I haven't dined here in a few years so yesterday I decided to dine in for lunch. I forgot how good the food is! I had the fresh corn grill salad with steak.... Delicious! The steak was tender, tasty and cooked to perfection. The salad had all of my favs mixed in.... Corn, asparagus, avocado, cherry tomatoes and steak. The portion was big, I ate half for lunch and the other half for dinner later that evening. The place is really clean with indoor and outdoor seating (small patio area). There was a line (came on a weekday during lunch hour at 12pm), but once we ordered the food came out in about 10 minutes. You order first and then find somewhere to sit with your number visible on the table. They have street parking (meter) or valet. Highly recommend if you want something on the healthier side and if you're in the Westwood area. Plenty of options to satisfy your tastebuds. read more

Just had to leave a shout-out for one of my top Doordash options for lunch due to the choice of substituting penne pasta for spaghetti squash, the restaurant staff taking the time and effort to label names on the entrees which is so helpful for group orders, and of course, how great the food is. The flavor of the sundried tomato pasta sauce in particular is so incredibly delicious with lots of depth to it - multiple people walking by have commented on how good my lunch smells (and they're right). Though the chicken to me seemed a bit dry, adding the shrimp is really the best way to go because of how well cooked and sizable they are (please admire in photo). I've enjoyed the fresh corn grill salad as well as their specialty plates but the consistency in quality and satisfying portion of the sundried tomato pasta is what compelled me to write this review and why I choose to keep reordering from this place instead of trying a new spot. read more

Great spot for a quick meal in the Westwood area, whether it's lunch or after work. I stopped by with friends on a Monday around 6pm and was surprised there was no line to order. We tried the sun-dried tomato pasta and it was delicious. The space is clean with plenty of self seating. Parking can be a bit tricky since it's right on the main street with mostly metered spots, but they offer valet for $3 for two hours, which is very reasonable and plenty of time to grab a bite. read more

Came back after many years, and the food is actually as good as I remembered when they were in a small shop few blocks down.Played it safe and ordered chicken with mushrooms / mashed potatoes, and a must have Corn. To my surprise chicken was a good size mushroom and corn were great as I remembered. The following day ordered the same thing to see how well the consistency holds, but ordered Brussels instead of mashed. They were tough and not too tasty, but the chicken was tougher and sides were still good. Next I will try the steak and we will see. Not going to try salmon cause I know the size will disappoint. Very disappointed. $23/$24 for a simple piece of salmon and the smallest side of eggplant is not acceptable. A salmon "plate" should automatically come with two sides, not require an additional charge just to get a complete meal. I ordered two salmon plates for my boyfriend and me, and when I saw the portions, i was so embarrassed that I logged on Postmates to order him a salmon bowl from Bossa Nova. Bossa Nova's salmon bowl for the same price comes with quinoa, sweet potatoes, vegetables, beans, and Brussels sprouts -- a much more balanced and satisfying meal. Came for lunch with a buddy. I haven't been here in years and was excited to come again. The menu can is extensive and that could lead to a decision paralysis. I ended up getting the blackened salmon sandwich with a side of brussel sprouts. The salmon was pretty sizable and it was spiced which added that punch of flavor. It was on a thick piece of focaccia that although thick, was fluffy and easy to bite into. The side of brussels were pretty tasty but could benefit from a bit more salt. While the meal was good, I just feel it was a-ok. It is decent but also feels like something you can get at other fast casual spots. I am so bummed that I did not try this place sooner. We stopped in for our first time last night for dinner and both were very impressed. It's basically like a better version of Tender Greens with better quality ingredients and more options. They have a large parking lot in back although it is fairly easy to find metered street parking right out front. We decided to order to go and all of our items were ready in about 15 minutes. The staff was also very polite and checked in on us many times while we waited. Inside is very large with many different seating options and they also have outdoor seating right out front. Definitely the sort of place that would be easy to dine in or takeout, we saw many people doing both. For dinner I chose the Steak Plate and loved it. I got the purple mash on the side and it was incredibly delicious. The brussels sprouts are also a great side, but the purple mash was especially a hit. The steak was cooked perfectly and the chimichurri sauce that came with it really added to the flavor. I also ordered a half order of the Beet Salad and thought it was fantastic. It comes with a lot of beets and cheese and is one of the better versions I've had recently. The half size portions are very large, so only order a full portion if you are very hungry and you're only going to be eating that. Their iced tea is also very good and homemade and as a huge iced tea fan, I get it often and I can say this is one of the better ones I've had in a while. Overall a fantastic lunch or dinner option with fair pricing, large portions, and great food. My book club met there for dinner recently and we were all very impressed by how hospitably we were treated. From reserved pushed-together tables to comped dessert and more, coupled with very friendly and accommodating service overall. The ambiance is also pretty darn cute for fast casual, with fresh plants and flowers, along with twinkle lights. As for food, I got the Fresh Corn Vegetable Bowl with a side of glazed carrots and both were absolutely delicious. I will probably place catering orders here in the future for meal prep purposes. Don't let the name fool you. This restaurant in Westwood goes far beyond corn! It has such great food and for the price, it's got to be the bargain of West L.A. Fresh Corn isn't the place for fine dining, since you order at a counter and then take a number to your table. But the food could have come from a fine dining establishment. The five stars are all for the food and the concept of serving a no-fuss terrific meal at a great price. I had to give it 5 stars because particularly for lunch or for ordering in, this is among the best of its class. The salads are terrific, but I almost always get their steak plate with the Asian BBQ sauce and it is out of this world. I can't believe it's only a bit more than $20 with two sides. (As for sides, the roasted potatoes are particularly devine.) Hint: If you're ordering in from DoorDash or pickup from their website, and ordering one of the meal "plates" you can add a what they call a "second protein." That's an addition boneless chicken breast or an entire second order of steak for $8 - $11. Do that with a friend and share the two sides, you have more than enough food and then it really is a total steal. I order in from here far too often and always add a second protein and I end up with like two to three meals out of it. read more

Simply one of the best gems in the area. Consistent quality and always fresh. They have some of the best salad, pizza, pasta and dishes/sides you can find in Westwood. Other restaurants charge more for inferior food. The staff is always nice, and they are very clean/hygienic from what I can tell. WHAT HAPPENED TO FRESH CORN GRILL? Man, I am so bummed to be writing this. My husband and I loved this place. Thought it was weird when we arrived on a Friday night at 7:30 PM and there was only one couple eating at a booth. This place used to be PACKED at this time. I guess we didn't get the memo that this place has gone down? We got our standard bowls which we have gotten several times before. "FRESH CORN VEGETABLE BOWL GF" Corn, zucchini, asparagus, and scallions over basmati or wild brown rice." DO NOT get this unless you are prepared to have 90% of the vegetables be zucchini. I mean we literally each got a few tiny smidgen of corn and a few tiny cuts of asparagus spear. The rest was all zucchini. Added chicken. Was very bland despite adding Asian sauce. Got "FRESH SQUEEZED LEMONADE" - this was 100% lemonade concentrate - I mean like Crystal Light type. I'm so bummed I wasted $4.95 on this. I would have much rather had water with a slice of lemon for FREE, and it would have tasted much better. We got a SIDE of BRUSSELS SPROUTS, they had a very strong fish like taste. They must have cooked some salmon in a pan and then thrown them in there without washing pan. Disgusting. Could not even finish half of them and I am not one to leave vegetables uneaten! We definitely won't be back here. Will give 3 stars as the server was nice and the portions were big, but for $60, we both walked out of there feeling nauseous from all the zucchini & completed grossed out by the fishy tasting Brussels sprouts. read more
