Second time at Il Fiora in Buena Park, and we came back for one reason--the carbonara. It's surprisingly hard to find a spot that serves it with the egg yolk on top, so having a place nearby that does it right keeps us coming back. Still just as good as we remembered. We also shared a margherita pizza, which was delicious, and ended up with plenty of leftovers (always a win). Paired everything with a nice Pinot Noir, and it made for a great meal overall. We did come pretty close to closing time, so service wasn't quite as strong as the first visit--but it also wasn't very busy, so it seemed like they were just wrapping up for the night. Nothing that would stop us from coming back though. The food definitely holds up, and we'll be back again.

Gorgonzola pizza with honey

Came here for a girls' night and it ended up being such a sweet, cozy experience. We were seated by a window which gave the whole evening a whimsical, slightly romantic vibe -- perfect for catching up with friends. We ordered the Gorgonzola pizza, Pomodoro pasta, and garlic mushroom risotto to share. The pizza was beautifully balanced with the richness of the cheese and a light drizzle of warm honey that tied everything together. The Pomodoro pasta was generously mixed with seafood and the noodles were perfectly al dente. The garlic risotto was creamy and comforting, loaded with mushrooms and plenty of garlic flavor. Service was warm and attentive without hovering -- they checked in just enough while still letting us enjoy our conversation. Great food, thoughtful service, and a cozy ambiance made it a really lovely night. Definitely a spot I'd come back to for another dinner with friends.

Complimentary bread--love!

I'm a big pan of a pizza dough that has a nice, chewy texture. And I love pink sauces for my pastas. This place does them both for me! Il Fiora is on the top floor at the Source Mall. They have a beautiful outside seating and pretty indoor seating. I usually see people reserving the outside area for a special event (bridal shower, graduation party, etc.). My all-time favorite items to get here are the Gamberetto Rosa/Shrimp Pasta, Carbonara, and Funghi Pizza. When you order an entree, you get their complimentary fluffy, airy bread which is the same dough used for their pizzas. I've also tried the Il Fiora Cioppino, Gorgonzola Pizza (which comes with honey), Spicy & Honey Pizza (has pepperoni, jalapeño, and honey) and the Bistecca Di Controfiolletto (USDA Prime Rib-eye). Service here is great! You order through their tablet, or if assistance is needed, a server helps take the order. When you're craving a rose (pink sauce) pasta in the OC area, and want to walk around and sightsee/shop, this place is the spot!

Restaurant is located on the 4th floor. Parking garage is free but was busy at 6:30pm on a Friday night No wait for 4 people Server was super sweet but she wasn't super attentive but she also had many tables to serve so I felt bad for her and wasn't her fault. We had to wave her doe multiple times for refills of our drinks, she forgot our Parmesan cheese too Food came out relatively fast Food was 4/5 stars. Pizzas were medium sized. Nothing special. Crusts were thin. Pastas were flavorful. They didn't have ravioli bolognese or the other red sauce available. Ambiance inside and outside was really nice and new and modern and clean I probably wouldn't come back here

Carbonara 10/10 *add the shrimp*

WOW. I AM SPEECHLESS. THE FOOD IS INCREDIBLE! Although I'm not from around here, some of my colleagues are locals and were looking to have a little work gathering with pasta. Food: 5/5 I just want to say I am NOT a pasta girl, so keep that in mind. I tried the carbonara with shrimp, and oh my goodness. It was truly fantastic! The sauce was rich, the noodles were cooked to perfection, and that homemade bread! Oh my goodness! It was a 10. Service: 5/5 The staff is incredibly friendly, the ambiance is lovely, and I definitely intend to return. All around: I give this place a solid 10. The only con would be finding the place, LOL. It's on the third floor and it can be a bit confusing. However-After the small workout, the pasta ends up being guilt free!!!!

Overall, the food here curbs your appetite if you're craving Italian food. The interior is bright and modern, but it's ironic how the food is served on plastic plates for a "nicer" restaurant. After getting seated, the hostess forgot to provide the menus, so we had to grab the menu ourselves. The menu offers standard dishes from pastas to ravioli. The crust from our margherita pizza was a bit dry but overall still decent tasting. The pasta was slightly overcooked but the mushrooms were tasty. If you're looking for a dining experience with a beautiful interior, this is a decent place to visit. Food quality and service could improve though.

This place has always been on my list of places I want to try. My boyfriend and I decided to celebrate Valentine's Day early last weekend and he picked this place to take me and I couldn't have been more satisfied. Upon arrival, we were adding our names to the waitlist on their tablet and right as we finished entering in our info, a staff approached us and was able to seat us right away. It was definitely busy for a Saturday night so they asked if we were okay sitting outside on their patio. I didn't mind and thank goodness they had their heaters out because I always get cold lol. Once we were seated it didn't take too long for a server to approach us. They brought us water and let us know bread would be out soon. Who doesn't love complimentary bread?! Of course we had to order their fried calamari as our starter. All their pastas sounded delicious but we went with their Shrimp rose pasta and their il flora cioppino. Fried calamari: I've been to places where their fried calamari is mostly batter. The fried calamari was good and you can definitely taste the squid and it had the perfect crunch. I wish it was a bigger portion. Il Fiora Cioppino: Spaghetti, Mussels, Shrimp, Clams, Scallops, Calamari in a Spicy Tomato Sauce. THIS WAS SOOOOOO GOOD. First time having a pasta dish like this. The sauce was delicious. I was very tempted to ask if I could take the rest of the sauce home so I could make more pasta with it haha. Shrimp rose pasta: Also delicious and creamy. I feel like you can't go wrong with ordering this dish. Staff: sad I don't get our servers name but he was nice and friendly and checked up on us multiple times to make sure we were doing okay. Whoever was our server around 7:30-8:30pm, thank you!! It's definitely a nice, cute place to go on a little date on. Will definitely be coming back for their pastas!

Been seeing this place for a while and finally tried it. We got the funghi pizza, shrimp rose pasta, and truffle gnocchi. Both pastas were delicious, the sauces were rich, creamy, buttery, and full of flavor. If you like mushrooms, I definitely recommend the truffle gnocchi. The pizza was also good, a solid, classic choice. Our waiter was amazing, we ordered a dessert slightly after last call for a birthday and he hustled to make it happen, and then joined our little gossip session for a bit. Definitely a fun night with great food. I would love to come again on a nice day to sit on the porch and enjoy!

Actually 2 pieces made from pizza dough | complementary bread w/ oil and vinegar

Interesting spot for an Italian restaurant. Located on the top (4th) floor of The Source, it stands out among the many Korean restaurants nearby. Our group of 4 came for lunch around 1:30pm on a Friday, and the place was nearly empty. The space feels modern and upscale, and service was attentive. Our waiter checked in often and refilled waters, and the food came out quickly. We ordered family style: calamari, di mare pomodoro, garlic pancetta risotto, and the fungi pizza. Prices were high, with most dishes over $20. After reading other reviews before coming in, I found that the food did not have the Korean flavors or influence some had suggested. - Bread (complementary): Made from pizza dough, which was a unique. It came out warm, fluffy, and slightly chewy, and we appreciated the free refills with oil and vinegar. - Calamari: The thick-cut rings were tender rather than chewy, with a light, crisp breading. It was well fried but fairly plain in flavor and didn't come with tentacles, just rings. - Di mare pomodoro: It's a spaghetti with mussels, shrimp, scallops, and calamari in a tomato sauce. The sauce was acidic and tangy, which complemented the seafood, but it tasted fairly basic. The seafood itself was cooked well, though portions were small. There were only three shrimps in the entire plate. - Garlic Panceta risotto: The fan favorite of the table! It was rich and creamy with a deep, savory flavor. But everything was finely blended, giving it a uniform texture that I didn't care for. It also felt heavy after a few bites. - Funghi pizza: The crust was as fluffy and chewy as the bread. Tasted very earthy and mushroom-forward. Some of the mushrooms were burnt too. While the menu listed that it had truffle oil, the flavor didn't come through. Overall, it lacked balance and depth. Overall, the food didn't quite match the upscale setting or price point. It was decent, but not memorable. If you are already at The Source and want a convenient Italian option, it works, but there are better and more reasonably priced spots elsewhere.

Insalata di funghi
Maya N.

We were seated pretty quickly and ordered right away since they gave our table a tablet to order with. The space was clean and bright. The wait staff were all friendly and nice, with frequent service. Their food is best described as Italian food with Korean influence. The insalata di funghi was good, but we had a random shrimp tail in our dish. We are not allergic, thank goodness. The staff made sure we were okay and apologized, offering us on the house. They asked if we would like a new salad but we were fine eating the same dish. The truffle gnocchi is a new dish and it was delicious. Light crisp outside and gooey gnocchi insides. A bit pricey but probably the best gnocchi I've had. Overall a happy lunch experience. I'd go back!

their margarita pizza is BOMB. SO GOOD. Their pasta is good, it's decent. the service is a little slow (maybe they were short staffed, maybe we just sit in a corner so it's harder for us to get someone's attention). their cocktails are pretty good as well. the atmosphere is quite casually romantic. it's not something you have to dress up for, but it's nice enough to bring someone here for a date or just a nice friend date

I came here about 2 weeks ago during the storm while it was pouring out. We were beginning to get hungry but the food ended up getting served fairly quickly. We ordered a salad, the rose pasta, funghi pizza, risotto, and some ravioli. While I was eating it, I thought it was decent. I enjoyed the vibe while sitting by the window watching the rain fall. Mushroom pizza ended up being good, but the rest of the stuff was alright. It's one of those places I probably won't try again. On the plus side, the staff was really nice and the food comes out quick!

Located on the top floor of The Source plaza, with free parking in the structure. Pretty ambience and great attentive service. It's a great clean Italian /Korean fusion spot with yummy pasta and pizza. First thing they give is the compliment fresh pita(?) bread for the table, with vinegar and oil. It's good! It's also similar or same as the crusts of their pizzas. Shrimp Rose pasta and Fungi mushroom truffle mozarella pizza were both delicious- order them!

Yelp reviews brought us in but the food, the vibe, and Lisa and her family will bring us back when we're back in town. And the music was perfect which makes the vibe too cool. We started with fried artichokes that were perfect, not too much breading and the artichokes were trimmed so you didn't get those tough leaf pieces (pet peeve!) but I would've liked a better sauce than ranch dressing like a lemon aioli or even a creamy light pesto-but I digress and they were fabulous! I had the fresh-made pappardelle bolognese special which was awesome and my son had his favorite pepperoni pizza. TIP: always look at the specials first but I got the feeling looking around that everything is good. I truly struggled with the menu for 10, ok 20 minutes because I wanted EVERYTHING! Seated right next to the kitchen was awesome as I saw all the food come out and was wrapped in fab food aromas making my choice harder. The cheesecake my son ordered was exceptional and our server gave him the works: caramel, chocolate and strawberry sauces and my boosy affogato was great and even though the were out of the biscotti, Lisa's son brought me a pirouette which was very sweet. We ordered the truffle garlic bread, spicy rigatoni vodka, squid ink tonnarreli and a pizza with half The Pig and half hot honey prosciutto. Spicy Rigatoni Vodka - 4/5 The dish was delicious, and you could definitely tell the pasta was handmade. It wasn't spicy at all to me, but I also have a pretty high spice tolerance. I do wish it had more meat, and the portion size felt a little small. I was shocked to find out it was nearly 2,000 calories for the amount served. Squid Ink Tonnarreli - 5/5 This was probably my favorite dish of the night. It was rich, savory, and really flavorful. I'd never had squid ink pasta before, although I've had Filipino squid cooked in squid ink many times. The dish came with squid, shrimp, and a spicy tomato-based sauce. We asked for it mild, but I honestly think it would've been even better spicy. The portion size was good too. Pizza - 3/5 Since they make handmade pasta, I assumed the pizza dough would be amazing, but it was just average. Parts of the crust were a little burnt. The Pig (their all-meat pizza) was okay but slightly too salty for me. The hot honey prosciutto side was better, although they were pretty light on the toppings. I probably wouldn't order pizza here again. Truffle Garlic Bread - 4/5 Really good, but overpriced at $18.50 for 9 small square pieces. The bread was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and very buttery. Customer Service - 5/5 Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and explained the menu really well. I appreciated that she mentioned the spice levels could be adjusted on certain dishes. She also refilled my iced tea without me having to ask and even brought me a to-go cup for it. Overall, we had a good experience. The food was solid, and the service was great. However, the portions felt a bit small for the price, especially compared to similar restaurants, and I was surprised they didn't offer complimentary bread. I'm glad I tried it, but I'm not sure if I'd go back regularly.
