Today we showed up around 6 a.m. thinking they were open, but they were actually still closed. The door happened to be open, and the cook greeted us kindly and let us know they weren't open yet. As we were about to leave, he called us back and said, "It's okay, I'll fire up the grill and make you something," even though they weren't supposed to open for another two hours. Usually I write much longer reviews but there's so much here that most other people already talked about it. My basic review is this: - There are a LOT of choices here and every option is great - The customer service is stellar and they greet you right away and make sure your order is confirmed before starting it - The pricing is very fair, I didn't feel like I broke my bank buying the tacos and quesadillas - I'm glad they have meat that's outside of just the normal beef and pork. It's not common you get options beyond this - I think they are very fast given the type of restaurant they are, and you are never going to feel "why is this taking so long" - Get their drinks! Don't go there on Saturday Morning. The original men cooks that are there are not there. Who ever they have cooking in the back there on Saturdays SUCKS. I orders the steak and eggs breakfast they gave me small piece of steak with a bunch of fat in it. I never had this problem before. I will only order when the real cooks are there. Lesson learned . It was always good . No matter what dish I got. And to top it off they took like 20 to make my food. People who ordered after me all got their food. read more

Came by this morning as i was craving chilaquiles with carne asada. I ordered my food to dine in. The girl taking my order kept repeating it incorrectly. After she gave me my table side number, i waited for about ten minutes. I heard her call out my number. She made my order to go. I told her again it was to dine in. A few minutes later, she brings my food to the table in a to go container. I told her i came to eat my food on a plate and not a container. Anyway, my good was brought out on a plate, Food: Chilaquiles were a bit soggy. Egg was over hard ( i asked for over medium). The asada was cooked perfectly though. Its situations like this that makes me not want to go back. The girl taking orders needs to pay attention to what the customer is requesting. I've been here before and have not experienced this. Came here on multiple recommendations, was not disappointed. :) My daughter got the Carne Fries, my son the Pancake Combo, and I tried the Pastrami Fries. My Pastrami Fries were spot on! Lots of cheese and well cooked pastrami, and once I added some mustard and salsa it was everything I hoped it would be. The service was quick and friendly, and they serve breakfast all day, that's always a plus! The ambiance is that of a fair sized short order restaurant, clean with a decent amount of seating, OG taqueria feel, but chill. We'll be back, and you should as well. :) read more

We were looking for some good Mexican breakfast places local to where we were staying and Señor Taco did not disappoint. The service staff was friendly and accommodating to special orders. My wife got the chicken Chiliquiles and also a bowl of Menudo which brought back childhood memories. I had the breakfast burrito with sausage and it was one of the best I have had. I usually get burritos, enchilada plates, quesadillas, and, tacos. The food is average to excellent. They also have the standard meat options, including lengua, buche, tripa, and cabeza. Prices are relatively affordable, considering inflation. The special plates and breakfast entrées are nice options. There's a salsa and condiment bar, fountain and bottled drinks, desserts, and much more. The dining area is spacious, with plenty of tables and seats. This place gets busy during peak eating times and on weekends, as there is a swap meet across the street Saturday & Sunday, from morning 'til 3pm. The staff is friendly and gets orders out promptly. A down home, Mom and Pop spot, with good food, friendly service and welcoming ambiance. Prices aren't bad either.

Not a lot of places were open for Memorial Day and glad we stumbled upon this gem. We were feeling breakfast burritos and decided to give this spot a chance. We dined in and the server was really friendly. I like the salsa bar they had with the variety of salsas and pickled sides. Here's what we ordered: * Ham Breakfast Burrito (5/5): this was on par with some of the other top burrito spots. It consisted of ham, cheese, hash browns, and eggs. What actually set it off was an extremely thin layer of refried beans to give it a touch I haven't had before. * Combination Burrito (5/5): this had eggs, hash browns, cheese, sausage , bacon, and ham inside. The bacon was crispy giving it a crunch in the bites. Paired up with a drizzle of green salsa and red salsa really enhanced the burrito with the spice. I'll definitely be back in hopes that the other dishes in the menu meet the same quality as the breakfast burrito. read more

This was my first time trying this restaurant out. It's a small place. It didn't pass my inspection but the food looked good. I was going to try a bean & cheese burrito or cheese enchiladas. I couldn't make up my mind. I waffled about trying to decide and picked the veggie burrito to go. I was not happy with it at all. It was a generous serving but it was soggy and bland. My buddy had one too. We both ordered the veggie burrito which was $11.10 with added sour cream for $1.04 and added cheese for $1.04. To my disappointment we both took a bite and no sour cream or cheese just a bunch of veggies. There were no beans just veggies. One bite lead to another hoping for a taste of cheese and sour cream. To our disappointment there wasn't any sour cream or cheese. The extra charge of $4.16 was for nothing. Maybe there was a pinch of cheese and a pea size drop of sour cream but I missed it somehow. My pal and I agreed that the sour cream and cheese we were hoping for never showed up. It was all just crunchy vegetables. Would have made a horse happy but it might as well have been a vegan burrito. I'm afraid everybody assumes you're a vegan if you get a veggie item. I should have just stuck with a BRC burrito. I'm not vegan. I just wanted a meatless burrito. We were both very disappointed. We ended up making some awesome meatless nachos after that to cheer our tastebuds up. Still one of the best breakfast burritos...I replace beans for rice and add bell peppers. The toasted tortilla and the egg, cheese, bits of potatoes, meat, rice, and bell peppers melts into total deliciousness. Price has crept up to $12+ but still worth i as it's usually huge. The workers are fast and efficient. Some difficulties experienced with ordering if the person that takes your order doesn't know English well. I've tried to learn how to order my burrito in Spanish and it's helpful for me and the order taker. read more

I was on a hunt for a new breakfast burrito place and was in the area so I got the carne asada burrito with all the fixings.  I called in and they gave me a number for my order and told me 10 minutes.  The burrito was ready for me to pick up after I paid and I poured my sauces at the salsa bar.  At the salsa bar, they also have carrots and cucumbers.  Their red salsa is pretty spicy and their green sauce is more acidic.  The burrito was hefty and very filling because of the beans and potatoes.  I was able to share this burrito with my husband and it kept us both pretty full.  It's a good contender if I want a good and filling breakfast burrito, but I think I still like the steak and egg breakfast burrito from Galaxy Hamburgers more still. I do look forward to trying their other items. I came here on a Saturday around 11am and it was pretty bustling and parking was hard to find so I will be back. read more

Very good Mexican food and seems to be a family run restaurant. Ordered the chile verde plate and the carnitas plate to go. Both were very tasty and would have given them 5 stars except the carnitas had a little too much fat on it compared to other places I've been. The accompanying rice and refried beans were excellent. Just had the chilaquiles with both red and green salsa and a side of carne asada and it was so good. Felt like I was eating at my moms house

I have been going to senor taco for many years, and while I got to see the young boy working the cashier grow into a young adult and his aunts (I think they're family but I could be wrong) stop working, their food quality and taste have not changed. You will never find this place empty, and there's a reason why: authentic Mexican food that doesn't lead you going to the restroom multiple times. I personally love their carne asada wet burritos, half red and half green, paired with their pickled carrots. Complimentary chips is a big plus! read more

came here with my gf, recently. - it's a nice cozy atmosphere. i saw the reviews but didn't know what to expect and let me tell you, this place is actually so delicious. i'm from the area so i know what we got, senor taco def beats the competition by a long shot. - the lady at front counter was super nice and helped my gf pick an something, she isn't that knowledgeable about mexican food. so she definitely was very understanding and nice. i wish i got her name so i could write it here. she was a little older and made us feel right at home. even tho im as white as can be lmao. - i got a cali burrito which was literally better than any place ive been to around here. the only one that even comes close is probably cali tacos. - girl got chicken enchiladas which comes with lettuce beans and rice, i tried it and wished i got that until i took another bite of my burrito heh. - we also got chunky guacamole and chips, the guacamole was very onion forward and definitely chunky, so something to keep in mind. i scooped it onto my burrito and went to heaven. only thing i can say, even tho im not knocking off a star for it. was there was a giant june bug flying around but it eventually got stuck in the corner and wasnt annoying anymore. anyways shits fire. go here read more

A handpainted mural graces one wall, and the small order counter (behind and to the side of which is the kitchen) is dark, but the server friendly. oh man, this has got to be one of the best hidden gem tacos in socal. We went there yesterday and their taco was delicious, fresh and got that authentic flavor. I'm so upset because my life was put at risk today. I was excited to try this place. I ordered through uber eats. I ordered a breakfast burrito. With no beans, no ham , no sausage, no bacon because I am ALLERGIC to Pork meat. Half way through eating I started feeling tight in the throat and I noticed small bits of ham. Had to take my EPI pen. This is a huge red flag when restaurants can't follow orderes on paper. When a ticket says no to a food item there must be a VALID REASON. They also added beans when I said no beans and they also wrote the wrong name on each burrito one was green and one was red but they were swapped. read more

This is one of the reasons why I left the northeast to come to SoCal: to try real Mexican food. Look no further. You know you're at an authentic Mexican place when there's items on the menu that you've never seen or heard of before. Go ahead and order one of them, they're bound to be delicious. And sure enough, tonight was my first time trying a memela. If you haven't tried memelas before, they're a must - or should I say "if you gonna try one, start here". Full of flavor, amazing portions, and high-quality meat that goes in. The sauces are tasty and also spicy. Got a kick but not too much; which makes it great. The environment is clean, festive, and full of artwork. I see why this place has so many ratings and why people give it so many 5-stars. Most Mexican places I've been countered doesn't have real food that this place offers. And as for the tacos, they were large and almost thought of them as mini-burritos. Came on a holiday and was worried about the wait. There were multiple to go orders but we decided to give it a try. Food came out within 10 minutes. We ordered chilaquiles rojos, ham and eggs, an asada quesadilla, and menudo. 3 of the dishes came with rice and beans and we got chips with refried beans while we waited. The red chilaquiles sauce was really good. I usually get green sauce because most places don't make a good red sauce. This place is an exception. The quesadilla was huge. My son was only able to finish 1/4 of it. The menudo was very good: well seasoned and included patita. I usually have to pay extra at other places for it. We got the handmade tortillas. We also got the coffee. Tip: add some cinnamon powder to it and you have a semi cafe de olla flavor. We don't leave in the area and only ended up here because the place we originally wanted to try was packed. We're so glad to have found this hidden gem. Give this place a try. I've been wanting to try the breakfast burrito from here for awhile now and especially with the reviews. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. It could've been the breakfast burrito choice I got.. or the high expectations of it.. not sure, but I tried the big breakfast burrito (comes with ham, sausage and bacon). I replaced the beans with bell peppers. The meat inside the burrito tasted a bit dry and the tortilla was pretty greasy. The lady that helped us was really helpful and nice. The restaurant seem like a small, family owned, hole in the wall (which I loved and was excited to try!) I also tried the fish burrito but sadly did not love the combination of fish and lettuce in it. I may have to come back and try some other recommended foods. read more

It's unfortunate that not all taco shops have cabeza on their menus so it was good to finally find one that's nearby. While the printed menu prices aren't updated, a regular taco is about less than $3 (there's an extra charge for "special" meats). The taco size is bigger than others so that I suppose justifies the price. I ordered 1 cabeza taco and enjoyed it. It didn't have a lot of the fillers and was mostly meat. Hubby got the cabeza burrito and it was huge. The meat was flavorful, not chewy, and not fatty; this actually makes me wonder if the meat is pure cabeza. The cashier was alright; she wasn't too friendly. The printed menu prices were outdated ($1.99 on print but actual price is closer to $3) so that's a bit annoying. I posted menu pics with updated prices but zoom in if you can to see them Overall experience is a 4. I'd return again in the future but will most likely first try other taco shops with cabeza before going back. read more
