The shrimp plate I had was way to spicy. I enjoy spicy food but not when it's so hot you're unable to enjoy it. Service was great tho

Incredible service! The team here works in total harmony. We felt so welcomed--true "home-style" hospitality. The Food: My husband loved it, and my toddler devoured the Asada Taco Mexicano. The Kids' Menu: Very large portions! Just a heads-up if your kid is picky: the shredded tacos come with a lot of lettuce, so you might want to ask for them "street style" (cilantro/onion) or plain. My son likes a good Mexican taco! More photos coming up!

Steak piccata with rice and beans

We stopped in when we were in the area. We were craving Mexican food, and we found this place. The service was on point very attentive very good selection of various items. We enjoyed our lunch the tacos and chips. They gave each one of us our own container of salsa, which was kind of nice as we both like salsa. I had the piccata my wife had the enchilada and taco combo. We were very pleased. We were glad we found this location and enjoyed it very much.

I have been coming here for the last 25 years and it has not changed much. Unfortunately the prices have gone up a lot but so has every thing else. I remember coming here for their lunch specials which were under $9.00. My family still picks this place as our go to Mexican restaurant not only for the taste but for their friendly service. Some of their waiters and waitresses have been there for over 30 years. We also really love their salsa that has not changed. My go to is garlic shrimp or carnitas extra crispy.

Specialties listed here the Chili Verde delicious. Lots of great options.

This is a place that has been a La Palma gem forever. We have been going for years and years. The inside is a traditional style Mexican restaurant. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. There can be a little bit of a wait but it is never ridiculous. Chips and salsa hit the table shortly after you're seated, the salsa is a chunky style, not particularly my favorite but very good still. Full bar and the drinks are delicious. From margaritas to mixed drinks and cold beer, a must have is there Cadillac Margarita. The menu has a great selection of Traditional Mexican dishes. I have way too many to list but 1 for sure is the Chili Verde. Definitely worth trying and good chance it will make one of your go to Local Mexican spots. Sorry no food pics., got side tracked when the food arrived.

Cup of Albondigas Soup

WoW, our 1st time here and this will definitely be our Go To Spot for Mexican food from now on!! When we got here we could see they were busy and took that as a good sign. We were greeted by a friendly host and seated right away. Someone then brought complimentary water, chips and salsa to our table. We liked that we each had our own salsa and OMGee, the salsa is amazing! We wound up putting it on everything! Our server (Jorge) came and took our order and checked on us throughout our meal. I ordered the Carnitas Enchiladas Plate (yum super cheesy) with a side cup of albondigas soup. The soup could've been its own meal, there was so much packed in there. Husband ordered a Chili Relleno / Taco Plate. Each meal came with rice and beans. We both enjoyed our food, everything was delicious. We'll be back again!

Such wonderful service. Came here on Tuesday. Our table servers which was a male and female were excellent. Both so warming and quick. The host was also very nice. Sat us quickly. We were given water and salsa immediately. Our food came out nice and hot. It was so good. The salsa and guacamole were overwhelmingly delicious. We couldn't get enough. The guacamole was so flavorful and creamy. I hate lemon taste in my guacamole and there was none. My tea was good too. My hubby ordered a Roy Roger's. I needed something warm for this cold weather. This restaurant is so much more updated than the Torrance location. Both have home feelings. They feel so comfortable. We had a great dinner. Sometimes we just need nachos lol. And La Capilla has the best. Haven't had a place since this place have quality nachos like they do. Great people and great food.

This joint used to be in our weekly rotation but since the move, we haven't visited in months. Wifey and I missed the overall vibe and culinary experience! The staff is always friendly and accommodating. We actually needed earplugs because the next table was beyond sonic boom loud lol but this La Capilla location is bar none.

01/17/25 My oh my! Portions are huge. First off, let me talk about the tortilla chips and salsa! Chips were brought out so warm. The salsa had a perfect spice to it. It was sooo good and a great start to our meal. We ordered chicken flautas, carne asada burrito and half order nachos supreme. Chicken flautas: 2 big pieces. Came with refried beans, rice, guacamole and sour cream. The chicken and rice didn't have a lot of flavor but the crunch on the flauta was absolutely everything. 5/10 Carne asada burrito: Came with refried beans. My hubby said it was okay. He gave it a 7/10. Nachos supreme: This was very flavorful. We ordered it with carne asada. My daughter wanted a half order because she wasn't that hungry and it was still huge. Between the 3 of us, we barely made a dent in it. 10/10 I would definitely order this again. Our waiter and waitress were very attentive and nice. The restaurant is huge and open. Will definitely be back again to try other items. Overall, 8/10.

We've been coming to this place for over 30 years and it was always a favorite of ours. I do have to say the last two or three times I've been, I have not left happy. It is a very cute place and the service is really good, but I've noticed a change in their red sauce. It isn't a good change. There's a kind of spice or seasoning to it, almost like a pumpkin. That said they do have some of the best tortilla soup I've ever had, and I'm fine with those items that don't have the red sauce on it. The different margaritas are also absolutely awesome! This is a place that's kind of tradition for us, so I imagine we'll continue to go back again and again. I'm just won't be ordering anything with the red sauce on it, which is a shame because I love cheese enchiladas with red sauce.

My favorite type of fajitas are the ones that come out sizzling! Came in for a quick dinner on a Friday night and was able to be seated promptly within the cantina area. Service was friendly and prompt. The fajitas were seasoned well and a good portion size so I was able to take leftovers home for a meal the next day. Always a staple when visiting Buena Park!

Chile verde plate

Good food, service, and local family restaurant. Went on a Saturday night and enjoyed a drink in the bar and dinner. I ordered chicken suiza enchiladas which was a generous amount of food with corn and beans. My husband ordered chile verde and he enjoyed his dinner. Good margaritas and staff was pleasant.

I just went today for my moms birthday (April 2), and they no longer offered a free combination meal. They did offer flan though

Service: 1/5 The service wasn't the best but apparently our server was on break at the time we were seated. She didn't tell us that, nor did the person serving us, but we overheard her tell another table that was seated after us. She did come once to check up on us but unfortunately, it was too late and we were trying to forget the experience. During this time, there was a larger party of 6 that came in to dine and of course to accommodate, the workers arranged a table together; however, the way that this happened was that they were dragged the heavy tables and chairs together instead of picking them up. I'm not expecting no noise or for them to faintly put the table together, but if this is supposed to be a Michelin Guide restaurant and they want people to fully enjoy their experience, you wouldn't expect extremely loud screeching from the chairs and tables grabbed next to you. Food: 3/5 My mother got the spaghetti with added asada and it was good. My wife got the chilaquiles with tinga and it wasn't bad. The only thing that we wished was that there was more flavor to the tinga other than the salsa it was tossed in, but again, no real complaints. Come to my dish and the star of the show. They served candied pork belly with the rest of the dish in oil. The sides were tasty and flavorful but I wish it wasn't suiting in that oil. The pork belly had no chipotle flavor, and tasted just straight like agave glaze. In my opinion, it wasn't cooked that well either or maybe it was just how the dish was put together that accentuated the sweetness. The fat was rendered well but instead of the meat being crispy, it was burnt and dried out. This just soaked up all that sweetness and made the dish inedible. Since I had already shared the pork belly with my wife and mother, my wife ate the rest of my plate as it was fine like I mentioned, but I couldn't stand it anymore. Unfortunately, this didn't sit well in my body either as I ended up getting sick shortly after. I want to be fair. My instinct was to do a 1 star review but my family enjoyed their dishes and the restaurant vibes itself were very nice. Would I come back? Not if it were up to me but would I recommend it to others? Sure, but stay clear of that pork belly dish.

Like many Mexicans, I grew up believing that the best Mexican food can only be found in Mexico. However, La Huasteca completely exceeded my expectations. The food was authentic, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. We ordered the fajitas, menudo, and several appetizers, and every single dish was excellent. You can tell they put a lot of care into the quality and preparation of their food. The service was great, the atmosphere was welcoming, and most importantly, the food tasted like real Mexican food. That's not something I say often. If you're looking for authentic Mexican cuisine and don't mind paying a little extra for quality, I highly recommend La Huasteca. We will definitely be coming back.

4 star rating is for their 3-Roll Taco…read more This place has always been reliable for their carne asada, California Burrito, chicken chimichangas, and 3-rolled tacos. I've been coming here since it was originally named Alberto's...The outside seating has not changed. It's still the same round table bench with the red umbrella. Service is the same, they're pretty quick at getting your food prepped. Now I said that their carne asada has always been reliable, but my last two times I've ordered a carne asada burrito (sour cream and cheese only) or a CA burrito, IYKYK, their meat has tasted different. It taste like it's some carne asada and then like some other mystery meat, sometimes liver... Either way I stop eating it when I have tasted it being weird. Maybe it's the other meats they serve that get mixed in. I don't dig that. So for that I would rate them down to a 3 star. I'm rating their 3 rolled tacos as 4 stars! It's the best around. It has the crunch and enough meat inside. It's not all tortilla like some places. We always order it with sour cream and cheese only, with carrots on the side. I've tried adeltacos down the street and it doesn't compare. Get it here.
