First time here, to be honest, when I drove into the small little shopping area I didn't think this coffee shop would be all that good or very clean since the lot is looking a little bit beat up. I was so wrong! This place is super nice and the customer service was very good . The coffee was super delicious and I would love to come back to try their baked goods since they look amazing! A must visit!!
Came in when they had a promotion for $3 matcha and tried their strawberry matcha. Had great flavor and not too sweet. Didn't stay but it seemed like the cafe would be a great place to get some work done. Service was also great, the person that helped me with my order was super nice and my drink came out quickly!
Great coffee and they have pastries that wasn't just muffins and croissants. The staff working the day I went was so friendly and said to let her know if my drink needs any adjustments. I appreciate it that because sometimes it's hard to approach the barista to make any changes to a drink. It's well lit inside and is a great study/hang out spot. They also have a few board games which is a nice touch!
My son is at Los Al High School this Saturday morning, kiitty corner to Tonle, located in the corner of this L-shaped strip mall at the intersection of Los Al Blvd and Cerritos Ave. I walk over to this quaint establishment, offering plenty of indoor seating, a selection of games, and tucked away corners for small groups to still have space to escape away. There are a few couples seated inside, and two ladies in front of me indecisively contemplating their coffee choices while a young lady at the register patiently waited and answered their questions about adjusting sweetness and all the things. Everything seems relaxed. Eventually the ladies make their choices and she takes my order - simple and boring - an iced americano (it's the best indicator to the quality of the coffee, in my humble opinion). Then as I wait and snap my pictures, noticing the assortment of games and the couple playing one while anxiously, yet patiently, awaiting their order. I soon just learn how patiently when the same lady at the register finally steps away from the register, heads to the back, then comes back to the front to take some more orders from people who joined while she was in the back. She finally has time to make an order - oh, crap, this girl is doing this all on her own! Two lattes of a tiramisu or maple brown sugar something or another for a table that has been here entirely longer than me. Then she disappears to the back again reappearing with two croissants sandwiches that the toaster had been ringing to remind was ready while she attended to another order after presenting the first of what I would come to surmise is still at least 4 orders ahead of me. Still, the lady behind the counter doing all the things continues to take orders and wait patiently at the register while people debate this, that, and the other. So here's my two cents: thank people for their patience in line while you attend to some orders. This allows them to take their time thinking about what they want, orders dont pile up, and you dont waste precious time standing at the register while people figure things out. Thankfully, it's a Saturday morning and most people are just hanging out, however there were patrons that grew uncomfortable with the wait and the seeming lack of urgency to prioritize things better. I imagine this may be your establishment, and youre doing amazing! The coffee flavor was great and you have a fun and creative menu. Until it makes sense to have someone else available to help you, small adjustments to prioritization and time management can go a long way in helping you thrive. Keep up the good work! I look forward to coming back a few times and (hopefully) turning this review into 5 stars.
Tried this place first time under the new management. Coffee was okay. Very clean and nice seating area. Also had some food and still good food. Customer service was very good.
Ordered a latte einspanner and a biscoff croffin and honestly was a little disappointed. The latte tasted more of just milk and with a splash of coffee. The pastry looked nothing like the example in the window. My friend joined me and actually asked me where I got my katsu from and I said it was a pastry from this location and she was thrown off... because it does look like katsu lol. I did walk in and no one was out front or greeted me but there was a sign if no one was there to ring the bell. I did go mid morning so I was there alone and there was available parking but there's a lot of parking that says it belongs to other businesses in the small complex.
Service was horrible. Lady taking my order was rude and unprofessional. Matcha not worth the hassle.
Coffee review #6153721 is what this feels like & todays spotlight is in TONLE! After trying to find a coffee shop that is open after 6pm tonle popped up, and with picture showing the seating inside I was happy to visit. I ended up ordering an iced Spanish latte and a Nutella croffle. The Spanish latte was a very light color I was surprised-- but it was good. It was on the lighter sweeter side than what I am used to for a Spanish latte. I would ask for a lighter sweetness for next time. The Nutella croffle was good as well, incredibly difficult to cut through with the plastic knives. It was pretty annoying honestly cause I just wanted to get my Nutella in my mouth already. It's like withholding candy from a baby... just give me my Nutella. Maybe real silverware can do them justice. Their cookies look delish I hope to try them when I come back. They have wifi and outlets around, and plenty of seating. Some of the white chairs were on the not clean looking side, kinda giving white dog that doesn't get a bath look. Tables were big enough for two people to have their laptops and coffee but that's about it. Their song playlist had all the hits!! I was trying to not do karaoke while I was studying. The music was great. Their parking lot is absolutely atrocious. The smallest skinniest parking space, you're going to get door dinged. There's maybe 2 spots available on the street next to the lot.
Perfect cafe for studying. It's still new so only a couple tables were occupied on a Tuesday afternoon. Nice and quiet to get some work done. My bf and I ordered the Matcha Einspanner (4/5) and the star of the show, the Tonle Iced Coffee (5/5). I've had a couple of slightly better Matcha Einspanners, but still really great! However this was iced coffee was the best in town. Super balanced with delicious complex floral flavors. Definitely coming back!
It's been a hot minute since I've been back here, formerly Chai Masters, and I'm happy to say the drinks are still just as great! Everything still looks exactly the same. I haven't tried any of the pastries or food items yet, but they always look so delicious. I'll definitely have to come back and give those a try one day. This time, I ordered the tiramisu latte, and it was amazing! I didn't realize it came with a ladyfinger, which was such a nice surprise. I really appreciated that it wasn't overly sweet, and the coffee flavor came through nicely and was well-balanced. I was a little worried it might be too sugary, but it turned out just right. It didn't taste exactly like tiramisu, but it had just enough of a hint to satisfy the craving. It felt more like a cousin to tiramisu, which honestly worked for me. The overall experience of the drink was fantastic, especially with the addition of the ladyfinger, as it really tied everything together. The space is just as I remember: plenty of seating and even some games to pass the time. The parking lot, though, is still just as small as ever.
Walked in and was surprised by how big this coffee shop in the corner is. Ample seating, clean, and very spacious. Ordered: Spanish Latte Strawberry Matcha Perfect amount of sweetness. I would ask for light ice next time. Service was quick. Baked goods looked fresh
This was formerly Chai Master - now new ownership and a new name. But the interior looks the same and both the coffees and pastries are the same. And still the same tiny parking lot that is too small for the number of businesses in this little plaza. I came on a Monday afternoon and was warmly greeted by a woman with a sparkling personality and superb work ethic. I ordered an iced Biscoff latte and, after looking over the cookie offerings, chose a chocolate chip. I took a seat at one of the many comfy tables until my name was called. The warm cookie was soft and delicious. The exterior looked like it had few chocolate chips but there were plenty hidden within the cookie. This was an excellent cookie. I really liked the Biscoff latte as both the flavor of Biscoff and a quality coffee were both prevalent. It was refreshing on this hot day. My only qualm is the amount of ice; is it really necessary to completely stuff the cup with ice for an iced latte? I feel like I'm getting 1/4 of a latte and 3/4 ice.

Came here during their $3 matcha promo this past weekend. Thankfully this place is really close to my house so it's super convenient. Unfortunately, the parking lot is really small and can be difficult to find parking when it's busy. The first time I came, I had to park down the street and walk over, which is not fun in this scorching heat recently. First time I came and tried the mango matcha and also bought the biscoff cookie/cookie butter? Both were pretty amazing, and the cookie was super thick and gooey on the insight. A bit messy with the cookie butter drizzle on top, but we made due. The next day I tried the strawberry matcha which was my favorite of the two flavors, but both still good. I also paired it this time with a spam musubi, which was solid tasting, but not sure if it the pricing was worth it ($4)? Not sure how much their regular drink prices or menu items are, but I'd definitely come back for another $3 matcha promo, and to try more of their bakery or food items. read more

Came to try this place for their $3 matcha special. I got the strawberry matcha. Everything tasted fine, but I thought they were a little heavy on the ice. The inside is pretty big with lots of seating and there's a shelf with board games. I have Verizon and had almost no signal inside. read more

Was browsing on yelp for a new spot and was already in the area so I tried an Oreo cookie, pistachio matcha, and caramel latte. The cookie was delicious, the caramel latte was perfectly sweet, but the matcha threw me off. I couldn't tell if it was the pistachio or the matcha. But there was a weird after taste. As for the store itself, it's so big! I played some games and i was too deep in the game that i didn't realize it got filled up until I couldn't hear myself talk. Definitely not the place to study but it's such a fun place to hang out and catch up with friends! Overall, service was fast and employees were helpful when it came to customizing drinks. read more

New owners of this coffee corner. TONE/LE is named after a river in Cambodia. The seating area is still the same. Pastries are more French inspired. Ordered a tiramisu iced latte, decaf. The coffee was more bitter and less sweet (less sweet is my preference). It was served with a lady finger. I am interested in trying their other specialty drinksz read more
I saw this on yelp the other day. We were in the neighborhood so decided to stop in today. They have a lot of good food items. Def will try to come back next time. Service was good. She took our order and made our drinks. Inside is nice. I think it's the same as the previous chai place Coffee was okay. I liked that they have variety of flavors. read more

First time here. Clean place, friendly staff. I ordered an iced Spanish latte with oat-milk. AMAZING!! They got it down not super sweet and the color is perfect. I will for sure be back to try other drinks. Also wanted to point out plenty of space area inside to sit and hang out. read more
SUPER COLD! bring a sweater, lol. But a great place to work in and sip on a yummy drink. I really appreciated the diversity in their tea drinks. Not many places I have been to that offer apple tea. Restroom and free wifi available with lots of seating. This place does attract a younger crowd during after school hours, but noise level was ok. Staff is friendly and quick. Small parking lot available that is shared with the businesses next door. Great lighting and outlets available. read more
Had this coffee shop on my list to try and was in the area so I stopped by on a Friday afternoon. The location is off a fairly busy street with a small parking lot so parking can be difficult at times. I ordered the Biscoff Iced Latte and the Dubai Cookie. Both were good. The inside was clean and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Could be a great spot to work or do schoolwork. Unfortunately, the person working didn't seem super thrilled to be there which changed my impression of an otherwise good place. I was not greeted when entering, the worker seemed pretty dry and wasn't very knowledgeable of some of the sweets pricing. read more

Everything was excellent! The music, design of shop, everything was a vibe. The lady that helped us was very nice . We ordered 3 drinks a biscoff cookie and ham & cheese sandwich, it was bomb! More ppl need to be coming here! read more

I've been to Tonle Coffee Shop several times now, and it has quickly become one of my favorite local spots. Ava and Kenneth are always welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. You can tell they truly care about their customers and about what they're serving. There have been multiple times I've walked in and seen the owners themselves behind the counter working, preparing drinks, greeting guests, and keeping everything running smoothly. That speaks volumes. Not many coffee shops have owners who stay that hands-on and humble. It creates such a personal and intentional atmosphere that makes you want to keep coming back. Our go-to order has been the Biscoff Croffles and the Mango, Strawberry, and Banana Cream Matcha. Every single time, they're made perfectly. The croffles are warm, crisp, and indulgent without being overly sweet. The matcha drinks are smooth, flavorful, and well balanced. You can actually taste the quality. I also highly recommend their Ube Cookie with Fresh Halaya on top. It's soft, rich, and perfectly sweet without being overwhelming. And if you're a matcha person, the Banana Cream Matcha is a must. It's creamy, unique, and honestly one of the best variations I've had. Customer service has always been on point whenever I stop by. Friendly greeting, quick turnaround, clean presentation, and just an overall welcoming vibe. This place is honestly a hidden Los Alamitos gem It's the perfect stop if you're heading toward the 605 freeway and need a quick pick-me-up. It's also a great spot for students who want a quiet, comfortable place to sit down and get some homework done without feeling rushed. Loved this place! The Dubai chocolate strawberries were fresh, sweet, and delicious, and the strawberry matcha was amazing. The café is clean, spacious, and has a great atmosphere. Tried this hole in the wall coffee shop and was happily surprised with the items from the menu I tried. The banana matcha is delicious and definitely in my top 5. Another must try is the egg sando. Definitely under rated and delicious. The service is good and fast and the staff is very nice and patient . This location has lots of seating and tables and an is an open quiet space to relax and enjoy. Definitely coming back. read more

Such an underrated cafe. I got an iced shaken brown oat espresso & my boyfriend got an iced latte w/ whole milk--the coffee tasted very well dialed-in and mixed beautifully with the different flavors of my drink (cinnamon, oat milk). The worker at the register was friendly, ensuring that we didn't feel rushed while looking over the menu (which I really appreciated). :) Also, the interior is absolutely gorgeous! With a cozy, minimal aesthetic, this place is an ideal environment for studying or simply chatting it up with friends. I also loved how they had jazz/house music playing in the background, as it makes them distinguishable from other trendy coffee shops that play basic pop. read more

Tonle Coffee and Tea has quickly become one of my go-to spots. The egg sando is consistently excellent--fluffy, light, and perfectly balanced every single time I've ordered it. It's clear they take pride in their preparation because the quality is always consistent. They also have a variety of freshly baked cookies. The passion fruit green tea is another standout. It's refreshing, crisp, and not overly sweet, which makes it easy to enjoy without feeling heavy. You can actually taste the tea and the fruit.
