Pasta la vista, bay-bay La Pasta recently opened up in the food court at Los Cerritos Center, and I welcome the addition of a great new food spot in my neighborhood. The proprietors of La Pasta spent weeks in Italy to learn the artisanal craft of traditional Italian pasta making. Not a pasta aficionado, by any means, I do know what I like & what tastes good. Sweet Butter Tagliatelle w/ Shrimp & Cheese Wheel Toss- Creamy, with earthy & herbaceous notes from sage to balance out the brown butter sauce. The Tagliatelle was perfectly al dente, and a pleasure to chew with each bite. The optional Cheese Wheel Toss kicked up the unctuous mouth feel of the pasta, and was worth the extra cost. Very good. Next time, I'd add some heat from chili flakes or hot sauce. Creamy Vodka Spinach Pasta w/ Meatballs- Speaking of heat, the Creamy Vodka packed a punch! Sweat from my forehead poured, with each savory bite. The Spinach Pasta was good, however I prefer long pasta, as it's more fun to eat. The meatballs were generous in size. This dish is for the heat lovers. Service was excellent. The wait was minimal, and my entrees were well packaged. La Pasta is located in-between Ruby Thai Kitchen & The Grind in the food court of Los Cerritos Center. I try to limit carbs, but at La Pasta, my heart & my tummy look the other way! Sumptuous pasta dishes, w/o having to deal with the sit-down restaurant experience, La Pasta is a worthy food option at the Los Cerritos Center. All the options, from sauce to pasta to protein, make every visit a unique experience. I look forward to coming back & perusing the rest of the menu. Highly recommend!

It looks like a lot of sauce but it's not. The bottom was all bare noodles.

I wanted to beat the official grand opening. Easy to order, place was clean, food was decent. I ordered the Alfredo with the pasta that paired with it and added chicken. EST. Was 6 min. Pretty spot on. They took their time preparing the food and presented it well. Downfall: noodles were overcooked. It was so soft that it broke through the fork when I tired to mix it. Taste was bland, not enough Alfredo. It reminded me of boxed Alfredo. Chicken was spot on and glad it was shredded and not how it's pictured on the menu. Utensils were very flimsy. I don't like forks that can't roll pasta. Also, can't say the staff was great since I wasn't given my receipt back to thank him for his kindness. Would I come again? Maybe? Since it's still very new there is room for improvement.

I was really looking forward to this place but ultimately left disappointed! The good: the spinach tagliatelle was fresh, the Alfredo sauce paired with the Parmesan wheel was yummy (despite the temperature, see below) and I liked the bread. Their branding is cute too! The bad: our order was incorrect and everything was lukewarm; the chicken was ice cold. The chicken was supposed to go with the creamy vodka crestepasta, not the Alfredo. My partner just moved it onto his but it could've been a bigger deal if I were vegetarian! I also think the prices are a bit steep for food court pasta: this photo is $45 (!) worth of food. I didn't find the portion lacking in terms of hunger (not sure that's $3 worth of chicken though) but yeah, just kind of steep considering the overall environment + cold food. The employee taking our order seemed a little confused by some requests/questions, although he was nice enough. Hopefully these are just opening pains and they'll improve in the coming weeks!

Fast and fresh service. The pasta definitely tasted freshly homemade and the sauces were good as well! We tried the Alfredo and meat sauce. We will definitely be back to try other pastas and sauce.

Food took long, but did not taste fresh. The pasta tasted like it was microwaved. My 9 year old friend's daughter who loves a basic Alfredo pasta took one bite and said it tasted funny. I felt bad because she came hungry but did not want to eat this. I noticed there was a weird smell to it too which I don't know where it was coming from so I kind of understood why the child did not want to eat it.

Delicious food overpriced not a good value and small portions for an expensive price. A waste of money

La Pasta is located at the food court inside Los Cerritos Center aka Cerritos Mall. The ordering process seemed simple and easy, with a 3 step process to build your pasta: sauce, pasta, and protein. I added the cheese wheel toss for an extra $5 for my butter noodle, tagliatelle, and chicken which also had Parmesan cheese and parsley on top. The butter noodles were a bit dry (half star off ) and therefore the creaminess was certainly not there, however with the cheese wheel toss, you would think it would have been a little bit creamier (half star off). The staff didn't seem too helpful on what to order as far as what would be recommended for a first time customer (half star off). I also ordered a strawberry cream soda drink which all in all, the food along with the drink was very filling, so much so that I didn't finish my meal. I think if they had the pasta wheel more visible so we could see the actual cheese wheel toss, it would create better marketing and entice the customers. The cost was also high, not reasonable being that we were eating at a food court inside of a mall (half star off). Otherwise, it wasn't bad, it was just ok. La Pasta would be my 2nd choice if the line at Sbarro is too long. Mangia mangia!

First time here, really impress me. As a pasta lover, this place really gives me the authentic pasta taste that brings my back to Italy

Great spot in the food court! The pasta was fresh, flavorful, and made to order. Portions were generous, and the staff was friendly and efficient even during the lunch rush. Perfect if you're looking for a quick, satisfying Italian meal. Definitely one of the best food court options around. I'll be back!

Amazing Food and great service . Love this place. The owner is very polite. Great experience

    Great food!!!!

Food was incredible! Just as good as any sit down Italian restaurant, will be returning! Entire staff was super friendly, and in my opinion is the best food in the entire mall!

They also check in to make sure you're having a good time and enjoying your delicious meal. Now for the food: fresh, al dente and tasty. All adjectives you want running through your mind after the first bitesss. We ordered stuffed mushroom- hot and nicely seasoned. Mushrooms not overcooked and stuffing not overly cheesy. The shrimp linguine another hit with fresh tomatoes and jumbo shrimp with a nice snap. The light seasoning with lots of garlic was just perfect. We also ordered the beef short ribs. My friend said it melted on her mouth and the fresh mash potatoes- just right. Did I mention the portions were huge! Lots of goodies to take with us. To add to the dining experience we watched as patrons steadily came and went throughout the evening. You can tell this is a favorite for many. There were High-5s, handshakes and lots of "Welcome back friends!" Just an overall beautifully decked out neighborhood restaurant with so much heart and soul. I heard that the restaurant has been handed down from their grandparents... I'm sure they would be very proud. Highly recommend.

Located in the same space at Bakers and Baristas, the restaurant was flipped into Luka in the evening hours. Dimly lit for a romantic vibe, the ambiance was warm yet approachable. What initially drew me to Luka was seeing photos of their Chicken Liver Mousse! The mousse itself is rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious! It comes on a croissant with a seasonal fruit compote (ours was blueberry). It's also so gorgeous! A dish that truly tasted as good as it looks. The next dish we had was the Grilled Oyster Mushrooms. These completely blew us away! Something about the use of agrodolce, garlic, fennel pollen, chili powder, and red harissa made the flavor so savory and complex. I've never had mushrooms prepared in this way before. I will really miss these! We also had the Brussel Sprouts with pork jus glaze, chicharron, scallion, and fresno. I really enjoyed the different textures from the ingredients, including the crunch from the chicharrons. We had to get one of their signature dishes, the Potato Situation! Crispy on the outside with potato and melted provolone on the inside, they give a very generous portion of parmigiano reggiano and chive dust on top. Such a fun dish to cut into! For our last dish, we got the Crab Pasta. It came with fusilli, a rich cream sauce, capers, and calabrian toasted panko--a great ending to the meal! I really enjoyed my meal here and hope that there will be plans to open up Luka again one day!

Portion sizes for both were bigger than expected, which was a pleasant surprise. If you're not that hungry, the appetizers here are sort of filling. As for the crab pasta: I liked it, but it's filled in with mainly shredded crab. I ended up taking it home and adding some frozen lobster tail, and that made it feel a tad more complete.
