    Matcha latte with whole milk
    Kim N.

My friends and I were in the area, so we decided to stop by Arc Coffee. One of my friends was super hyped about trying it out due to all the good reviews she's read about it, but unfortunately, our experience was rather lackluster. Not sure if it was an off-day for them, or if it's because we caught them during a slightly busy time, but to me, the matcha latte I ordered was just ok. Not terrible, but also not amazing. My friends had ordered the hojicha einspanner, banana bread matcha, and orange tonic. According to them the hojicha was ok, banana bread matcha was decent but it was more like a regular matcha with banana foam (there was no crumbs or toppings added), and the orange tonic was a bit too bitter. The front bar area and distribution of drinks was also rather hectic. There were 3-4 people working in such a small space, and cups were lined up all the way to the register area. Customers were waiting for their drinks to be called out, but it was confusing because they would call out the drink name and lots of people ordered the same drinks! I think an actual number/ticket distribution or calling out a person's name for the order would be more efficient. Staff was friendly though! The shop was a lot smaller than expected, but it was clean. Parking space was pretty hectic with cars always coming in and out in such a tiny area. Unfortunately, my friends and I don't think we'll be returning.

So I drove by this place a few times and always seen a line out the door. Today I decided I wanted to give it a try! Located on the corner of Valley View St. and Cerritos Ave. in a small plaza. The inside of the shop is small but modern and clean with a few seating options. The staff welcomed us as we walked in and were quick and friendly. They offer classic coffee drinks, signature coffees, and matchas, along with a small selection of baked goods. I ordered one of their signature drinks, the Honey Butter Latte (served iced only), and an Einspanner Matcha. The latte was strong, creamy, and pillowy smooth. The matcha was also very good, smooth, creamy, and not overly sweet, with a nice matcha flavor. But if you're in the area and needing a morning coffee or afternoon pick me up stop on by and give it a try!

I also book-marked this place for a while. It is near my vet (well, not mine, my doggies') and quite close to another Da Vien location. But, the menu looks interesting and I saw many good reviews so I wanted to try. Yesterday, Saturday morning, was the first time I went, though it was my second time going there. My first attempt I left without stopping because I think it was on a weekend during peak hours, and, I could not find any parking and waited a bit in the tiny parking plaza, which is a tiny corner plaza shared with 7-eleven and few other shops, and there was basically no street parking really, unless you go to the residential on the double lane on Cerritos. Luckily, Saturday late morning, plenty of parking and inside, the small shop was already filled with customers and people sitting to enjoy their drinks. No line and I went to the register to order right away. Maybe bad morning for the staff who helped me but she was NOT happy at all. I wanted to ask few questions because it was my first time but her face made me feel bad even trying to ask questions.. But, she was fine answering me though. Maybe just the vibe, it was cold. Anyway, what caught my eye was the Earl Grey Matcha. So, going against my go-to orders for matcha, which is usually ALWAYS a double matcha whenever anywhere offers it (if you read my recent reviews on matcha shops, the reason I refrain myself from getting double matchas now is the CALORIES!!!!). Anyway but I digressed. I got the Earl Grey matcha and the Goth Coffee for my bf (which has charcoal). The girl explained to me why she would recommend it and I think she said it would be on the sweeter side... So I did not ask to adjust any sweetness, though I asked for less sweet for my matcha. Maybe cuz of how she was, I might've mis-understood what she said but. When I had a taste of my bf's Goth coffee/latte with whole milk, it was .... more charcoal flavor than coffee.... I did not taste any coffee at all... It def looked very cool though, hence I took the photo. It looked more like a black sesame and milk drink. Overall, it was meh. BUT... the highlight was the Earl Grey Matcha... now, I can tell they use premium quality ceremonial grade matcha here. And I appreciate that they take the liberty to make their matcha without asking my opinions what type of ceremonial matcha I would want (some other places have like 4 kinds and different price level and would ask what matcha grade I would want for my latte, honestly, I don't care and it stresses me out having to choose without information. I mean, how much information can I digest reading the city of where the matcha is?? I wouldn't know!!!) Sorry, I digressed again. The Earl Grey Matcha is such a REFRESHING taste that it was just so ....refreshing, sorry for the lack of better words. Because they have the right ratio of matcha:water:oatmilk, my matcha was NOT too milky and the matcha was not overpowering at all. And, if you're a fan of Earl Grey like me, the tea has such a refreshing, light, and fragrant tone that there's a hint of the whole tea garden, with flowers, and spring water with my matcha after each sip. I swear I'm not high or anything but it was THAT good. Now, THAT, is a refreshing matcha, that you cannot get it everywhere. I appreciate that they came up with this combination so much! I don't even know where you get earl grey syrup.. maybe if I look on amazon, but, I would def come back here again and again for this drink!! HIGHLY REC!!!

Orange tonic & banana hojicha (seasonal)

Tried the orange tonic here and it was so delicious and refreshing. The staff were all really friendly and welcoming too. The shop itself is a bit small, but I did notice a few people studying inside. I can see it getting crowded pretty quickly during busy hours though. Parking can also be a little difficult if you come at peak times, especially since it's right by a 711. Overall I really liked the drinks and definitely want to come back to try more items on the menu. They also sell Rocky Matcha here, so I'll probably try one of their matcha drinks next time.

I visited Arc Coffee because I saw that they sell Rocky's Matcha Tins and if you buy a tin, you get a free matcha! My favorite drink that i've tried so far is the Earl Grey Matcha. I sometimes like to get a regular Matcha Latte with no sugar and even with no sugar it's still yummy! The service is good and drinks are made quickly. The seating area is a little small so I usually order and go when I visit. I'm definitely going to come back when I need to re-up on my matcha powders. I'm eyeing the Okumidori powder!

Great spacious, calm & harmony place to be. Wooden chairs & benches. Just open space with no decor except a mirror (yourself reflection). Parking is tight since parking lot is small and sharing with 4 other shops/restaurants. Minimal but great menu choices. Nice & friendly staff. Great drinks & nice small selection of baked goods. Great place for working or catching up with friends. Chairs/benches & table are low but comfy. Overall nice place with good drinks & friendly staff.

First timer here.....Eh. Pros: -menu offers variety of typical drinks you'd find at a Korean cafe -they sell Rocky's matcha. Buy one get a free drink -cute instagram worthy interior. -plenty of seating Cons: -parking sucks. Very limited since it shares with other busy businesses in this plaza. -customer service was crazy. If you're not ok with being greeted the min you walk in or when you tell them that you've never been there before and the girl at the register just says "ok" and walks away.. then this place ain't the one for you lol Drink: I ordered their iced honey latte. It was ok. Not gonna say that it was not good because I finished it. I also needed the caffeine and sugar though this morning. Tbh, I forgot how it tasted like already. But I do remember it feeling like I was drinking melted snickers ice cream bar. It was sweet, thick and warm. Other than that. I prob wouldn't come back. Not because of the weird customer service but because I'd rather drink my calories somewhere else.

Orange tonic is delicious: great combo of bubbly, bitter, sweet, and tart. I have never had a coffee tonic before, but this one is great, especially on a sunny day. February seasonal banana bread lattes (hojicha and matcha) were pretty. The banana taste for the matcha latte was a little too subtle for me, but the latte was solid otherwise. I hope they bring back the double strawberry matcha latte to try someday.

I was dragged here by my daughter, mostly because she wanted me to pay for her coffee. We had the coconut matcha & honey butter latte. The sweetness in the coconut matcha is in the matcha cream top. They use coconut water vs DaVien seems to use coconut juice (much sweeter). At first impression I thought the drink could use a bit more sweetness. But you have to make sure to fully mix it. Once you do, the sweetness will be evenly distributed. If you like the sweetness level of DaVien's version, just an fyi that this won't be as sweet. I'm unsure if they can adjust the sweetness level. The matcha cream top was very creamy. Per my daughter: "i like how the honey flavor is very subtle and not overly fake. the espresso isn't burnt & it's very creamy. i wish there was more butter/salty flavor as it just tastes like a honey latte." We came here around 4:20 so it was close to closing time. I thought that they went above and beyond by offering us complimentary pastries instead of it going to waste. We got the Ube & matcha financiers. Both tasted like the flavor it claims to be. As a Filipino, I can't stand when something gets labeled as Ube and it's really just purple coloring. So it was nice to know they actually wanted to capture the flavor rather than just take advantage of the current ube craze. There were still quite a few people, some waiting for their drinks, others working on their laptops. There's bench seating on one side and seats with tables on the other. Music was a bit louder than I expected. So make sure you speak a little louder than normal when ordering to ensure accuracy. Overall, I'm glad to have another coffee shop in the neighborhood.

This small coffee shop is in line with so many other coffee houses lately. These places are packed with patrons. The menu is small, and prices seem to be a bit more affordable. They offer a small case of pastries, but no other food. I feel like these places are a dime a dozen now-a-days. When ya walk in, no matter how big or small the space, there are tables full of people socializing. I am kind of digging this new trend. As for my beverage, I did enjoy it. The balance of flavor and texture was nice (once mixed). Nice level of sweetness, which for me is very light. The only challenge here is parking. It's located in the corner of a strip mall and I found myself competing with the delivery trucks and having to squeeze into a tight space.

Honestly, I can't get enough of Arc Coffee. The matcha lattes are smooth with I thoroughly. I usually order a matcha latte with oat milk and zero sugar; and it tastes amazing. When I'm craving something sweet, I'll order an Earl Grey Matcha where it has just the right amount of sweetness. The ice quotes are quite large but they melt very slowly which I appreciate. I grab my drink right after school and have a long commute. The staff is friendly and there are seats available to sit down and enjoy your drink. Although oat milk is $1 upcharge, I think it's worth it for the quality of the drinks. I can't recommend Arc Coffee enough!

    Matcha Einspanner Latte

Community Goods dupe in OC?! I found this spot on TikTok and finally found the time to visit on Monday afternoon. They're located in a small strip mall off the corner of W Cerritos Ave and Valley View St. Their store is located in the right corner of the strip mall with very limited parking spaces available. I was fortunate enough to find a parking spot. It might be hard to find parking if it gets really busy. There's quite a few tables and chairs available in-store if you decide to sit down and enjoy your drink! I love their minimalist set-up with an off-white lightning inside! They also have a large body mirror so you can take mirror selfies with friends. I discovered them during their pop-up with Rocky's Matcha back in March and found out that they sell Rocky's tins in store! I decided to pick up a tin and they have a store promotion where you get a free drink when you purchase a tin. I got the matcha einspanner latte with whole milk as my free drink. They do offer milk substitutions! The matcha einspanner tasted exactly like Community Goods. They do use Rocky's matcha so that's the main similarity for the similar tasting drinks! The cream top was sweet but didn't overly cover the nuttiness of the drink. There were a few people coming in and out but they have one person taking orders and one person making drinks so I got mine relatively quickly after ordering. This is for sure a come-back since they don't have extremely long wait times!

The location has plenty of parking and plenty of seating. There is an outdoor patio, and inside there is a first floor seating area, and a second floor seating area. The interior had high ceilings and modern practical decor. Staff will take your order at the cashier, but they also have a kiosk if you want to avoid human interaction. I was here for a few hours, so I started off with a hot beverage since I saw that they have mug service. I had the hot Churro Latte ($8.15/large) and I was warned it's a bit sweet so staff suggested that I get it less sweet. I appreciated the gesture but maybe that's why I didn't taste too much of the churro flavor. It tasted like a good regular latte but maybe they held back on the caramel and cinnamon to the point I couldn't detect it. Seating is first come first serve. It was actually really busy and difficult to find an ideal spot. Since I was alone I sat at a high top ledge, strategically near an outlet. From what I saw, they had a really good amount of outlets in the indoor seating area. Later on I went back and ordered an iced Blueberry Lavender Matcha with Cold Foam ($9.25/large) and a Deluxe Avocado Toast ($15) which comes with egg, bacon, and herb oil. I like that this location serves the avocado toast with a knife and fork cause it was much needed. It was a bit on the wet side. Maybe I should ask for light herb oil next time. For how much this avocado toast cost, I would have liked more avocado. The avocado was more of a spread, not whole slices of avocado. Still good, just an observation. The blueberry lavender matcha was okay. I could taste the lavender but it was overpowering the matcha and the blueberry was hard to detect at all. Honestly the location and plentiful seatings is what stood out most from this experience. I would consider coming back since I know their products are good from trying their other locations but I wouldn't get the drinks I ordered this time. For how expensive coming here was, I wish I was a little more satisfied.
