We came here twice within a week because the first visit was so good we had to come back. The vibe is very cozy cafe style small seating area, but it fits the atmosphere perfectly. Our first visit was on a Tuesday and we got seated right away. The first thing I noticed was how friendly and attentive the staff was. They kept things moving without making anyone feel rushed. The food came out fast and looked amazing. One of the servers recommended the Hangover Omelet, and it did not disappoint. At one point my pregnant wife accidentally spilled orange juice all over her plate, and what I'm assuming was the manager immediately came over, replaced everything, and made us feel completely comfortable about it. Super welcoming service. We came back the following Monday and it was much busier with a different staff. We had to wait a bit, which was understandable, but the manager that day came across a little cold and seemed bothered that we waited inside instead of outside (we honestly didn't notice any sign). That said, our waitress was fantastic very friendly and attentive. She recommended the weekly special wet breakfast burrito and WOW... it was incredible. Honestly, it should become a permanent menu item because I'd come back just for that. The food here is absolutely worth it and easily 5-star quality. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was the experience with the manager on the second visit. I live far from here but if I'm in the area I'll definitely come back.

Down here helping our daughter get ready for her wedding and we were all hungry for breakfast. We found this gem of a place. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are very hefty. Service is friendly and continuous without being intrusive. I got the international omelette that came with hashbrowns. The omelette was cooked perfectly. Had plenty of ingredients in it including plenty of meat. My daughter got the chorizo burrito and she loved it. My other daughter got the lemon blueberry pancakes, and she ate all of it. My wife got an omelette that was cooked to her liking. We sat outside in the summer morning and enjoyed it. We definitely would come back here if in town and had the time.

Service was good, pretty prompt on bringing out their food, the presentation was a little crazy but the food was great! Usually when I come here it's good! I can't complain! And it's a Christian cafe such a plus in this crazy world! Loved the music playing in the background!

This was a neighborhood diner. We chose to eat outside on a beautiful Saturday morning at 11:30 AM. The waitress was absolutely amazing. It was my 1st time eating here. We had a party of 4. The food was good/ not great but good. The breakfast potatoes came out burnt , so we had to send those back. My toast was incorrect. They gave me sourdough instead of white toast. The cinnamon roll was delicious. Everyone in my party enjoyed their food. Not sure if we would return ; however, it is a cute spot to go eat outside and enjoy the weather. Side note: (No toilet paper in the restroom) (Plenty of street parking)

I love Cornbeef hash but the one here wasn't really to my liking. I do not like peppercorn and definitely not in my Cornbeef hash. I also like it with rice, not an option here. It was ok. I'll have to try something else when I go back. Omelette was a 3/5 goo but not great. Pancakes were 4/5. Id come back for that. The cinnamon roll was next level. 6/5, it was that good. Cold brew flight was ok. Nothing to write home about . Service was top notch. Busser, Host, Server were on it. I never set foot inside because I sat outside. I'm still salivating over that cinnamon roll and tempted to go back right now. Thank you for a good experience. See you soon.

Village Cafe on Viking Way is a quaint, classic diner. A place where you know the food is going to be good when you see that table of retired guys over in the corner solving all of the world's problems over breakfast. The California Omelet that had bacon and Ortega chilies and its delicious. The American breakfast with a nice thick slice of ham is also fantastic. Our friendly server recommended a Big County Skillet. We quickly understood why this was a popular order. The gravy came on the side, and it's great to choose how much to use and it's tasty. The Cinnamon Roll is also highly recommended. Expect a crowd, but go get a table, sit down and enjoy. Friendly staff.

The pancakes here are so light and fluffy and delicious!!! Located in the cutest, quaint downtown area. We were seated quickly in first available outside - but they had space heaters for each table so it was perfect! Our server Olivia was the sweetest and super helpful and attentive. We will be back soon!! Gingerbread chai latte was sooooo tasty! Mimosas and Bloody Marys are super reasonably priced as well!

If you're looking for a breakfast spot that not only serves delicious, healthy food but also treats you like family the moment you walk through the door -- look no further. From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with genuine smiles and warm hellos. The staff here remember your name, your favorite order, and even ask how your day is going -- it's like visiting family (the kind that cooks amazing food!). The menu is packed with fresh, wholesome options -- think avocado toast done right, smoothie bowls that taste as good as they look, and hearty scrambles loaded with local veggies. And somehow, they manage to make it all feel indulgent without any guilt. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, with a neighborhood vibe that makes you want to linger a little longer over your coffee. It's clear the owners care deeply about community, health, and good food -- and it shows in every detail. Whether you're stopping in after a workout, grabbing a bite with friends, or just treating yourself to a solo breakfast date, this place hits the spot every time. Do yourself a favor and check it out. Places like this are rare -- and once you find it, you'll never want to let it go.

Time and time again this place amazes me! I absolutely LOVE The Village Cafe. . Wish I knew about them sooner. Go check out this cute little cafe with great customer service and great food! I promise you won't be disappointed. I will let you know that there just might be a wait when you go, but don't be discouraged... wait patiently for a delicious meal and service with a smile. I love that they are on top of everything. I've never had to wave someone down to ask for a refill nor a togo box.. So go show them some love & thank me later Oh & I can't forget ... if you go on the weekends, the Chile Verde omelette special is out of this world!!!

Not a super huge fan of French cuisine; however, the menu looked good and mostly reasonable prices. Restaurant is super cute with indoor/outdoor seating. We started off with a bottle of cab (41.00, ouch)! It was noted as a different brand on their menu and they came with a bottle of Josh Cellars which isn't a bad table wine but about 3 times the price! We ended up ordering the fondue for the app (24.00) which comes with bite size pieces of bread and diced apples. It was ok, a little too runny and had an interesting hint of beer flavor. Next up we both ordered the brie & prosciutto sandwich which came with a side of au gratin and greens. The sandwich was excellent but the potatoes were cold. We ended our meal sharing creme brulee for dessert. It was good but also served cold. Total bill incl tip: 163.00 bucks (double ouch)! Overall, meal and service was good, but I would forego the wine on a future visit as it was way overpriced for the brand we got as well as the cheese fondue. Will definitely be back though. Everything feels clean, classy and thoughtfully put together. When you first arrive, seeing the line out the door can be a little intimidating. Usually at places like this, I feel like I have to fight for my life to find a table, but thankfully that wasn't the case here. The staff was very kind and asks how many are in your party and helps you get a table, which made everything much less stressful. They also give you menus while you wait so you can decide what you want ahead of time. We arrived at 10:30am and our wait was about 30 minutes so by the time we were able to order at 11am, the lunch menu was also available. I ordered the tater tots, Cinnagave Shaken Espresso, Dutch Baby Pancake and country sourdough toast with jam. With tax and tip, my total came out to around $40. It's definitely pricier than what I normally pay for breakfast. Most entrées range from $17-$34 and coffees are around $5-$10, so you can easily spend $30+ for one person. In these hard times, that's not exactly ideal for me. I also wanted to try a pastry to get the full experience, but when I found out the small blackberry danish was $7, I decided to pass. I just couldn't justify getting that close to $50 for breakfast for one person. Now for the food! The country sourdough toast with jam was actually my favorite item. The homemade sourdough was incredible and honestly deserves its roses. It sounds like such a simple thing, but it was so well done and easily the standout for me. Visually, the Dutch Baby Pancake was beautiful and definitely impressive when it came out. I've always wanted to try one, so I was excited! I will say, I've read everywhere that Dutch babies are supposed to have more of a custardy center and even the photos I've seen look that way. Mine didn't really have that texture at all and tasted more like a crepe. Maybe it was a little overcooked? It wasn't bad, just not quite what I expected. Still delicious! Unfortunately, the tater tots were the biggest disappointment. They weren't crispy, didn't taste seasoned and sort of fell apart until they became one big potato mess. My cousins and I ended up not finishing them. One of my cousins ordered the summer peach and corn salad, which she liked! Just a heads-up that it's only available after 11 a.m. My other cousin got the skillet, she mentioned feeling a little disappointed since it tasted a little dry and didn't finish her plate. However they both ordered the Curious George drink and LOVED it! The Cinnagave Shaken Espresso was also fantastic. Coffee is definitely something they do very well here and I can see myself getting again. Overall, the aesthetics are adorable and I could see this being a great date spot. The coffee was fantastic, the sourdough was amazing, but the rest of the food was just okay for us. That was a little disappointing because everything sounds SO good on paper. Maybe we just caught them on an off day. The prices are probably the biggest thing holding me back from coming back regularly. Spending $30-$40+ per person for breakfast isn't really in my budget right now, but if this is within your price range, you may have a completely different experience. When I review a place, I try to take the overall experience, personal taste and effort into account. For now, I'm leaving Zuzu's Petals at 4 stars because the effort is definitely there, and what isn't my cup of tea may be someone else's liquid gold. I'd still give them another chance in the future... after I get paid!

The menu has a ton of really detailed options, each drink with its own depth. The menu changes seasonally but what doesn't change is the smoked old fashioned - a must-order. They smoke your drink in a glass container using applewood chips; it's quite a show and it also does make the drink much more enjoyable. Ask the bartender and they can also help guide you to a drink - I've done it a couple of times and always pleasantly surprised. Next up, the food! The hummus was very flavorful and paired with an amazing fluffy pita bread. The truffle fries were solid but the plate was HUGE, definitely needs a friend to share. The Nashville wings are the star of the show. I cannot stress this enough, this is worth a DRIVE for. The seasoning really does remind you of Howlin' Rays (the highest compliment) and the chicken is extremely crispy yet insanely juicy. The pickles and ranch that it comes with pairs so well. Do note that they are tossing it in pork fat, which enhances the depth but also makes it a little greasy at the end. I also wished they'd warn you this and offer to order it without it; especially for those who don't eat pork or for those trying to cut some calories. There's a happy hour menu too!!! So you can get drinks and food even cheaper. I cannot stop thinking about this place. It's such a sleeper. Head to Midnight Oil after a visit to continue your night.

I eventually ordered the Crispy Shrimp & Calamari to eat as my main (I was dining alone). I had recently had a very notable version of the same dish at a Canopy by Hilton in Washington DC, and unfortunately, this one did not measure up. The breading was average and the sweet chili aioli was poor. I asked for ranch instead, which was an improvement but still not great. The portion itself was fine. Service was solid and friendly! I'd rate the staff around a 4. Based on the food I had, the kitchen lands closer to a 2.5 to 3. Fine if you're already in the hotel and want something casual, but not an amazing choice for the fried seafood.
