    Seafood ceviche.

The food was excellent. All the food was mouth watering . They took time to explain the menu, if where a new to the restaurant. It's very modern looking place and cozy. I would return, for the great food.

Stopped here on a whim. Food was delicious, the ceviche was my favorite. The lomo saltado was made with quality meat and it did not disappoint. My husband ordered the tallarin plate and he really enjoyed it. They serve bread with your meal and my son liked it so much we ordered seconds. The service was great, our server suggested what dishes to try and we were pleased with his suggestions. The restaurant was clean and the lights set the vibe for a great meal. We'll definitely come back again.

El Rocoto was my go-to Peruvian restaurant in college and has served me well for many years! Parking can be tricky since they share a lot with other restaurants, but the service is consistent and I never have to wait too long for a table. Their arroz con mariscos is a must-order! I prefer this to Spanish/Cuban paella, but that's just me. Their alfajores are also delicious.

The server Jorge made our families experience so memorable!! Thank you for the amazing food and service for our big group. The tacu tacu especial was delicious and tasted authentic as well as the lomo saltado and seco!

The food was delicious, and the portions were huge....definitely worth the money! Everything was flavorful without being greasy. The warm bread with the dipping sauces was such a tasty and unique touch. The atmosphere was calm with upbeat music, and the service was incredibly friendly and accommodating. We tried the recommended dishes, and they did not disappoint. Will definitely be back!

Go early so you dont have to wait. We try to make it once a month and we have something different each time. Our server, Jorge, was so attentive and gave a great recommendation. We had the seco de carne and lomo Saltado. Soft but upbeat Spanish music playing in the background to create such a great atmosphere.

Service was spot on, my jameson & seven served fast and stiff. The tacu tacu seafood was hit of the night, the oxtail was over salty. Everything else was tasty and made for a great family dinner....but the bill? $167.

A friend and I met up for lunch. We sat down right away. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. We ordered a ceviche mixto and shrimp with rice. My ceviche was ok. It needed more flavor or spice. Just felt like it needed more of something. Shrimp rice plate was good. Bread and sauces are always a hit. The restaurant is very popular and busy. Family friendly environment and nice and clean. I'd come back but not for the ceviche.

The food was amazing we had a group of 10 people and we had no complaints about the warmth and flavors of the food. The chaufa and lomo saltado was my favorite forsure id always recommend that to anyone trying this for their first time... Service and ambience was basically flawless as well don't forget about the free breads you get with your meals as well ‍

Casual , Peruvian food spot . I was there for lunch, my server Claudia was sweet and provided the kind of warm service I was craving. The menu has all the Peruvian known staples but I went with tallarin verde and Papa a la Huancaina. Something I don't see or cook often and It was yummy , reminds me of my family home cooking Glad I stopped there, I will be back

Parking was easy in the plaza. Service was decent. I got the Tallarin Verde with Grilled Chicken. I the pasta bland, chicken was just okay. My friend got the fried rice and she found it bland. Prices were up there, not worth it imo.

Came here for 2 Birthdays. We loved it so much the first time we came again. We really enjoy the Peruvian food here. The staff is always welcoming and accommodating. It's not a big place. Very intimate. You can never go wrong with their most popular dishes, their Saltados. You can choose steak, chicken, or seafood. Comes with French fries and white rice. Food is delicious.

Wow! This place was incredible. Jonathan was our server; he was knowledgeable, kind and friendly. We also had a secondary server who was also fantastic but I didn't catch her name. It was my first time but the others had been before and raved about the delicious food. We came for my brother in law's birthday; they even gave him a galleta/ cookie for dessert. The restaurant was cozy and authentic with Peruvian decor; also lots of space for our large party. Our family enjoyed many of the appetizers and main plates including pulpit a la parilla, various sashimi, tallarin verde, tacu tacu de mariscos (especially flavorful) and I had the fettuccine Huancaina, which was absolutely incredible. Our family shared and enjoyed every plate we tried. I don't think this place is hidden; it's been here for many years and it's a gem! Best birthday dinner we've had in a long time. Thank you, El Rocoto!

I was recommended this restaurant by a relative and they brought us here for dinner on Sunday! They have their own parking lot but there's very limited spaces if it does get busy. Walking in, we were instantly greeted and asked how many were in our party. We were instantly seated but there were quite a few occupied big tables around us. I couldn't catch our waitress's name but she was so attentive and nice to us! She would come ask if we needed refills, napkins, extra utensils, or extra bread and butter. After you order, you get complimentary bread and butter! They also have this green spicy sauce that you can dip your bread in. Between the 8 of us, we ordered 1 soup, 1 appetizer, and 4 main dishes! Everything came out so fast and was so tasty! You can even see the chefs preparing the food through the transparent glass. Food: Lomo Saltado (9/10): I absolutely loved this dish! The only thing I will say is that it was on a little salty for me but that's not something a little water couldn't help with. The beef was cooked so nicely, it was tender and the portioned nicely so it could be chewed with each bite. The grilled onions were for sure my favorite part. The onions soaked in all the sauce but were still crunchy which adds a nice texture to the soggy french fries. The french fries also soaked in all the sauce! There's also a side of rice to help make you more full! Tallarines Salteo de Carne (9/10): This dish was identical to the lomo saltado but instead of french fries, it was noodles! I equally loved this dish since they used the same sauce but with noodles instead! I had no complaints except it was on the saltier side but didn't mind it at all. Everything's the same as my lomo saltado review, perfectly cooked meat and onions! Jalea de Mariscos (9/10): This was our appetizer! It comes with a few fried items (fish fillet, shrimp, and squid). I think there are also Yukon potatoes but I could be mistaking it for another form of potato. The squids are fried in bite sized and they're so easy to eat! It also comes with an onion salsa that's so delicious! The salsa is sour so definitely be careful when dunking your food in there. I believe that this one comes in a half or full size!

I find the food here to be decent to satisfy my random Peruvian food cravings and not wildly far off from the food I had in Peru. I had gotten takeout here a few times but finally dined in for a weekday lunch recently. Didn't get the server's name, but service was amazing. We did stand by the entrance for a few minutes before anyone greeted us and seated us, but that could be due to the restaurant layout that's somewhat of an upside down L shape, and most people were sitting tucked inside away from the entrance. I've got ceviche mixto and recently ceviche mariscos. Both are satisfying. The difference is the mixto contains white fish and all the other seafood (shrimp, octopus, squid, mussels) while the ceviche mariscos only contains the non-fish seafood. They are not cheap, but the portion is generous and it is quite a lot of seafood. We got medium spicy for dine in, which was the right call. I think I had gotten spicy in the past, and while I love spicy food and have good tolerance, it was still spicy to me and distracted a bit from enjoying the seafood. The ceviche comes with sweet potato, yucca, boiled corn, and cancha (Peruvian corn nuts). And no meal is complete without a chicha morada. I also enjoy anything with platano frito. If I recall correctly, the tallarín verde and lúcuma ice cream were pretty good, too. The pionono is okay; I'm not a huge fan of sponge cake, and the dulce de leche is very sweet. I prefer Porto's tres leches cake, which I know isn't Peruvian, but is perfect for my taste.

We came in with our daughter, who is on the autism spectrum and has very specific food preferences and sensory needs. As we have done on previous visits, we brought food from McDonald's for her so that she could comfortably eat while we enjoyed our meal. We explained this to our waiter and let him know that we have always been allowed to do this in the past because of our daughter's special needs. Unfortunately, the waiter refused to allow our daughter to eat her food and repeatedly stated that his manager, Angel, made the rules. Despite explaining our situation and our long history as customers, there was no effort to accommodate us or show any understanding. What makes this even more disappointing is that we have been coming here for years and have spent a significant amount of money supporting this restaurant. Our family meals would often total close to $200, and we were regular customers who genuinely enjoyed dining here. It was upsetting to see that our loyalty seemed to mean nothing and that no consideration was given to our daughter's circumstances. Rather than make our daughter uncomfortable or cause a scene, we chose to leave. As parents of a child on the spectrum, we expected a little compassion and understanding. Instead, we felt unwelcome and dismissed. We are extremely disappointed by how this situation was handled and, sadly, after years of being loyal customers, we will not be coming back.

The tables were also sticky, and the overall interior was dated. No other customers came the whole time we were there during peak lunch time. My niece and I decided to share the Leche de Tigre ($21.99) and a Lomo Saltado ($19.99). The food came out in a decent amount of time. The leche de tigre was decent but the chips it came with were stale and insufficient in ratio of how much leche de tigre there was. The portion size was more than what we wanted to eat. The menu showed they used to have a smaller size and that would have been better for us. The lomo saltado is the most disappointing of all. This is typically a Peruvian restaurant main dish so I wanted my niece to try it, but this was such a bad first impression of Peruvian cuisine. The beef was tough and the flavor was forgettable. The fries were... edible. I didn't care for the rice. We barely touched it. We were so excited to come here and we left pretty disappointed with our appetites spoiled. Not recommended.

I would describe this place as that saying "Jack of all trades, master of none". I came with a group and we all ordered a variety of dishes, yet nothing stuck out. For a small space they have 1 waitress who needs better skills, she may be new. I say this because even as she brought out dishes she brought things out in pieces (got my shrimp cocktail, then had to ask for crackers, then had to ask for lemon, then had to ask for salt and pepper). Some points for the food: Talllarin - chicken was dry, pasta good Bandeja paisa - 7/10 arepa dry, no beef or beans Shrimp cocktail - very little shrimp, little to no juice, like a salsa mix in the cocktail Gyoza - good can't mess that up Lomo - eh fries came warm not hot, doesn't look like a traditional sauce The good things about this place: Good little green salsa and they served a good chicha de mora. Would I come back? No. You can definitely find better quality food and cheaper prices at a regular 1 cuisine restaurant. I would like to add presentation was nice on the food but nothing tasted quite right...

Trio of empanada (we got two chicken and one beef) piping hot and juicy delicious fillings , accompanied by a very spicy sauce. Tallarin verde (green sauced spaghetti) is topped by a thinly breaded steak that was cooked well done, still tender and quite tasty. Suitable for the child with us. The aji de gallina dish is served with a generous scoop of rice : sliced chicken breast in a slightly spicy huancaina cheesy sauce. Peruvian tamal was delicious and had shredded chicken in the masa.
