Back here for their other drinks and this time it's the turn for cold ones! Also the vibe's quite different this time as they opened the door of the space, making it like semi open-air spot. Perfect for this season as it's still bit chilly on the day. We got our orders pretty swiftly and love that the size was pretty big for accompanying us sitting and getting some work done. We got their Cream Cold Brew and Butterscotch Latte, both of which came with cream top. Their cream top was nicely airy with hint of sweetness. The cold brew prolly wasn't my favorite being more on the acidic side. The Butterscotch was more for you who loved sweet latte, felt more like a treat for me than coffee but certainly no complaints. read more

Staff was super helpful & patient. Tons of room for seating and working, volume on everything was ideal. The blueberry jam muffin was crazy good, not too sweet or tart, the jam in the middle was the perfect amount. I thought it'd be too decadent but it was perfect. We came here as a stop from our tour around the city. This place is in not a very nice area, but once you walk inside it's a whole different world. This place has a very calm feel with a modern laid back style. They have fresh food on the fridge for in the go a pastries. My bf loved the blueberry muffin and our teas were very tasty. The staff were very friendly and accommodating and the drinks were out quick. They do have a restroom on property which was nice. I would highly recommend this coffee shop. read more

Honestly this is such a cute spot and a great addition to this neighborhood. Ive been coming here on and off since it opened, and usually get coffee to go with my pup Charlie, and once or twice had the time to sit in for study/work and the vibe and music is just right. Parking is not bad, there's two hour street parking around the area. The service is nice, they're friendly and will get out of your way to let you focus on working. The food is kind of pricy, $15-20 but its pretty large so not the worst deal. There's a large area for you to work with and it looks like it opens up if the weather warms up to let the breeze in so I can imagine this would be a great spot to work at during the summer, drinking coffee in hand. Not sure on the outlet situation, I only stayed there for two hours. read more

The coffees are unique in the sense that not many coffee shops offer these flavors. The iced butterscotch latte comes with cold foam and it's a sweeter coffee. It's fire! The iced honey oat latte is also good, you can taste the honey forsure but it's good and sweet. The area is nice they have several seating available with multiple outlets. Perfect place to do some work with coffee. The seating area is open next to the street so it can be noisy if that bothers you. There is music playing over the speakers which isn't too loud but gives the space a nice vibe. Overall 10/10! Service was fast. read more

I came here on a random Monday around 11 am. They have a decent space for people to sit, enjoy their drinks/food, work on laptops, and whatnot. The space is minimalist, or at least clean/simple decor-wise, so I was able to focus on the one task I have myself during this coffee trip. I found street parking easily right in front. I ordered a bacon cheddar scone - it was delicious. I love savory scones. I got the cold brew cream with caramel cream and sea salt. I stopped by today for the first time. I was riding to another Cafe on my bike with my kid and noticed it so we stopped. As I walked up the guy working immediately noticed me. There was no one else inside, but his stare was off putting. I spoke first and asked did they sell pastries. He said no. So I went to look in the fridge, just as another customer had walk in. After that customer moved to the cash register I noticed a menu with all pastries and baked goods on the counter. I asked again and he said no we dont sell pastries. I asked why they have the menu. He said oh, we just sold out after a morning rush. The whole time, despite the other customer, a single white man, coming in, he stared at me and my son. After the exchange, I left. I dont know why he lied about selling pastries and it was just after 11am so its wild that they are out for the day. The worst part for me was the stare down. It made me feel very unwelcomed. I will never be back or recommend anyone visit. I'll stick to South LA Cafe, where we proceeded to go, and we're met with amazing customer service. read more

I love my coffee shops & I always try to be unbiased in coffee shop reviews because I used to be a barista & I understand how busy service can get! The service was fast & attentive! The workers seemed to be in good spirits when I came in around 8:45am! It was quite busy. The ambiance was loud, but also had other working Great seating with an outlet cord with multiple outlets, not sure if there's more than one tho WIFI not working: I came here to work from home & the WiFi was horrible. I had to leave around 30 minutes into being there (not the workers fault for the WiFi not working). The WiFi kept kicking me off & was buffering Now for the food! Hawaiian burrito 4/10: the tortilla was soggy & ripped when touched. The flavor was there, the tortilla was not.. it seemed liked they may have microwaved the burrito which may have caused the tortilla to be soggy, not sure if there is another method they can use to avoid this for the future Now for the drinks! Hot Matcha latte 8/10: the flavor was there! However, I think they may have steamed the milk to "kids temp" & was luke warm when I received it. I actually hate that my first review for this place is negative, I will make sure to also leave a positive review the next time im in! But i wanna make sure this reaches the right people. I come here about 1-2 times a week, re-up on beans (they are the best) and an iced vanilla or honey cortado w/oat milk. Today i came in for my usual and saw someone new working the bar. My first drink came out and did not look right at all, i stirred it and grounds came up, the barista noticed and offered to make it again. It came out again and still didnt look right but usually they give me my drink mixed already---not a big deal. I mixed it and left before trying it because i was in a bit of a rush. Unfortunately there were still a bunch of coffee grounds in my drink and a MASSIVE amount of syrup. I poured water in it to dilute, so it wouldnt go to waste. Which was a bad idea because the STOMACH ACHE. I have is crazy. I have never had an experience like this here. As a longtime barista myself, i have always appreciated the standard of quality and consistency of this place. But this was a big miss. read more

I've already previously reviewed Café 5 a couple of times. I think I gave four stars last time because I was very frustrated with the (previous) Wi-Fi. If there were too many people there you couldn't log on, or if you did long on it cut you off, etc. So I just wanted to update my review to reflect the fact that they have completely fixed the Wi-Fi! It's a totally different system now and I never have any logon problems nor do I get disconnected while working. Yay. The coffee is still delicious, the ambiance and vibe is still great. And I am planning on trying one of their burritos today. I was there one morning when the gentleman was dropping them off and they're apparently delivered fresh every day so that's awesome. read more

Cafe5 is one of my favorite study spots in LA. It has everything that you would want for a fantastic coffeeshop: amazing service, yummy drinks, easy parking, fast Wi-Fi, etc. The service is consistently friendly and fast. The workers are super easygoing and nice, and they are fast with making your drinks and bringing them to your seat. The cafe itself has a lot of natural lighting and a variety of seat types and options. There is a decent number of places to sit, but it does get crowded on the weekends (especially when school is in session since it's popular for USC students). I also really like their drinks. Beyond the typical coffee offerings, they also have a number of specialty drinks that are all really good. I've gotten their Vanilla Bean Latte, Butter Scotch Latte, Honey Oat Latte, and Honey Lavender, which I all enjoyed and would gladly order again. Some of the drinks, such as the Butter Scotch Latte, are on the sweeter side, but if you let the barista know, they're always happy to adjust the sweetness for you. Currently, my regular go-to drink is the Matcha Latte with Lavender Cream--it's SO yummy and creamy! I highly recommend literally anything on the menu. One drawback is that the drinks can get a little pricey, but it's nothing abnormal for LA. Cafe5 is also a great space for working. I've never had an issue with their Wi-Fi, and they have a lot of outlets. They also play really good music--it's usually mostly soft R&B and alternative/indie music, but it's a good vibe for studying. In terms of parking, they have free street parking in front of the store, and I have always been able to find a spot pretty quick. All in all, I LOVE this coffeeshop and always enjoy my visit. read more

I went with very high expectations based on all the glowing reviews, but I'm just not as enthusiastic about this place as everyone else -- mostly because of the ambience/noise. Food -- We ordered two hot chocolates through the Joe app and they got started on them right away when we got there and mentioned it. They tasted great. The almond croissant was absolutely delicious. I was hoping it to be a bit more flakey/have more crunch but the almond paste inside was simply amazing. Not the best I've had, but would still recommend. Service -- Pleasant and quick. Ambiance -- Here's where I felt that the cafe unfortunately came short for me. The interior is nice. Like others have mentioned, the seating area has been converted from a garage, but it's clean, open, and spacious. There's a lot of seats to work at. It seems that they open the garage door to the outside street when the weather is nice, which is cool but there was so much noise the day I went. Ambulances and police cars with their super loud sirens on went by what seemed like at least every hour, if not a few times per hour so it was really disturbing every time as the cafe is right next to the street. They play the music a little too loud for my liking, and the genre is personally not too conducive to my work environment needs. I'm glad I tried out this cafe and I hope they do well! I've been here twice and I love the coffeeeeeee. Coffee with cinnamon is my favorite so the Spanish latte is perfect . It has a good combination of that coffee taste and sweetness. The sweetness is not overpowering. My only complaint is that this is their biggest size so sometimes for my long work hours it requires buying two because one isn't enough. read more

Oh! My! Goodness! I just moved to the area. I'm a Coffee Bean type of girl. I used to go to Coffee Bean on the daily. I'm one of their top customers but...hold up! This new spot is vibez on top of vibez. Went in on a drizzle day in Southern Cali. I was immediately greeted with warm welcome and hellos! Their menu is not as extensive as a Starbucks or CB but they get right to the point. I ordered the butterscotch iced latte and got a hot honey lavender for my daughter. Absolutely delicious!!!!! So creamy, decadent, rich and smooth! This artisan Coffee spot hit the right notes for me and I am so glad they are so close. I only wish they had a drive thru...lol.
