My experience here somehow managed to go from annoying to straight-up ridiculous. I called in what should have been a very simple order: Cali Fries with pollo and another with half adobada, half asada. Immediately I'm told the cook "portions out the meat for every single thing," so they can't possibly split it. Fine. So I adjust and say I'll just do adobada fries and add an asada taco. Then suddenly it's, "Actually, we can only cook two meats at one time for an order." I'm sorry... what? It's fries and a taco, not a five-course tasting menu. After going in circles over basic proteins, I gave up and ordered pollo and adobada just to end the conversation. It doesn't stop there. When I arrive, I'm informed I can only pick three salsas per meal, from the grand total of three they offer, and anything extra is an upcharge. So you're rationing salsa like it's liquid gold... and there are only three to begin with? I took one of each, because apparently that's the max luxury experience here. Then I get home and, despite all the dramatic back-and-forth about which meats are allowed to coexist, they STILL get it wrong. Instead of pollo and adobada, I get asada and adobada, literally the combo I originally tried to order and was told was such a problem. The asada was fine, nothing special. The adobada was so salty it was borderline inedible. And those tightly controlled salsas? Completely average. Between the meat "rules," the salsa policing, and the incorrect order, this was a total waste of time and money. If you're going to make ordering this complicated, at least get it right. read more

My friend brought me to this hole-in-the-wall gem and could not stop bragging about their Cali burritos and now I understand why. I normally avoid burritos because they tend to fall apart halfway through, but this one completely changed my mind. It was wrapped tight, fully loaded, and massive, easily larger than my forearm. Every bite was packed with flavor, and it held together perfectly from start to finish. Hands down, the best burrito I've ever had. What made the experience even better was the service. Hermalina was incredibly warm and welcoming and made us feel instantly at home. That kind of genuine hospitality goes a long way. Two enthusiastic thumbs up for Cali Tacos. I arrived about 5 minutes after they opened and they were setting up the out door dining. (Good to know there's outdoor dining!) The cashier immediately stopped to greet and take my order, which was incredibly nice of her! I went with the west coast burrito and my gosh it was huge!!! The was also very yummy and if I were just a bit hungrier, I have to admit I would have finished it. The green salsa was my favorite. Yesterday I had some time before my game and yelped for a food spot. I came across CaliTacos and decided to try it out. I ordered the Westside burrito with carne asada. Burrito includes guacamole, Cali sauce onion & cilantro (which I opted out of) and melted cheese. Let me tell you about this burrito the explosion of flavors on that first bite was OMG! The juiciness of the meat with the fresh guacamole and the melted cheese was just so good! I added more Cali sauce and the green sauce and it just added to the flavor. This a must try. I also ordered a side of chips and they came in bag nice and hot. Fresh tortilla chips were all so good as well. I'll definitely come back to try the rolled tacos, carne asada fries. The lady at the counter was super friendly. She almost reminded me of my grandma. Nice and gentle. Place has a couple tables inside and tables outside to eat. Usually don't leave food reviews as you can see from my profile but this place was too good not to leave one. Got the Carne Asada Cali burrito and it was so delicious! Meat and fries were cooked perfectly and the salad took it over the top. Very generous portion too. Will definitely be back to try their tacos. read more

When I lived in Orange County Cali Tacos was me and my friends favorite spot! We been to both the Orange and Santa Ana location and it seems they are test the waters outside of OC. The person behind the counter taking me and my dads order was very nice and also gave us extra cali sauce for our food without even asking for it. From the menu I don't think they have everything the other two stores do (like their secret menu) but as I said this could be a test run for a new location. Since I don't see it on their website either. I recommend at least giving this place a try once. Just don't forget to try the cali sauces along with the usual sauces they have. I usually go for the burrito but I enjoy their tacos too. read more

On August 26th, I visited Cali Tacos for the first time. When I arrived, I initially thought the place was called "Tacos," but then I saw another sign that said "3 Pesos." Nonetheless, I proceeded inside the restaurant. The place is very small with minimal tables, but they do have outside seating. As I studied the menu, I noticed the name "Cali Tacos" and a corresponding website, so I figured this was the name of the restaurant. Their menu is simple and straight to the point, which I love. I ordered their Westside Taco Al Pastor with everything, a coke, and the total came to $6.06. While waiting for my order to arrive, I noticed that my receipt had another name for the restaurant, "Taco Kings." I had to Google map the restaurant and physically search for its location to confirm that the place is indeed called Cali Tacos. My order took about 10 minutes and oh my god, it was huge! In my opinion, the amount of meat and the size of the taco was worth my money. The taco was delicious and savory, the meat was perfectly cooked, and the guacamole tasted freshly made. Halfway through eating my taco, I thought to myself, "Why isn't this place more popular? This taco is delicious!" I can only imagine what the rest of the food on their menu looks like and tastes like. In conclusion, this place deserves more recognition in my opinion because the staff provided me excellent customer service, the chef nailed the taco because it was delicious, and I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends and family. The only advice I give to the owner is to advertise "Cali Tacos" outside their restaurant for better recognition. I will be coming back. read more

I highly recommend this place! I had this for lunch while working but I can totally see this being hangover or drinking food for all you college kids. The service was fantastic as they explained the entire menu to me and the flavors. The ambience is what it needs to be for a taco joint, i enjoyed the outdoor seating on a beautiful Cali day. Lastly, the food was bomb! Red, green, and chipotle sauce were fire! The CaliTaco is a monster taco and I tried the Avado nest for the first time and I was impressed!
