This place is truly a gem, especially if you love finding those little hidden spots that aren't really on everyone's radar. I honestly would have NEVER found Dowell Coffee if it weren't for Yelp. It's tucked away in this Providence/church complex on the corner, so you really have to know it's there. The space itself is great--spacious, lots of tables, plenty of outlets, and a really nice atmosphere if you want to work, study, or just hang out for a while. Customer service was also good and friendly. They have some really interesting coffee options. I tried the orange coffee, which I'd give about a 7/10. Would I order it again? Probably not but I'm glad I tried it! Definitely an interesting combination and worth trying if you're feeling adventurous. Their sandwiches are good, and I love that they bring in fresh baked goods from a local bakery. Everything just feels thoughtfully curated. I'd definitely come back. First time visiting the other day! I used to come here when it was a teriyaki place, so it was nice to see the space with a new cafe. My dad recommended I check it out, and I came on a Friday morning when it was super chill and relaxed. I can see it getting pretty crowded during lunch, though, which makes sense with all the businesses nearby. I got my usual: an iced matcha latte with oat milk and simple syrup, half sweet. Every place seems to interpret "half sweet" differently This one was a little less sweet than I expected, but the barista was kind enough to let me know I could always adjust the sweetness. Next time, I'd probably request 75% sweet. I also got their scone with raspberry jam and two types of butter. Apparently, the scone was from Cafe Fever! The sweetness of the scone paired with the more bittersweet matcha was actually the perfect balance. The matcha latte doesn't specify whether it's ceremonial grade, but it was still really good. I'd say it's comparable to In-Sit Coffee's ceremonial matcha latte. And bonus: this place is much closer to me! The cafe itself is spacious, clean and the service was super friendly and accommodating. Definitely a nice spot to grab a matcha and chill. Was in the area and looking for coffee and their menu looked real interesting to me. I've tried two of their pour overs and the Mom's OJ. Mom's OJ is an espresso that's mixed with their own orange juice. I've been getting more into the idea of orange juice and coffee and the combination they do here creates the effect of a light roasted coffee that has notes of acidity and sweetness, so it's surprisingly subtle. My personal preference for coffees in general tend to be light roasted with higher acid characteristic with some fruit notes so this drink achieves that enough for me. They had two pour over coffees and they mentioned that they rotate coffees out every couple of weeks or so. The ones they had available this week are from moimcoffeela where one bean is from Tanzania and the other Columbian. Both are very subtle in flavor to an almost tea-like quality but they are both very potent in terms of caffeine. I sort of felt it almost immediately and they gave good energy throughout the day without any crashes. Kind of reminds me of the caffeine buzz that comes from ceremonial grade matcha, which feels different than typical coffee or espresso to me. Anyway, the flavor profile of the Tanzania SL28 bean is marked with apple, candied lemon and honey. Personally got slight acid notes akin to maybe the candied lemon but was difficult for me to get the other notes. This one had a quality of like jasmine tea or something similar as well. I also got the Columbia Gesha coffee that had hibiscus, grape, and floral notes. Between the two I preferred the Columbian one as the tartness is more pronounced and had a juicier profile. I can taste the hibiscus and grape notes a little more. Both are quite easy to drink with one being more tart and juicy vs the other being a little more acidic. The staff is friendly and there's Andes chocolate candies available for customers which is a nice addition as I personally love those things. The room is comfortable and bathroom is clean and spacious. read more

Chill vibe here at Dawa Coffee off of Alondra Blvd & Carmenita Road in the city of Santa Fe Springs! I parked on the side with a sign which read "Coffee Coffee Coffee" on the corner and when I entered the back parking lot, there was also a sign which had an arrow pointing to Dawa Coffee, good clear directions! I walked in and saw a barista that was nice and said "I will be with you in a moment" with a smile. I was pleasantly surprised to see such a quiet and chill coffee house that didn't have the noisy sounds of a blaring speaker or a noxious crowd, instead it was the opposite, very chill as stated before and not too busy, just right for someone not looking to be bothered and just wanting coffee. I like the simplicity of the menu and the prices were not bad, pretty decent. I chose the iced mocha latte with regular milk because I do like a sweet coffee, however the dark chocolate ganache is the compliment to a coffee for not being overly sweet. I also enjoyed that it had more of the dark chocolate flavor versus the whole milk, which sometimes can be confusing with a latte that tastes as if you're drinking just chocolate milk. Plenty of parking in the lot when I came here for their grand opening around 9:30am. They were giving out free drinks while supplies last! I decided on an iced Spanish latte with almond milk. Went early on a Tuesday and the wait wasn't long at all. Great place to get coffee before heading to work as they open early. Great quality coffee and service was speedy. The baristas and staff are super friendly. Place is super peaceful for studying or working on your laptop. There was plenty of parking. GPS might lead you to the back of the building and guide you around, but there was a gate that separates the parking lots so keep that in mind. I just parked there and walked around. read more

Was looking for a new coffee shop to try and found Dawa Coffee. They're a brand new specialty coffee & matcha cafe in Santa Fe Springs that focuses on high quality espresso drinks with premium coffee beans & handcrafted matcha. Dawa Coffee is also more of a minimalist shop with a clean aesthetic interior that's good for working, studying and hanging out. I like that the vibe is very chill and there's a good amount of space. The staff members are also very friendly & helpful. They really know their coffee. The quality of both their coffee & matcha is great. It's well made, smooth and very balanced with good flavors. There's some unique drinks of their menu as well. Their Mom's OJ is orange juice with espresso. Their Nico is also very good along with their tonics. The house made cream top I added on my matcha latte was a great choice as well. They carry pastries too and their cookies & scones are worth trying. They get their stuff from Cafe Fever and the lemon cookie & raspberry scone were insanely delicious. It's for sure a great new cafe to check out. I love the vibe of this shop; such a lovely interior decorated with plants and a lot of dark wood accents which being a clean yet cozy ambience. The drinks + pastries were also SO good !!
