grilled steak plate
Miranda L.

steak plate full of flavor. Mashed potatoes creamy as usual. Veggies are also good a bit on the salty side. Good as usual. consistent and usually a good meal and good time here. Cute and casual spot with ambient lighting. Nice and spotless clean. Fast service. Order at the front, they bring food out with warmed plates. There were a few times the steak was a but overcooked and I find the veggies too salty but that was when I went as they're closing. But usually they're pretty good about keeping it consistent.

I came to LA for a conference for work and I literally ate here three times bc I loved it so much! Affordable healthy food made fresh?! Yes please! I got the steak, roasted veggies, and tried both the crispy potatoes and the roasted potatoes, loved it all! Good portions for the price. Highly recommend for a healthy option. Please expand to Chicago!!

first timer and wao i should come and try other dishes on the menu more often. would say v well seasoned and healthy nutritious food overall! came here with my coworker and we ordered the chicken salad, tender burger (to go), and the chicken pesto pasta -- the tomatoes were so yommy and string beans crispy although i'd like them a lil softer,,, the chickn was perfectly salted and grilled, the bread wthelly was sooo good and pasta was just nice

Grilled Salmon Plate with Romaine Hearts and Crispy Potatoes
Janelle S.

My friend and I both ordered the salmon plate. I got it with romaine hearts and crispy potatoes and she got it with romaine hearts and grilled vegetables. The plates also came with a piece of sourdough bread. The salmon was well cooked and not dry at all. The romaine hearts were cut up and served very similarly to a caesar salad. The crispy potatoes seemed to be baked and they were crispy on the outside and super creamy on the inside. We both really enjoyed what we got and felt that the portion sizes were well worth the price. She also ordered the pomegranate ginger agua fresca, she really liked it and said she would get it again. I thought it had quite a strong ginger flavor, so I would only get it if you enjoy the flavor of ginger. The restaurant was fairly empty for a Saturday night, but it was likely due to the rain. But we had no trouble getting a table. You order at the counter and they'll give you a number, then they'll bring out your food to you. The service was super nice and quick. I was surprised by how quickly they brought our food out. The restaurant is a nice place to eat dinner at and to chat with friends at. I will definitely come again, if I want a well balanced meal out.

They always make a mistake. Terrible manager at only this location.

If I could give this location zero stars I would. Every single time we order at this specific location they mess up on something. Either they forget to include an item or it's not made as you requested. It's really frustrating. Today this was my well done steak. If you don't know well done steak should never be bloody. In fact most restaurants avoid any blood, as to not risk getting their customers sick. We've been to all the surrounding locations plus San Diego and this is the only location that just can't seem to get it right. Unfortunately we live in walking distance.

Cobb salad
Daniel B.

Not half bad. While tender green's non-Cobb salad Cobb salad is certainly uncharacteristic of a traditional Cobb-salad, it was sneakily solid for what it was. So, it has the dressing consistent to a house chopped salad. It's vinaigrette based, not the blue cheese style. Also has chopped olives and a few peppers. Slice of bread was baked well well, crunchy and mildly sprinkled with a some olive oil. 16 and some change in 2024

Rustic Chicken Soup. Poor quantity and not even half filled. Whoever filled it up should not be working there.
Alex R.

Do not order delivery here! Just ordered delivery from this location: a quart of the chicken soup for $14.95 and it was less than halfway filled. The message I got when I sent a complaint was "sorry your delivery didn't meet your expectations. We hope you have a better experience next time" Haha! Rip off. Management should be made aware of employees doing this to their customers.

I've never had any complaints with the food, but it's not the most exceptional food you'll ever have. I've been here a couple times. The service can be a bit slow during lunch hours and the servers aren't the most attentive. If you're in a rush, you may need to track your server down for the check. The restaurant is clean and the interior is elevated. It's a nice change of pace from the casual dining on campus.

We had just finished a mini Stationery 'drop-in' (see those reviews too!!!) We were hungry and decided to give this place a try; we heard it was one of the best-kept secrets in Westwood... and Boy, Ohhhh Boy, did they not disappoint! My grandson's pizza was a 10 out of 10 hehehehe, and for me, as a pizza aficionado, I agree it was slapilicious. Watermelon & Feta Salad was so fresh, and that special feta comes straight through with the herbs, tomatoes delicately sliced with just enough salt and pepper. French fries were delicious too... my granddaughter enjoyed this very much. My only recommendation to the restaurant is to maybe offer an aioli cuz those fries deserve to be dipped into some other world flavors, so crisp on the outside and perfect on the inside. Service was attentive and friendly. We sat in the private room in the back, which was so nice, but the seating throughout the restaurant was inviting, and I think you could have a business meeting here or a fancy dinner or brunch with your girl crew. A parking garage is conveniently located under the hotel, and you do have to pay. Respectfully Reviewed

I love the little animal paintings on the wall, and the wall made of books. It wasn't too busy the day we went, which was nice since it wasn't too loud. Now the food.... well that's the whole reason I'm writing this! I'm used to having dry af salmon at restaurants but this place blew my mind! I didn't know you were able to have your salmon cooked medium rare or well (like a normal steak), so when I was asked that I was taken back. I believed I chose on having it cooked medium. The whole dish -- flaky salmon, creamy cauliflower smash, well seasoned greens -- was an experience from start to finish. I haven't had a salmon dish that delicious in AGES!! Someone in the kitchen got down that day, so hats off to the chef! My fam was satisfied & they enjoyed their dishes as well. Unfortunately there was a mishap where some appetizers weren't brought out but we resolved that. The waiter was attentive & kind (and really handsome lol) I really wish I remembered his name, but he made the experience memorable as well. He was kind enough to step away from his duties to take a few group photos of my family. I'll def come back again, and next time I'll try their drinks!

I'll preface everything below with the fact that there were only 3 tables of customers in the restaurant and several bar and wait staff. It was NOT busy. The service is terrible. We were greeted and seated quickly. The girl getting our water could not remember if we ordered ice or not. Two trips later, the three of us had water. Our server approached us quickly but we were not ready to order. From this point on, it was like we were invisible. We ordered one appetizer (Guacamole Fresca w/ chips), a burger and the short rib grilled cheese. Our entrees were served ahead of our chips and guacamole when I commented, we were told they were still working on the appetizer. Seems odd that it takes more time to serve chips and guacamole than it does to prepare the entrees. No apology or acknowledgement from any staff members. My beer glass and my son's water glass sat empty for 10 minutes. When we asked for refills, it took nearly another 10 minutes to receive the beverages. Our server NEVER came to check on us. We were NEVER asked how we were doing or if we wanted dessert. When asking for our check, the server had to bypass us twice and then told us that we had to fill out the receipt before the card could be run. In a city with so many dining choices, service is as important as food quality and taste. The new management has work to do or this will be another failed restaurant. We will NOT be returning.

We had grabbed menus while we waited for him and aside from the glare he didn't say anything to us. We told him our reservation information and he walked over to our table and still didn't say a word to us. We were one of the only tables there so it wasn't a case of being busy. Thankfully our waiter was great, friendly, just right amount of service. Support staff cleared plates and kept our water full the entire time as well. We got the borscht, warm goat cheese salad and chicken milanese. The soup was great, as was the chicken, I just wish there was a bit more to the salad than goat cheese medallion, dressed salad leaves and a few slices of radish. We also got the chocolate pavé which came out hot and as our waiter said "still jiggly" and it was great, light with a lovely slightly bitter chocolate and chantilly cream. The space is cute inside the Hammer Museum, table setting and decor was nice as well. Overall we enjoyed the visit but having to deal with the host - he really was the rudest host I've ever encountered - at a place like this, acting like that is not ok, especially when he is the first face you encounter when you come in.

** 18% Service Charge **…read more We took a short walk from UCLA to Lulu and were immediately impressed by the restaurant's inviting, open-air atmosphere and thoughtfully designed space. It was relatively quiet when we arrived, but the dining area began filling up as the lunch hour approached. The menu offered an appealing variety of dishes, with prices that seemed reasonable for a restaurant of this caliber. I started with the strawberry fresca, which was light and refreshing. For my entrée, I chose the sautéed Channel Islands vermilion rockfish, served with fresh cranberry beans and salsa verde. The fish was perfectly cooked, the flavors were beautifully balanced, and the portion was generous. The staff was friendly, attentive, and professional throughout our visit. While the food and service were excellent, one aspect of the experience left a less favorable impression: the 18% service charge, described as a way "to ensure fair, equitable wages for all." I have no objection to paying a premium for quality food, nor do I hesitate to tip generously when service warrants it. However, I find mandatory service charges frustrating, particularly when they blur the distinction between fair employee compensation and gratuities earned through exceptional service. In my view, paying employees fairly should be a fundamental responsibility of the restaurant, reflected transparently in its menu pricing rather than added as a separate charge. This approach diminishes what would otherwise be a very positive dining experience. Overall, Lulu delivers excellent food, a lovely atmosphere, and attentive service. If you're comfortable with the additional 18% service charge, it's certainly a worthwhile lunch destination. For me, though, that policy takes some of the shine off an otherwise enjoyable meal.

The dark green building exterior gives you a hint of the vibes inside as you approach it. There's valet parking or nearby metered parking. There's a small entry space and you're met by the bar right after. It's a standard size bar with attentive bartenders. The happy hour menu is for the bar seating only. The entire space itself is on the smaller side, pretty intimate and cozy. I can definitely see it as a neighborhood bar with regulars. We got some drinks at the bar and were seated at our table. The menu is the perfect size, great variety of types of apps, smaller dishes and entrees. If you're feeling ravenous or just feel like grazing there's a dish for every appetite. I got the octopus. The tatertots are not your normal cafeteria frozen taters. They're deliciously seasoned and are more like a small croquet. The octopus was also good but a bit on the chewy side. I like my octopus more soft. Still a very good dish. I definitely want to come back for the watermelon yellowtail appetizer. Looked amazing! I got the American samurai which was very easy to drink, light and refreshing. I usually don't like vodka but this was subtle and the olive oil drops gave it a beautiful scent. Lastly we ended with dessert, I got the sticky toffee with ice cream. It was good, not drenched in the sticky toffee but still flavorful and a moist cake. Our service was excellent, we were comfortable enough to spend a few hours catching up and reminiscing. Our waters kept full and we were well taken care of. Overall, a great experience, excellent food and cozy ambiance. Highly recommend!

What intrigued me was the Steak Frites but...other factors came into play.... Located on Wilshire Blvd. its not difficult not to spot Chelsea. I got the first slot as they open at 5pm on a Sunday evening and upon stepping in, I found the space to be very relaxed yet refined. It gave me modern Victorian vibes, with low light, and lamps. As I say I was presented with the menu and what was a surprise and threw me off my plans was that they had a Sunday Selection for the evening. Which was a a choice of soup or salad as the appetizer and the main was a Herb Roasted Prime Rib. So let's get down to business: Appetizer: Ora King Salmon Gravlax To be honest, I often open the menu to check out the full selection, and while doing so the hostess and server mentioned that this was new on the menu. I wouldn't be doing my due diligence if I didn't order it right? For me the Gravlax, I had in Norway is a high bar to compare to, however what really tickled my taste buds was the combination of the onion pancake and the salmon. The different textures made that first bite sublime. The fresh salmon finished the first bite cleanly with the caviar and fraiche adding some savor notes. 9/10 Starter: Lobster Bisque Light and full of comfort with your choice of how much pepper. Cleansed the palette and was a great preparation for the main course. I would have preferred it to be more thicker, but It hit the spot none the less. 8/10 Main: Herb Roasted Prime Rib The curveball in my evening was indeed a home run. Excuse the baseball metaphor but it was indeed delicious. The Prime rib wasa nice size (10oz) and perfectly cooked to my desired temperature and I savored every single bite. Paired with some spinach and mashed potatoes which rounded the meal out nicely. 8.5/10 I was chopping it up with my server and the owner has an Indian background which explains the subtle spices I was getting here and there with each bite. I really enjoyed it! The staff were so good to me and checked in consistently to make sure my meal was going well and gave me background on the new dishes which made choosing so much easier. But what stood out to me was the check. Yes the check. They presented my check as a bookmark. That was so unique and so endearing. I was encouraged to look through the book and find something to highlight and reflect by writing a small thought in the book. Such a memorable way to really seal your visit. Overall, Chelsea was such a shock in a good way! It was quiet, bursting with so much passion and flavor, and unique that it won't be leaving my memory so quickly. If your by, swing in and enjoy the ambiance and the delicious bites! Cheers!
