Tried this restaurant on a whim recently while in the area. It was a Sunday evening and we were a party of 5 - and on a waitlist for Olive Garden next door. It was late and we were hungry and chose to try Frida's for the first time. The service was excellent and the staff was friendly. The food was good and flavorful. My new favorite Mexican restaurant for all things Happy Hour. Monday - Friday at the bar, ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR! Who does this anymore?!! Fridas! The service is always great: kind, thoughtful service. Happy to accommodate orders as well. I had a classic margarita ($9.95) and a crispy potato tacos ($4.50). Also includes salsa chipotle and verde. We had an amazing time! The food was delicious and authentic, our server gave us great hospitality, from the hostess & manager with warm welcomes and the music-whew Can make a grown man cry. The mariachi were upbeat, and changed it up with the tempo. They played one of my father's fave song near our table & I didn't make the request which they just hit it on the nose. Came here for the first time--it's a very big space on the inside so I feel like it shouldn't be a problem to be seated but parking can feel tough bc there are many restaurants. We went around 8 on a Saturday night and it wasn't busy. The food was pretty good and the prices are like that range for 2025 economy but the portions are big. We got a mole dish and ceviche. I think both around $20ish. But the best part was Julian our server. He was very patient and a lot of fun to speak with. My sister practiced her Spanish with him and he was gracious about it and taught us things we wanted to know. And he offered us mole samples to help us decide. read more

I went to Frida's with my coworkers, and overall we had a really good experience. The food was delicious, and the drinks were great as well. We tried the queso fundido, burrito, nachos, and the mixed molcajete, everything was flavorful and well-prepared. Based on some of the reviews, I wasn't expecting much from the food, but it was surprisingly very good. My reason for giving four stars is the service. Julian provided exceptional service. From beginning to end we had a wonderful time. Julian was on point. He remembered everything we ordered. Service was excellent. The food was good. We came just to celebrate life with my mom, two of my siblings and spouse. My mom ordered the Pescado a la Talla, we ordered Nachos with carnitas to share and drinks galore lol. Just went in for lunch today, I'll start way saying the place was dead so that might have a lot to do with this review. The server/bartender Alejandro, I don't know if he woke up on the wrong side of the bed or he's just like that.. Service was more like the attitude "what do you guys want" the food came out of the microwave, 100%. I've only ever gotten drinks at a Frida before so this was my first time doing dinner. We had to sit outside since it was busy and we didn't have a reservation but the outdoor part was covered. Since it was a Friday, they had a live band and someone going around taking pictures. The pictures weren't good but enjoyable to take. The drinks were a bit disappointing compared to what I'm used to having. The Cadillac margarita tasted more orangey and didn't come in one of the nice margarita glasses. We wanted to get ceviche for an app but it was so expensive it didn't make sense to share that with one entree so we got two entrees instead. We got shrimp enchiladas and chicken fajitas. Wow! Parking is not so easy here. It was a Friday night and the whole area was hopping! We walked in and immediately got seated. It was busy yet there was room for the 5 of us. Shown to our seats and the waitress came immediately to the table for our drink orders. We ordered the margarita sampler. You really have to try this. I loved the cucumber and ordered a full one with my meal. Everyone in the group picked their favorites. We had chips to munch on. The red sauce is tasty but drips! Hard to keep your manners with sauce on your sweater. We all ordered something different. I got the 2 tacos meal. Chicken and pastor? Eff yes! The beans and rice were like no other. Dang! There wasn't any wait for us to get a seat and it wasn't very busy for a Tuesday night. Our first time eating here and it just was a hit and miss kind of a place. The prices are ridiculously high and there is nothing special about the food at all. I had a tiny chicken burrito with might of been steak but not sure that was very small for the high price I paid. The flavor was fine but it was about 80% rice if your into that. My wife had a 3 taco plate with all pork because they wouldn't make 3 different meat tacos and the pork had absolutely no flavor at all and it tasted like its been sitting in a pan of warm water all day.The chips and salsa were fine. I always get guacamole every time we visit a Mexican restaurant but this time we passed on it cause i just can't force myself to pay the 20..00 they are asking. Came to Frida's for a group dinner and we had a great time! The patio was a great space and provided fresh die but also warm enough w the heaters. We started with the table side guacamole that was very fresh. We got the queso fresco w mushrooms and ate it with the tortilla. I'm a flour girlie and loved this combo. For my main, i got the enchiladas trio. The mole was good but a bit on the sweeter side. The rojo and verde were solid but not unique. For dessert: the churros were pretty good, the flan and the flan was nice and dense. The fried ice cream had an interesting fry texture but the scoop was too big for us to really appreciate it. My mother-in-law and I are planning a party for my aunt's birthday next month, so we've been searching for good Mexican restaurants. We decided to try Frida's. This was my second visit; the first time was a couple of years ago for Sunday brunch with my husband, and we loved it. That's why I suggested it to my mother-in-law. It was her first time there, and we chose to sit at the bar so she could sample some of the food. The first thing we did was order two tequila shots, but surprisingly, they only had three types of tequila available. For a Mexican restaurant, I expected a wider selection--this was the first red flag. We ordered a few appetizers, including the "Frida Platter." It was just okay. The taquitos were disappointing; since we're from Mexico, we expect taquitos to be crispy, but these were very soft with no crunch at all. The Buffalo Cauliflower was also terrible. I expected it to be crispy, but it was soggy and unappetizing. We only took a couple of bites before leaving the plate almost untouched and just ate the veggie sticks. My mother-in-law also tried the tortilla soup, but it was extremely salty and she couldn't eat it. I was really looking forward to treating my mother-in-law, and probably host our party there but honestly, the experience was just embarrassing. We don't mind paying for good food, but we expect to enjoy it. If you ask did we let the bartender know. Well no, as a professional you should always check on your guests and know if they are enjoying. As myself working behind the bar and in the service industry the moment I see something wrong I immediately check in. Anyways, bummer. read more

My sister & brother in law went there about 2-3 yrs ago for Mother's Day and all bad reviews. I decided to take my mom there today for her birthday and we were disappointed with the food and service. Yea the restaurant looks amazing but so sad that the food and service doesn't match. Food wasn't up to par. Either it had to much condiments or it was to bland. My second server of the day( the one we had went home) he wasn't helpful or happy to be at work We ordered queso planchado, chicken tortilla soup, some kind of fish w chile on top and a combination plate. Kids chicken taco and beef taco plate, best plate of entire order ($12.99 should have been $9.99) We weren't happy and I feel it was a waste of $160 I mentioned to the server it was my Mom's birthday and he said ok and walked away. Great portions, very attentive and patient service by Cesar. For my parents many strange and detailed needs. Lots of birthday celebrations around us. Attended their Mothers Day brunch this past Sunday, and we all left disappointed. We had a reservation for 8 at 12pm, but did not get seated till 12:30pm. They kept saying "your table is getting cleaned" Meanwhile, they allowed other large groups to be seated. After a 30 min wait for our table, I was better off just cleaning it my damn self! Their buffet set up is a tight one and not ideal for large holidays. While we were there my 12 year old niece served herself some orange juice while grabbing her plate from the buffet line. Well apparently one of the servers decided to put down his pitcher of mimosas on the buffet table! Luckily we were able to catch it after she took a small sip and told us how disgusting it was. They are lucky I'm not escalating this. Staff neglected dishes and drinks, leaving them empty for too long. I get that it's Mothers Day and the restaurant was busy, but they should have the proper staffing to make sure the buffet is clean and full at all times. To top it all off, they include an automatic 20% tip for our large group, leaving our server a $100 tip! I wouldn't mind the tip if the service was great, but the server was not attentive and rarely checked on us. It's sad that restaurants add automatic gratuity, leaving servers to give you shitty service and still get a large tip. Side note: the food was good, I'll give them that, but we will not be returning. read more

I have always been treated as a valued client and visited the restaurant three to four times a week. Last Wednesday, I went for dinner as usual. Business seemed slow, but that's no reason to overcharge loyal customers. I ordered a very small portion of sour cream--less than a spoonful--and one extra tortilla. To my shock, when the bill came, I saw $5 for the sour cream and $5 for the tortilla. This is not about the money--it's about the principle and the respect a business should have for its regulars. I've supported this restaurant for years, but this experience left me feeling taken advantage of. Sadly, they've lost a loyal customer. read more

I think Frida has the best happy hour deals! It's Monday to Friday all day at bar and high top area. We came in for late lunch then noticed their happy hour. So we moved to bar top after finishing the soups we ordered at a regular table. The pozole and tortilla soups were very flavorful and comforting for a cold winter day. Queso fundido, tacos and habanero wings were so yummy as well. For drinks I had skinny margaritas, a mezcal cocktail and Michelada. All of them were strong and tasty. My family and friends came here yesterday evening after my graduation without a reservation and they were able to accommodate us immediately. Vianey was our waitress and she was incredibly professional, patient, kind, and helpful. She helped me to decide the right sauce for my enchiladas based on my spice tolerance and preference, and I'm so glad she gave her tips because it was perfect. My enchiladas were delicious. There was some confusion between two of my family members as to who ordered a pasta and someone was served one that another ordered, but that was my guest's fault for looking at his phone the whole time when food was being delivered. The kitchen whipped up another order for him in no time. Everyone enjoyed their dishes and I was given a graduation surprise of a churro dessert immediately following the meal. It came with a sparkler that lasted incredibly long! I was very surprised and grateful. The restaurant was spacious, clean, and had cute decor throughout. I look forward to returning again sometime. A friend was paying and realized there were items that were applied that shouldn't have been charged in the first place. He introduced himself to us and took our order. The birthday girl ordered the Resplandor de Mango salad, I had the Pozole Frida, my other friend had Sopa de Tortilla, and lastly I forgot to take a photo of my other friend's plate but it was Taco de Champinon (mushroom taco). Our orders came. Each dish looked delicious. I didn't hear my friends commenting about their dishes. But there's mine.. my pozole wasn't too bad. It hit the spot since I had a little bit of a congestion. I enjoyed it. Oh for drinks we had each gotten something from their agua frescas choices, tamarindo (x2), jamaica, and horchata. It wasn't too bad. Dining experience.. it sucked. Our server only showed up at our table say, 3-4 times? 1. He introduced himself, took our drink order. 2. Came back with our drinks and took our food order. 3. Came back with our food. And lastly 4. Gave us our box and check. Nowhere in between he came back to ask us if we needed a refill on our drinks. Came here on a Sunday with a large group for their Brunch Buffet. The good: the hostess was nice and gave us the option of inside or patio seating. We were seated promptly. The food was really good. It was a normal buffet style of Mexican food. The Berry Margarita was fire! The okay: the price was a bit on the higher side for not including mimosas BUT the food, mariachi and ambiance were solid. The bad: charging automatic 20% gratuity for parties of more than 6 for a BUFFET is extreme. Especially because the service was not good at all. I asked for water on 4 separate occasions until I gave up. Several members of my party asked for water from our server and ended up asking the bartender directly for water. What kind of place charges you 20% gratuity but then doesn't give the table water? That should have been automatic as soon as we sat down. I am never hesitant to tip well for great service but this was NOT that. Another issue that I had was that it was very hot in the restaurant. They definitely need to do something about the air flow because it was so hot and uncomfortable that we had to take some of the kids to the patio area to get some fresh air. read more

I've been to the other locations and never truly had a good experience in the last few years. I will say this location is my favorite one of all. Great decor and ambiance from wall to wall. The patio is gorgeous and super comfortable. The bar is beautiful with a great selection of tequila and mezcal. The happy hour is priced fair and the food was fresh and delicious.
