3.5 rounding up to 4 for friendliness, speed, and aesthetic. Love the simple wood theme with plenty of merch on the side: beans, matcha, hojicha, matcha whisk, stickers, and more. I was one of two customers on an early Wed afternoon in Aug. They opened recently, so they have benches lining the walls, but no tables inside. There is a shaded/shared seating area outside, but it is a bit messy/ smelly. Spanish latte as is tasted creamy, milky, and well-balanced! Love that it was not overly cinammon-y. (Shhhh: I tried one up the street at a popular, large spot nearby and it was not very good partly because of too much cinnamon). This one did not blow me away, but I liked it and probably will order again for my fiance (loves horchata-esque flavors). Also, they made it so quickly that I barely finished snapping some menu photos before it was ready! Came in wearing scrubs, and the cashier staff excitedly asked if I worked at the Animal Hospital next door. I don't, but turns out he takes his dog there so that's a cool community tip (he must like it). Hopefully will come back when in the area. And maybe pick up a Jamba Juice, Auntie Anne's, or Popeyes while I'm at it!

We were looking for matcha in the area and I had heard of Nook, since they were rather new. It's located in a large plaza, so parking was no issue and it was easy to find. Their store had some merch inside and benches to sit on. We ordered a strawberry matcha and it was super yummy! We also tried their cinnamon roll and their croissant and both were super tasty. The workers were very nice and we definitely recommend if you're in the area!

Look, I've been a fan of Nook for the past few years. I've literally been to every location (technically not Costa Mesa--it was closed when I passed by but potayto potahto haha). The real ones know this is the best matcha out there. Literally, Nook has never failed me. So when the news broke out about their new La Palma location, I was all in and ready to cross this one off my list. Didn't walk, but RAN. Matcha? No notes. Same creamy nutty umami consistency as usual, and I don't feel like a cow because I'm not tasting grass here. Inside has a nice luxurious wood design, but seating is super limited (just once small bench against a wall). But fear not, there is a good amount of common outside seating shared by the other businesses in the plaza. Service is quality, just like the others. Conclusions? The best of the best did it yet again. Come here for a good time, not a long time (because little seating). I'll stay posted for their next location lol.

So glad Nook opened a location super close to my house. I recall trying its original Costa Mesa location few years ago and I loved the Hawaiian inspired flavors. I just hated the location because of horrible parking, so I never went back after my first try. I was a fan of its cold brew drink The Nook Way so I ordered it again at this location. It's a chicory infused cold brew with hazelnut syrup and oat milk. Also enjoyed Island Matcha, which is made with oat milk, and coconut and macadamia syrup. Service was ok. Got the job done, but that's about it. Nothing extra, just like at the other location. There are few communal benches inside but no tables. Not sure if that will change after grand opening. It's still in its soft opening. There are tables and chairs outside, however.

I'm so happy there's a new Nook Coffee close by to me! I've tried the Costa Mesa location before and loved it. Love the clean, minimal interior and friendly service! The coffee is delicious and creamy. I love that they have a discounted breakfast bowl deal from Maxwell house next door, when you buy a coffee from Nook! It's a steal

Been looking forward to the opening of this location because it's so much closer to me! I've tried the Costa Mesa and Torrance locations and loved my drinks at both. And this location is just as good! Very small inside, no tables, just benches. There are tables outside (pretty sure they're for the surrounding businesses though). Consistent menu and pricing. Friendly staff. -Coastline Cold Brew: I always get this and it tasted consistent with the Costa Mesa location. Great balance of coffee bitterness and sweetness of coconut. One of my favorite coffees. 5/5 -Matcha Latte: I got this sweetened and it was good too! I will say though that if you don't drink it right away and just take occasional sips it does get pretty watered down easily. But still a solid matcha. 4/5 Note: As with any coffee shop, it depends which baristas are making your drinks. I've been here a few times already and one time I ordered an iced Spanish latte for a family member and it wasn't very good according to them. It did look very very light and milky when the barista poured it into the cup. I'm pretty sure the barista was still training so totally understandable. But the other days I went, the drinks were amazing so I'd say that even if you have a not so great experience one day here, try it again just in case because this coffee chain has always been good for me! Overall, I'm so happy that Nook opened a location closer to me! It's one of my faves! I think they're doing a great job with their soft opening.

Yay so happy to have a nook coffee bar closer to me. I've been to the Costa Mesa and Rancho location multiple times They're doing their soft opening hours currently and I came 1 hour before closing. Not too many people were there and I received my drink very quickly! I tried the matcha coconut which was good but I think I prefer coconut flavor for my coffee. I can't wait to come back to try other drinks

I was looking for coffee in area and found Nook. Order a hot Breville latte. two barista's were helping me I like the fact that you can watch them make the latte. I have some questions answered my questions. The coffee bar was very well set up and my picture tells it all good to the last drop!

Heard new coffee shop is opened next to my house, I had to check it out since I love coffee and match latte. parking is good, can't say parking lot is huge, but the mall itself is not too busy, so it shouldn't be challenging. Interior is simple and clean, very minimalized which i like, but no table inside so Can't bring my laptop there, there are sittings outside of the cafe, now, most importantly coffee! I ordered honey oat milk latte. coffee taste good and sweetness is perfect for me, If you ask me 'is it outstanding?' I would say 'hmmmm' but Is it good? i would say yes, service is good, no complain about it. If you are coffee lover! try this place out.

I had a great experience at the Torrance location, so I was looking forward to this new location in La Palma opening! It's the soft opening right now, so they're only open until Tuesday to Saturday from 8 am to 3 pm for now. They're in the plaza behind the Popeyes, so it's a bit hard to see from Valley View. There is parking right in front and fairly easy to find in this lot. For all the hardcore coffee folks, this place has legit coffee. It's not burnt-tasting like Starbucks, and they make all their syrups in house. We ordered a honey lavender latte and a house cold brew. Sometimes cold brews can taste a bit sour and fruity, which I dislike, but the cold brew was easy to drink, and nice and smooth. The honey lavender latte had a nice balanced flavor. Some places make it taste so much like lavender that it masks the coffee, but this had a good ratio of coffee taste with the lavender simply adding to it to make a great latte. The staff were great, from the person who took our order to the barista who made our drink. The store is on the smaller side without any tables/chairs inside. There's a bench to sit on while you wait, but there are a good number of tables outside. They have nice little touches like free dog treats, so they're clearkly pet friendly! Overall, this is a great coffee shop, and I'm so glad they opened in this area! I'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

Stopped by yesterday and ordered a Spanish latte and my husband got a single origin cold brew and really enjoyed it! Was a nice mid day pick me up!

New coffee spot that has recently opened in the area. Walked in and was welcomed not only by one of the people working, but by the clean aesthetic. Loved the conversation while ordering and appreciated the intention of everyone calling me by name. Asked for their favorite iced drink and was not disappointed. The Nook is delicious and refreshing! If you're wanting a new place to try definitely check it out!! They have dog treats too! I don't always post my stops that I share with my kids but this one is worth the mention.

Nook is another cool addition to my local community, I got the Island Matcha and it was honestly all right. I've always found Nooks matcha to be on the very creamy side, and I'm not complaining. It's pretty good, Unfortunately, there's no seating inside, but there are some tables outside. Not sure if it belongs to Nook. The interior is very nice and sleek, and there's a few seats inside. The service was really nice and helpful and very encouraging to try their drinks. Honestly, the only downside is I find Nook to always be on the more expensive side compared to other cafes, and the island matcha has a weird, nutty aftertaste, but that's just me.

Coconut water matcha - Natural electrolytes with steady, clean energy from matcha.

I know banana isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea because it has such a distinct flavor, but I really love how they construct this drink. I've also tried their coffee, and it's really good! Their coffee has a nice, strong flavor and doesn't taste watered down at all. I feel like they're probably more known for their matcha, but their coffee definitely deserves some love too. I've tried matcha from a lot of different places, including spots in LA, and while everyone has their own preferences, if you're in the Orange County area, I would definitely recommend giving Coffee & a try. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but personally, this is one of my favorite cafés. It has that cute little hole-in-the-wall feeling where you find a place that you just want to keep coming back to. The service is also amazing! Everyone I've interacted with has been super nice and welcoming, which honestly makes the experience even better. As for the pastries, they're really good too! They'll warm them up for you, and they have the cutest cookies that look like little cartoon characters. They sometimes have seasonal cookies as well, which I think is such a cute touch. Overall, I really love how much personality this café has. If you're a matcha lover in OC, I definitely recommend stopping by and trying it for yourself!

Instead, we walked away feeling completely unwelcome. Before leaving, I brought the experience up to someone who worked there, and the only response I received was, "I'm so sorry." There was no attempt to understand what happened or make us feel differently about the experience. It's really unfortunate that in 2026, people can still walk into a business and feel unwelcome because of the way they are treated. Customer service and simply acknowledging people who walk through your door should be the bare minimum. Yet I am a big coffee person, the quality of the coffees and drinks have gone down hill a lot. I would always order the Campfire latte or the Smoking Spaniard latte (when it still had cardamom in it) and would LOVE it. But now when I order drinks, most of them aren't very good or are missing flavors. The Smoking Spaniard is still yummy yet it used to be sooo much better back in the day, now it taste more like a regular spanish latte. I always see the new seasonal drinks and menu and get so excited to try them just incase I find a new favorite. Most of them have been a miss sadly :( The fruit lattes and drinks from their seasonal menu usually has actual chunks of fruit in it which makes it hard to drink and you have to chew while drinking a latte ;( not my fave. I went in yesterday to try their summer '26 seasonal drinks which is Yakult! I was sooo excited. A blueberry Yakult matcha latte! yummy! I got there, got a new earl grey lemon loaf from the bakery, got my blueberry Yakult matcha latte and sat down to try. Sadly, it didn't hit... the blueberries are still super chunky so I had to use 2 different straws because my first one got stuck with blueberries in it. The Yakult foam was really good but the blueberries weren't :( I HIGHLY recommend when making fruit syrups for coffee, boil down the fruit and blend it or strain out the big pieces. I sadly have stopped really coming to Smoking Tiger so often because I haven't been impressed and other coffee shops have been popping up that has better quality now :( Smoking Tiger has been focusing more on quantity of stores rather than quality of their food and drinks.

Unfortunately, that turned into over an hour--with no updates from staff during that time. What made it worse was that we only found out after we had already paid that the kitchen was backed up. That's something customers deserve to know upfront so they can decide whether they're willing to wait. We were also there with a baby who needed to go down for a nap, which made the long, unexpected delay even more difficult. On top of that, they had already run out of matcha and the menu was extremely limited, which was disappointing considering that's one of the main draws of a place like this. Overall, poor communication and lack of transparency really ruined the experience. I understand delays happen, but being upfront and managing expectations would have made a huge difference. Extremely disappointed. We went to this place a long time ago when they first opened and remembered them having a more extensive menu and it being far better. Sad to see that this place has gone downhill. My family and I will definitely not be coming back again.

Usually I'm a sipper, but today my drink was gone in about 10 minutes because of how delicious and refreshing it was on this hot day. Just a heads up though--this is not a Masala chai with spices like cardamom. This chai is more of a sweet creamy cinnamon chai. Definitely recommend. Service 10/10 Friendly, pleasant, and helpful service. Ambiance 9/10 Clean and minimal design. On a Friday early, there was only 2-3 customers studying or reading. Great place to study with good free wifi, outlets, and a bathroom. There's also plenty of parking and lots of restaurants and eateries walking distance. I've gone to the Coffee Code in Fullerton, but it's always quite crowded when I've gone and I've struggled to find a table. Already planning to go back to this location in Buena Park.

The Iced Vanilla Latte was excellent! rich and flavorful, yet clean and smooth without being overly heavy or creamy. The waffle was also delicious, topped with fresh fruit and ice cream, making it a perfect treat to share or enjoy as dessert. The service was friendly and welcoming throughout the visit. I'll definitely be coming back for another Iced Vanilla Latte.
