We ordered a burrata pesto pizza (sourdough crust!) & skinny fries. It took ~15mins for our entire meal to come, which we appreciated since we were very hungry after all that shopping. The burrata pizza was phenomenal! The quality of the burrata combined with the fresh arugula & sweet cherry tomatoes are a match made in heaven. Pretty classic brunch offerings. The cortado was more like a flat white as far as milk ratio goes - way more milk that espresso. The yogurt and granola bowl was a huge portion, the berries were really fresh and pretty. It's more granola than I could handle but it's still a nice lighter brunch option! Would come back. This is a great spot if you want nice outdoor seating on a warm summer night. The place is popping on Fridays and Saturdays, but it's definitely calmer on other days. I've visited for Sunday brunch and Sunday dinner, but I think I prefer dinner here. Brunch: I got their breakfast burrito and nachos. The nachos are flavorful and come in a generous portion. I would order these during happy hour or even dinner. The breakfast burrito was lacking in flavor. Perhaps a salsa or another sauce would help bring the burrito to the next level. Dinner: I really loved the spicy salami pizza. To be honest, it wasn't too spicy and was it was very tasty. We shared this pizza with my partner so, it's perfect for two people as long as you order something else, like a salad. We ordered the broccolini as well, but neither of us enjoyed it. They tasted like they just steamed the broccolini, so perhaps adding some seasoning would help. On another note, their burgers are solid. Met up with a former work colleague here last night. Good food. Great service. A great time. Always gotta love it when there are no parking issues. And free! Parking lot behind the restaurant. It's a beautiful thing in the Santa Monica. No meters. No garages. No restrictions. Anyway ... Walked in without a reservation. Don't know if you should get one on the weekends but always better to be safe than sorry. Both indoor and outdoor seating. And even bar seating. I chose to sit indoors. Not at the bar but in the booths in the bar area. Service was excellent. I don't know how to spell her name but she was great. Nice and friendly. Attentive and prompt. As for the food - enjoyed it with one note - the mushroom pizza for me, had an overly salty taste. I know mushrooms aren't generally salty so maybe it was from the cheese or sauce. Not sure but between my friend and I - we left a few unfinished untouched slices. I'd order the rest of the dishes again though they were all appetizers. Decent adult beverage selection - beer, wine and spirits. And Happy Hour that ends at 5. I like the vibes here and it's definitely a yes for a return visit. The menu suggests the burger is made with high-quality beef, and that may well be true. However, the patty itself tasted bland and lacked the richness and fat content needed to make it memorable. It also lacked a well-developed crust, which left the overall flavor underwhelming. The bun deteriorated after only a few bites and lacked the chewiness and structure of a good burger bun. The produce was equally disappointing. The tomatoes were pale pink, seemingly underripe, and lacked the deep, juicy sweetness that can elevate a burger. The lettuce was pale and lacked both the crisp texture and fresh flavor needed to complement the other ingredients. Overall, this burger was a letdown. The Scramble - 2/5. This breakfast plate comes with scrambled eggs, pan-fried potatoes, and toast. The potatoes tasted as though they had been sitting on the side of the griddle for some time - dry, overcooked, and lacking freshness. The scrambled eggs were similarly disappointing. The description is promising, highlighting ingredients such as grass-fed beef and lime crema. In practice, however, the chili was merely okay. The flavor profile felt somewhat bland and one-dimensional, while the ground beef lacked the moisture and richness that make a hearty chili satisfying. More disappointing was the serving temperature - the chili arrived only slightly warm. A dish like this should be served piping hot to deliver the comforting, hearty experience diners expect. The Cloverfield excels in location and atmosphere, and I would happily return for drinks or to catch up with friends. We always drive by this place when we're on our way to our local Costco and it's always busy so we decided to drop in on a Friday evening. We were able to get a last-minute reservation easily. They have an outdoor patio area that is dog friendly, and the food is pretty good. We ordered the hummus, crispy chicken sandwich, tuna tostada, and the ceviche. Ranking everything in order from best to just OK: tuna tostada, hummus, ceviche, and then the crispy chicken sandwich last. The tuna tostada and the hummus were by far the best dishes. I would definitely come back just for those two. It seems like they usually have live music, but because of the World Cup and the Knicks game that is on hold. It was so good that we decided to book reservations for tomorrow even though we're eating here today for the Knicks game. read more

This is my number one go-to place for entertaining friends, clients, and anyone else in my orbit. We just had another amazing private dinner party. This place is a popular hidden gem. The quality of food is exceptional, the service is phenomenal, there are private spaces for your events. First time visit this week. Great experience. Nice location near the Santa Monica airport with a large easy parking lot. The restaurant is very inviting a nice indoor seating as well as outdoor patio. We sat in the patio our group of four. Service was very attentive. I had a chicken pot pie, which I thought was delicious which included mashed potatoes and some mashed peas all which was simply excellent. Wash it down with a mimosa was perfect for me. Two in our group had salmon burgers, which they enjoyed very much. It was simply a nice lunch experience during the week. I even got there a couple hours early with my bicycle and took a ride west to the beach they did not have any problem with me leaving my car there. read more

Our first one star review as someone who has grown up working in restaurants I would never harm a small business with a review but this was so uncomfortable - I was nervous when i saw the low stars but decided to not believe the internet trolls and head in. We always love the airport park so was an easy fun option for drinks and food after. Was going to have a work party here but after this experience I doubt we'll ever be back. I have never been so uncomfortable with how I've been treated at a restaurant I paid to be at. I feel so bad for the young servers (couldn't be older than 21) who had to apologize and keep decorum while the hostess who I am assuming is probably their half drunk shift manager who's still rocking a restaurant FOH job at 55 with a bald spot, ugly flannel and an attitude was a massive asshole. He told the our party we needed to leave by 3:30 for a private party. We said hey not a problem! Just grabbing a drink! To which he asked us another 3 times if we understood his direction. Yes we get it, out by 3:30. Then he came up to us a 4th time and reminded us to leave within the next hour and a half. For a $20 drink and a $20 appetizer I would appreciate not being man-splained 10 times when I need to depart by. If I can pay to be at the restaurant I can also afford a clock. I rarely review things on Yelp, but I felt I had to due to how poor of dining experience I had tonight. - the service was extremely slow, in part from waiting to be seated (despite having a reservation), but moreso with how long the food took to arrive and then again in waiting for a check despite the table having been cleared But more importantly, the food itself was quite poor. - the fried chicken sandwich was very dry and bland (aside from slaw that was quite bitter) - the skinny fries had clearly been sitting out for a while as about 1/3 were cold or soft - the burrata salad seemed to have no seasoning -- the burrata itself was nearly tasteless as were the tomatoes. Salt was nowhere to be found - the Caesar salad was a quality on par with the bagged one you buy at Whole Foods Maybe we just ordered the wrong food, or the restaurant was off their game tonight, but I could not understand how the restaurant was as busy it was given my experience dining there this evening. read more

We had a terrible experience at The Cloverfield and unfortunately will not be back. We ordered the hummus and pita for the table, a chicken sandwich, a veggie sandwich, and the tiramisu. The hummus and pita were good, but everything else was extremely disappointing. The chicken sandwich was very oily, and my veggie sandwich was badly burnt. I wish I had taken a photo. After one bite, I showed it to our server, who said, "Oh, I'll show it to the kitchen," took it away, and then never came back to our table. Another server eventually took over, but no one ever followed up about the burnt sandwich, offered to replace it, or apologized. Even more surprisingly, we were charged full price for it. The tiramisu was also one of the worst we've ever had. It was completely soaked in very unpleasant-tasting coffee and had such a strong flavor that we wondered whether it contained alcohol. We took one bite and told our new server we couldn't eat it. To her credit, she apologized and removed it from the bill. What bothered me most wasn't simply that the food was bad. Restaurants can have an off dish. It was the lack of care or concern after we brought the problems to the staff's attention. Serving a severely burnt sandwich, taking it away after one bite, never following up, and then charging full price for it was especially disappointing. We came in hoping for a nice meal and left feeling like the restaurant simply didn't care whether we enjoyed our experience. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. read more

Unknown, because the drinks did come, but he never came back. We had to flag down a different server who, we later found out, owned a different section, and although he helped, he didn't seem much more clued in to what was going on. His answer to "what's the soup of the day?" was "no clue." Overall it felt like a free-for-all to get any sort of service, where only the strong survive. Came here twice so far and both times are solid. The outdoor seating is nice and has heaters, great for people watching. The indoor seating also has heaters and the employees offer to turn it off if it's too hot. I got the shrimp ceviche and the jasmine tea cocktail. The drink was too strong for me, I prefer a fruity drink. I couldn't finish it and decided to order the passionfruit one instead and that was great. The waiter came to check on us multiple times and noticed that my jasmine tea drink was barely touched and he offered to take it off the bill which was so great of him!! Was ready to pay for it but now I'm going to come back and try their other dishes and drinks as well. The ceviche was pretty standard, did the job. I had a pretty mediocre experience overall. Service was the biggest issue. Once our server took our order, she never came back to our table at all. At one point, we tried to get her attention as she walked by. She stopped next to me and responded with a quick "yeah" but stayed focused on her device and never actually lifted her head to look at us. We asked for an extra bowl for our poke salad. She nodded, then went to another table and never brought it. I understand it can get busy. Just be polite and responsive. That's all. The bussers, however, were polite which we appreciated. Eventually, I believe the manager or owner came by with the bill, and he was nice and professional. We even had to go up to the front to follow up, since our waitress never checked back in or handled the bill. As for the food, it was okay - nothing particularly memorable. I'd rate it a 3 out of 5. Service, unfortunately, was a 1 out of 5 and really overshadowed the entire experience. That said, it may have just been an off day for our server, but it still left a negative impression. read more

I love it here, I love inside so much- all the color and pictures!! awh the feng shui is on point! Outside is perfect for a warm day, it's a nice area (even with being across from the airport) I normally come mid day for lunch and it's calm and peaceful. Service is lovely, coffee and bloody mary's are delicious, I love the fried chicken sandwich, fries are crispy, tomato basil soup that comes with the grilled cheese is heavenly and the burgers and juicy and flavorful!! 10/10 would recommend :) read more

I've dined at this place multiple times since I was very young. It has a lovely location being across from a soccer field/park/airfield/flight museum which means plenty around it that gives it a lovely atmosphere! The outdoor seating is lovely and the inside seating is no different. The waitress's/waiters vary. Some are very engaging and will check on you while others don't give you as much attention which didn't ruin the experience, it just was something to note. When it comes to the food it's very average pricing when it comes to a restaurant with this vibe and setting. This most recent visit the Chicken pot pie I had was better than most I've had. It was thick and the crust was very nicely done. The mashed potatoes and peas on the side was great as I got to add however much I wanted. Though I enjoyed the chicken pot pie, it still lacked seasoning. Just a note. Overall I'll come back here to try more of the menu but it's not anything special in terms of the actual food. I now have a new spot to take friends visiting from out of town, for a date night, or to share a meal with a large party (10-16). Dog friendly! Right next to the Santa Monica Airport which you'd never know since it feels like you're in your own little tucked away backyard. Great location, plenty of free parking in the back or on the street. I love their outdoor seating, small to large tables for couples, friends, or family gathering. Noticed a more intimate outdoor patio for private parties. They also have plenty of indoor seating and a bar. Made a reservation just in case, but it really didn't start getting busy until 7pm for a Friday night. Service was decent, but nothing stood out with that. The Agave Pina was strong on the mezcal and didn't really taste the pineapple, so wasn't a personal fav. The Margherita pizza did the trick as a pairing for the pasta dish but standard personal size that's shareable for 2. The bucatini really stole the show! I was super excited to try the jumbo shrimp linguine pasta but unfortunately didn't taste the way I had imagined now this doesn't mean the food wasn't BOMB. A side of fries is $8 but SO WORTH IT, imagine a fancier McDonalds fry.. this is it but so much better!!! My friend traded me their margarita pizza which is very delicious! My other friends got the fried chicken sandwhich and french onion dip and they loved it! The ambiance is sooo nice especially outside! I will definitely be returning! Came here with my coworkers for a lunch out, and the patio is beautiful, its across from a field and by the airport. A lot of outdoor seating option and they also have heaters as well as needed. Went for brunch, the parking is shared with the airport parking, and the dining part of the parking is always filled as it seem, so do come earlier. there is also street parking available. the waiters are super sweet, the place is clean, and the food is delicious! I do think that the salad was a bit more bitter than anticipated and less fresh (I am a salad person if i should say, not that I am a pro, but i can tell when they're fresh or not) and I guess that was the differ point to that 1 star take off since that is a side option for all the main dishes - which you'd hope compliments the dish rather than ick otherwise i got the french dip sandwich which comes with a dip, and is delicious and the fries seems great. have bottomless refill on sodas other coworkers also rated their food delicious but the salad seemingly is the most untouched item among the table. restroom is clean, and food came out on a timely manner. what else can i ask for! read more
