This time I had their club sandwich, side of French toast, mocha cappuccino and Cuban coffee The club sandwich is packed with sliced turkey accompanied by tomatoes and arugula, then sandwiched between two slices of sourdough. And I mean two separate slices of sourdough, not one slice cut into two pieces which means this is a good size sandwich. They were also pretty conservative with the aoli which I appreciated because it wasn't overpowering the entire dish. The tots it came with were fried to crunchy perfection The french toast, although fairly simple, used a slice of sourdough which worked out great because it gave it a better structure making it more "springy" and less soggy like many other breads tend to be. It wasn't too eggy and overall a good dish The mocha cappuccino was made perfectly of equal parts espresso, steamed milk, and frothed milk. The flavor itself was a great balance of coffee and chocolate The Cuban coffee was great for coffee but in my opinion not a Cuban coffee. Wonderful spot for brunch in Long Beach. We went to visit my daughter by CSULB and came here for brunch. Wait was not too long but we did go around 1:00 pm. We were seated with in 15 minutes. The food is really good. Excellent. Fresh food with unique flavors. We had chicken and waffles. My husband said is was great as waffle and chicken were crunchy topped with jalapeños which was a nice treat for him. We started off with some espresso martinis and they were good but very strong! Our waitress was actually very nice and recommended a few things to us. I went with a two egg breakfast with a waffle. I ended up getting tater tots because they did not have potatoes... That was one of my downfalls, but the tater tots were really good! The waffle was cooked perfectly. We also tried out the breakfast fries with a pancake, and my friend gave it five out of five. The fries were very rich and well balanced, and one of their favorite dishes. The server told me that they put cheese (not sure what kind of cheese) with the potato, and the cheese made the potato sour. The turkey sausage was tasteless and chewy. Typical American breakfast with constantly craveble dishes such as the Lemon Cake Pancakes and Pig candy (smoked bacon with maple syrup, brown sugar, cayenne and red pepper flakes). Also the perk that it is a full service bar from 6AM to close. I have also come for their early morning "walk of shame" hours and it is a treat. The waffle was perfectly made, crisp outside and soft inside. The combination of syrup, blueberries, and strawberry slices on top of the waffle made for a heavenly breakfast. The bacon was delicious, fried to that sweet spot in-between crispy and chewy. You'd think eggs are just eggs but these tasted extra good; not sure if they did something to elevate the taste or if my taste buds were just in a happy mood.
