Went to the movies and after words we decided to stop by here. We pass through here every weekend and we been wanting to try lol and tonight was the day.... Place looks tiny but very cute.... Luz Elena was our server and she was great thank you. The food was delicious it didn't disappoint... very flavorful and it looks like they also serve breakfast. Maybe we can come back for that. See ya next time !!

Start off the meal with chips and salsa, and I'm a happy camper! While browsing the menu, they bring you a basket of chips and salsa to snack on. The salsa is a little spicy, but not too bad. I ordered the Camarones Rancheros--Mexican style shrimp with tomatoes, onion, and bell peppers sauteed in tomato sauce. It comes with rice, lettuce, a baked potato, and three tortillas. The shrimp was tasty, and I liked the tomato sauce it was in! The baked potato seemed kind of random, but who doesn't like a baked potato! They also bring you salsa in a squeeze bottle that's a little different than the one served with the chips. I also tried some of the 2 Enchiladas de Mole. It comes with rice and beans and is smothered in tasty mole sauce. I'm always impressed by just how complex the flavor of mole is! The plaza can get pretty crowded, but I didn't have trouble finding a spot to park on a Saturday evening dinner.

Came in right before closing on a Wed. They close at 10. No wait, the young lady who took my order was cordial. The restaurant is fairly compact but clean. Ordered an asada burrito which came w/ meat, beans rice, onion & cilantro for $13. The burrito was a Nice Size for the price. The meat was flavorful, rice & beans were still fresh although I arrived closer to closing. Only problem was my burrito wasn't thoroughly wrapped and literally fell apart after my first couple bites, other than that no complaints, I'd come back

The pepino lemonade is out of this world. The dish is a mix of fajitas on a skillet.

The service is awesome. The food is amazing. The pepino lemonade is beyond amazing. The food is super good and you'll leave very satisfied.

Food was great. We order green and mole chilaquiles and they tasted delicious! Everything in our plates had a great taste, beans, potatoes, eggs. My husband ordered a café de olla and it was by far the best I've ever tried. Everything in their menu looked delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Great attentive staff.

Delicious! Surprised it wasn't packed with people. Came with my husband and 6-year-old for dinner on the way home. Husband says would be 5 stars if the beans had more flavor. Everything, though, was VERY flavorful! Chicken enchiladas with green sauce: chicken was great, not dry at all. The green sauce has a refreshing lime flavor. Get the Chorizo!! We had the sope plate and are so glad we tried one with chorizo. Was so delicious. Our waitress said they make it with their own spices. Also tried the Mangoalda - very good, like fresh mangos. Overall wish this was closer to home. So if you're near give it a try.

    Asada and Pastor Tacos

Came in for their taco Tuesday. Got the pastor and asada. Both are great with the authentic homemade taste. I love the pastor. This will be my favorite. I also ordered chicken wet burrito with green sauce to go. Another authentic homemade. Maria was amazing from the time she sits you to the time she hands you your tab. She really takes care of all your needs during your meal. The place is well decorated with soft sounded Mexican music and clean. There's a lot of parking space. Will be back for more for sure.

I went to Taco Tuesday at Katrina's. It was the best deal I've seen around, I believe $1.69 per taco. But you get what you pay for. The quality was low. The al pastor meat had a very different flavor to it compared to others I've had, not in a good way. The salsa was very smokey. Won't be back but had to try it. Service was fast as there wasn't anyone there and again it was noon on taco Tuesday. Comfortable and casual restaurant vibes.

Came here during an off hour on the weekend, and the restaurant still had a decent amount of people. This spot isn't too big and maybe has just a dozen tables, but it doesn't feel too crammed. The servers are all really nice & attentive, and they kept filling our chips & salsa which was nice. The food was pretty nice and hot & fresh and tasted authentic - it was also reasonably priced. The salsas are all pretty mild, which for someone like me is a big plus. They have taco Tuesdays for $1.69, and also a pretty interesting breakfast menu that I'm eager to try next time.

    Authentic Mexican salsa

A Hidden Gem That Raises the Bar for Authentic Mexican Food I usually prejudge a restaurant based on their guacamole, maybe that's wrong of me, but I do it anyway. And let me tell you: Katrina's Mexican Kitchen absolutely blew me away. Their guacamole isn't just good, it's way better than Chipotle, and I don't say that lightly. The consistency was spot on: creamy with just the right amount of texture, packed with perfectly ripe avocado, fresh lime, and vibrant cilantro. I placed my order at 8PM, an hour before they closed, and the guacamole was still insanely fresh. That kind of quality late in the night is rare and says everything about how seriously this kitchen takes its food. From there, the experience only got better. I ordered a burrito, and everything about it was executed with precision. The flour tortilla was soft and warm with just the right amount of chew. The ratio of meat to rice to beans, onions, and cilantro was perfect, nothing dominated, everything complemented. Each bite delivered layers of flavor that tasted thoughtfully balanced and deeply satisfying. But what really sets Katrina's apart are the incredible sauces that come with your order. These aren't generic throw-ins, these are handcrafted, authentic Mexican salsas that showcase the chef's commitment to real flavor. The habanero salsa? Next-level spicy, a solid level 10 on the heat scale, but still rich and nuanced, not just hot for the sake of it. The red salsa had a deep, smoky complexity, and the green salsa, though mild, was bright and flavorful with every ingredient shining through. You can taste the chilies, the fresh herbs, and the skill behind every recipe. To finish things off, I tried two tacos, carne asada and al pastor, and they were both phenomenal. The carne asada was tender, delicately seasoned, and cooked perfectly, served with fresh onions and cilantro on a warm tortilla that had just the right amount of char. The al pastor was juicy, flavorful, and had that signature punch of spice and sweetness that makes the dish so crave-worthy. But beyond just the food, the best thing about Katrina's Mexican Kitchen is the authenticity. You can tell everything is made in-house, from the rice and beans to the fresh-cut limes and every salsa they serve. It's real Mexican cooking, done with care, passion, and precision. I would recommend this spot to absolutely anyone looking for the real deal. Katrina's doesn't just serve great food, they set the standard.

Sopes Trios (Asada, Pollo o Chorizo)
    Jessica G.

We come here once a week. We usually have the same thing sopes trio & huarache. But today I decided on trying their camarones rancheros plate which did not disappoint. Their food is very authentic and taste just like mom's. Waitresses are always nice and attentive. Place is not crowded but because not a lot of people know this place exists. It's winter so they had champurado available. Very delicious.

I went wth my SIL per their recommendation after my craving for mexican food and after sitting down and eating to my heart's content, I can say that it did not disappoint. There was one main person taking care of our table along with other tables in the restaurant and she made sure to come back to us many times despite having to go around the counter and to our corner. We ended up getting three different meats sopes and a molcajete for "one person" and that was enough to still bring leftovers. There were two other parties already sat down when we go there but it was still quiet to the point that we only heard the music and ourselves. Overall a very casual and friendly experience and I would go here if I was craving classic mexican food with friends or family.

This place is nestled into a small strip mall with a couple other restaurants located in it kind of tucked away not hard to find, but you would miss it pretty easy, it was either the owner and his mom or his wife and they both seem nice. They took the order they made the order and they brought out the order so it looks like a hard-working family. Now onto the food !! My soup was good and I could tell that it was fresh because it took about 20 minutes to make and nobody else was in the restaurant. I appreciate the attention to detail, but for me the broth was just lacking. Something was definitely missing in the flavor department. My 10 year old son ordered the Carne Asada quesadilla and I had a small piece of that, which was actually pretty good as the tortilla was nice and fluffy and very soft. The meat in the quesadilla was also tender and not tough which also helped out Not saying I wouldn't come back to this place and give it another try ,but the soup for me was definitely lacking what I was looking for and I've had better albondigas soup at other places.

So in the meantime we needed a Scooby snack :p The Mexican spot next to Thai bbq was closed for the holiday. So I started calling around because my mom needed her carne asada tacos! Called around and I remember I had Los consomes on my list and they were open YAY. I ordered two carne asada street tacos, a queso birria ,a queso asada taco and chips and salsa. I was raised in Cerritos so I know Artesia very well and made my way over from Thai bbq. Walked in, nice clean little mom and pop. Seems like the guy was the chef and cashier. I didn't realize there was a little bell to let them know you're there so I stood around for a good minute til I pressed it lol. For safety, I'd say they should have something that makes a noise when you first walk in. Anyhow, he came out, rung me up and food was packed and ready. Got home and tore into the bag. The chips definitely tasted made to order. Extremely fresh! The salsa was sooooo good. He asked if I wanted the hot sauce and of course I did. Even my mom indulged and she usually can't do spicy. It was a perfect amount of spice. She said her tacos were the softest, not soggy tacos she ever had. The meat was perfect and plentiful. The queso tacos were simple and delicious. No dried out tortillas here! The Birria was nice and soft. Their meat was perfectly cooked. Not tough or a crazy chew to it. My mom said the chips were addicting. We were full just off our tacos and some chips. I needed a nap LOL. They have a nice straightforward menu. Not a million things, just enough options to keep you interested for multiple visits. Great service from a hardworking family I bet. I can't wait to go back and try their soups, even with this summer heat I wish them much success:)
