I hate that I have to write this because this was my spot, I absolutely loved there burgers. I would always go their original location in Alhambra, I was there at least every 2 weeks the most. Even when covid hit we would still go and get our burgers. 5/8/26 we went to there new location I was like this is kinda nice by the water but I'm not going to lie but I do miss them being in Alhambra. My husband went to order the food so excited to eat my naplam death that was my only go to burger. Food was good but I did notice it gotten smaller with there burgers so disappointing because the burgers were huge! Needless to say as much I love grill'em All I won't be returning. It's about an hour drive which if the burgers were the same from the Alhambra location I would make the driver but they're not. It breaks my heart because this was my favorite burger spot and I would rave about to people how amazing your burgers are. I wish you all the best in the new location. Great burgers and really good fries right on the beach and with a metal theme to everything. It gets busy but even with a line for food got to order and got the food fairly quickly. I tried the Metallica burger and it was a great bacon burger with avocado. Very filling barely had room to eat my hand cut fries. The space is super cool and the music playing is excellent. They've got lots of beer options as well. Definitely will be going back to try some of the more unusual options like the Dee Snider and Napalm Death. Loved the decor and the vibe. read more

Grill 'Em All makes genuinely good food, and I've enjoyed eating there over the years. But it's hard not to notice the disconnect between branding themselves so heavily around metal culture while giving little to no support back to the actual bands whose influence they profit from. Their entire identity is built around metal imagery, references, album-inspired burgers, and the culture created by touring metal bands around the world. That aesthetic and influence is a huge part of what draws people in, yet there's seemingly no appreciation extended toward the musicians who helped build that culture in the first place. The food is solid, but if you're going to base your business around metal and profit from the branding and influence of those bands, it would be nice to see some level of support or acknowledgment given back to the artists themselves. read more

This place doesn't mess around with portion sizes, vibes, and creativity. Deliciously themed, properly constructed, and tasty. Best new burger I've had in years. My son got the behemoth that unbeknownst to us is sandwiched between two grilled cheese sandwiches. Stacked heavy and it defeated him. I got the Napalm Death and it didn't disappoint. Huge, messy, spicy, and the cream cheese worked super well against the stacks of spicy (jalapeños, jalapeño poppers, sriracha). An order of Primate Fries are easily a portion for 2-3 with burgers this huge. Friendly and dogs allowed everywhere. Worth the stop. read more

I work on 2nd street and I just found out about this place. I just got the classic burger (winger) with fries and a side of ranch and OMG. I was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. The patty was thick and juicy and the sauce didn't overpower at all. The fries are sooo so so yummy too. Ranch is so tasty and runny (which is how I prefer it). Decent burger spot! We biked all the way here from Downtown Long Beach area because we wanted to work for our food. Service is friendly and you just order at the counter. I got the Winger and I believe my husband got the Long Beach Dirtbag with a side of fries. We shared the fries and they give a good amount! It was delicious and we both liked our burgers. I would add red onions to my burger next time. The restaurant is next to the beach. We sat outside on the patio area. There's also an upstairs section. The perfect lunch spot after lounging around Horny Corner for the day. Pro tip: You can get their Burger of the Month as fries! And that is exactly what I did. In July, their burger of the month special was a carnitas burger, so I got those as fries. As a base, I love their fries. They're a thicker cut, rustic fry, and they're the perfect vessel for meat and sauces. These fries were topped with carnitas, tomatillo salsa, radishes, and sour cream. Damn, these were so good. I wish they would keep it on their main menu, but I'm excited to try new BOTM specials.  It's a very casual spot where you order at the counter, and they bring out the food to you. They also have beers on draft, like Harland Rice Lager, which is a personal favorite of mine. I went to the old location a few times and was pleasantly surprised when they decided to move to my city. This location feels a lot more beachy and has a ton of seating compared to the old one. There an upstairs seating area outside. We were one of the only people in there so we got our food in a timely manner. I ordered the Long Beach Dirtbag and it was so damn good. One of the best burgers I've ever had. My fiancée got the Hermano (burger of the month) and high on fries and he loved it. I tried the high on fries and it was delicious. I do wish the burgers were a bit bigger but they are for sure worth the price. read more

Another 5 star review for this gem of a spot. I actually got a salad today which I was nervous about because...it's a burger spot. The salad was actually really good! It had shredded buffalo chicken in it with a nice creamy blue cheese dressing--full of flavor. My kiddos got the corn dogs and were being very slow at eating them, so I obviously had to try one and they kind of blew me away!! I wasn't expecting them to be as good as they were. The batter they use on them tastes SO good, it reminded me of a hand dipped corn dog you'd get at a fair or a carnival. I really appreciate how they have some games for kiddos to play with too, it allowed us to actually enjoy our beers and eat our food. The location can't be beat since it's right on the beach. I loved the metal ambiance. The burger itself was alright-not bad, not awesome, though it definitely kept me full all day. The food is slightly different than the original location and food truck (which i personally preferred, miss u alhambra location), but honestly its is still good, and I would go back if i was in the area. Very cute location right by bayshore beach. Outside patio, inside section and upstairs outside area. I could imagine it gets packed in the summer. We tried the ozzy - blue cheese, chimichurri, onion straws, field greens, garlic aioli on a black bun. Tasty would recommend if you like blue cheese. Napalm death - jalapeño poppers, pickles jalapeños, habanero aioli, pepper jack cheese, cream cheese, sriracha. Overkill. We got no cream cheese and it was still kind of sickening. I got it because I love spicy but there was too much going on. Can't imagine eating it with the cream cheese. Fries- tasted fresh and leftovers held up next day in the air fryer nicely. Me and my girlfriend stopped by Grill Em All and honestly, the experience was a bit of a mixed bag. First off, the staff is awesome super friendly, welcoming, and laid-back. The vibe is chill with a great waterfront view that makes it a solid spot to hang out and enjoy a meal with a beer. Food wise though, things didn't quite hit. My girlfriend got the Waste Em All burger, and I grabbed the Napalm Death. Both sounded like they'd be flavor bombs, but ended up surprisingly bland. Hers was probably the most flavorless burger I've ever tried and mine despite looking saucy and loaded only stepped it up a notch above hers. Definitely underwhelming, especially given how creative the menu sounds. On the bright side, the buffalo wings were decent, and the Long Beach Dirt Bag Fries absolutely carried the meal loaded, flavorful, and definitely worth coming back for. Overall, I'm not sure if we came on an off night, but based on the dope staff, vibes, the view, and those fries, I'd give this place another shot. This place always gives me bittersweet emotions. I love their PB & J burger because it's super juicy and a great combination of savory and sweet. It gets messy and your burger might break apart but it's worth it... I'm sad that they moved out of Alhambra because now it's super far for me and the parking is a little more annoying in this new location. I just went solely as a curiosity. I needed to see the transformation of the Kayak Café, the former name provided by restauranteur, and entrepreneur, Fred Khammar RIP . The former owner breathed life and good times into this café. You can still feel his smile and good vibes. The new ownership has taken it to the next level and Fred would be proud. He would likely pull up a chair, kick back, eat drink and be merry in this new rendition. 100% Support this restaurant, especially in the winter and spring when you can find parking, a table, & fully enjoy the music, the view the great food (the menu is outstanding), the staff (decked out in heavy metal T-shirts, tattoos, piercings, and rocking out at all times). I don't remember the first time we found ourselves nearby and stopped in for a bite. My first thought was that it must be expensive and not very tasty since the restaurant is right on the beach. But hunger prevailed, and we took a chance. It turned out the prices were the same as anywhere in California, and definitely not more expensive. And the burgers, fries, and beer were excellent (you can't take alcohol out of the restaurant). The atmosphere was great! Ozzy would have loved it. This summer, we met up with friends every Friday, and fries for our hungry kids after swimming became a must-have. The kids loved the mini coney dogs, and the adults loved the Ozzy Osbourne Fries and Long Beach Dirtbag Fries. I often get a black burger for myself. Great burger spot that I wish I knew about sooner! Location is prime and right by the water. We tried several burgers and they were all delicious! High quality and fresh ingredients and the burgers are made to order. My favorite was the Ozzy burger, and the blue cheese and chimichurri went perfectly with the burger. What a great experience! The vibe is so rad. It's total rock-n-roll with a super beachy chill vibe. Hubs and I ordered just a side of fries with their ranch and garlic aioli & a couple Mich Ultras. The fries are real potatoes. The ranch tasted homemade. The garlic aioli was delicious. You order and pay, tell them if you're going to be downstairs or upstairs, they bring you your food. I can't wait to come back and try a burger as well. The service was above average. I got smiles and think you'd and please. Just polite people who clearly don't hate their job. I absolutely adore this place. Located in front of a nice mini beach with great views and amazing music blasting in the speakers. Been a fan of this place since the Alhambra days. My only complaint is that it's an hour away from me but the trip out here is always worth it. My bf and I always get the Jump in the Fryer and it is always fire. It's usually pretty packed when we come so food can take a while but it's fresh and worth the wait. I've never had a rude or awkward interaction with any of the employees either. I have the say that the juxtaposition was a bit jarring, but it still works. The menu offers an interesting combination of the chef's interpretation of the various heavy metal themes. We were there on Labor Day for lunch, and the line never got too short. Due to its proximity to the beach, the air was filled with the aroma of charred meat and sun screen. The attire of the patrons was skimpy, and it's not a bad spot to people watch and soak up the sun. There's an upstairs deck, but it's more packed than the shady dining tables on the ground level. I loved my Samoa Joe, which has a generous serving of several slices of pineapple, bacon, and cheddar cheese. It was stacked, messy, and satisfying. The grilled onion was some of the best that I've had on a burger. My son enjoyed his Immortal too. Service was good but slow. We waited for more than 20 minutes for our burgers, but it was worth the wait. I don't understand why some customers got a pager for their order and we got a card with our order number. The staff delivered the food to us, but I returned the metallica trays when we were done. Use the adjacent public bathroom sink to wash the grease off of your fingers. read more
