I might have eaten my weight in chips and salsa but if you didn't , did u really enjoy eating at a Mexican restaurant? Service was friendly and the food was tasty for a semi reasonable price, still on the higher end. The chile verde plate was good and I enjoyed the rice and beans as well. Today was hot and I don't know if they had ac or not because it seemed a little stuffy inside. Only negative was we ordered the limon agua Fresca but we got the horchata instead. Nothing detrimental and the horchata was refreshing. Also for the carne asada wet burrito it was delicious but we asked for no beans but they included them in. All in all a solid 3.5 but since I can't give them a half star they are closer to the 4. Would like to come back to try some other menu items.

Went to the movies and after words we decided to stop by here. We pass through here every weekend and we been wanting to try lol and tonight was the day.... Place looks tiny but very cute.... Luz Elena was our server and she was great thank you. The food was delicious it didn't disappoint... very flavorful and it looks like they also serve breakfast. Maybe we can come back for that. See ya next time !!

Start off the meal with chips and salsa, and I'm a happy camper! While browsing the menu, they bring you a basket of chips and salsa to snack on. The salsa is a little spicy, but not too bad. I ordered the Camarones Rancheros--Mexican style shrimp with tomatoes, onion, and bell peppers sauteed in tomato sauce. It comes with rice, lettuce, a baked potato, and three tortillas. The shrimp was tasty, and I liked the tomato sauce it was in! The baked potato seemed kind of random, but who doesn't like a baked potato! They also bring you salsa in a squeeze bottle that's a little different than the one served with the chips. I also tried some of the 2 Enchiladas de Mole. It comes with rice and beans and is smothered in tasty mole sauce. I'm always impressed by just how complex the flavor of mole is! The plaza can get pretty crowded, but I didn't have trouble finding a spot to park on a Saturday evening dinner.

Came in right before closing on a Wed. They close at 10. No wait, the young lady who took my order was cordial. The restaurant is fairly compact but clean. Ordered an asada burrito which came w/ meat, beans rice, onion & cilantro for $13. The burrito was a Nice Size for the price. The meat was flavorful, rice & beans were still fresh although I arrived closer to closing. Only problem was my burrito wasn't thoroughly wrapped and literally fell apart after my first couple bites, other than that no complaints, I'd come back

The restaurant has good lighting and has a nice festive decorations. Sat us quickly and offered us yummy crispy chips and good Salsa. We started with the Cafe De Olla delicious free refills. We all ordered different things we were all please and happy with the delicious food. Red chilaquiles were so good asked for crispier and easy on the heat not too spicy. Hit the spot they were so crispy and carne asada was cooked perfectly just a small portion just enough to fill you up. My husband and son ordered the menudo and it was very good flavor not too watery. They both said they will order it again. My little girl ordered the pancakes good stack she couldn't finish it but they were good too. Young Latina waiter did a phenomenal she was very nice and let us try the cafe de olla before ordering it. She always checked on us thanks sweetie for your great service.

Food was great. We order green and mole chilaquiles and they tasted delicious! Everything in our plates had a great taste, beans, potatoes, eggs. My husband ordered a café de olla and it was by far the best I've ever tried. Everything in their menu looked delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant. Great attentive staff.

Delicious! Surprised it wasn't packed with people. Came with my husband and 6-year-old for dinner on the way home. Husband says would be 5 stars if the beans had more flavor. Everything, though, was VERY flavorful! Chicken enchiladas with green sauce: chicken was great, not dry at all. The green sauce has a refreshing lime flavor. Get the Chorizo!! We had the sope plate and are so glad we tried one with chorizo. Was so delicious. Our waitress said they make it with their own spices. Also tried the Mangoalda - very good, like fresh mangos. Overall wish this was closer to home. So if you're near give it a try.

    Asada and Pastor Tacos

Came in for their taco Tuesday. Got the pastor and asada. Both are great with the authentic homemade taste. I love the pastor. This will be my favorite. I also ordered chicken wet burrito with green sauce to go. Another authentic homemade. Maria was amazing from the time she sits you to the time she hands you your tab. She really takes care of all your needs during your meal. The place is well decorated with soft sounded Mexican music and clean. There's a lot of parking space. Will be back for more for sure.

I went to Taco Tuesday at Katrina's. It was the best deal I've seen around, I believe $1.69 per taco. But you get what you pay for. The quality was low. The al pastor meat had a very different flavor to it compared to others I've had, not in a good way. The salsa was very smokey. Won't be back but had to try it. Service was fast as there wasn't anyone there and again it was noon on taco Tuesday. Comfortable and casual restaurant vibes.

Food was good, the burrito sauces were tasty and flavored well. I could easily share this portion size with another person. The hostess handling patrons and customers was super sweet to work with and order from. She did an amazing job handling customers that came into the restaurant. The restaurant itself was quite packed, get there early to secure a seat or (see if you can) call ahead of time. The price for the burrito was more expensive than typical places which is why I'd rate it 4/5 stars, otherwise 5 star food!

The atmosphere was extremely dark -- almost too dark. The restaurant itself is small and narrow,…read morewhich gives it the feel of a dim alleyway, decorated with colorful Mexican festive banners hanging overhead. Some people may enjoy that style, but for me it felt overly dark and somewhat cramped. The service was okay. Nothing particularly good or bad stood out. As for the food, based on previous reviews, I expected something above average or even excellent. That really was not the case. If you regularly eat authentic Mexican food, the food here is simply okay. It is not bad, but it is also not especially good. I ordered the combination plate with two tacos, one enchilada, rice, and beans. The other person ordered one enchilada, one taco, rice, and beans. Since we eat Mexican food frequently, we have a solid idea of what good Mexican food should taste like. The food here was decent enough to eat, but nothing memorable. One thing I did not appreciate was the pricing structure. The menu combinations appear one way at first, but if you choose a meat other than ground beef, there is an additional charge of one or two dollars depending on the item. The restaurant does disclose this, but only in fine print, so make sure to read carefully before ordering. Overall, I probably would not return because I know what genuinely good Mexican food tastes like. However, if you did not grow up eating Mexican food regularly, you may enjoy this place much more than I did. It may appeal more to people who are less familiar with authentic Mexican cuisine. Also, to be fair, I did not try the burritos, so those could potentially be better.

This place is nestled into a small strip mall with a couple other restaurants located in it kind of tucked away not hard to find, but you would miss it pretty easy, it was either the owner and his mom or his wife and they both seem nice. They took the order they made the order and they brought out the order so it looks like a hard-working family. Now onto the food !! My soup was good and I could tell that it was fresh because it took about 20 minutes to make and nobody else was in the restaurant. I appreciate the attention to detail, but for me the broth was just lacking. Something was definitely missing in the flavor department. My 10 year old son ordered the Carne Asada quesadilla and I had a small piece of that, which was actually pretty good as the tortilla was nice and fluffy and very soft. The meat in the quesadilla was also tender and not tough which also helped out Not saying I wouldn't come back to this place and give it another try ,but the soup for me was definitely lacking what I was looking for and I've had better albondigas soup at other places.

So in the meantime we needed a Scooby snack :p The Mexican spot next to Thai bbq was closed for the holiday. So I started calling around because my mom needed her carne asada tacos! Called around and I remember I had Los consomes on my list and they were open YAY. I ordered two carne asada street tacos, a queso birria ,a queso asada taco and chips and salsa. I was raised in Cerritos so I know Artesia very well and made my way over from Thai bbq. Walked in, nice clean little mom and pop. Seems like the guy was the chef and cashier. I didn't realize there was a little bell to let them know you're there so I stood around for a good minute til I pressed it lol. For safety, I'd say they should have something that makes a noise when you first walk in. Anyhow, he came out, rung me up and food was packed and ready. Got home and tore into the bag. The chips definitely tasted made to order. Extremely fresh! The salsa was sooooo good. He asked if I wanted the hot sauce and of course I did. Even my mom indulged and she usually can't do spicy. It was a perfect amount of spice. She said her tacos were the softest, not soggy tacos she ever had. The meat was perfect and plentiful. The queso tacos were simple and delicious. No dried out tortillas here! The Birria was nice and soft. Their meat was perfectly cooked. Not tough or a crazy chew to it. My mom said the chips were addicting. We were full just off our tacos and some chips. I needed a nap LOL. They have a nice straightforward menu. Not a million things, just enough options to keep you interested for multiple visits. Great service from a hardworking family I bet. I can't wait to go back and try their soups, even with this summer heat I wish them much success:)
