Nice establishment and nice people. Ambiance was clean and comfortable. Bit tight but well worth it. Purchased a family meal which included wraps, pasta, Cesar and chicken salad. I did not have to wait long to receive my order.. My order was ready after 10 minutes! Great prompt service. "Speed and efficiency." Took my food home and noticed the nice presentation how everything was packed neatly. Unboxed my meals and ate it. Just have to say how fresh and delicous my cesear chicken salad and chicken drumsticks was!! This food chain doesn't dissapoint. Where ever I go, I search for Calif Chicken Cafe! The Chicken: I only eat white meat, so I'm picky about texture. CCC does it perfectly, the breast meat is always tender and juicy, never stringy or dry. You can really taste the herb seasoning all the way through the meat. The Salads: * Chinese Chicken Salad: my absolute go to. The crunch from the almonds and crispy noodles mixed with the salad veggies are perfect. We split them and I ate my entire half of the ranch before we discovered a cup of ranch at the bottom of his half. My go to is the kids' meal with two legs and a chocolate chip cookie. The broccoli pasta salad is also a must! Since Covid, none of the locations allow for dine in, but you can eat in the parking lot in your car. The parking lot is also only available for pickup, or eating in the car. THIS BUSINESS IS NO LONGER RELIABLE. The last time I got food from GrubHub at the Venice location, the food was so poorly prepared that I threw it out. i left a Yelp review and the mgr texted me that she was giving me $15 credit. Well, that was nice. Then she told me that I had to sign up again because they had changed their website. So I went through all that and entered all my info again and signed onto their new website. Today after a doctor's appointment, I went out of my way 1/2 hour and drove to the Santa Monica location, which is usually the only location where the food seems well prepared. Before driving there, I spent 10 minutes deciding what I wanted and ordered takeout on the (new) website. When I got to the checkout section, THERE WAS NO SIGN IN LINK! So I backed out and started all over again putting in my order. Same thing. I could not sign in and I could not put in my order. I drove to the location to see what I could do. Their setup is usually very convenient: They have a back parking lot with numbered spaces. You pull into a numbered space and they bring out your food. The parking lot is usually mobbed with cars. It was around 4:00 p.m., and usually their back parking lot is full with people waiting to pick up their order. There was not a single car in the parking lot. I drove up to the employee standing at the entrance to the parking lot and told him my predicament. He said, "Yeah, everyone's been saying they can't sign in." ?????? So I asked him what I could do. He said I would have to drive around to the front and order at the window. Ordering at the window means driving onto Wilshire Blvd (a VERY crowded main blvd, with non existent parking) and try to find a parking place and then walk back to the window. Not going to do it. So I told him I was going to give them a bad review on Yelp and I left. BOGUS BOGUS B OGUS. Isn't this your business? Aren't you professionals? You initiate a new website, make everyone go through signinig up again, AND THEN YOU FORGET TO PUT A SIGN IN LINK ??????? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I had already driven out of my way and getting home took me an extra 45 minutes IN BUMPER TO BUMPER RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC. And once I got home, WE HAD NO DINNER!!!!!! This is absolutely UNFORGIVABLE. What kind of stoners are running this business? And now I have to figure out what to do for dinner. And I'm pissed. read more
