspired from a diverse amount of sources. It felt like a perfect representation of why LA is such a great melting pot of different cultures. Treated my friend to dinner her for letting us stay at her place for a night. Oysters: With lemon ginger vinaigrette, fresh oysters and beautiful plate. My kids are used to it with only lemon so we ate them and they were great. Yellowtail & Watermelon Sashimi: Chili oil, ponzu, onion, serrano. Wonderful combo with the watermelon, haven't had it like this before and would repeat. Sweet Corn & Ricotta Ravioli: Thai green curry based sauce. It was delicious but deceptively spicy. My kids tried eating some but it was too hot for them and we ate the rest. Seared Tandoori Scallops: Saffron risotto, tarragon beurre blanc. The risotto was so good! New Zealand Seabass: Baby bok choy, white rice, coconut lemongrass broth. Kids destroyed this one, it tasted clean and healthy. read more

I stopped by for dinner last week and had an amazing experience. This was my first time dining here and I loved it. The space is wonderful with a large dining area, bar seats, and even some private rooms for those who want the restaurant experience but a little quieter. Their menu is eclectic with various offerings spanning from ceviche to roast duck. There is truly something for everyone. We shared the albacore ceviche, grilled octopus, corn ravioli, roast duck, bolognese, burger, and lamb chops. We also tried their cookies that come paired with White Russians. Such a great combo! Speaking of cocktails, they have a great bar selection. I enjoyed their featured cocktails which boast a smoked Manhattan and a mezcal espresso martini. They also have a wine list if that's more your preference. Whatever you choose whether it's drinks or food, you're bound to enjoy it! read more

I've driven by Chelsea several times, and now I only wish I had discovered it sooner! My son is a huge fan of this restaurant, and after our visit, I completely understand why. We were a party of eight and ordered several appetizers, entrées, and cocktails. Everything was outstanding. Each dish had its own distinct flavor --there was no crossover in the sauces or seasonings. Every plate was unique. The American Samurai cocktail is an absolute must-try. It combines flavors I never would have imagined together. Beautiful color! These are true craft cocktails, and Ty, the bartender, is a master. He handled every request while seamlessly managing the bar and other tables. He was friendly, professional, and genuinely attentive to everyone. The space is intimate and stylish, with a comfortable lounge-like atmosphere. I've also heard wonderful things about the patio, which is open on weekends, so that is definitely on my list for our next visit. Chelsea will probably become my new go-to. I can't wait to return! read more
Everything was excellent. Our server was very personable and attentive ( answered all our questions). The drinks were tasty, I had the Geri Halliwell and my husband had an Old Fashioned. We had the naan and ceviche to start. Both were yummy. For our entrees I had the pork chop which was tender and juicing. My husband had the fried chicken tikka masala... very flavorful. Our friends had the scallops and sea bass. Everyone enjoyed their meals. There were so many desserts that sounded too good to pass up so we decided to try 3 of them. The ricotta cheesecake, adult milk ( White Russian) and cookies, and the chocolate peanut butter turnover ( which was the best of the 3) were all delicious. Chelsea has a hip vibe with lots of fun booths, a few more semi private dining areas and a patio. Cocktails and mocktails alike are mixed well. Servers are helpful and patient. We started with naan, yellowtail and Caesar salad. For mains we opted for seabass and corn ravioli. Portions are on the smaller side but the food is quite tasty. We went to celebrate a birthday and the restaurant brought over a slice of key lime pie with a candle in it! Would like to go back to try more of the menu. read more
My friend and I were looking for a really cool little spot to go in Santa Monica... Somewhere neither one of us have been before somewhere that looked really cool and adult like and we found it. Chelsea was everything we wanted her to be. She was grown-up but playful she was deliciously fun. She has lovely drinks. I can't wait to go back to try more so we ordered the escargot mushrooms and the squash blossoms and I have not had a party in my mouth like that in quite a while so I suggest everybody get your tickets to Chelsea and have a party in your mouth the flavors explode like the Fourth of July! The staff was friendly, fun, knowledgeable without being pretentious. It was just all around a 10 out of experiences. I don't know if he's the owner of the general manager, but he complimented me on my dress. I thought that was lovely. You know it was just a really cool place and I can't wait to go back and actually have a sitdown dinner. There's so much more I wanna try do not hesitate. Do not let the outside of the building even fool you and that's what my friend said she was like not impressed him like you haven't been inside. Don't ever judge a book by its cover. Chelsea rocks put her on your list of things to do... and then do it. You will not regret it! read more
Service here is good but the food definitely wasn't memorable at all and I think the tuna caused my mom diarrhea. First I'll go with the wasabi crusted tuna. This entree was overly salted which can only mean one thing. The tuna wasn't very fresh and probably was what caused my mom's diarrhea. Definitely can't recommend this one. The seared scallop was good but the risotto was too soggy. It was so soggy the sauce was running like water. Definitely not used to risotto going that. The oyster was good and the sauce complimented it well. It was the only dish that gets a passing grade. Escargot was bland and combining it with mushrooms took away any little flavor it had. It was not a well thought out dish. They had better off just removing the mushrooms and it would have tasted better. I don't know how this restaurant got this high star. Maybe their other dishes was better or we came on a bad day although if Friday night is bad, that's a little bit concerning as a restaurant. If you just came here for the bar, then I'd say is probably worth it but for a full on dinner, probably not. There are many other restaurants in Santa Monica that I can think of that are way better. read more

I had a really great experience at Chelsea Restaurant. The whole place feels stylish and well put together, but still comfortable and not overly formal. It has that kind of atmosphere that works really well for a date night, dinner with friends, or honestly just anytime you want a place that feels a little more special without being too much. What I liked most was that the food actually matched the setting. A lot of places look beautiful but the food ends up being forgettable. That was not the case here. Everything felt carefully prepared and thoughtfully presented, and you can tell there is real attention to detail in the kitchen. The dishes felt balanced, flavorful, and polished without trying too hard. You can also tell they care about how everything comes out, from the plating to the way different flavors work together. The service also made a big difference. Everyone was professional, friendly, and welcoming, and the pacing of the meal felt right. Nothing felt rushed, but we also were never left waiting too long. It made the whole experience feel smooth and enjoyable. I also really liked the overall vibe of the restaurant. It feels modern, intimate, and a little upscale, but still warm enough that you can relax and enjoy yourself. It is the kind of place that leaves a strong impression because everything feels intentional. Overall, Chelsea Restaurant feels like a place that really knows what it wants to be and does it well. Good food, good service, and a great atmosphere all in one. Definitely a spot I would come back to and recommend to anyone looking for a nice dinner in Santa Monica. read more

There are plenty of spots on LA but when you're able to create the charm of a warm, hip and modern home with bites and sips that offer some unique flavors and epic punch that's what you immediately get from the Chelsea. We arrived when it opened for happy hour and the host was very inviting and asked us to come right in. I could tell this was a happening spot because by the time we left it was PACKED! At Happy Hour we tried the following: Kimchi & Peach Grilled cheese: 5/5 - I was pretty surprised at these unique flavors blending together in a way that was surprisingly tasty. They use a kimchi spread along with brie cheese and peaches to create a really interesting and unique blend that you can dip into another Asian inspired sauce really nothing like anything I've had in LA. Short rib sliders: 4/5 - these were tasty but nothing that I haven't had before and unfortunately, there was a little bit of a bone chip in one of the sandwiches that I ate so that was a little off putting. Ahi tuna tacos: 4/5 - I enjoyed the crunch of the wonton taco, but found the Aji tuna to be a little salty for my taste but if you have this with a cocktail, I can see that it would be a really nice blend of flavors along with the drink Shades of pink cocktail: 4/5 - fords gin, strawberry, rosemary and pink peppercorn, lime, lo fi dry, tonic- I am a really big fan of artisan, cocktails, and really enjoyed the delicate balance of flavors that this one had to offer. The peppercorn was a really interesting way to be able to bring out the fragrant rosemary, which wasn't overpowering and I love a good gin cocktail. My only suggestion is that the strawberry flavor while quite nice was a little bit light. If they push that for a bit, this would be a knockout five out of five. I unfortunately did get one bad oyster in my bunch and there was a small bone in one of my sandwiches but I wouldn't say that was detrimental to the whole experience. Service was pleasant. We sat at the bar and while the server was helpful they didn't go out of their way to recommend things. There is valet, street and metered parking available at this location. read more

Wondeful spot for dinner! Small intimate restaurant. Service was wonderful as well. The cocktails were great- I asked for a recommendation on the lighter/ sweeter side and the shades of pink was exactly that. I came here with my parents and my grandma and it was such a great experience. Anywhere I can bring my 93 year old grandma where SHE has a great time - incredible. We came to celebrate my mom's birthday, ate some delicious food and had great drinks. I love the variety and selections per section of the menu! We were in town for the weekend and found this gem on Yelp! It was fantastic. Unique & delicious cocktails. We got the yellowtail appetizer on the crispy polenta. Great customer service! Our waiters were very attentive. Food was absolutely divine! I love Tikka Masala, but I don't think I've ever had it fried- especially on top of mashed potatoes! Surprisingly delicious! Octopus was definitely flavorful, yet we couldn't get over those brussel sprouts!!! Like how the drinks were pretty strong. Such a cute layout. I'd love to come back read more

Had such a pleasant evening here! Service was incredible and so friendly, the atmosphere was cozy and chic. Cocktails were creative and delicious. The short rib cappelletti and sweet corn and ricotta ravioli in a creamy Thai green curry sauce were standouts to me. The lobster sliders weren't anything to write home about, but we loved everything else. I want to come back to try more of this inventive menu! The menu has a great mix of fresh, vibrant options and richer, comforting plates with different fusion flavors. Here's what I tried: Yellowtail and Watermelon Sashimi - Easily my favorite dish. The combination of flavors was insanely good, and the jalapeño added a perfect kick. Crispy Squash Blossoms - Light, crispy tempura with a sauce that paired beautifully. The flavors were so deep that it almost felt like a meat dish. Sweet Corn and Ricotta Ravioli - Absolutely insane flavors. No protein in it, but it didn't need any--definitely a must-order. Tikka Masala Fried Chicken - Very good overall. The tikka masala sauce leaned slightly salty, but the flavors still came through well. For drinks, I had the Rye Me a River and Early Fog--both were solid, but Early Fog was the standout. Service was excellent--our server was extremely attentive without being overbearing. There's truly no other way to describe this restaurant except perfection. From start to finish, everything--from the warm hospitality to the incredible food--was exceptional. The stuffed squash blossoms were a flavorful delight, perfectly crisp and paired with a sauces that tied everything together beautifully. My husband loved the mussels so much that he didn't share a single one! He couldn't stop raving about the lobster linguini with squid ink pasta--a true chef's kiss moment. As for me, the duck was absolutely divine--juicy, rich, and elevated even more by the cherries. And let's not forget the risotto--creamy, indulgent, and a generous portion (hello, leftovers!). Honestly, every dish felt like something straight out of Chef Gordon Ramsay's kitchen--meticulously crafted, perfectly seasoned, and bursting with flavor. Enjoyable and delicious Happy and Oyster Hour before dinner found! Such a comfortable and relaxing restaurant over the counter while watching mixologist shaking those shakers is such a show creating flavorful cocktails. Definitely the oysters should be on the list to order. Fresh, plump, and succulent! The Kimchi & Peach Grilled Cheese was amazing! Bursting with flavor. Friendly and very attentive service. I asked for a glass of ice for my water and once the glass was empty, they brought another without me asking or even knowing. The food was a mix of Asian, Indian, and American. The best octopus l've eaten. The vibe was cute and intimate. Nice for date night or dinner with friends. Heard they have decent happy hours and reasonable priced corkage fee. read more

How much is the corkage please?
I called a couple months ago, and the corkage was 40/bottle, which I thought was outrageous. Place is fantastic but wouldn't recommend bringing your own wine.
