The coffee and monster here is fantastic! I have been here several times and it is always consistent. Their Yuzu Matcha is my go to, it is perfectly refreshing on a hot day with just the right amount of energy. Plenty of seating and very welcoming and inviting inside. Highly recommended if you're looking for a quality cup of coffee or Matcha!
Glad I dont have to go all the way to ktown for Alchemist! This location was easily accessible, free validated parking and decent amount of seating inside & outside. It was also not too crowded on a Saturday afternoon. Had their matcha einspanner and I finished it so fast because it was that good! Their cream top is one of the best around
Came here to kill time and work a bit before a dinner in Culver City. Love that parking was easy and validated in the Whole Foods structure. The drinks were incredible - I had the hojicha sesame latte and it was not too sweet and the cream top was to die for. Only complaint is that the ice cubes were slightly big and so the drink disappeared too fast! Even though wifi was a bit slow that day it was such a nice space to work and with outlets too. Open seating and natural light coming in. Definitely will be back!
I love the coffee here! The traffic around here can be pretty bad but there's free parking with validation which is nice. There's a lot of seating indoors and outdoors as well. The baristas were very friendly in answering our questions so the customer service is great! I love that they have decaf espresso which can be hard to find. I had the Spanish latte which was perfectly balanced with caffeine and a subtle sweetness. The tiramisu latte was really good as well and not overly sweet.
What a cool coffee shop! Instantly impressed by the modern, minimalist vibes here. It almost looks like a bar but instead of cocktails it's coffee! I love how getting coffee is the new "let's grab a drink!" However, when I walked in on a Saturday evening, it was busy busy! So many people working that there wasnt any open seats until at the end when someone was done and we got a table. Would not mind coming here to get some work done. The barista was super patient with me and my friend as we took a bit long to decide on what to order lol. I know this spot has a good reputation and I don't live nearby so I wanted to make sure I got one of their best coffees. I went with the Tiramisu latte and my friend went with the crème brule latte which the barista said was their most popular. TBH my latte was okay. Came out to $8.75. I've had better and had a feeling the latte was going to be okay even though it looked really decadent. Parking is in the retail building for $3/hr but can get it validated at the shop or Whole Foods.

Coffee was great but didn't love the vibe as much as the Koreatown location. First off it was a little difficult figuring out which door was their entrance as there's no signage. Secondly they should have splurged a bit more on the furniture and less on the random bar they have. Their tables and chairs were all loose and wobbly. Still they do have an abundance of outlets for those going to study or work so I guess that's a plus.
I loved the customer service of the barista and set up of the place. Ambient lighting and plenty of different table formats to sit at. My seasonal latte (sesame and cream forward) was delish! They also have wifi and a bathroom inside for guests. Only con is that it's hard to find coming out of the parking lot and although they validate for up to 2 hours, the hourly rate after is 2.50/hour. Not entirely their fault but it just needs more signs to direct people to where it is because I almost gave up trying to find it from the maze of a parking lot and construction there was.

Quick note- you can park in the parking structure and get validation at either the coffee shop or Whole Foods.

Such great quality matcha! My matcha einspanner was creamy and had a bold, almost bitter matcha base. I only wish the drinks had the option to come in a bigger size. There is plenty of outdoor seating nearby. I love how the cafe is situated in a park-like setting, a good place to study or chat. Staff were super speedy with their service and their ability to whip out a beverage. For my first visit, I tried one of their signature lattes. Got the Misuguru Latte, which had a good coffee balance - strong, yet, not acidic. I didn't taste much of the mixed grains flavor, but there was a subtle nutty flavor likely from the oat milk. It is topped with a slightly sweet cream that's sprinkled with black sesame seeds. I got it without "simple syrup" added as I do not like drinks that are too sweet - turned out perfect for my tastebuds.

The menu is great, especially for a coffee shop as they have a great variety of both drinks and food options. Naturally, I went with a hot matcha latte (my go-to) and since I hadn't had breakfast yet I also ordered the salmon bagel. No regrets whatsoever!! Both were absolutely perfect. The matcha was smooth and earthy without being bitter and the salmon bagel hit the spot with its fresh ingredients and balanced flavors. Sure, the price point is a little high, but honestly? Worth it. Sometimes you just have to treat yo'self and this was one of those times :) After eating, we stayed to get some work done, and I was pleasantly surprised by how conducive the space was for that. There was plenty of seating, the lighting was great, the music added ambiance without being distracting, and the vibe overall was great. Bonus points for the clean, well-kept restrooms and genuinely good customer service. This is exactly the kind of spot I'd return to for a casual catch-up, to do some work, or even just a quick drink and bite. I'm looking forward to visiting again, hopefully sooner rather than later.

We headed here for a caffeine boost after an afternoon flight on a weekend and it was packed. Drinks: Misugaru iced latte was delicious, and moderately sweet. The Gesha pourover was excellent. Price: High. Both drinks averaged $8. Interior: Clean and pretty quiet, with ambient coffee shop noise. We shared a table with someone who was getting work done on their laptop. Every other seat was taken by students or other productive patrons. The tables were pretty wobbly- nearly spilled the pourover just from the tilting tabletop motion from setting it down on the first table. Parking: they validate for the attached lot. read more

Really yummy summer affogato specials. The strawberry matcha affogato was super sweet and a perfect afternoon treat while getting work done. I would love to try some of their drink options if I come back! They have free wifi but it was not working for the first hour or so I was there, but then it randomly started working again so that was clutch. Vibe inside is great for working or reading or catching up with friends. Staff were nice but were loudly talking to each other when not helping guests which was a bit distracting. read more

After a workout I stopped by this coffee shop (in my list to try) to try their coffee but it was warm out so I ordered an iced latte. While I waited I noticed that the space is very nice to hang out, do work, catch up with friends and of course enjoy some breakfast pasties. This is an incredible new-ish spot wonderful for both grabbing a quick fix, catching up with friends, or getting work done! I saw this place originally on TikTok and wanted to try their matcha, but unfortunately they had opened recently when I went and so they were out of matcha. BUT their coffee was delicious! Specifically the cream top which I found to be very unique - sizes and price are also of decent value for the competing area. I really like that you don't have to go as far as K-town for a nice study coffee shop as a UCLA student! Now what really surprised me was THE FOOD. I kid you not, I thought about this arugula burrata and prosciutto flatbread for weeks on end after until I got to making it myself. It's very well done and I like that they have more options than just avo toast -their menu pairs incredibly well with the drinks and I'm glad they have more than a pastry but less than a meal- the perfect in between. The place was clean, bathroom is very nice, and the plaza it's in is evidently new. Service was kind, and quick as can be. There's a decent amount of seating and large tables for groups as well as small ones for individual parties. I will say it's difficult to find parking and you will probably have to pay to park in the garage (I know there's validation for whole foods, not sure about the coffee shop) read more

After visiting several times, this is one of my favorite coffee spots. While I have gotten the same item every time because it is so good (Matcha Forest - $7.25), my husband has tried a handful of drinks but loves the Misugaru Latte ($7.75) best. While the drinks are on the pricier side, I can confirm they are worth it. Seating inside the Alchemist is usually hard to find since a lot of people camp out with their laptops. I don't know if pastries are made at the DTLA location or elsewhere; they are good but also on the pricey side and I can do without them. In addition to the Whole Foods, there will soon be other restaurants and places opening in the space. The parking is pretty easy to find (for now) and can be validated. read more

Everyone sings Alchemist's praises but I would describe it as an inoffensive matcha that wasn't too einspannery. The matcha powder was neither grassy nor bitter so it was an overall pleasant drink but unmemorable compared to competitors. Seating at this Cumulus location is hit or miss but there are outlets and it's close to the metro station (La Cienega / Jefferson). read more

I like it! They push the iced drinks which is fine with me, the Crème Brûlée latte is tasty, not too sweet and I enjoyed the Misugaru latte. The Misugaru is nutty, and has black sesame, so it different. The only complaint is that they use too much ice and I'd prefer more liquid in my drink. Albeit their ice cubes are clear and would be great in a cocktail! The shop is clean, they have a unique pour over coffee machine which one day I'll try. The best part is free validated parking in the same lot as Whole Foods and there are nice benches to sit outside to enjoy the sun! read more

Nice clean, modern vibes in here - which makes sense bc it's part of the giant Cumulus housing complex that's got a Whole Foods a vet and other businesses attached to it. Super friendly staff and a nice looking spot with good seats for working and pretty chill vibes all around. I just wasn't that impressed with the coffee. Got a Spanish Latte that was pretty mild. I don't need it to be overly sweet but it should have a little more bite to it. That, plus the price ($7.25) and small size (10oz) adds up to just an OK experience. I'll be back and will try more items in the future, and might bump up to a 4 if the other menu items warrant an upgrade. read more

Alchemist Coffee Project is a new coffee chain in LA. This spot sits inside a popular plaza with validated parking. I actually really liked the plaza, as there was a lot of outdoor seating. The indoor seating was also really nice, and the bathroom was well maintained. Very cool vibes. The servers were also very nice! The drinks were surprisingly good, as I really liked my Yuzu Matcha Refresher was really good. Overall, Alchemist Coffee Project is a really cool coffee spot to check out! read more

So nice to have another consistent place in the westside to get my single-origin fix. Prices are reasonable all things considered with tariffs and whatnot. I use an aeropress at home; previously tried their Ethiopian (Yirgacheffe) which was so smooth. Now onto a Colombian (Jairo Arcila Lychee) which by golly has a rich lychee scent to it. Usually not too crowded. Parking is easy with the huge parking garage by Whole Foods. I have come in afternoon both times so sadly missed out on their baked goods but I'm eyeing their GF/vegan options which by themselves is enough reason to try this cafe. read more

Decided to try this place out because it has just opened near my house and it was worth it for a study session! Small coffee place tucked under an aparment complex which means plenty of parking and they validate for 2 hours, which I think is pretty nice. Quick service from staff. I ordered a Matcha Latte Einspanner and I think it was OK, nothing stands out and I thought it was kind of overprice because the cup is small, but I guess it gave me just enough caffein to pass through 50 pages of the book. Really busy at 6pm with people coming study, limited seating inside but +1 for pet friendly! Will definitely come back! read more

Alchemist is located across the apartment complex with Whole Foods in the Cumulus area! The doors to the line/ordering are tinted so we missed it initially, but the flow was efficient and staff was friendly despite the soft opening. We got the matcha einspänner and house brew. Both were very good and the matcha einspänner cream top was the perfect amount of sweetness (like 70-80% sweetness) that was balanced by the cream. The matcha itself had a little bitter aftertaste and wasn't the smoothest, but the drink overall was still very delicious!! It is definitely one of the better places to get matcha lattes in Culver City. We parked in the same lot for Whole Foods and we did a little shopping at Whole Foods after where they'll validate parking for 90 minutes. Inside was trendy and spacious, a few groups were already there by 9:30 AM doing work or meeting friends. The music is more hip hop/pop when we went and not background coffee shop music for focusing. We're excited that Alchemist is now in Culver City and can't wait to come back to try other drinks! read more

It's almost a month since I noticed Alchemist would make its way to Cumulus and yeah finally the door's officially opened! Could easily say it's my favorite Alchemist among the 3 now; beyond the gorgeous design, it's also a very practical space to work with plenty of seats occupied with power outlets! I could see lots of students would hangout here especially it resided in the apartment where I knew tons of students stayed. For non-residents, great news they did 2-hour parking validation. The barista in charge last Friday afternoon was super kind. I came pretty late and stayed until almost closing time for something urgent to finish, and she politely reminded me but let me take my time (really appreciate you!). I went for their hot Caramel Latte with almond milk, which was delightful and I could swiftly finish in a blink. Balanced bitter and sweet notes with rich body! read more
