La Tavolata in Artesia is probably my favorite place for spaghetti and meatballs. What makes it outstanding is that their noodles are clearly house made. The spaghetti has an outstanding chew to it. Their meatballs are made of veal, which gives a nice savoriness. Calamari tastes freshly breaded with chewy rings and crispy legs. My wife loves their pappardelle vodka, which has a craveable sauce over their freshly prepped noods. Overall, I think that La Tavolata is probably the best pasta place that people just don't know about.

Went back to La Tavolata on a date for the first time in a while. I'm biased, Italian food is my favorite so I love this place. Reasonably priced pasta dishes. Ordered some appetizers and a bottle of Chianti. The servers were kind, pleasant, and professional. We had reservations but didn't seem like there was a wait and it was mostly packed. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Very pleasant and nicely lit vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you're looking for a pasta evening, I highly recommend trying this place out at least once.

I found my new favorite local Italian spot! We made a reservation for a Friday evening and were seated upon arrival. After ordering, they brought us some of their garlic bread with bruschetta on top. They also give you a little dish of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. The bread was yummy, and I love that you can ask for more! I was eyeing the Spaghetti alla Cammorista that has spicy tomato sauce and chile-garlic shrimp. I wasn't sure how spicy it would be, so our server said they could adjust the spice level to make it less spicy. She also said she would bring some chili flakes on the side in case I wanted to add more spice. It wasn't spicy at all, so I don't think ordering it as is would be too spicy! I appreciated how much shrimp they gave in this dish! The sauce was tasty, and you could tell that the pasta was freshly made. They also bring your parmesan cheese to add in if you'd like. Another dish that seems to come up over and over again on reviews is their Fettuccini Compleanno. It has spicy pink sauce shredded chicken, Andouille sausage, tasso ham, and shrimp. I can definitely see why this one is popular--its so good! The pink sauce is the perfect blend of acidity and creaminess. I enjoyed the variety of ingredients as well. Will definitely be ordering this one again! The servers are friendly and attentive, and we were checked on frequently throughout the meal. Looking forward to coming back again!

La Tavolata has been my go-to for handmade pasta since they opened in Cerritos years ago, so this visit was a bit surprising. I ordered my usual Pappardelle Vodka, but the noodles were overcooked, and the sauce was very milky/lacking flavor. It's normally perfectly balanced, so this was unexpected. We also tried the Scaloppine de Pollo al Limone (similar to a chicken piccata dish). The chicken was juicy, and the sauce had amazing flavor, but the pasta tasted more like ramen noodles than spaghetti, which threw us off. Still giving this 4 stars since this is the first time this happened, and I'm thinking it was just an off day.

The restaurant is small with a cozy, intimate, and homey vibe. They are known for their authentic, fresh hand made pasta. Staff were nice and friendly but slow. Our server seemed distracted and/or overwhelmed. We started with garlic bread with bruschetta and a side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Good but a bit hard. We ordered: 1) Penne alla Salsiccia: penne pasta with pink sauce, chicken and sausage. 6/10. Chicken was a bit dry. Less meat but a lot of pasta. Taste alright. (I could have sworn my friend ordered the Pappardelle Vodka) hmm 2) Spaghetti alla Carbonara: 5/10 the noodles were overcooked instead of el dente. It was soggy and too creamy that it made my experience disappointing. 3) Chicken dish Scaloppine di Pollo al Limone: 5/10. The chicken was very dry. Taste was not appetizing. Experience was disappointing. 4) Spaghetti ai Frutti Di Mare: 7/10. Combination of clams, mussels, and Shrimps. Our experience was very mediocre. A bit disappointing. I was looking forward for some Italian delicacies. Im not sure if i want to come back. They're not that cheap either

This place is absolutely perfect! We ordered three different types of pasta and they were all so delicious! Our waitress was so friendly it really made the experience that much better. Spaghetti alla Bolognese

Excellent restaurant. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Amazing food, great service, comfortable unpretentious atmosphere[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. The entrees we chose were all made with fresh-made pasta, which was excellent. Generous portions - we all took home leftovers. The price was definitely right - all the entrees were about $23. Everyone at the table agreed this was a great choice of restaurants and would return in a heartbeat. Spaghetti alla Bolognese 5/5. - delicious, old-school Italian red sauce. Tons of meat. I don't normally like spaghetti - too thick for my taste. But I recognized this spaghetti was the square shape from a pasta machine and it was the perfect vehicle for the sauce. Fettuccini alla Romana, added shrimp - 5/5. Again, delish. Shrimp plump and perfectly cooked in a yummy cream sauce The third thing we had was a special. 4/5. Mm I'm not sure of the name. It was pappardelle with grilled lamb, arugula and mushrooms in a creamy lemon sauce. The grilled lamb was cooked to a juicy medium rare, with 4 good-sized chunks. My friend really liked it and would order it again, as it was an interesting mix of different flavors. My only complaint was that I think marsala was added, which made it too sweet for me. It was much better when I added a lot of lemon. I'd definitely return and try something new.

Ordered the house red wine, calamari, fettuccine compleanno, tortellini, spaghetti all'amatriciana, and tiramisu. The house red wine tasted great and was a good deal, and al the pastas were awesome. The calamari was pretty good and the tiramisu was ok. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, great experience with cozy atmosphere and great service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking in the lot was pretty easy on a Thursday night. Truly a gem in the neighborhood!

Ask for the offer menu item called Sheila's pasta it combines all three sauces and it taste amazing.

Overall, every plate was cooked with love and well-balanced ingredients. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe of the La Tavolata crew this evening was vibrant and joyful to be around.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I highly recommend going early, on a Thursday evening to avoid a long wait time. But it is also worth the wait, in my opinion. Tiramisu: A soft and moist sponge-like bite with silky layers of thick sweet mascarpone cream. The slow-dripping thick chocolate and drizzle of raspberry sauces pairs well together. ((Make sure you save room for dessert!!!)) Burrata Toast: A crunchy hearty bite of toast topped with creamy layer of burrata cheese. The splash of balsamic along with the cherry tomato and basil is a party in your mouth. Pesce di Giorno: The salmon was thoughtfully pan seared with a naturally crunchy layer of skin and moist texture. The plate includes smooth and crunchy bursts of green beans. The saffron risotto was perfectly cooked--soft, thick, and lemony. All topped with a drizzle of lemony and creamy aioli--a party on the pallets. Overall, the La Tavolata crew's energy makes it a welcoming and heart-warming experience.

This is my new favorite local Italian restaurant. The interior is very homey and simple. My party of 6 easily made reservations a week in advance for a weekend dinner, but I think the wait time can be up to 45 minutes. Fairly small on the inside, so if you have a larger party than 4 I'd recommend making a reservation. They bring complimentary bread to your table while you wait for your food. We ordered the calamari, caesar salad, and caprese salad. Everything was good, but the caesar was a bit too salty. I ordered the Penne alla Salsiccia, which is penne pasta with pink sauce, chicken, and Italian sausage. It's my favorite dish from here. Others in my party ordered the Frutti Di Mare spaghetti, lasagna, fettucine alfredo, and more. Everything was good. Service was nice too. They consistently checked on us, refilled waters, and cleared plates. Highly recommend this pasta for great pasta, a nice ambiance, and friendly service.

The food was incredible. Service was amazing & [[HIGHLIGHT]]the setting of the restaurant was just right.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I absolutely loved this place. The spaghetti carbonara is out of this world!

Really good! The pasta tastes authentic and is surprisingly really tasty! I would pass on the seasonal(?) menu that they have, like the risotto, and stick with the classic stuff. The papardelle vodka was soooooo tasty. My frutti di mare was honestly pretty mid which I was disappointed by. The sauce tasted like ramen..

Ask the Community - La Tavolata

    How to make a reservation?

    Call the restaurant directly

    Is outdoor seating available?

No, they don't have outdoor seating.

Is there any non-dairy/lactose free options?

    Can i make reservations online?

No, to make a reservation, you can call them at (562) 924-8001. They don't take reservations online or through Instagram direct messages. Same day reservations are not accepted after 5PM and for parties of 4 or more they suggest making a reservation…

    Is there any vegan options?

No. I am pretty that the homemade pasta has egg or some type of dairy product that isn't vegan friendly. They can possibly make you a veggie dish but that would ruin the Italian experience of wanting pasta.

    Which pastas are homemade fresh?

All of them, I recommend the lasagna

    Do they have lunch specials?

    Yes they do

What is the wine corkage fee?

Wine Corkage Fee at La Tavolata is $10

Can we bring our own wine, and what is the corkage fee?

Last time I checked, wine Corkage Fee at La Tavolata is $10

    Do they take reservations?

Yes, they do and I don't think the group size matters. I have booked reservations for just 2 people before.

Do they do any celebration for birthdays?

Nope! They make you pay for your birthday dessert.

Do they allow you to bring your own bottle? Do they have a corkage fee?

Yes you are allowed to bring in your own bottle. The corkage fee is minimal, I believe maybe $15 at most. We have brought in a bottle a couple of times with no problems :)

We are not new to North Italia as we frequent the Irvine location often, but this was our first time at the Cerritos location and what a treat it was! Located conveniently at the mall for some after shopping bites and plenty of parking around. We went online to make same-day reservations and were able to snag a time slot at 8:15pm. Upon arrival I noticed how friendly and smiley the host was. It's a pet peeve of mine when hostess act pretentious or gives off a haughty attitude but not here. Once seated, I believe our server was name Ariana. Super sweet gal with great service. We shared a glass of chianti classico- one of my faves! For appetizers, we had the yellowtail crudo and the white truffle garlic bread. The white truffle garlic bread is our tried & true, can never go wrong ordering that. The crudo was good, I love the different textures, but I did wish it had a bit more citrus flavor to balance out the oil. Our entrees were the bolognese with added meatballs and the chicken Parmesan. The bolognese is another tried and true where you cannot go wrong getting. Hubby wanted to try something new this time so he got the chicken Parmesan which surely did not disappoint. The chicken was cook to perfect. But be warned - it's a heavy dish! He could only finish half and had to take the rest home. Lastly, we finished with their seasonal butter cake which was delightful and well paired with the ice cream. All in all, it was a wonderful experience at this location. They were popping and busy for a Saturday night but never felt cramped or crowded. Vibes were immaculate. I noticed the servers being helpful, welcoming, and attentive. Located in the same space at Bakers and Baristas, the restaurant was flipped into Luka in the evening hours. Dimly lit for a romantic vibe, the ambiance was warm yet approachable. What initially drew me to Luka was seeing photos of their Chicken Liver Mousse! The mousse itself is rich, creamy, and absolutely delicious! It comes on a croissant with a seasonal fruit compote (ours was blueberry). It's also so gorgeous! A dish that truly tasted as good as it looks. The next dish we had was the Grilled Oyster Mushrooms. These completely blew us away! Something about the use of agrodolce, garlic, fennel pollen, chili powder, and red harissa made the flavor so savory and complex. I've never had mushrooms prepared in this way before. I will really miss these! We also had the Brussel Sprouts with pork jus glaze, chicharron, scallion, and fresno. I really enjoyed the different textures from the ingredients, including the crunch from the chicharrons. We had to get one of their signature dishes, the Potato Situation! Crispy on the outside with potato and melted provolone on the inside, they give a very generous portion of parmigiano reggiano and chive dust on top. Such a fun dish to cut into! For our last dish, we got the Crab Pasta. It came with fusilli, a rich cream sauce, capers, and calabrian toasted panko--a great ending to the meal!
