The food here is very good, authentic Mexican food. All those dishes that stand out in Mexican cuisine are here! Portions are large, dishes well seasons and not "Americanized" as some restaurants do, not just Mexican but many other cuisines, just to attract palates, that do not lice strong flavors. Some of you know what I mean. Service always seems "routine", maybe with some servers, "forced". I have gone late dinner time, maybe they are tired, maybe having a bad day. Never rude though. A couple of times I have had to send back food. Once on a "kids" meal where the burger looked like a microwaved burger. Ok, my grandson isn't big on Mexican food (Samoan, Filipino decent). Obviously, their kids menu had a burger option, what's that telling you? There is ample seating and depending on the day, you may have to wait a few minutes but its not bad. Recommendation, do not sit too close to the back because the restrooms have a strong disinfectant smell. Clean restroom but not good for the appetite. read more

I'm glad this isn't my first experience bc I wouldn't have had a second. Unfortunately, this experience outweighed the first few nice visits. Going on a Taco Tuesday, I expected there to be a wait time. What I didn't expect was that my 20 minute wait (according to the hostess) would turn into almost 40. I don't mind waiting the time, I do mind waiting double the time bc a hostess can't give an accurate time without any updates. Unfortunately, the server also took so long to take our order. The food wait was long too, which didn't seem too bad until I realized the restaurant wasn't busy enough to have slow turnout and slow service. Maybe the missing guests knew something I didn't. When the food finally came, it was not edible. I'm not sure if it was an off day, as I had ordered this plate before, but my enchiladas were so spicy that it immediately made my lips prickle like I put on plumper, with a complimenting redness, and my tongue was suffering. I thought i might've just been sensitive but my partners plate, wet burrito, was also incredibly spicy. I had specifically asked for the "less spicy" sauce and was disappointed. I had planned to share my large plate with my toddler and I'm glad I taste tested it first. The beans were also over spiced as the salsa ran into them. All I could eat was the rice, sour cream, and orange slice. The plates are large and almost shareable, so that's a big plus. I just wish I could've enjoyed them. Overall, I was so upset by my encounter here. My experience was two hours with only spending about 20 minutes with my main course in front of me. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say it was a bad day. Let's hope we don't have a repeat experience later. read more

1st time eating at this restaurant recommended by my chiropractor and the food was delicious we brought our fiends with us this time they really enjoyed the food also , we came on a Friday it was really packed the wait wasn't that bad 30min only since they have plenty of room. I recommend sitting on the main floor not the bar side unless you get a booth or sit at the bar if it's just 2 it's kinda dark in the back and really crowded.other than that the service was good and fast I'll definitely come back again . read more

We were seated right away and the food was delicious. Staff was friendly. We got chilaquiles verde and it was perfection with some light heat in the taste. Chips and salsa came with the menus. Had a late lunch at 2:00pm on Saturday. It was crowded but no waiting. I am told at peak times, wait time is about an hour. I ordered fish tacos that were absolutely delicious. I had fried and grilled fish. I highly recommend the grilled fish tacos. Cooked to perfection. My daughter had the potato tacos, and she loved them. They were flavorful! I went to try this place but what a disappointment. I ordered chilaquiles with egg and meat and for the expensive price ($22 with coffee) I was expecting them to be great but no. I was moved to another table to accommodate other people that came after me, I didn't mind at first. My order was made to go and put on foam container instead of a plate! And the waiter still asked me if that was ok with me? No mam! That's not a way to treat your customer you should have just changed it to a plate without asking! I called and ordered green sauce chilaquiles & a carne asada plate to go over the phone, I was told it would be ready in 15mins. I arrived 15mins later, they charged me for the transaction, but the food wasn't even ready. I was able to see the kitchen staff relaxed and talking, but it wasn't till they charged me that they started to make my order, so I had wait an additional 10-15min for my order. I looked around, confused to why it wasn't ready, normally orders get backed up at restaurants when they're busy, but today that wasn't the case, they were only attending to one table of two. I was in a time crunch, but I kept my cool, and I gratefully waited to get my order. After that, I got home and me & my gf started to eat our breakfast, but I can honestly say that it wasn't up to par. My carne asada plate was a 3 out of a 5 ( at best ) since the deep fried beans saved the plate, not the under seasoned meat, but my gf's chilaquiles were without a doubt a 1 out of a 5. No flavor, no salt, and were soggy as a wet cardboard box. I know because I finished her plate since she didn't want it. I wish them well but I won't be going back there again. read more

Food was freshly made and warm I got a sopa de pollo/chicken soup really good and right amount of chicken well seasoned. Husband got red enchilada plate. You know how you just want to find that special little place where the menu is on the wall and the booths are deep. We found one today in Los Compadres on Bellflower Blvd. Ok, so we came too late for the Menudo and the Horchata, the Menudo I can understand, but running out of Horchata? Oh well, they do have a soda machine. The chips were good and especially we liked the fresh salsa. We were offered two helpings as the small place got really busy. So let's see what the food is going to be like. My lovely wife ordered the shrimp tacos and a big carnitas burrito with red sauce. After finishing the tacos which she said was super on crunchy home made tortillas, she decided to take the big burrito to go. I ordered the Caldo de Res which came with fresh cilantro and onions and a side of some real good rice. The beef in the caldo was plentiful and the vegetables were enough for a great tasting soup that went really well with the hand made corn tortillas. Be aware that this small place is not taking charge cards although stickers on the door indicate Visa and MC. The waitstaff are young and learning and tried hard to please. The food definitely made up for any service mishaps. The big carnitas burrito we took home and devoured afterwards, convinced us that we should revisit the next time we are in the area. read more
