Others in our group had grilled cheese and poutine burger, and Italian burger and the hotdog and the breakfast burritos. No one was disappointed actually, we were surprisingly pleased with our selections. Sleeper items are the fried cheese curds by themselves. Make sure you get these. It was really loud during our visit. I'm not sure if it's always that lively on Friday nights, but it was the weekend of Warped Tour, so there was a lot of music and energy. If you're looking for a quieter meal, this may not be the best night to visit. The food itself was good, but the wait was much longer than expected. We waited almost 40 minutes for our order. Unfortunately, my burger was also made incorrectly. I ordered the Bacon Bleu Burger but was served a different burger instead. Not quite sure what it was, but it had mushrooms and American cheese. Since we had already waited so long, I decided to just eat it rather than send it back. The burgers were flavorful, but they were smaller than I expected for the price, and they don't come with fries. To round out my meal, I ordered the poutine fries. They were decent. The fries were nice and crispy, which I appreciated. My husband ordered the Burger Don Chendo, and that ended up being the standout of the night. Only really bad part is the area. One side of the street is clean and nice but the others are dirty and filled with less than reputable looking characters. The burgers are good though. This is probably why most people came in with online/phone orders for pickup and got the heck out of there in a hurry. Fries are okay at best but the onion rings are fantastic! I don't recommend the smash style burger because it's smaller and doesn't come with the fixings, but if that's your thing than by all means enjoy. I got the backyard bbq burger and it was very tasty. Not the best I've ever had but it definitely hits the spot and prices are not bad at all here. If I happen to be in the area again I would definitely be down to phone in my order and pickup for takeout to enjoy the tastiness somewhere I feel a little more comfortable. They were golden and crispy and paired well with the fresh side ranch sauce. However, this whole meal was oily, greasy, and fatty. There was a pool of liquids at the bottom of my basket which I wasn't a big fan of. However, the big portion sizes were good relative to price. I left not feeling the greatest and wanting a salad. If you're into food like this, it's a solid option though. Driving and parking in the area was a bit sketchy. It is also only street parking I believe. Walking-in the restaurant, the interior wasn't the nicest. It didn't seem very well maintained and there was thick smoke that filled the air and the surfaces were sticky from the menus to the tables. So I was really in the mood for a smashed burger and wanted to try something new. So thanks to other Yelp reviews, i drove down to Long Beach and tried Sideburns out! Parking can be stressful depending on what day/time. I was able to find parking on Zona Court, but kept watching my car. They are a block off Alamitos on 4th. Not the greatest block, but it was an awesome burger! The bun was soft, I did a regular Smashed Cheese Burger with the caramelized onions and their sauce. Bro behind the counter asked if I wanted lettuce and tomatoes - but wanted mine plain. Juicy burger, crispy edges, but it wasn't smashed as much as I would have liked. My patty was cooked medium to med rare (perfect) and seasoned well. Bread to patty ratio was good. I also ordered the onion rings. Nice thick and thin slices of onion dipped in an IPA batter that wasn't heavy and held onto the onion well. This was crispy, light and just a hint of heat (imho) in the batter - perfect. Next time I'm ordering a full order of onion rings! They had a selection of beers and sodas in the fridge - but if you want more, go next door to the bar and you can order food! The inside was a bit dark, it was at sunset so they may not turned on the lights yet. I'm a bigger dude and they only have booth seating here that was a bit snug. I found out about this place a little over a year ago. Was craving a burger and fries for lunch once and decided to check out a local spot. What really impressed me about this place last year was that one late night while I was hanging out with a friend, we were both hungry, and most places were already closed or close to closing. We also needed to pick a spot that offered vegan options for my friend and this place fit the bill (is that how the saying goes?). Anywho, I remember I ordered fries and my friend got the tots, and I kept grabbing his tots. So this last time around I went to pick up food for my daughter and myself. I ordered the Italian Stallion for myself and a kids cheeseburger with tots for both of us. The tots are so well-seasoned that I didn't even bother to dip them in ketchup. My daughter is not really a picky eater, but for some reason only ate less than half of her burger. I did not find anything wrong with it and ate it myself the next day without any issue.
