So glad Nook opened a location super close to my house. I recall trying its original Costa Mesa location few years ago and I loved the Hawaiian inspired flavors. I just hated the location because of horrible parking, so I never went back after my first try. I was a fan of its cold brew drink The Nook Way so I ordered it again at this location. It's a chicory infused cold brew with hazelnut syrup and oat milk. Also enjoyed Island Matcha, which is made with oat milk, and coconut and macadamia syrup. Service was ok. Got the job done, but that's about it. Nothing extra, just like at the other location. There are few communal benches inside but no tables. Not sure if that will change after grand opening. It's still in its soft opening. There are tables and chairs outside, however.

Been looking forward to the opening of this location because it's so much closer to me! I've tried the Costa Mesa and Torrance locations and loved my drinks at both. And this location is just as good! Very small inside, no tables, just benches. There are tables outside (pretty sure they're for the surrounding businesses though). Consistent menu and pricing. Friendly staff. -Coastline Cold Brew: I always get this and it tasted consistent with the Costa Mesa location. Great balance of coffee bitterness and sweetness of coconut. One of my favorite coffees. 5/5 -Matcha Latte: I got this sweetened and it was good too! I will say though that if you don't drink it right away and just take occasional sips it does get pretty watered down easily. But still a solid matcha. 4/5 Note: As with any coffee shop, it depends which baristas are making your drinks. I've been here a few times already and one time I ordered an iced Spanish latte for a family member and it wasn't very good according to them. It did look very very light and milky when the barista poured it into the cup. I'm pretty sure the barista was still training so totally understandable. But the other days I went, the drinks were amazing so I'd say that even if you have a not so great experience one day here, try it again just in case because this coffee chain has always been good for me! Overall, I'm so happy that Nook opened a location closer to me! It's one of my faves! I think they're doing a great job with their soft opening.

Yay so happy to have a nook coffee bar closer to me. I've been to the Costa Mesa and Rancho location multiple times They're doing their soft opening hours currently and I came 1 hour before closing. Not too many people were there and I received my drink very quickly! I tried the matcha coconut which was good but I think I prefer coconut flavor for my coffee. I can't wait to come back to try other drinks

I had a great experience at the Torrance location, so I was looking forward to this new location in La Palma opening! It's the soft opening right now, so they're only open until Tuesday to Saturday from 8 am to 3 pm for now. They're in the plaza behind the Popeyes, so it's a bit hard to see from Valley View. There is parking right in front and fairly easy to find in this lot. For all the hardcore coffee folks, this place has legit coffee. It's not burnt-tasting like Starbucks, and they make all their syrups in house. We ordered a honey lavender latte and a house cold brew. Sometimes cold brews can taste a bit sour and fruity, which I dislike, but the cold brew was easy to drink, and nice and smooth. The honey lavender latte had a nice balanced flavor. Some places make it taste so much like lavender that it masks the coffee, but this had a good ratio of coffee taste with the lavender simply adding to it to make a great latte. The staff were great, from the person who took our order to the barista who made our drink. The store is on the smaller side without any tables/chairs inside. There's a bench to sit on while you wait, but there are a good number of tables outside. They have nice little touches like free dog treats, so they're clearkly pet friendly! Overall, this is a great coffee shop, and I'm so glad they opened in this area! I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Heard new coffee shop is opened next to my house, I had to check it out since I love coffee and match latte. parking is good, can't say parking lot is huge, but the mall itself is not too busy, so it shouldn't be challenging. Interior is simple and clean, very minimalized which i like, but no table inside so Can't bring my laptop there, there are sittings outside of the cafe, now, most importantly coffee! I ordered honey oat milk latte. coffee taste good and sweetness is perfect for me, If you ask me 'is it outstanding?' I would say 'hmmmm' but Is it good? i would say yes, service is good, no complain about it. If you are coffee lover! try this place out.

I was on my way to Starbucks when I saw this place and I quickly did a skrrt skrrrt and checked this place out. So cute. So simple and open. I loved it. I was greeted with a warm smile from a lady (I'm so sorry I forgot your name) beautiful smile. Gave good recommendations. I got a matcha and a coffee with condensed milk for sweetener. FIRE! and they had these cute little mango bread things. They were delicious. And as I was leaving I got a "bye Jessica have a good day" or something like that and I was like awwwww. That's so nice!!!!! I would go back 10/10

I gotta have my coffee every morning and nook does not disappoint! I love getting my flat whites or Spanish lattes here but also have a good selection of tea and lemonade. The baristas here are always welcoming and overall great experience

Discovered an amazing new spot with exceptional cold brew and matcha drinks. The service is outstanding and the place is impeccably clean. While indoor seating is limited, the generous outdoor seating area more than makes up for it perfect for enjoying your beverage in the fresh air.

I've been anticipating their opening! I live nearby and saw a new coffee shop opening, so I've been following to see when they were opening. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw that they were doing a soft opening, so I came by this morning. Very cute decor -- it's defi a grab-and-go type place. Drinks are on the pricier side compared to other spots in the area. Think Flat White, Homeboy, Mono, Haru, etc. I absolutely LOVED my drink though. I got the hot honey oat latte and it was delicious! I wish the size was bigger, especially for the price. Got my husband the Nook Way, which he said was good (he's very picky). Overall, I would be back!

One of my favorite coffee places!! They have multiple locations and I'm so happy they made one next to home! Spanish latte is the best !!

I wasn't trying to debate what it should be called. I was just ordering my coffee the way I like it. Instead, the conversation immediately turned into being told I was ordering an Americano and that they were going to charge me for one. The funny thing is I never cared what they charged me. I was happy to pay whatever the price was. I just wanted my coffee made the way I asked for it. It felt like they were more concerned that I might be trying to get away with something than simply making a customer happy. A simple, "No problem, we'll ring it up as an Americano," would have been perfectly fine. Instead, the interaction felt unnecessarily argumentative. Hopefully it was just an off day, but customer service matters just as much as the coffee.

My only mild complaint is that the timed order- for-later request did not seem to make too big a difference, as my drink was probably ready 25 minutes early. Better early than late, though! Staff were friendly and informative as always. Shop had a few customers seated inside and outside, so there was plenty of room to study or sit a while. It was a bit cold for me, so probably a good place if you want some strong AC. Music seemed like a millenial-pleasing alternative-y mix: good for nondistracting background sound. Honey Bori Latte is one of my favorite seasonals anywhere! Loved it as intended at full sweetness (not too sweet) and still loved it at less sweet (recommend if enjoying with a bread or pastry imo). I like most specialty barley drinks. Default is dairy, so I assume there would still be some even if made with oat milk ($1 extra). We were also there with a baby who needed to go down for a nap, which made the long, unexpected delay even more difficult. On top of that, they had already run out of matcha and the menu was extremely limited, which was disappointing considering that's one of the main draws of a place like this. Overall, poor communication and lack of transparency really ruined the experience. I understand delays happen, but being upfront and managing expectations would have made a huge difference.
