Usually I'm a sipper, but today my drink was gone in about 10 minutes because of how delicious and refreshing it was on this hot day. Just a heads up though--this is not a Masala chai with spices like cardamom. This chai is more of a sweet creamy cinnamon chai. Definitely recommend. Service 10/10 Friendly, pleasant, and helpful service. Ambiance 9/10 Clean and minimal design. On a Friday early, there was only 2-3 customers studying or reading. Great place to study with good free wifi, outlets, and a bathroom. There's also plenty of parking and lots of restaurants and eateries walking distance. One thing that really stands out is that the ice cubes are made from coffee, so even as the ice melts, the coffee never gets watered down. I loved the cleanliness and simplistic design of this place, no need for dark corners, it was bright and welcoming. I tried their signature iced banana latte with whole milk and was impressed by the big espresso ice cubes. It was a clean cup of coffee, smooth and light, and no graininess in the cup. The coffee barista stated that they roast their own coffee. The food and drinks were underwhelming. They're not terrible, but I definitely wouldn't order the coffee again. I'd probably try a different latte if given the chance. I ordered my drink with 25% ice, expecting the rest of the cup to be filled with the actual drink. Instead, the drink itself was short by about the same amount -- the cup wasn't even filled to the top. If I'm requesting less ice, I shouldn't be getting less drink too. It felt like 25% of the drink was missing along with the ice, which defeats the purpose of customizing the ice level. To make it worse, I had placed a group order because I convinced my colleagues that this place was worth trying. I was honestly embarrassed passing the drinks out because several of them were underfilled the same way. Needless to say, we won't be return customers. This spot is a hidden gem and SO glad I stopped in. One of the top coffee spots I've tried and I have been to a lot of coffee spots! The spot is clean and customer service was friendly and efficient. One of their signature and most popular drinks is their iced peanut butter cream top latte. I expected the cream to be pretty sweet but it was actually quite the opposite. It had the usual savory, nutty taste of peanut butter with no extra sugar. In fact, the sweetness was all at the bottom of the drink so mixing it all together was the ideal way to drink it. I thought this was interesting because cream is usually kept at the top but it didn't taste as good unless it was sweet. This rating is purely on the two drinks we had for the first time. Both the Iced Strawberry Latte and the Horchata Latte are what will have us come back. I'll have to go on repeat with other reviews and highlight the coffee ice cubes. For both drinks, the espresso shots don't overpower the drink but you do know it's there. The strawberry and horchata flavorings are not weak like other places, the flavor is very present. The servers were very polite. Coffee Code is a God send for this area. The line to Portos was absolutely nuts and it looked like a two hour ride at Disneyland. My girlfriend and I said forget it and walked two blocks down to Coffee Code for a great light and chill breakfast. The baristas were all very sweet and diligent, and the coffee was great. Im not a coffee drinker but I will indulge in a pumpkin spice when the season comes around. I would say I prefer this version of pumpkin spice over Starbucks because its more coffee than spice, which is how it's suppose to be. It tastes perfectly balanced and not overly sweet. I def highly recommend. As for the Apple Danish, it hit. As Asians the biggest compliment you can give to a bake shop is telling them their goods are not too sweet. The Danish def passed the test and the apples tasted fresh and flavored as if they came straight from the tree. Also highly recommend. Last but not least, the space itself. The plaza seemed a bit empty and runned down but the coffee shop itself was clean and modern. The decor is very minimal at this point and it seems like they're still settling in, but its a nice space to talk and hangout regardless.
