Esme and Jose were both incredibly friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. They made the whole experience feel easy and enjoyable, not rushed or transactional like a lot of places. Delicious! I would recommend! We both had the white meat chicken plate with sweet potatoes and mac n cheese. It was all great, and the mac n cheese was out of this world! Major health and sanitation issues to start off with. Staff was handling food with their bare hands, no gloves. Additionally, most staff was not wearing head coverings. Chicken was left out on the counter (See photos). Floor was filthy. Onto the food, the breast and things were cooked okay, wings and legs were over cooked and dry. The sweet potatoes were terrible, looks like they have been sitting out all day, the guacamole had zero flavor. There are many other chicken places in West LA that are cleaner and have better food. Just opened and the service is good. They might give you a coupon for your next visit. Got the Tacos Dorados with 3 crispy chicken tacos and it was ok. The meat is on the hard, dry side. Also, one taco was super skinny and had slivers of tough meat. If they can make the tacos more consistent and not let the meat get dried out then maybe I'd get it again. I had a to go order and tried the Quarter Chicken with Kale Slaw, Sweet Potatoes, and a side of their creamy green salsa. The meal came with corn tortillas too. The whole meal was very filling. The kale salad was delish! Sweet potatoes were good. The chicken I have to say was a little dry. I like for my chicken to be a lot more juicy. I'm hoping that was just a one time thing. And the tortillas smelled funny to me so I didn't like them. But all in all I would definitely come here again and maybe try something else. Roast chicken places aren't quite as common as they used to be, but Wildbird has friendly service and an area-appropriate modern/rustic atmosphere that does the job. Elote corn side is a dollar upgrade over the regular sides, it's obviously nowhere near a proper Mexican street corn experience, so hard to say it's worth the upgrade. The chicken itself seems to be one-half size larger than the diminutive ones a lot of places use, and the skin comes out right; but in the end it's difficult to say that Wildbird truly sets themselves apart from their competitors. read more

I got charred broccoli as side 1 and chips + guacamole as side 2, premium at additional cost. The tacos were like $15 for barely any chicken in it. They didn't even fill the taco with toppings, they put it ON the taco. WHO DOESN'T PUT TACO TOPPINGS INSIDE.....Like WHAT?! The tacos themselves were okay, below average. The shell was nice but that's it. Broccoli was good but COLD, not even close to charred, like what?! Chips and guacamole were the only other reason this gets 2 stars instead of 1. Lots of chips, LOTS of guacamole. Slightly above average in taste and flavor, it had a SLIGHT spice kick to it which made it enjoyable. That being said, it's hard to mess up chips and guacamole so take that as you will. Overall, I would not come back here. Overpriced, small portions and poor assembly. read more
