Bloody Maria
Myla M.

Looking for a cute brunch spot, we stumbled upon the Brixton.having been there before a long time ago. I was skeptical because it used to be like dark and CD kind of dive bar, but they've put these windows in and the light comes in and the place was pretty busy that's always a good sign and the bartender was amazing. His name is Lance. Lance has been there for a long time. Turns out we have family in another state very close to each other. Some kind of bonded over that and just life in general excellent Bartender my bloody Maria is fantastic and he was very attentive. We ordered a Greek omelette and it was delicious. Seriously it was really good. Had a blast will be back and hope that Lance is taking care of the Bar the next time I return.

Wassup y'all! I'm back with another review. I found this spot years ago and honestly--it never disappoints. The food, the service, the vibes? Always on point. Super chill, super accommodating, just an all-around good time. On this visit, the homegirl and I stopped by post-workout because we were starving starving. I went with the good ol' açaí bowl, and she went all in--hash browns, eggs, waffle, chicken, and I think bacon (a full breakfast tour, honestly). I did forget to ask for light bananas and to add peanut butter to my bowl--but listen... it was still jumpin' like Jordan. No complaints. If you're in the area and craving a delicious, satisfying meal, definitely stop by. P.S. Bottomless mimosas are on the menu and the parking situation is actually decent--love that for us.

Fun spot for a bottomless mimosa brunch. Theres a small parking lot in the back and street parking. Tables were easy to get on the weekend even without a ressie. The bottomless mimosas came with a huge carafe of champagne and 4 different flavors of juice. It was fun to try all the flavors and mix them. Service was awesome! The people working on 10/19 were super nice and attentive.

Ambiance: it's a spacious sports bar restaurant located in west side of la, there's parking lot in the rear with limited spots, the large dining tables in the middle are good for large group hangout, then bar tables and regular seats along the window are good for small groups Service: very friendly and attentive, refilled water and cleaned the table adequately Food & Drink: plenty choices on their menu for shareable meals and individual items SHORT RIB POUTINE - *** braised short rib, fries, gravy, cheese curds, chives, good flavor but overly salty REUBEN - **** corned beef, marble rye, sauerkraut, Red Dragon Ale cheddar, thousand island, pickle spear on side, tasty sandwich, recommend tater tots - **** crispy, recommend BrewDog Grapefruit IPA - **** easy to drink, citrus taste, recommend Price: decent portions and reasonable prices, expect $30~$35 per person

The menu is big and there were plenty of seats available for brunch. But I think the large menu also was an indicator for quantity where the quality did not match it. It might be a better idea to shrink the menu and focus on a few things and do them well. I don't think anyone in my party particularly enjoyed the food. Service decent but some people felt the service was not up to par. This place might be a better spot to just go to drink but I would skip if you're looking for a decent meal

A hidden gem. This pub offers a ton of different variety of food! And bottomless mimosas. They will give you an entire carafe of champagne and you get these little juices like guava or mango or orange. I recommend the mango! I got the gluten free burger and it was very delicious. And that bun held on!! It didnt break apart on me and was nicely toasted as well. The staff was able to accommodate a huge group of 10+, and they didnt make any mistakes. The bartender was able to take photos of us from different angles as well! Loved this place, they were really nice and welcoming.

Just left The Brixton and I'll start by saying the food was really good. If it were just that, I'd give it 4 stars. But my otherwise good experience was tainted by the manager at the end of our meal. I'm going to give a timeline to highlight my frustration. My wife and I picked up my son from class at 5:35. I had a taste for fish and chips, so we took a few minutes to look at Yelp and decided on The Brixton. We arrived at 5:45 and were seated promptly. We ordered the short rib flat bread to share and it was out by 6pm. My wife and I then ordered the fish and chips, and our son got the short rib melt. By 6:15 we had our food and began to eat. Everything was pretty fulfilling, and so at 6:35 we were finishing up and asked for to-go boxes and the check. It comes and the timestamp on the check is 6:41pm. I pay, sign the check, and spend a couple of minutes getting my things together and talking with the family. This is where they rubbed me the wrong way. At 6:46, the manager comes over and says "hey, I'm sorry but we need this table. We have a reservation," smiled and walked away. I looked around at all the empty tables in the restaurant like WTH!?? So 5 minutes after I pay and only 1 hour and 1 minute from the time we stepped foot into the restaurant, we're asked to leave to make way for a reservation. Why allow us to sit there in the first place if that's the case?? You should have held it if the person who was going to eat there had less than an hour to order, eat, and leave. Had we not eaten so quickly or gotten full and packed up, we'd still be sitting there eating. There were multiple tables who were seated before we arrived who were still eating, drinking, and talking when we left. While this is a cool gastro pub with a chill vibe and pretty good food, we were driving home and all agreed that it put a damper on the meal and we don't need to return.

Great neighborhood joint. Happy hour 7 days a week! This gastro pub is a great place to meet up with friends, hang at the bar or grab a bite to eat before catching a live performance at McCabe's Guitar Shop down the block. Our server/bartender Joe was great. Very friendly and made a very good margarita. We ordered: A Cobb salad 4/5 Burger & Fries 5/5 Fish & Chips 5/5 Mac n cheese 5/5 *Metered Street parking

Veggie Burger

Came on a Wednesday before Christmas week and the place was decently full. It was also well into happy hour. There was a sign at the door telling customers to wait to be seated. Felt kind of strange since it very much has a bar vibe and also there was no bartender or server in sight. Waited about 3-4 min before the bartender came to seat us. He was very friendly. We quickly realized it was just 1 bartender making drinks, taking all of the table's food orders, and checking in on the guests. A tall order for 1 guy. He was killing it though but WOW. You would think they'd have at least 1 other person on the floor. Veggie Burger - The veggie patty was an Impossible burger. They LOADED it with mushrooms. So many mushrooms! Maybe too many mushrooms. The tots were super crispy and seasoned. My boyfriend got a double cheese burger and he said the patties were almost inedible. They tasted frozen and like they crushed them to suck out all the juices. He tried taking it apart and eating around the bad sections but his plate just looked like a mess. His fries were really good though. Not sure if we'll be coming back. Maybe the kitchen just had an off night. The front of house was OBVIOUSLY understaffed. The bartender/waiter was their saving grace. He was so friendly and made sure to take care of us the best he could with being the only person manning the establishment. Give that man a raise!

Looking for a place to brunch?! This place has the perfect vibe for a weekend brunch with friends. I was a bit hungover but I would've done the bottomless mimosa for $30 lol very unlike me. Food was delicious and service was superb. Definitely give this place a try!

Food was delicious! So many cool wall art/photos to look at. We walked in and were welcomed with friendly staff and patrons that seemed like regulars. Asked what we should eat and were happily surprised with how good the food was Had leftovers and popped them in the air fryer. Worth every penny! Will definitely be coming back!

Tater tots and brussel sprouts

Legit no seasonings, and it came out fast which was odd because it seems like they warmed up the food. The plantain had no seasoning. It was some of the worst food I've had. As for service, i would give it a 5/10. Not worth going, and not sure how they have such good reviews.

It had a cool vibe and tons of allocated bottles on the bar (tequila and whiskey and whisky to name a few categories). The staff greeted us quickly and supplied us with some menus. I opted for the Idyllwild cocktail and loved it! It had the most complementary flavors and was so refreshing with the bourbon, yuzu, chartreuse, honey, and lemon flavors. My husband opted for a neat Caballito Cerrero Puntas pour (high proof agave spirit). They only had 0.5 Oz for their bottle and only charged for the partial pour. People came in and ordered anything from cocktails to neat pours to flights. It was a cool spot and the bartenders seemed pretty well versed in different cocktails, giving a few suggestions to different patrons. Even making a few Espresso Martinis for a couple of girls that didn't really like their initial cocktails. Staff was cool, attentive, and pretty quick and efficient with the pours. I'd definitely be down to try more drinks here if we roll through again. Luckily, we found some close street parking and it wasn't super busy so we easily found parking in the area. It also wasn't super packed in the venue so we could've opted for other seating--lounge areas, a few tables, or just at the bar.

Most of the bars are dive bars in downtown Santa Monica, and parking is quite accessible for this place. So I'd recommend for that reason. In terms of the drinks, I'm a huge fan of cocktail but I would say their menu selections are a bit limited. Nothing in the signature cocktail looks interesting to me, so I had the bartender make a classic cocktail instead. He's very attentive and friendly, didn't take forever to get a drink either, no attitude. Drinks aren't watered down either. Nice! You come here to grab quick drinks when you don't feel like being at a loud dive bar in the area, it's in a hotel but not too upscale, no strict dress code. Music is not loud and they have couches and booth if bar table if not your thing, you don't have to yell or pretend you hear everything to hold a conversation here (lol). ** Keep in mind 20% gratuity is automatically included in bill, it's my first time here. But I think I've other spots I'd prefer to be in, even at Santa Monica. Wouldn't be self-motivated to come back because there are better places that specialises mixology, and there are also better upscale hotel bars to be at. But if you're around the area it's a great intimate bar for date night that's not overly pricey. Wouldn't travel all the way to here just for this (if you know what I mean).
