We found our new Mexican spot! We live fairly close to this place but Yelp brought us here. The Hubby was looking for chilaquiles. He ordered them with shredded beef & green sauce, although he loves HOT he likes to control it. The green was nice & spicy, maybe a little too spicy but nothing either of us can control. I cannot speak for all dishes here but what I ordered was disgusting, super bummed. I had a wet burrito with carnitas (verde, of course). The "carnitas" consisted of small chunks of really strange (almost rancid) pork. I've never seen carnitas like that in my entire life. Plus they put big chunks of cut up jalapeño inside the burrito which I found to be another strange component. I also had a hard time communicating with the staff, they acted as if they didn't speak English and when I ordered in Spanish they still didn't get it. Very frustrating especially when you're starving and just want to grab some food fast... I am concerned with the freshness of the meats here...my pork was inedible....I will NOT be giving them a second chance; there are far better Mexican spots to go to. I had lunch here today at El Comalon. It was treat myself Tuesday! #tmt Where do I begin? It feels like you're in somebody's home and the food doesn't disappoint. How can it with home made tortillas and Carnitas that melts in your mouth!! They have an amazing salsa bar that even labels the degree of heat you can expect as well as limes, jalapeños, etc. My Burrito today is just what the doctor ordered!!! Side note... My mom and I decided to try this place out and we were glad we did. This was formerly Tacos Don Chente and as of yesterday (March 26) it became El Comalon. You order at the register, they give you a number and they take your food to your table. Once you sit down, a server brings you your drinks and a bowl of chips. There are 4 tables that seat up to 7 people and 4 tables that seat 4 people. The food was really good and they have quite a variety of food, salsas, and aguas frescas. They are running there place as gourmet place with gourmet prices however their service is like a corner taqueria.
