Found this spot on the way to do some errands, not in my usual neighborhood but I found it. This place is super nice with chill vibes, very basic menu but hey it's coffee right ? The worker helped us out very well, they have a front and back door which is nice and a clean bathroom, there's a little area to shop around and they even have discounted baked goods for pretty cheap. We picked a nice table and hung out to enjoy the delicious iced latte, since Pumpkin is everywhere I had the white mocha . So so good !!
We came here twice and tried the bagel sandwich, matcha, mocha, and chai latte. The drinks are good each time. I definitely come back for the drinks. The first time we tried the breakfast sandwich it was good, but the second time not sure what happened but there was a lot of cream cheese. It sadly turned us away from the sandwich. But! I will come back for drinks. The location is good to bring a book and read with a drink. It has a unique look on the inside.
I saw this place off the Main Street. It's so large and cute inside! My drink was delicious and happy for pumpkin season! Had a bagel sandwich also, which was savory and made well. Highly recommend this location and the barista was very helpful!
The Vibe There's nothing I love more than a slow Saturday morning, and Local Grind Coffee understood the assignment. I drive by this place all the time and never realized it's bigger and more modern inside than you'd expect. It's clean, bright, and thoughtfully designed, with cute merch and windows all around. I loved sitting there and just watching the traffic pass by. It was Valentine's Day, and they had an old-school R&B playlist playing, which really elevated the vibe. What I Ordered I came in knowing exactly what I wanted: an almond croissant and an iced chai. The croissant was solid, warm, and flaky like it's supposed to be. The iced chai with almond milk was a little on the sweet side, but still really good and I finished it happily. The Service The service was the real standout. This was my first visit, and the guy behind the counter was genuinely welcoming. Not forced, not scripted. When I mentioned it was my first time, he upgraded the size of my drink, which was such a cute little touch. He also signed me up for their rewards program and let me know my 12th drink is free. Friendly, thoughtful, and a great first impression all around. Final Thoughts Excellent experience from start to finish. This is the kind of neighborhood coffee shop that makes you want to come back, sit a little longer, and make it part of your routine. I'll definitely be back.
This quiet coffee cafe sits on a corner with parking in a small lot behind the building (I never saw signage saying the lot was for Local Grind but I'm assuming it's okay). The interior has a dozen tables and the vibe is quiet and minimalistic in the decor department. I found the workers, both the person taking orders and the barista, to have personalities reflecting the weather that day - gloomy. I ordered off the seasonal menu on the wall, a hot gingerbread latte, and chose a cinnamon roll (yes, heated please). After five minutes my order was ready. There was one open table with a single chair that I grabbed. The gingerbread latte was pretty darn good. It really did taste like gingerbread with a little spice to it. After drinking half of it I realized the flavor was getting bolder so I stirred it up to even out the taste (looked like whatever they used to flavor the drink was settling in the bottom of the cup). The cinnamon roll was above average with an emphasis on the cinnamon (yay!) although the outer ring of the roll was a bit tough. Probably a 3.5 experience that I'm rounding up. As an aside, I noticed they sell day-old bagels for a dollar in a basket at the counter! I didn't get one myself but they looked good.
Cute cafe! Ordered latte with oat (yum), cappuccino (also tasty but prefer their latte). Friendly service. Clean indoors with some own local merchandise (sweaters, mugs, cards, coffee...) for sale--love that. Have pastries for sale too but did not try. Ample seating indoors. Nice pit stop after Pilates across the street :)
Such a chill vibe. We came in around 9am on a Sunday mooring and there was only one other person there. The staff was friendly and the drinks were delicious, we'd definitely come back.
Terrible experience! I ordered a regular latte, nothing special. It took the girl longer than normal to take everyone's order. After ~15 mins of waiting for my drink, it never came. Three orders before me were delivered and my drink hadn't even been started. The folks who ordered before me returned their order because it was wrong. There were three employees and their sense of urgency was non-existing. Finally, I asked for a refund. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
This is a great local coffee shop! The staff was friendly and welcoming! My wife and I tried their specials, Iced Chocolate Covered Cherry Mocha and an Iced Strawberry Shortcake. These were really delicious and reasonably priced! This is right next to the Fairfield by Marriott Los Alamitos, which is how we came across it! I'm glad that we found this place and we'll stop by on our next way through!
Great coffee and tasty chocolate chip cookies. I got a 24oz Iced Hazelnut Latte with Oat Milk which will give me lots of energy before taking my 3 year old to a picnic. Inside is roomy with plenty of seating. There is also a back door in the parking lot. Service and pricing are reasonable.

Tasty on its own without any spread. Pricing standard nothing to outlandish? I take this over Starbucks for sure! And opening at 6am is a win! The cookie was so warm and delicious!!!! The bagel was amazing, I got it with cheddar and jalapeños. The iced white mocha was my favorite. I've never had raspberry foam before and I can't believe I've been missing out this whole time! Parking was easy to find, they have parking right behind the store. The ladies were wonderful and nice, they were cleaning and keeping the store sparkly clean!
I was in the area and had some time to pass so looked up nearby coffeehouses with plenty of seating and free wifi - Local Grind Coffee popped up. First - what a cute cafe with character! A lot of coffeehouses are becoming more "sterile" and less inviting - like all the Starbucks that pop up in the area - Local Grind is the exact opposite! The storefront faces Los Alamitos Blvd - but you park in the back - and can enter from the back as well. The cafe space has a little gift shop to the side, plenty of open seating throughout - tables aren't bunch up close to each other like in other cafes I've been to. Service was prompt and friendly. I told the cheerful clerk it was my first time - but wanted something either iced or blended because of the heatwave. While I didn't catch his name - he asked several insightful questions before suggesting to me either their Funky Monkey or Mocha Jolt - both blended drinks. I opted for the Mocha Jolt and requested "less sweet" and he was able to make some adjustments to accommodate the drink not turning into a liquid candy bar. There's a display case with yummy-looking pastries - but I was already full from lunch nearby. Free and fast wifi, tons of seating, but the big, picture windows (one of which I sat right next to) provided perfect viewing of people walking by, and cars driving by - right alongside busy Los Alamitos Blvd. Restroom is clean and located in the back near the rear entrance by the parking lot. If the parking lot is ever packed - you can park along the street and walk - its mostly a commercial/industrial area on the coffee shop side. Overall, a new favorite spot to grab a cup of coffee variation, and get some work done the next time I'm in the area! read more

This is a great local coffee shop! The staff was friendly and welcoming! My wife and I tried their specials, Iced Chocolate Covered Cherry Mocha and an Iced Strawberry Shortcake. My post workout treat coffee , vanilla latte with 1 pump vanilla only is good. Nothing crazy but pretty standard and doesn't need extra shots or anything to be good. Tried their turkey sandwich today. Was pleasantly surprised at how good it is. When I first saw it I thought it might have too much tomato pesto, but it's actually amazing. The only downside is i wish it was bigger for the price , or cheaper because of the size. This sandwich was $15. On the other hand it's about the same price as Panera so I don't mind paying it. Visited early Sunday morning. There is plenty of parking in the back lot and two entrances - one from the lot and a front entrance on Los Alamitos Blvd & Briggeman Dr. Plenty of seating with soft lighting and neutral tones. I ordered their 16oz hot Mocha and their Lox on a jalapeño bagel. The total was about $20. There was a short queue when I had arrived, and my order was ready in 10-15 minutes. I'm pretty bias about Lox Bagels (I can't remember the last time I've had a bad one). This one was a bit heavy on the capers and I wouldn't have been able to tell it was a jalapeño bagel if my eyes were closed, but overall I enjoyed it. I added lavender syrup to my Mocha and it was a sweet, decadent treat that contrasted the Lox quite nicely. I'd definitely come back! read more
Wanted to try a new coffee shop... I was NOT DISAPPOINTED ! There is parking and an entrance in the back of the shop. Upon entering it is so aesthetically pleasing. Definitely cool vibes. There are items for purchase merch... stickers... pencils all coffee related. It was clean and wasn't over stimulating. Initially I thought the baristas had an attitude but after further engagement I was slightly wrong. I ordered the wrong drink and they were happy to correct my mistake so I was very thankful. The drink was DELICIOUS! I got a white mocha 1/2 decaf with caramel drizzle. It was BOMB! $7.75 for 24oz . I'd definitely come back it was a vibe ! read more

I had heard this place wasn't the best for coffee but I wanted to give it a try. $8.75 before milk sub and it's very watery; you can't taste the coffee at all. Place is cute inside but coffee was a let down. read more

May 2024 Went in on Mother's Day morning which was great since all the other coffee/ bagel shops were packed.. so glad we found this place. It has a lot of space and very open with all the windows. Ordered an everything bagel with cream cheese - really good. Got a Funky Monkey, loved it! My husband got a hot Mocha & Apple turnover and enjoyed both very much. We will be going back. read more

Iced Chai Latte w/ Almond Milk 10/10 - On the sweeter side - Doesn't have a strong spice taste - Creamy Turkey Sandwich 8/10 - Great flavor, taste very fresh - Pickles really helped enhance the flavor - Bread is soft and buttery Stopped by on my way to work for the first time and was not disappointed! In the morning it is not busy but they do have a constant flow of customers. A great spot to come together with friends or family to study or catch up. Will be coming back! Julia K., the barista is very friendly and easy to talk to, she brings a welcoming atmosphere. Julia was the one who made my drink just the right way:) The atmosphere is very vibrant with all the windows around the shop providing natural sunlight. (Update: I went home and scaled it and it barely met 6 oz). Location: corner shop, near the post office. It's at the same plaza as a dance studio and nail salon. Parking in rear. Menu: coffee, tea, food, hot/cold. Saw some bakery goods and bagels. Experience: it looks nice inside, lots of seating for a coffee shop. There's some goods for sale on the side, like mugs and stickers for sale. Unfortunately, overall, I had a bad experience ): I ordered the macchiato (only comes in 12 oz), and when she asked if I wanted oat milk, I said "whole milk" but they gave me the oat milk anyway. The screen did not read "oat milk" so I assumed it was tax that I was seeing. My fault was that I didn't look at my printed receipt which did say oat milk. It was also kinda hard to hear when the order came out too. When I got my cup... it was half empty. I have a very hard time accepting this was 12 oz. More like 8 oz? For $5? Idk. Maybe this was a fluke.. but for now, disappointed. I'm actually really unsure if I'll return. It tasted nice but I think it was a bit too light on the coffee flavor. My brother in law got the funky monkey. It was heavy on the peanut butter. It was nice too, but when we got home, he added more coffee because it was ultimately too sweet. read more
Upon walking into Local Grind I immediately fell in love with the atmosphere! Plenty of space to set up your laptop and get to work without feeling squished. High ceilings, lovely lighting, and even music volume makes for an ideal hang out location. Our coffees were delicious and the warmed up almond croissant was to die for! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Love this spot! read more

My first time stopping in for a quick bite and cup of coffee but definitely not my last! I'm particular about my coffee and they did not disappoint. I also ordered a bagel egg sandwich, suggested by the girl at the counter who was so nice and friendly, and it was delicious. It had cream cheese and egg on your choice of bagel, mine was a jalapeño bagel, but they had so many options. I've never put cream cheese on my egg bagel sandwich but now I'm doing it all the time. It hit the spot. And the decor of the cafe is so cute! They have nice little gift items for that person who you don't want to spend a lot on but want them to feel special and who doesn't love coffee. Will definitely return. read more
