There were a bunch of people here during lunch, but was able to get in and out quickly. Considered their staple double matcha, but it was smaller in portion to the banana matcha which was my number 2 option. Very happy about this, I make matcha at home it was nice switching it up to a new flavor. Maybe the only complaint is the drink was 7.50, but for a smaller spot, it's common. One thing I've noticed, though, is that at Flat White, the cream is whipped a little too thick. Instead of slowly blending into the iced latte, it just sits on top. Since the drink is cold, the cream doesn't dissolve very well, and by the end I'm left with little clumps of cream floating around instead of a creamy, well-integrated drink. I was at the laundromat and Cypress and wanted a bite. I wanted Chipotle, but they didn't open until 11:30 AM so I stumbled upon Flat White Coffee while searching for an alternate on Apple Maps. Well, well, well, I am glad I went here! First of all, the atmosphere was amazing. I love the warm toned lighting, the artwork, and even their stickers. The Bichon Frisé logo is adorable! Plus, they're dog friendly because there was a woman with her dog hanging out in there. They are pretty popular. I had no idea there was "hype" around this place. There was a long line, but the wait was worth it. I ordered the double matcha with banana cream. I never had a double matcha before. I was sold on getting matcha when I saw the "ceremonial grade" poster up front. I know, I know, why go to a coffee shop to order matcha, right? The drink turned out to be AMAZING. It was so rich and creamy. It was matcha heaven. Definitely a drink that I was savoring with small sips. I was hungry as well. This lead to me ordering the butter croissant and the spinach and feta one. I did not know what to expect. I was surprised that it was so dense, flakey, and delicious. I love the garlicky-ness in the feta and spinach croissant. You can definitely tell it wasn't a cheap Costco croissant. Then I checked the Yelp page after eating the food and saw the pastries are freshly made each day- well, that makes sense. Always looking for any excuse to come by! Love this local shop with reasonable prices for high-quality drinks. Mango Cream Cold Brew was delicious, and the mango puree blended well with the cold brew. They use the Einspanner cream top, and it is yummy and of course fully dairy. The Spanish Latte did not blow me away like the other drinks, but I think my boyfriend liked it (he felt it was like a tasty horchata-inspired latte). This drink is 50% caffeinated beverage and 50% dessert in a cup. This is the kind of drink that you try over and over again to replicate at home, but you're never able to get the recipe just right. We haven't came back here for a few months, but within those few months the quality has deteriorated immensely. Hojicha was bland, not even a hint of sweetness. It was a cup of iced milk and a hint of bitterness. The einspanner was incredibly sour even with the 2inches of cream top and us mixing it up afterwards. The customer service was also not the best, the person taking our order didn't try to keep eye contact while taking our order. When we received our order the barista slid our drinks towards us, which could've spilled. He was told just 2 mins before to be careful when sliding the drinks across the counter. The establishment is a cute, small, clean with bright lightening. It has a sweet aroma of coffee and milk. Staff were nice and helpful. We ordered: Flat White - made and served just right. The bitterness of coffee was exquisite and the amount of milk incorporated well. Sea Salt Latte - a bit sweet for my taste but otherwise good. I really like the Einspanner, it's strong, creamy, and not too sweet. The Hojicha was good, but it could've been stronger. The color was more of a gray rather than a brown. 3.5 stars. It's a small space so it's hard to find a seat. Because it was busy, there wasn't anyone coming out to clean the tables or floor so it was quite dirty, especially the corner table I sat because it was the only free spot. Einspanner had the thick cream on top, which is a decent pairing to the coffee until you've drank all the coffee part and you're left with a lot of the cream. It felt like a waste to toss the rest away but you do need the coffee to easily drink it. The strawberry sea salt white choco croissant was quite disappointing. The white chocolate strawberry top was quite light (think strawberry pocky coating but less strawberry flavor) but the most disappointing was that there was hardly any filling inside and when there was, it was just at the end of one half. So, for the most part, it was just a half coated croissant with a tiny bit of filling. Would not recommend this one. Try another one instead. read more
