    Shrimp Ceviche, presented with plantains
    Edward N.

Found out about this place from a Yelp event I was invited to. At the event I tried the Shrimp Ceviche and and a few other items and drink samples they had. It left a good impression so I figured I'd go try the real deal out at some point. At the event the shrimp ceviche was served with plantain chips which if you're a central American, it's a nice touch. So for my dad's birthday I figure bring him here since we are central American something he would enjoy. Total bait and switch and it worked because based on what I got at the Yelp event I was expecting the same ingredients and presentation. I'll have images of what I had at the Yelp event vs what we were served. No plantain chips, we got tortilla chip strips, ceviche was more like a pico de gallo salsa with minimal shrimp chopped up so tiny you couldn't even taste it. Not worth the $24 or $25 that I paid for it. Even the ceviche de caracol looked like it had more protein in it than vegetables. Not sure if they're trying to save costs by making it more of a Salsa than ceviche. The waitress was attentive no complaints there and the location is pretty big inside. We were the only table there which I thought was a bit odd but figured maybe we came on an off day. They do have some TVs to watch sports, a small bar area and a little store front where you can buy items to take home. Parking in the area is pretty tough if you are driving since it's street parking. If you're a local walking then you're fine. Would we come back.. nope

    Tamarind. So good.

Food Tamarind drink - 4.7/5 Soursoup drink - 4.3/5 Yellow cherry drink - 4.4/5 (very funky) Passionfruit drink - 4.5/5 Bistec - A balanced and flavorful dish. Sweet plantains were the star, along with a solid carne asada. 4.5/5 Baleada chicharron - A smooth mouth-feel and seasoned nicely but a bit one note for my tastes. 4.2/5 Apple Nutella Baleada - A fantastic ender, the cinnamon apples cut through the fat of the homemade tortillas and nutella well. A delicious dessert that is better than a lot of higher-end restaurant desserts. 4.8/5 Service 5/5 - Some of the best service I've ever had on a Sunday night. He was attentive, gave excellent recommendations, and was social and polite. Ambiance 5/5 - An interesting blend of casual but also a low lighting atmosphere for a great date night. Overall, a memorable meal from beginning to end.

    tajadas

Wow, just wow! If you want authentic Honduran food, you need to try this place. Many people can't make a good baleada, but these are soft, and they come in many different styles such as with egg or steak. The tajadas are crunchy and favorable with all the toppings. Perfect for breakfast or dinner. The staff is kind and attentive, and the food came out quick. I love the honduran art inside, they also have many honduran souvenirs.

Being Honduran, it's hard to find a place that serves your cuisine. But upon finding this place, I have never been more thankful. The outside and inside is stunning and comfortable, and love the little imports shop they have. The food is delicious and always makes me full, my only recommendation is to add more Honduran desserts. Lastly the staff and service is great, always constantly checking on you and ensuring your experience is a great one.

That was delicious! A student organization ordered from this place, to cater an event. They had to pick up the foid--and we're so glad they did. Bandaleras, rice and beans and plantains. The plantains needed flavor. The rice and beans were SO good, I had to go back for at least 4 helpings! The bandaleras, a cross between a quesadilla and a Papua. Yum!

    Pollo Frito

The food was so terrible, the chicken was raw and unseasoned everything was just so bad we asked for our money back and they refused what is sad because their staff was so nice, the boss is so rude and doesn't care so NOT come here stay away.

    Chicken, coconut rice

What a hidden gem. I've walked by this place multiple times and decided to finally try it. The food was delicious and so flavorful. Very happy we stopped. For sure will be going again. Definitely a place to try.

Fui a comer al lugar la atención es buena pero no me gustó la comida pague 95$ y no comimos y luego compré unas semitas y están nacidas y duras

Nice dining experience. All the food was decent, but no real standout out dishes from what my family ordered.

The interior was smaller than I expected but still had a good number of tables and was clean and cozy. Service was friendly though we did converse exclusively in Spanish. The menu was large. Prices were definitely not cheap but portions are very generous. The soups came in large deep bowls and the baleada was HUGE. We ended up having leftovers enough for a whole second meal. We were served tortilla chips to start bathed in a creamy sauce and powdered cheese. We ordered tamarind and passionfruit water for drinks, which came in large glasses; the tamarind was not tart enough for my tastes but was not bad. Both the sopa de caracol and sopa de res were excellent, and came with rice and choice or tortillas or fried sliced green plantain (tajadas). The tomato and egg breakfast dish was great, and the baleada was tasty albeit salty. All of the various banana and plantain forms were yummy, and the flour and corn tortillas were freshly made and delicious. At the end of the meal, lollipops came with our check. There is a $1.25 surcharge for paying with card. Probably the one major gripe is that there was a considerable wait for our food, over 30 minutes for sure; just don't come in a hurry and appreciate that everything is made to order! Would definitely consider returning for Honduran food in Long Beach, equally good as the other Honduran restaurant in town.
