I was a bit disappointed with my experience here today. I ordered a cold brew and asked for less ice. The drink came noticeably underfilled and they did not top it off. For a six-ish dollar black coffee plus tip, that felt pretty unreasonable. Since cold brew is just black coffee and not a mixed drink with a strict recipe, I would expect it to be filled when less ice is requested. What made it more confusing was that my friend ordered an einspanner with less ice and hers was topped off with additional cream. That made the handling of my order feel inconsistent and not very equitable. I do not mind paying premium prices and I am happy to tip, but in return I expect basic customer consideration and consistency. A simple top off on black coffee would have gone a long way. read more

Flat white is a cute coffee shop and perfect for small meet ups! They had a couple of small tables in the shop for you to do some work. I got their seasonal iced americano with early grey foam. I would rate it 3.5/5. It wasn't my favorite drink but the cold foam did have a good earl grey flavor. The iced americano had a fruity coffee taste. First, they were out of their new drink that they promoted on IG (matcha slushie), disappointing when you're not prepared for the demanding announcement of a new drink. So I decided to get another drink, which I've had the specific drink before. When they gave to me, I noticed toppings were missing this time, I asked why and, they said they're out. I told them they should've let me know when I ordered cuz I would've ordered a different drink, as it's not complete for that you pay for when it's missing toppings that make the drink all around good. Not sure if it's due to new owners or what, they definitely didn't give the right approach to make a customer want to return on a regular basis. Flat White Coffee is another of the small string of cafes in the Cypress/Cerritos area that I've visited recently. I feel like their menu is very standard of the recent trends that many cafes follow. I typically order their einspanner and, if I'm there early enough, a salted butter roll. Their einspanner cream is really delicious (you can see the little specks of vanilla in it!). Some things that set them apart from the others are the usage of cute décor and a mascot! The interior is somehow cozy while being very minimalistic and modern. Their service feels like it is hit or miss at times when it comes to friendliness. Tried Flat White Coffee for the first time and I was shocked (in the best way) at how good it was! I ordered the strawberry matcha with einspanner cream foam on top, and it blew me away. I also really appreciated that the strawberry flavor wasn't overpowering and that the bits didn't get in the way of sipping -- it was blended perfectly. I ordered their Madagascar vanilla iced latte. It was SO good! I loved how they measure the amount of milk they use, this ensures the drink is perfect. The roast was smooth as well. I am so excited to have this coffee shop so close to home from me! Came by on a Saturday morning and it was BUSY! Lots of locals come here for their morning brew, so be prepared to be patient and wait, or feel free to use their online ordering system to order ahead and maybe save you some time. There's lots of parking available, so no stress there, and the pricing is on-par with all the other local coffee shops around. Their matcha is as SO good! And my husband got the Spanish latte which was also very good. Unfortunately, the drink I had didn't reflect the hype. I got the Biscoff drink, their most popular item on Yelp. Went here about 10AM in the morning of a Saturday and this place was kinda popping. Upon parking, there are quite a few parking spaces but the plaza has a lot of stores so it took a bit of time to get a parking space. When we go to go in, there was a good amount of seats indoor: about 2 tables outside and about 5 tables indoors. There was a bit of a line, but our drinks came out quickly. My boyfriend and I got the Eispanner and the biscoff latte with some chocolate walnut cookies. The einspanner I'd say is average but I really enjoyed the biscoff latte. I don't see many places with biscoff, so I thought that was very unique. I loved how the drink also had the cookie crumbs on the top. I tried their einspanner coffee and almond milk unsweetened matcha. I don't recommend their matcha but their einspanner coffee is good. The temperature of the matcha was great, but it was slightly grainy and the flavor was milky despite the vibrant color. Although 6.25 for ceremonial grade matcha is pretty good comparatively. For studying purposes, not the best due to limited seating at peak hours and very limited outlets. I wouldn't come back for the drinks but glad I tried a new place. read more

I was on my way to Morey's music store to get my violin bow fixed and this was one of the cafes that caught my eye for its presentation and opening hours. As a morning bird, I love cafes that open early! I was blown away by the variety of drinks offered and made. The person ahead of me in the line got the hojicha so I did too! It was delicious and toasty, especially with almond milk, it had a comforting, nutty taste. I arrived around 8 am and by that time there were already a series of online orders and the packaged matcha that customers can buy were already sold! The matcha seems to be a big hit. A little kid grabbed a hot cocoa and was so pleased with it - I have to mention this! Each drink is about $6-$7. There is a restroom that you can ask for the code for. I appreciated the sound level of music (not too loud) and genre of music (calm indie/rnb(?)) played in the background. My favorite local coffee spot! Even though I normally get hojicha or matcha! Their banana milk is so good! It tastes like fresh bananas and not the artificial laffy taffy tasting one. There was one week where I kept going back just for the banana milk. They also take time doing their matcha, they dont just dump it in. So the matcha is smooth not clumpy. I wanted to update my review since it's been awhile... When I am in the area I usually do go to Flat White for my drinks. My favorite thing there is their ceremonial matcha latte. It's simple but the matcha is pretty good. I also like that they have a strawberry matcha drink too and Einspanners. Their coffees are decent and they sell coffee beans from Korea. The staff here is helpful and nice. The drinks usually come out pretty quick. The inside is casual and cute. They have tables and chairs for you to sit and hang out. I've had this place bookmarked for a while and was finally able to try it. I came on a Sunday right before 3:00 PM which is when they close and I was so surprised to see there was still a line to order. There's a few tables inside and outside. Ordered the following: Biscoff Latte ($6.25) - I always get worried about lattes being too milky, but this was perfect! I could taste the espresso/coffee still. There's also biscoff cookie crumbs on top. My bf didn't like this and thought the crumbs made it taste more like food rather than a drink, but I still thought it was good. Signature Einspanner ($5.95) - this is a short latte with their house made cream. Love this latte as well. It's not too sweet and I thought it was a good balance of the cream and latte. Also liked how you can taste the coffee still. Overall, I will definitely be back when I'm in the area. Even with the line, we didn't have to wait too long for the lattes. read more

If you love flavored lattes, give this place a try. If you're a coffee nerd who's picky with their coffee, I'd be a bit hesitant to recommend this. I tried the biscoff latte; I enjoyed the maple and biscoff flavor, but the coffee itself is okay. The coffee has a strong roasty flavor, but if that's the flavor profile that you like in your coffee, then you'll probably have no qualms here. You probably won't taste the roastiness too much anyway if you order a flavored latte, in my case the maple and biscoff flavor combo hides some of the roasty flavor which made it more enjoyable for me.
