Before n After instantly earned a spot on my favorites list. The cafe itself is so cute -- Korean-inspired, thoughtfully designed, and full of personality. The giant LED screen wall creates such a unique atmosphere, and even the restroom was charming and intentionally decorated. Every detail felt carefully considered. I ordered the Biscoff Latte, but since I don't usually enjoy overly sweet drinks, I swapped the sweet cream cold foam for the sea salt cold foam. That sweet-and-salty contrast was an absolute game changer. It balanced everything perfectly and made the drink feel indulgent without being overwhelming. This drink is my absolute favorite. EVER - and I used to be a barista in a Cuban coffee shop. As good as the latte was, the real star of the show was the Kaymak. Calling it "cream cheese" would honestly be an insult because it was so much more than that. Rich, creamy, and unbelievably delicious, topped with pistachios and honey--it was one of those bites that makes you immediately want another. I wish I had taken better notes of the menu descriptions and snapped some photos, but we were in a rush and too busy enjoying everything. The owners were incredibly sweet and welcoming, which made the experience even better. Definitely worth the drive, and I'll absolutely be back to work my way through more of the menu and take pics! Stopped by Before & After Coffee Shop recently, and the first thing that caught my attention was the name. It's such a cute concept, and thankfully the coffee shop itself lives up to it. The café is located in a larger plaza surrounded by several other businesses, making it easy to find. There's plenty of parking available, which is always a plus. The only thing I'd note is that the parking lot has a lot of turns and connecting sections that lead to additional businesses deeper into the complex. It can feel a little narrow in certain spots, and traffic tends to keep moving, so just be mindful of other cars while navigating through the lot. Once inside, the space felt bright, clean, and welcoming. The menu was easy to read and not overwhelming, which I appreciated. There was plenty of seating available, making it a comfortable spot whether you're meeting a friend, catching up on work, or just enjoying a drink. I originally came in for two drinks that immediately caught my attention: the Cinnamon Toast Crunch Matcha and the Biscoff Cookie Latte. Chill Korean cafe vibes in La Palma. Went for an after dinner dessert. Parking was plentiful in the large plaza. Ordered the strawberry latte and an earl grey scone, and also had a taste of the Korean rice latte. The strawberry latte was pretty good, I think could have used some fresh strawberries along with less preserves, as it was a little too sweet - but didn't mind it overall. The Korean rice latte was also a little on the sweeter side also. The scone was a bit too dry for my liking - so may pass on that next time around. Before N After Coffee is such a hidden gem tucked into a large strip mall right off the 91 freeway with super easy parking. The space is small but mighty with tons of seating both indoors and outdoors, making it the perfect spot to catch up with friends, work, or just relax with a coffee. Owner Kyle was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better! The lattes were delicious, the bagels were fresh, and the homemade cream cheese spreads are an absolute must-try. My mom introduced me to this place and I was thoroughly impressed by their service and drinks! I got their Misutgaru Latte and Strawberry Latte (both light ice). Both drinks tasted great, I preferred more of the misutgaru latte more (possibly bc I'm Korean and I've had it when I was younger). Service was excellent and clean inside. I loved their clean set up and laid back experience. They have ample enough of parking. I felt their drinks were a little more on the pricey side though. So glad I was in the area to get my car serviced. I Yelp'd a coffee spot to grab before waiting at the dealer. Before n After came up with raving reviews and I had to check out what the hype was about. What a gem! Love that parking was easy and the cafe was easy to find. Checked out Before n After Coffee (they opened last November) and wow... this place is poppin. We went on a Friday night about an hour before closing and still barely managed to snag a seat. Always a good sign. The service was top notch and the interior is such a vibe--clean, cozy, and the kind of place you actually want to hang out for a while. But most importantly... the matcha. My friends and I tried out this place because an influencer stated this as a studio ghibli cafe. HOWEVER, this isn't a Studio Ghibli cafe, but I would still recommend it! I found Before n After Coffee Shop on Yelp. It's in the Centerpointe shopping center. I came here today and first off I love that it's a family-owned businesss you can really feel the care and pride they put into the place. I decided to get the boat latte and a chocolate chip walnut cookie. Their boat latte is one of their speciality drinks unfortunately it is made with oat milk and it cannot be changed. I decided to try my luck but to be honest it wasn't my cup of tea. As I was walking a nice gentleman thanked me for coming and I asked him if it was his spot and he told me it was the family business. He was the Father and told me his son and I said oh yes I read the Yelp reviews. I did mention that I wasn't pleased with my drink and he was so kind enough to tell me to talk to his son and his son would take care of me. I talked to Kyle and he was soooo nice and understanding. I opted to get the vanilla latte instead and he was so accommodating of remaking me a drink so I was happy. I didn't love the vanilla syrup but for them to remake it I give them 5 stars for service. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, the kind of spot where you can relax, catch up with a friend, or get some work done. I love the LED wall they had that had different animations playing its super unique. I didn't get a chance to sit down as I grabbed my drink and cookie to go but it would be nice to check it out next time. Oh and the cookie was a little dry and my Husband felt the same. It tasted like those almond cookies with the pink box just with chocolate chips. This place has been open for about 2 months now and I just really loved the service. The moment you walk in, the little you from elementary school comes out and you can't help but smile and silently scream how so kawaii. Pure happiness appears and all sadness disappears. Along with that, their Boat and matcha toast crunch latte is a great addition to the fresh baked pastries made every morning. I love the whole family is involved in this new coffee shop. This coffee shop was inspired on their family trip to Korea and this family set a goal to make this coffee shop happen they did. I almost ruled BnA aka Before n After out because on social media, the shop was marketed as a cozy Ghibli vibe coffee shop. In the online reels, there's a giant monitor that projects cozy clips, but beyond that, it is not Ghibli-esque. For example, the chairs aren't comfortable to be considered cozy, so I knew I would have been bamboozled if I went in expecting that. Thank goodness I stopped by this place one night because it was opened late and close by one of the public libraries. It was too late for coffee then, so I had asked an associate what she recommended. Jayme was very patient, welcoming, and polite to my friend and me. She took the time to answer our questions about the items on the menu and shared what her favorites were. Based on the recommendations, I opted for the the Aloe-Ha drink, it's the blue colored drink that is refreshing, not too sweet, and just a perfect kind of light tea with what I believe is aloe vera jelly, basil seeds, and some coconut. Totally would come back again for this drink. My friend got their rice latte, which reminded us of a coffee tasting like cereal. I really loved their butter scone too. It's dense enough, not too sweet, with a piece of butter, and drizzled caramel. Probably one of the better ones I have had, and I am told this is made in-house. One of their best items that isn't marketed or explained enough (unless when asked) is their Kaymak dish. Kaymak is like clotted cream, but a little sweeter. Clotted cream is usually eaten with scones, but with Kaymak (the cream), it just depends. Here, the shop serves it with sliced toast and some honey drizzled. It is a very comforting dish, and tastes really good! In all honesty though, it is a bit overpriced by my standard for about $8 for cream, drizzled with honey, sprinkled with pistachio, and 4 thin slices of toast. I recommend they elevate this somehow with what they're charging. But the dish is definitely worth trying for those who love clotted cream, which isn't always easy to find in the USA. They make the Kaymak in-house as well. I did like the place overall, that I came back twice in a week with the bestie to force her to try their items. This time, it was Kyle who assisted us, and he was just as friendly and helpful. Consistently good customer service both times I went. They bring out the order to your table and will provide utensils and napkins too. Restrooms are clean, but parking can get challenging given the plaza space they share with other businesses. Good drinks and a nice place work, study, or hang out. I came here on a Sunday evening and it was a little crowded. Luckily, I was able to snag a table to work but there is a mix of both regular tables and low top tables. Try to make sure all of your electronics are charged before coming because there are only two regular tables with outlets and one low top table with an outlet. I was able to try a few different drinks and here are my ratings. 1. Korean Pear Espresso Tonic: loved how it was more coffee forward - you can really taste the espresso and the Korean pear puree really balanced out the flavors - not too sweet - very unique and haven't seen this done anywhere else 2. Jeju Tangerine Matcha: I'm honestly not a fan of orange flavored/citrusy drinks but this tangerine matcha was really good - it is on the sweater side so I would recommend adjusting the sweetness - also it's $1 extra to get alternative milk 3. Cinnamon Toast Crunch Matcha Latte: kinda too sweet for me I would rather get the Jeju matcha - I do appreciate the oat milk base though 4. Boat Latte: kinda just tasted like a basic latte - good but nothing special - oat milk as well Parking was great. There's a huge lot in front and the vibes are there. Service was great but I wouldn't come here for a quick coffee/matcha fix. Definitely more of a chill and yap kind of place. I'll be back! read more

I would rate the drinks at about 4 stars but 5 stars for overall experience. This place has the most unique decor because of its large LED screen which covers an entire wall with different scenic background each day. It's almost like a mini IMAX screen where it makes you feel like you're in a different place if you are sitting close enough to the wall. It also has a bookshelf with several betta fish in tiny glass bowls. I think there are at least 10 of them. Tried five different drinks so far and my favorite is its Cinnamon Toast Crunch Matcha Latte. It's just a well-balance drink with just the right amount of sweetness and smooth matcha flavor. It has ceremonial grade matcha with oat milk, sea salt cold foam, and topped off with Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal pieces. Korean Jeju Tangerine Matcha was good but it took me a while to get used to the flavor, mainly because I never had orange flavor mixed with matcha. It was weird at first but I finally go the flavor after about five minutes. I still prefer more traditional fruit flavors like strawberry and blueberry when it comes to matcha based drinks. Korean Rice Misutgaru Latte was soothing and tasty. It's a grainy, nutty drink for those that are not familiar. Good drink option for little kids since it doesn't have any caffeine. Korean Pear Espresso Tonic sounded interesting on paper but didn't think it added much to the flavor. The pear puree mainly added sweetness to the drink but I couldn't really taste much difference from a plain espresso tonic. Still good but just didn't taste as unique as I expected. Brown Sugar Tiger Milk Tea was good but was too sweet for me. I'll just have to remember to ask to make it less sweet if I get it again. There isn't any tea in the drink so it's another good option for kids. Service has been good. Each time I've been here, someone always brought the drinks to my table instead of just calling my name. It has a nice clean, modern decor, but space is quite small and has been packed each time I've been here. I still managed to find an empty seat each time, but it has been too cramped for my comfort level. This is located on the west end of Centerpointe Plaza near the 91 Freeway. Went to Before n After after seeing a few social media videos about it! It ended up being a lovely cafe with kind staff and a solid matcha along with some unique aesthetics. Before n After may initially be a little tricky to find. If you're familiar with this area, it's located in a small strip mall near a FedEx Kinko and Panda Inn where you'll mainly need to get into. Parking in general isn't too bad since there are a handful of small shops nearby. Coming into the cafe, you'll notice first and foremost the giant LED screen to the right side. It's quite lovely with usually vistas of some nice places. Saw on social media some Studio Ghibli movies sometimes playing although I haven't had the good fortune of getting those during my visits. Going to the front, I was always greeted really kindly by the cashier/barista. Their menu has various matcha and coffee-related items including some Korean-inspired drinks like a Korean pear beverage. I opted to go with my usual current favorite - an iced matcha latte with almond milk and no added sweetener. They label the type of ceremonial matcha they use as well. I really enjoyed their matcha which I believe they take time to whisk. Not too bitter with some earthiness. And the almond milk they use complements the matcha super well. Pricing is about $6.50 for the matcha latte. There were a lot of tables/seats to chill comfortably along with a water station. Overall, it's a lovely place to grab a drink and unwind/have a chat. The huge screen playing relaxing scenery was mesmerizing! I saw this place in a viral TikTok, and they even played a Studio Ghibli background at one point. The white furniture makes the big screen more soothing to the eye. I ordered the cinnamon crunch toast matcha latte and really liked it. It reminded me of a matcha horchata, and the cinnamon crunch cereal on top added a nice texture. Not too sweet so it was a good drink for me. The dirty matcha was just okay for me because the coffee overpowered the matcha flavor, but I'm still giving this place a 5/5. The space is incredibly relaxing, perfect for studying, and the barista was friendly and even served our drinks to the table. I'll be back to try the Jeju Matcha Tangerine or the Korean Pear drink! read more
