Menotti's offers supreme espresso. For me it's the best option for high quality cafe near the Venice boardwalk. The barista's are skilled and know how to pull proper lattes etc. Kudos also for the general good vibes from Masa and Christian who are often behind the counter serving up the finest brew. There's also a spacious sunny outdoor area for sitting, studying, catching up with friends. Last time I was there the Venice Fire Fighter crew was at the table next to us which was cute. Menotti's is hands down my favorite coffee shop in all of Los Angeles. The vibes are always pristine, the music is lovely, and the coffee is unreal. The latte, Spanish latte, and the VBC are especially smooth, and my three go to drinks. Honestly, I wish they sold all three by the gallon. The interior decor is beautiful and cozy, though on the smaller side, but there's plenty of outdoor seating that more than makes up for it. You can tell the baristas genuinely love what they do, and they're amazing at it. It's the perfect spot to get my creative juices flowing as a writer, and I always leave feeling inspired (and well caffeinated). I was really excited to check out Menotti's, as this coffee shop originates from Tokyo. I ordered the Spanish Latte, and while it 'looked' like it was expertly made and aesthetically pleasing, it was not brewed well, weak, and watered down; probably one of the worst lattes I've had in some time. Don't understand the hype about this hip cafe. Tried the Spanish latte and it was nothing special, the coffee wasn't strong and very flat in taste. The interior of this cafe is tiny and cool, the line to get coffee on a Sunday morning is looooooong. The man taking my order was rushed though courteous, but I was scolded by the grumpy older Latino man for asking for a saucer for my overflowing coffee which I received in a paper cup -- I tried to explain that I wasn't asked if I wanted it to drink there or to-go. We came a couple weeks ago and tried a hot and an iced version of the Spanish latte as well as a couple pastries. The lattes were delicious. I subbed the iced with almond milk and it still tasted amazing The service was fine. The place is very aesthetically pleasing. Perfection. I ordered a cappuccino and am still mesmerized by the quality. Come for that, alone. This isn't a work place, though. No outlets anywhere but behind the for-sale t shirt/sweatshirt rack. Charging can be a reality, though, there. Insane location, just a skip to the water and boardwalk. Love their music. Took a 6:30 AM yoga class and was looking for coffee and this was already open so I stopped by and got a Darth Mocha, which isn't sweet at all, they use a dark chocolate, espresso, charcoal, sea salt, and milk of your choice and you can get it hot or cold. A sweet girl that was in my yoga class actually let me in on a little secret.... if you're in line and you're at the front... the frame to the right is actually a secret menu so you can just pop it right off and the menu will be on the back ! I am a sucker for cinnamon donuts, and when I saw the cinnamon twist, I knew I needed to have it. It tastes like a churro and it would probably be so delicious dipped in your hot coffee, but I opted for a cold ! It is very vibey inside, but there is seating inside or outside depending on the weather and what your vibe is. Located on the perennially-busy Windward Avenue, Menotti's is the spot for Iced Matchas! Or at least that's what I always order whenever I visit. :-) The shop itself is very Venice-y, and they're usually spinning vinyl for their tunes. The menu is straightforward and they also offer light snacks & pastries. You can sit either inside or outside (I always sit outside), relax, and enjoy your drink. I usually make a stop here at least a couple times whenever I stay in Venice. What surprised me was that they even have a Menotti's in Tokyo! I really wanted to like this Venice location since I love the Culver spot -- the drinks, the friendly staff, and the great vibe there are always consistent. Unfortunately, this location has been the opposite experience on multiple occasions. There's one employee in particular -- the long-haired male barista -- who always seems to have a bad attitude. The energy here just feels off every time I visit. On top of that, I've noticed poor hygiene practices, like going straight from wiping down tables and petting dogs to squeezing oranges into a latte without washing hands. It's disappointing because the concept and drinks are great, but this location needs serious improvement in cleanliness and customer service. I'll be sticking with the Culver location from now on. (I also reached out to the company directly to discuss before posting a negative public review but they never responded, so here we are). read more

I am so so picky with coffee and typically disappointed but this drink was perfection! Just the right amount of sweetness and you could taste the vanilla and the espresso! The iced Spanish latte was also delicious but on the sweeter side. Service 5/5 The barista was friendly and made great recommendations based on what I like. He also made the drinks fairly fast as we were taking some pics. Ambiance 5/5 It's a cute and cozy coffee shop in Venice with decent seating. Terrible experience with the cashier, despite the coffee being amazing. I come to Venice often, and every single time I stop here because the coffee is absolutely delicious. But today I was completely shocked by the behavior of the cashier/barista. I bought a coffee and a cookie, and I politely asked for just a tiny bit of milk on the side , literally enough for two small sips ,for my 2-year-old child. He told me it would be an extra $2. I said never mind, because charging $2 for a few drops of milk makes no sense. What surprised me even more was that while making my cappuccino, he intentionally poured the leftover milk down the drain right in front of me instead of giving me that tiny bit for my child. When I commented on it, he laughed in my face. Extremely rude, unprofessional, and petty behavior. I love the coffee here, but after this experience with the cashier, I'm honestly shocked.
