Finally!! I have heard so much and have craved Halo Halo. Pretty busy on a Friday mid afternoon. Lots of food traffic with majority of customers coming for Halo Halo or drinks. The mini Upside Down Halo Halo was the perfect size and wasn't like a mini at all lol. Had a taste of brown sugar, included boba, jellies, scoop of ice cream, the Corn Flakes, flan. The cupcakes still taste good after 2 days. Texture and taste didn't change at all. Milo Cupcake: Buttercream reminded me of Milo on point. This is one week old review. It was on our list to try since I love halo halo. This place actually deserve 3.5 stars but since overall experience is positive, it round up to 4. The place is small but cozy and they have a giant couch in the middle for lounging. The price is high compare to other places, with the exception of their daily special tea. Their tea is actually cheap. I love love the jasmine calamonsi tea, so refreshing for $3. The halo halo was overwhelmed with ice cream, need more of other ingredients. The monster oreo shake was delicious but it is not worth it for that price. The ube flan cupcake was just ube cupcake and flan stack on top. It kinds of lacking the cohesiveness. We were looking for afternoon coffee and came across this cafe. The menu looked amazing and we could not decide what we wanted to order. So we decided to go with Calamansi cooler and the Ube milk tea with oatmilk for the drink. They were delicious. We also ordered the Leche flan ube cheesecake and it was teally good. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. The decor is pretty. Pretty good space and seating. I think the price is fair as well. We will need to try other drinks and baked goods next time. Went to this cafe a couple days ago ; it's so chill. A nice whole in the wall. The selection of drinks was pretty big & reasonably priced. And I got my drink fairly quick. I got a cookie butter latte which tasted amazing . When I'm in Cerritos this will definitely be my go to spot. read more

Delicious Ube bread pudding & Ube cheesecake!! I had Cafe 86 a long time ago in Pasadena. I have only tried their drinks tho. During the visit here, I was able to try their goodies and drink. The $3 drinks options were awesome. We ordered the jasmine calamansi. It was so good and refreshing. Would totally get it again. My friend got the Ube cheesecake. I tried a bit. It was soooo good. I wanted more but too shy to get more hahha The Ube bread pudding warmed up was super delicious. I was told that it was one of the best. I agree! It included Ube ice cream. Could get it on the side or on top of the bread. Not a big fan of the Ube ice cream. Will definitely try other items. Was a bit sad that the flan Ube and turon pop tart was sold out. Their spin on halo-halo is that they serve it as milkshake beverage with toppings instead of having shaved ice drenched in condensed/evaporated milk. It's on the smaller side, but it has a cozy and welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk in.It was my first time trying ube, so I wanted to play it safe and order something more subtle. I got the Monster Thai Tea, which I'd rate about a 6/10. The ube flavor wasn't very strong, and the milk and Oreo flavors overpowered the drink. Unfortunately, the boba didn't taste very fresh either. I also tried the ube truffle coated with oreo pieces, and that was actually really pretty good! I'd give it an 7.5/10. My daughter thought differently though she absolutely loved it and gave it a 9/10. Fun fact if you check in on the yelp, they give you a free hibiscus tea pretty big size for it to be free but honestly, I have no flavor. I still enjoyed it since I like plain tea but no flavor. The real star of the visit was the ube cheesecake. Let me tell you, that cheesecake was SO delicious! It was creamy, flavorful, and honestly one of the best things I tried there. It was around $6, and while it was pretty small for the price, the taste definitely made up for it. I'd come back just for the cheesecake alone.The employees were also incredibly sweet and helpful. Since I had never tried ube before, they took the time to explain what it was and gave me recommendations. I had this place bookmarked for so long, not sure why I never made it in until today! After dinner, my friend and I were looking for dessert options nearby and he mentioned Cafe 86 had a delicious "cupcake thing". Then I remembered I've been wanting to try this place, so we decided to grab our post meal sweets here. We ordered 2 flan cupcakes, 1 crack cheesecake and 1 regular upside down halo halo. Everything was so good. I devoured the halo halo and the cupcake. I will need to eat the cheesecake tomorrow, but based on how good the other two were, I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy the cheesecake just as much. We arrived around 12:50 PM, and luckily, they had just opened at 12:30 PM. First time visiting Cafe 86 with family for dessert! It's a tiny Cafe serving Filipino flavored desserts, coffee, teas, smoothies, and sandwiches. On a Sunday afternoon post lunch, there were just a few customers present. Our party of 5 was fortunate to get seats together. The turon pop tart caught my attention but I decided on something familiar which was a scoop of ube ice cream. Smooth, creamy and delicious! Fam members that got the same thing agreed. My cousin did get the turon pop tart but thought it's just okay. The gal at the counter that took our order was pleasant. There are brick walls and some Star Wars decor. The disability parking spaces were not close by in the plaza and already occupied. We managed okay parking in a regular spot that was next to a delivery/pickup spot that was clear. As far as regular parking spots, there were many on a Sunday afternoon. The plaza has a Market, a bakery, a restaurant, and shops nearby. I found out there is actually another Cafe 86 closer to me. I have posted reviews for the other locations in Chino and Tustin, I really love this place. Cafe 86 specializes in Ube, and they do it exceptionally well. The vibrant purple color is just as appealing as the taste. If you're looking for unique and delicious Filipino-inspired treats, especially those featuring ube, this is definitely the spot to check out. My faves are the Ube Butter Bar, Ube Truffle and Ube Leche Flan Cupcake. I've also tried and recommend the Ube Latte for those who prefer no caffeine. I've been coming to this location for years. Parking is always tight as they share it with multiple businesses but I just love coming to support Cafe 86 and the Luisa and Son's bakery next door. Everyone is usually really friendly here but the drinks are always on point and you're able to make modifications. Ube everything pastries are located here. The pastries actually taste like the ube it claims in their titles haha. Their ube leche flan cupcakes are one of their most popular- but my personal top two favorites are the ube butter bar, ube truffles and the ube cheesecake. I have yet to give their pop tarts a try. They also have a few non ube treats like Milo (chocolate) cupcake and a mais (corn) bar. Their halo halo upside down is one of my favorites on a hot summer day and if I have a sweet tooth on a particular day I will ask to top it with ube ice cream for an ube overload haha. They have two tables that are a four top- and two stool tables against the windows that hold three people. Two additional couches on the side for casual catch up or solo dates. Seating is tight here so I can't necessarily say it's a good study spot but I'd say it's an option since they do have wifi. Bathroom is a hit or miss at this location as they're usually busy and don't upkeep it. read more

We literally order the same thing each time, which is pretty much one a week-an ube crinkle (hubby's fave), ube truffle (my fave), and the ube monster shake (BOMB, we both love)! I already knew what I was getting when I got here as the halo halo is what got me all the way to Artesia. But I had never tried an upside down halo halo so I tried it out. Along with it I had tried for the first time ever a Mais con Yelp. It's a corn based dessert which was not too sweet but had a more simple flavor. I'd still take the regular halo halo any day but it was a nice and interesting first time experience. The flan in the halo halo was really good and over all had a good consistency.
