    Cookie butter latte

Went to this cafe a couple days ago ; it's so chill. A nice whole in the wall. The selection of drinks was pretty big & reasonably priced. And I got my drink fairly quick. I got a cookie butter latte which tasted amazing . When I'm in Cerritos this will definitely be my go to spot.

Delicious Ube bread pudding & Ube cheesecake!! I had Cafe 86 a long time ago in Pasadena. I have only tried their drinks tho. During the visit here, I was able to try their goodies and drink. The $3 drinks options were awesome. We ordered the jasmine calamansi. It was so good and refreshing. Would totally get it again. My friend got the Ube cheesecake. I tried a bit. It was soooo good. I wanted more but too shy to get more hahha The Ube bread pudding warmed up was super delicious. I was told that it was one of the best. I agree! It included Ube ice cream. Could get it on the side or on top of the bread. Not a big fan of the Ube ice cream. Will definitely try other items. Was a bit sad that the flan Ube and turon pop tart was sold out. Gonna try to get it next time =]

Tried their Mini Classic Halo! It was good & I loved the ube ice cream. Definitely giving them props for the unique, creative concept! Enjoyed it, but probably not something I'd come back for over and over again.

    Halo-Halo

Founded by Ginger and James Dimapasok, Cafe 86 began with a simple mission: to share the vibrant flavors of the Philippines with the world. Drawing inspiration from ube, the signature purple yam featured in many traditional Filipino desserts, the couple transformed a cultural favorite into a modern culinary experience. Through creative desserts and innovative recipes, Cafe 86 has helped introduce Filipino flavors to a broader audience while staying true to its roots and heritage. My wife had heard many good things about this place. She's Filipina so we had to check it out for research purposes lol. And of course, we had to order their Filipino's iconic dessert, Halo-Halo. (Ask for the upside down version!) Their rendition is very similar to the traditional one, since it has ube ice cream, jellies, jackfruit and flan. Their spin on halo-halo is that they serve it as milkshake beverage with toppings instead of having shaved ice drenched in condensed/evaporated milk. It also missing a few of the essentials ingredients ( beans, sweet plantains, and coconut sport). But overall, not bad at all. Very refreshing on a hot day! It's good on its own way, but just make sure you mix-mix it up to enjoy the full flavors of the dessert.

This place is pretty cool! It's on the smaller side, but it has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk in.It was my first time trying ube, so I wanted to play it safe and order something more subtle. I got the Monster Thai Tea, which I'd rate about a 6/10. The ube flavor wasn't very strong, and the milk and Oreo flavors overpowered the drink. Unfortunately, the boba didn't taste very fresh either. I also tried the ube truffle coated with oreo pieces, and that was actually really pretty good! I'd give it an 7.5/10. My daughter thought differently though she absolutely loved it and gave it a 9/10. Fun fact if you check in on the yelp, they give you a free hibiscus tea pretty big size for it to be free but honestly, I have no flavor. I still enjoyed it since I like plain tea but no flavor. The real star of the visit was the ube cheesecake. Let me tell you, that cheesecake was SO delicious! It was creamy, flavorful, and honestly one of the best things I tried there. It was around $6, and while it was pretty small for the price, the taste definitely made up for it. I'd come back just for the cheesecake alone. The employees were also incredibly sweet and helpful. Since I had never tried ube before, they took the time to explain what it was and gave me recommendations. I appreciated that they helped me choose pastries and made me feel comfortable trying something new. I enjoyed my visit and would definitely come back to try more items from their menu. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was cozy, and while not everything was a hit for me, there were some standout items that made the experience worth it.

I had this place bookmarked for so long, not sure why I never made it in until today! After dinner, my friend and I were looking for dessert options nearby and he mentioned Cafe 86 had a delicious "cupcake thing". Then I remembered I've been wanting to try this place, so we decided to grab our post meal sweets here. We ordered 2 flan cupcakes, 1 crack cheesecake and 1 regular upside down halo halo. Everything was so good. I devoured the halo halo and the cupcake. I will need to eat the cheesecake tomorrow, but based on how good the other two were, I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy the cheesecake just as much. Now that I know what I've been missing out on, I'll be coming in as much as I can here on out lol.

We love halo-halo and decided to try a new place. Well... Café 86 definitely didn't disappoint! It was so good! The service was fast and friendly, and the café has a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. There are plenty of tables, and you can even relax on one of their comfortable sofas. Judging by how busy it was on a Friday evening, we're clearly not the only ones who love this place! We'll definitely be back.

I've visited this place before, and I'm always impressed by their consistency! My go-to order is the ube muffin topped with flan, paired with a large original Halo Halo on the side. We arrived around 12:50 PM, and luckily, they had just opened at 12:30 PM. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by an employee, and it was nice to have the place to ourselves for a couple of minutes until more customers arrived. Their menu is packed with a delightful variety of drinks, desserts, and sweet treats to choose from! I'll definitely be back soon to try their crinkle cookies and explore even more of their offerings. Definitely check them out! Keep in mind there's only about 2 tables and 2 couches (:

This was my second time being here and it didn't disappoint. It was pretty busy on a weekday evening. Perfect for a dessert after dinner or hang out. The café vibe is very casual and good for catching up with family/friends. The Ube desserts were very yummy. We tried the Ube butter bar, Ube truffle, and Ube cracked cheesecake. Last time I had Ube poptart. The Ube flavor is Rich. The desserts are not too sweet. Definitely good sweetness for Asian parents. Also, the purple color and aesthetic is very nice. Would come again when I'm in the area.

My favorite place to visit whenever I am closed the City of Cerritos. Cafe 86 sell the most delicious Ube drinks, snacks pasties. One of my favorite is the their Ube Upside Down, Halo Halo. Service is superb and friendly. Sitting area was perfectly setup for short stop snacking... very casual inviting setting. Perfect for everyone to sit, relax and enjoy ube halo halo

This is by far one of my favorite spots to get Filipino inspired desserts with a twist. The location is small with limited seating, but the service is quick and the staff is friendly.

Back again... Cookie Monster and Halo Halo are our fam favorites. Ambiance is enjoyable as we get to sit and enjoy our treats. Service interaction is always pleasant.

    Ube scoop. 6/1/25

First time visiting Cafe 86 with family for dessert! It's a tiny Cafe serving Filipino flavored desserts, coffee, teas, smoothies, and sandwiches. On a Sunday afternoon post lunch, there were just a few customers present. Our party of 5 was fortunate to get seats together. The turon pop tart caught my attention but I decided on something familiar which was a scoop of ube ice cream. Smooth, creamy and delicious! Fam members that got the same thing agreed. My cousin did get the turon pop tart but thought it's just okay. The gal at the counter that took our order was pleasant. There are brick walls and some Star Wars decor. The disability parking spaces were not close by in the plaza and already occupied. We managed okay parking in a regular spot that was next to a delivery/pickup spot that was clear. As far as regular parking spots, there were many on a Sunday afternoon. The plaza has a Market, a bakery, a restaurant, and shops nearby. I found out there is actually another Cafe 86 closer to me. This is a Cafe that I would introduce out of town family members to. 4 stars!

Best time to visit with compact parking in this plaza?

Weekday mornings and early afternoons are definitely the best times for easier parking! Evenings and weekends get pretty busy. Hope to see you soon!

Do they make whole cakes or pies?

I know they have rewards program, does anyone know how you can check what you've earned and what you can get?

You have to go in person and they'll tell you. They're not giving any new points now, but they will honor any old points you accrued. Idk tho, cuz I could've sworn I had 3 free drinks but they only gave me one.…

    Do they deliver during quarantine?

    Any gluten free desserts?

As of now the closest to gluten free may be the ube cheesecake but don't eat the crust lol. I'd ask them if the feeling has any wheat in it.

Can I get more than one topping for my drink?

Yes. But there might be an additional charge

    Ube bundtcake or cheesecake?

    Cheesecake all the way.

Can we bring our own reusable cup?

I don't think they would allow it.

What days do they have Turon pop tarts?

    bananan and caramelised brown sugar

How much for a ube truffle and ube butter bar?

    Price range around $3-$5

Are any of the desserts vegan?

They have a Vegan Ube Bundt Cake.

What's the WiFi password ? I'm too scared to ask them

    cafe86_artesia

Do they take catering orders for parties?

    Yes

Does this place have substitution options for vegan or dairy-free?

    Coconut milk and soy

What do they have one each day of the week?

    Monday: - Ube Crack Cheesecake…

What day they have green matcha brownies and ube Madeleines?

Matcha brownies & Ube mads are only Saturdays. (:

Parking: They're located in a high foot traffic plaza, so finding a parking spot can be difficult. Ambiance/Environment: They have a small space with a decent amount of indoor seating. The tables and seats were kept clean. There's cute decor from the ceiling as well. This is the type of spot where you'd bring your family with younger kids for something sweet, while the adults sit and talk. When we visited, my family and one other family pretty much took up all the tables lol. Service: There was only one worker behind the counter serving and making the drinks and desserts. She doesn't acknowledge anyone. It wasn't too busy, but throughput took a while since she was by herself. There's two kiosk to order from. You don't really interact with the worker until she brings out your order. Desserts & drinks: We ordered a mixture of almost everything. We noticed there were a few menu items that were out of stock. I ordered a mango pamelo sago, my sister ordered a brown sugar boba milk tea, my cousin ordered an americano, and my other cousin ordered a strawberry & cream eggette. I thought the mango pamelo sago was okay; the mango flavor was lacking except for the actual mangos. There was plenty of sago, but I thought this dessert was underwhelming. My sister thought the boba was okay bc it had an interesting texture, and the drink itself was lightly sweet than what she's used to. My cousin thought the coffee was okay. The only thing we all enjoyed was the eggette. It's a bubble waffle with ice cream and fresh fruits, which is pretty difficult to mess up. Pricing: Prices are pretty high for the portions offered. Overall, the desserts were underwhelming and some didn't meet our expectations. The eggettes are most likely the only thing we'll come back for.

We came in around 730pm on a Monday night and there were a few tables taken. I thought that was a good sign since it was kind of cold tonight...if people are choosing to come here on a cold night, there must be a reason why! When we walked in, there was a gal at the counter, but was on her phone. Barely looked up to greet us, which wasn't a big deal since there are kiosks for you to order, but what I thought was kind of strange was she didn't bother trying to help us when we kept saying out loud "there are no photos of this or that" literally just on her phone and not trying to explain any of their menu items. The kiosk set up is on top of the counter, so we were asking these questions right in front of her. Lol. Made me wonder what the point of her sitting there was. Might as well have been in the back to watch whatever she was watching on her phone to make things less awkward. Luckily both our desserts were fine, but I did not appreciate having someone sitting at the counter only to let you know they don't care if 1) it's your first time there, 2) are confused by some of their dessert names, and 3) photos are missing for many of their items listed in the kiosk. The tables were dirty, my bag got wet from whatever was left from the previous party. Not cool. If the service (or lack there of) was better and tables clean I may have rated this place higher. Though the desserts were decent, not I'll be back. ** Warning Auto Tip: I noticed when I got home that they added a 12% tip to my total. There was no option to get a printed receipt nor was there a step to review ANY tip. I've never experienced such a thing, especially when this is a self service/pick up cafe **

I mentioned that I'd rather order a different drink if they didn't have ripe avocados. She checked with the kitchen and came back right away to let me know they didn't have any ripe avocados. I ended up ordering the Jelly Coco instead. It was my first time trying it, and I actually enjoyed it. The coconut water was refreshing, but it didn't have many toppings. Aside from the coconut meat and basil seeds, there were only a few pieces of lychee.
