We came on a Thursday, and I think they do a "pay what you want" service on Thursdays, but it felt like a disservice to give them anything but the average of most coffee in LA. I got the tiramisu latte, and it was phenomenal. They have a really good menu, so I'm sure I'd try something new the next time I visit. Was eating at Cafe Gratitude down the block and they recommended this place It's a trailer parked on the street, there's a bench you can sit and sip your coffee or walk around Got the flat white and it was a nice strong espresso (but not bitter) and so smooth. Barista was super nice and patient. If I lived nearby I'd be by way too often. Highly recommended. Great flat white and seems like they have lots of fun specialties. Nikita is the owner and barista and my husband and we love to get our mornings bevs from him. He's so knowledgeable and has such a calming energy about him. I am somewhat of a matcha snob and love that he uses ippodo matcha (the best bright green ceremonial grade) and not to mention he carefully crafts his own syrups for a variety of drinks he makes. Nestled in a cute little neighborhood in Venice, Saint Maxime is serving delicious coffee straight out of a silver Airstream. Besides the standard drinks (mocha, americano, cortados), Saint Maxime also has several specialty drinks--including Matcha. In fact, they offer up a Matcha drink I haven't seen before -- Passion Fruit Mango Matcha. The couple in front of me ordered it and it looked delicious, super refreshing and light. But....I opted for the Fig Cream Top Cold Brew. I couldn't resist, I didn't have my usual coffee the day before and was really missing some coffee. Let me tell you, I did not regret that decision. The drink is served with some lime zest grated on the cream top; the bright citrusy scent hit me and really woke up my senses. Then, I took a sip, and I could taste a little bit of sweetness from the fig, and even a little coconut(??) but I might be wrong. The coffee itself was smooth, and while drinks w/ cream tops can sometimes be heavy, this one was light and went down easy. This was the perfect drink to cool me down and wake me up at a hot summer LA morning. Next time, I'll be coming back to try that that Passion Fruit Mango Matcha. read more

This part of Venice is a coffee desert so Saint Maxime is really a huge asset to the area.
